Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th [h=1]Reims – Bordeaux[/h]There’s a big possibility that Reims will once again use 4th choice keeper Garel, as in this moment the first three keepers are out injured (looks like Agassa has the most chances to make a comeback). More bad news as Reims will be without fullback Mavinga (important) and central midfielder Albaek, both of them suspended. Reims may also miss central defender Roberge who got out injured last round and is doubtful.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th Reims – Bordeaux The hosts are in a terrible mess with injuries and form. They have all sorts of issues and it’s difficult to see them getting anything tonight. I haven’t personally been very impressed with the management of Jean Luc Vasseur this season, and as I feared he is proving to be a ‘bust’ signing so far. Bordeaux should win this match tonight but every man and his dog has been pounding them big. Les Girondins are actually close to an odds-on shot which is poor value. I do expect them to get 3 points but I’m not touching them at this price. Prediction: Reims 1-3 Bordeaux NO BET

Real shock result is that' date=' no idea where Reims pulled out out from. Hard luck Neil, I was fortunate to avoid damage here[/quote'] Had three games expecting goals. Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th

Real shock result is that' date=' no idea where Reims pulled out out from. Hard luck Neil, I was fortunate to avoid damage here[/quote'] It was a dull game without decent scoring opportunites. The only goal was a bizzarre fluke. A point each would have been a fair result because Reims themselves deserve no credit for this win.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th Caen – Marseille It’s fairly obvious now that Marseille are ‘for real’ A run of 6 straight wins has propelled them top of the table and the level of their football has been really impressive. This is the best I have seen OM play for a number of years, new coach Marcelo Bielsa has seriously got them ticking. Two things have really helped their cause – lack of injuries/suspensions, in addition to no European football. Marseille can just solely focus on the ligue which is fantastic in terms of match preparation. They should really get the job done today facing Caen, there are very few signs that this OM run is going to end soon. The hosts aren’t a bad side and have some reasonable quality, but overall Marseille should be too strong. PSG claimed a relatively comfortable 2-0 win here a couple of weeks ago and I see a similar outcome. Caen might actually get on the scoresheet, but I expect OM to ultimately find a way to get the 3 points in what should be an open game of football. I am extremely surprised OM are odds-against for this match and it’s a nice bonus that a -0.25 line is available on them. At the very worst they should at least draw so I really like the look of this bet for 5 units. Prediction: Caen 1-3 Marseille Recommended bet: Marseille -0.25 @ 1.85 5/10 Bastia – Lorient Neither team is in particularly great form, but I like taking the islanders here. It’s not been the easiest of transitions for new Bastia coach Claude Makelele but there have been one or two positive signs this season. As you might expect, they have been reasonably good at home and poor away, typical of most Corsican sides. They’ve drawn 3 out of 4 at home, but tonight is definitely a great opportunity for them to get maximum points. Lorient are renowned for their horrible away results, although of late it’s been hard for them to get a result anywhere! The pressure is already on Sylvain Ripoll and his side travel here on the back of four consecutive defeats. When you look at their squad, it’s not hard to see why either. The backline on paper is arguably their strong department, but because they play fairly attacking then perhaps they don’t make the most of this strength. Midfield and attack has been decimated with injuries and they lack many ‘tough’ physical players. Out wide they are starting the likes of Gilles Sunu, who is actually a striker and doesn’t track back properly. Upfront, Benjamin Jeannot is likely to get the nod tonight, but he’s a poor player at this level and wasn’t even a regular for Nancy last season in Ligue 2! Star summer signing Jordan Ayew has been a complete bust so far and missed a ton of chances at crucial moments. Bastia are nothing special, but at fortress Furiani I have no hesitation in backing them on a -0.25 line. At very worst they should draw. However, truth be told, I’d be surprised if they didn’t win this one. Prediction: Bastia 2-0 Lorient Recommended bet: Bastia -0.25 @ 1.92 5/10 Rennes – Lens Which Rennes will we see today? Will it be the one who lost terribly vs Toulouse at home (0-3) or will it be the one who pretty much outclassed Bordeaux, yet somehow lost 1-2 last weekend? Rennes are a complete Jekyll and Hyde outfit and it actually makes me more confident to back them now that they’ve lost 3 straight games. They are ‘due’ a decent display and result, it could definitely come tonight facing Lens. Lets first of all say that Rennes have the potential to play great football. They aren’t consistent but when things click, they can be very nice on the eye. My main worry with Lens here is that they miss their best two players to suspension. Key CB Ahmed Kantari and central midfielder Jerome Lemoigne are both banned, and this is a major blow to a team that has a pretty small squad anyway. Lens have done very well to pick up as many points as they have considering the transfer issues at the club. They are a very close knit group of players and have a strong fighting mentality. But today might be a step too far for them if Rennes turn on the style. This match means way more to the hosts who really really need 3 points. I’m going to back the Bretons to rebound and and snap their losing streak. Prediction: Rennes 2-0 Lens Recommended bet: Rennes -0.5 @ 1.85 5/10 Evian – Metz I’m not sure about this one. Evian are a difficult side to read, whilst Metz have performed surprisingly well upon their return to Ligue 1 level. There are both positive and negative factors to mention about both teams and it’s just a question of who turns up best on the night. I expect Metz will try and make themselves difficult to break down which might not suit Evian. The hosts tend to play better against bigger teams when there is less pressure. This is probably not going to be the most exciting encounter in the world with something like a 0-0 or 1-1 draw the most likely outcomes. I’m not interested in betting on the game. Prediction: Evian 1-1 Metz NO BET Nice – Montpellier South coast derby which is likely to be really tight and close. Nice looked to be in a terrible state a few weeks ago but have bounced back with shock wins against Lille and Monaco. Clearly they have managed to turn the corner, although I still don’t trust them. Montpellier aren’t a bad side and fairly hard to beat. I can’t see much separating these teams come the final whistle and I’d consider it a major 0-0 contender. There doesn’t look to be much value on either side, so an easy no bet swerve for me. Prediction: Nice 0-0 Montpellier NO BET

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th i think evian will win their match. they have two wins in a row and the last one being away. its seem to suggest they are team on the rise and i don't see why they can't continue with another win at home. metz are ok team coming up from lower divisions but i don't see a lot of their points coming from away matches. evian even have better superiority over them by beating them all three times they met so its an obvious choice for me. home win

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th 2 out of 3 winners for me Marseille totally hammered Caen but somehow needed a last-gasp goal to beat them. It was a deserved win and I'd have been really unhappy had they not got the 3 points there. Likewise, Rennes' success was totally merited and their first half performance was especially impressive. I have no idea how they didn't score before HT, but thankfully put it right after the break. Unfortunately though, I was way off with Bastia. They were awful and Lorient could've won 3 or 4 nil. Somehow I have managed to overestimate Bastia because based on this display they are utter shit. I still don't think Lorient are that good so this was an extremely poor and worrying display by the home team. Well done with Evian Sajtion

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th PSG v Monaco Monaco are all over the place at the moment. Their form looks poor. They have lost 4 games this season, and have not scored more than 1 goal in any game. PSG should win it , but I would stretch it to HT/FT PSG PSG . PSG have won 3 of 3 1st halves, all to nil at home. For me there are 2 negatives.... 1) PSG coming off a fantastic Champions league win over Barcelona. Will there be a knock on 'letdown' effect after such a big win ? 2) Monaco are undefeated away from home in the 1st half this season. At home they have lost 3 times (all 1-0 at HT), but away they have not been beaten 1st half. Small 1 unit bet on PSG HT/FT at a decent 2.38 on betvictor.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th St Etienne – Toulouse The visitors have suddenly found some good form and shouldn’t be underestimated. They pissed all over Rennes in their previous away game and followed it up with a good performance against PSG, which was a match they should’ve won. TFC definitely need to be treated seriously and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they drew, or even won this match. Sainte have lost their way a bit in recent matches and have only had 3 days to recover from a midweek EL encounter. They were at home but put a lot of energy into a match which they only drew 0-0. I think there is sure to be some sort of ‘come down’ factor and TFC should have a physical and mental edge. I couldn’t blame anyone who fancied TFC +0.5 here because I think they’ll cover. But I know better than to bet against St Etienne at home so I’ll refrain. Prediction: St Etienne 1-1 Toulouse NO BET Guingamp – Nantes Guingamp had a fantastic EL victory at home to PAOK on Thursday night. It’s great for a club like them that they can produce a win in the EL but I expect their ligue form to dramatically struggle whilst they are involved continentally. Already this season there’s been some worrying signs. The Bretons have lost 6 out of 8 ligue fixtures and haven’t exactly looked particularly good in many of them either. If they had a full week to prepare here then they’d have a much better chance, but as things stand, Nantes definitely have the edge. I’m tempted to back the visitors but there isn’t much value. This is ultimately a derby game and sometimes the formbook can be thrown out of the window for a contest like this. My feeling is Nantes will sneak a win and Guingamp could be tired, but I’m not confident enough to bet on them. Prediction: Guingamp 0-1 Nantes NO BET Lyon – Lille The big issue for Lille here is injuries and lack of player freshness. They have a number of key players out in all areas of the pitch, and it may well cost them. Just to rub salt into the wound they’ve only had 3 days to recover from a EL away match at Wolfsburg which was a high energy, high tempo sort of game. Lyon of course, aren’t involved in Europe this season so have had a full week to prepare for this game. Their own injury problems have subsided in the last few weeks and OL have actually been playing some fairly decent football. This is certainly not the most talented of Lyon’s squad’s, but Hubert Fournier has actually got them ticking recently, some young guns are fearless and in-form. I think Lyon will prevail today and take advantage of Lille’s injury problems. But unfortunately the bookies have cottoned on to this and offer little value on Les Gones. Despite this, I’m still going to bet them because I’m feeling quite confident about the outcome. Prediction: Lyon 3-0 Lille Recommended bet: Lyon -0.5 @ 2.05 4/10 PSG – Monaco Big match here dubbed ‘Le cashico’. Both teams had good results in the midweek CL, but Monaco have been dire in the ligue. PSG have drawn a lot of games but tend to raise their level in the really ‘big’ fixtures which makes me give them the edge tonight. The main worry for PSG is in defence where Marquinhos and Thiago Silva are both injured. They are going to have to line up with David Luiz and Zoumana Camara, which is a concern. Elsewhere though, Les Parisians are at full strength, minus Zlatan who’s been out for a while. Missing Ibrahimovic never worries me too much anyway because I feel it allows other players such as Cavani and Lucas Moura to shine. Monaco have really played poorly in the ligue and something just isn’t right with them. For some strange reason they’ve managed to play well in the Champions League but that might mean nothing in a fixture like this. Besides, Monaco have had one less day to recover and had to travel to Russia in midweek. The hosts should deliver a victory, they need to in order to keep some sort of pace with Marseille. The only concern is that central defensive pairing but at the end of the day PSG should be too strong. Taking them on a -1 asian could be nice value, it’s rare they are so generous at home. Prediction: PSG 3-1 Monaco Recommended bet: PSG -1 (asian) @ 1.87 5/10

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th One winner, one loser. Lyon were convincing in victory but PSG were bloody awful. Having said that, they were just 2 mins away from what would've been a very lucky push but they just couldn't hold on. It's unexplainable how a side who just beat Barca so well can play so bad tonight. Monaco were actually the better team and probably should have won it. Very disappointing end to the round.

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th

I think that Jardim prepares the team very well tactically hence the good results against the better teams than them on paper.
Monaco were surprisingly good. It seems they much prefer facing bigger and better teams, yet they are so shocking against the poorer outfits. They don't make sense

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > October 3rd - 5th they played themselves beyond and above their ability against barcelona and three days later experienced a physical slump although they were unlucky to concede that poor goal but it happened because of fatigue and poor concentration
