Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Nottingham - Sheffield Wednesday Championship England Tuesday 8/4 20:45 Prediction: Nottingham Odds: 1,93 Stake: 4/10 units Bookmaker: NordicBet Sheffield Wednesday in no mans land, nothing to play for really, and also some concerns here in centre defence as a couple of important players are out. They played quite well against Leicester but lost 2-1 away. We think that game took a lot of energy from the team. Nottingham have had a horrible few months, winless in the last 10. Incredible really, they are a capable team. Now with a few players back from injuries/suspension. Nottingham has all to play for, currently 5 points behind Reading on 6th place. We think this is a good time to back Nottingham against a Sheffield Wednesday who is weak on the road, has defensive problems and nothing to play for. A must win for Nottingham if they want to have a chance at a play-off spot!

Hi Boggen. Firstly let me say I really enjoy your posts and think your tips are up there with the best on this site. I also agree with your reasons for backing Nottingham Forest on the fact that they need a win whereas Sheffield Wednesday do not. I'm a Sheffield Wednesday fan and while I agree with this summary to an extent, having not watched much of Forest lately I can't comment on if they are in a state to start to bounce back from their recent poor results at this moment in time. What I will say is that we looked very good on Friday night, and although we can be very inconsistent on the road recently, we either dominate the game or don't turn up. Antonio looked class on his first game back for us and his efforts were rewarded with a goal. While I will say that Forest have a lot more to play and do have a very good squad capable of turning their results around, I think the safer bet would be BTTS @ 1.83 with Bet365. Both teams have been leaking goal recently and Sheffield Wednesday have problems in defence as you highlighted, however we looked very strong going forward against Leicester, even more so with Antonio now back in the side. We could have easily scored more than the one goal against Leicester. For me I am just not sure if this is the game Forest will get their first win or not and so to me the BTTS option looks a lot more appealing. Bet - BTTS @ 1.83 with Bet365 (5/10 stakes) Also I will have small stakes on - Antonio AGS @ 6.00 with Bet365

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Just to add some thoughts from someone who follows Forest. They have been terrible for months now. The only glimmers of a decent team seem to come away from home, when there isn't the pressure of the home crowd. The fact that we have the likes of Wilson, Lansbury, Lascelles and Reid coming back into contention means that this game should probably be swerved. But I do think that 4 with Betvictor is good value for a Wednesday win, taking into consideration our horrendous form and rumours of off-field discontent at the City Ground. A contributing factor is also that we are pretty leaderless at the moment. We've got our academy coach trying to manage the club and we've axed most of our first team coaches amid the Davies mess. It is true that Forest have still got everything to play for, but you wouldn't have thought so watching the previous 10 games. Small stakes on - Wednesday WIN @ 4 with Betvictor.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Watford v Leeds 1.70 at Betway Watford let me down a little on Saturday, conceding a late goal to Burnley for a draw. But I'm going to include them in an acca tomorrow night. Win this and they are still in with an outside chance of a play-off place. Leeds have only won one in their last eleven games, and that was home against Millwall

Seriously mate we have no chance of a playoff place outside or otherwise. Too many silly goals conceded and too many draws. I wouldnt touch us at odds on with stolen money Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Just wrote long reply but lost it so will keep this short: Bournemouth v Reading:Home side are flying after a 5th straight win tonight this has been the best Bournemouth side in many a year, the will to fight for each other the quality and the dean court faithful getting fully behind the side i think reading will be in for a tough night.Bournemouth 11\10 various. Barnsley v Burnley: Sean Dyche has worked wonders at Burnley on a small budget, the togetherness and morale of the team has been exceptional all season, and tonight welcome back 3 very important players(Ings Trippier marney) Trippier is imo the best right back in the league and well Danny Ings is simply been superb all year scoring 20 and championship player of the year is back from a minor injury and raring to go,Barnsley are having a tough year again, and currently sit in the last relegation spot and i see it hard for that to improve tonight .Burnley 13\10 Will Hill. Wigan V Millwall: Wigan have a huge game coming up this weekend against Arsenal in fa.cup, but there squad has so much strength in depth and there will be changes from the weekend 1-0 win over Leeds, but i still think they will be to strong for a very poor Millwall side.Wigan 4/6 Good Luck

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Hi all, Is there any chance anyone knows what Leicesters celebrations have been like since the weekend? I know the old, 'we will concentrate to the end of the season' etc will be rolled out but they need a maximum 9 pts from 18 to guarantee the title with promotion secured. If they were to let a game slip then this would be the one for me against a Brighton team still in need as of many points as possible for the play-offs. If the Leicester players have went a bit overboard and Brighton play the sort of football they can, then the 10/3 avaliable on them could hold some value. Craig Mackail-Smith is back in the squad and could start and they also have loads of experience running through the team. Lua Lua offers pace and power, with Ulloa a good finisher even if he hasn't shown it recently. Any opinions are very welcome, especially if some inside knowledge to Leicesters preparations are shared!!

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th I am takinga small bet on Middlesborough tonight. 2 stakes on them at 2,00 on WH seems decent value. They are without objectives but still are speaking on finishing on a strong run, and maybe start to build for the next season when they can be promotion contenders. Birmingham needs more the pts, probably a draw will suit them. Bu this is Championship and ANYTHING can really happen!!

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Small stakes on Doncaster. Seem overpriced to me? Around 11/5 at home to a Bolton side which doesn't have much to play for despite being in decent form. Doncaster still looking over their shoulder and although relegation is unlikely this looks like a good shot of sealing safety for them.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Wigan have secured their spot in the playoffs after the win against Leeds and they face a big opportunity to play in the FA Cup final for the second time in a raw if they beat a poor Arsenal side on saturday. Given the fact that the game will be played on Wembley is also a huge boost for the younger players in the squad who will play there for the first time. Having this in mind, and thinking of the Millwall's desperate need for points, I'll take Millwall +1 AH @ 1.80 at Bet365 because I think Wigan will rest some of their key players and if they still win, i don't think they'll have a margin of more than one goal, so I'll be pushed, but still in the game. Cheers from Bucharest!

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Potential Wigan line up tonight; GK Carson WBR Boyce (Could be rested, may be Rogne) WBL Crainey/ Beausejour DC Kiernan DC Rogne (Caldwell if Boyce rested) DC Barnett MC McEachran MC Collison AML McLean AMR Waghorn FC Maynard (or Fortune - Powell will start at Wembley) Possibly give a start or atleast 30 minutes to the returning Maloney. I'd imagine Ramis, Perch, McArthur, Gomez, Powell & McManaman will all be rested.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th We're at the stage where the pressure is starting to tell at the top and bottom of the table. Two key games tonight which are important for both sides are: Bournemouth v Reading Bournemouth: 2.2 Reading: 3.9 Both sides battling for a playoff place, Reading in the playoffs in 6th and Bournemouth 5 points behind. Charlton v Yeovil Charlton: 2.0 Yeovil: 4.58 Relegation battle. Yeovil bottom, Charlton 3 points above them. Numbers quoted are best home and away odds from oddsportal. I'm not sure yet where the value is if any, but just highlighting these games for now :)

Totally agree with this bet! I'm a Wigan season-ticket holder.......who will be at the game tonight. On Saturday Wigan players looked very tired in the second half of the 1-0 win over Leeds, and were hanging on, quite desperately at times in the last 20 mins. Manager, Rosler knows how tired the players are, and will rest all of the main faces tonight. These players have played more games this season than almost any other English club..........2 games per week almost every week since August with the Europa League involvement before Christmas, the FA Cup run and catching up on all of the backlog of postponed League matches. A play-off place is now almost assured.....with a 9 point gap between Wigan and the 7th place club with only 6 matches to play .......2 wins from their final 6 league matches should be enough to ensure a play-off place.........and they might not even need that! I don't expect any of the players who started the game on Saturday to start tonight.......so it will be a Wigan reserve team that takes the field......and, to be honest I don't believe that anyone at the club would be too bothered if we drew tonight. Everyone's mind is on the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal at the weekend. If Wigan do manage to win against, what will be a highly motivated Millwall side.........it is extremely unlikely to be by more than 1 goal........ Wigan have only won 3 home league matches out of 20 by more than 1 goal..........and those were with their strongest 11 players starting! Big value on Millwall +1.0 tonight!

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th

So what about Millwall X2 also good bet?
Could be! Although, as a very cautious punter who likes to play safe, the Millwall +1.0 or the Millwall +0.75 lines appeal more. It's difficult to be as objective as usual when you're opposing your own team! .......but Millwall certainly have a much better chance tonight than the odds imply!

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Middlesbrough - Birmingham Think a draw will suit both those, and others. Middlesbrough located on 13th place with 52 points, to the playoffs 11 points from the relegation zone 16 with 6 rounds before the end of the fight almost no trouble. Before this encounter problems with the composition. So , Dean Whitehead (31 game , 2 goals) disqualified in the match Dimitrios Konstantopoulos (7 games) and Ledesma (22 games , 3 goals) in question , as both got injuries in Saturday's match against Derby. Moreover, out Tomas Mejias (1 game), Daniel Ayala (16 games , 3 goals), Seb Hines (2 games), Rhys Williams (22 games), Stuart Parnaby (3 games) and Muzzy Carayol (32 games, 8 goals). Birmingham 18th , ahead of the relegation zone 7 points , but the 22th Barnsley has one game in hand , given how bad Birmingham plays at home points in this meeting are essential. At home loses in a row , and on the road presented sensation. Away stats occupy 5th place in the Championship : 9 wins, 2 draws , 9 defeats , goal difference 26:28. As for the composition , out Mitch Hancox (9 games), Neal Eardley (5 games), Matthew Green (10 games , 1 goal). 07.12.13 Birmingham - Middlesbrough 2:2 (0:1) 16.03.13 Middlesbrough - Birmingham 0:1 (0:0) 30.11.12 Birmingham - Middlesbrough 3:2 (1:1) 17.03.12 Birmingham - Middlesbrough 3:0 (1:0) 21.08.11 Middlesbrough - Birmingham 3:1 (0:1) 26.12.07 Birmingham - Middlesbrough 3:0 (2:0) Overall, Middlesbrough see out the season if matches with the type of leaders Derby motivation enough, then tune in after a brilliant victory over the "sheep" in Birmingham for 3 days will be very difficult. Guests understands that points in this meeting are essential , since then have meetings with the candidates for the playoffs in the face of Nottingham, Wigan and Blackburn , leaving in the final round to Bolton also does not promise anything good , only the home match against Leeds can bring 3 points, but this may be insufficient. Whatever it was , the price on the X2 looks good. Birmingham (+0.5) AH at 1.97 188Bet

On the basis of recent shots on target stats and teams needing something from the game, I think Brighton, Bournemouth and Millwall are worth backing tonight at current odds. Brighton of course need the points more than Leicester. Bournemouth need them more than Reading, and Millwall need them more than Wigan. Think we now know the answer to this after they have conceded the most goals in a game at home in the league since 2007.

Re: Sky Bet Championship > Tuesday April 8th Wigan 0 Millwall 1 Just got back from the match. As expected Wigan rested most of their first choice 11 (Emerson Boyce was the only regular starter who played the full 90 mins), one or two other regulars.....Powell and McArthur came of the bench and played 30 mins or so. Millwall scored a rather fortunate goal in the first half, when a massive deflection wrongfooted everyone and looped into the top corner. The away side then "parked the bus" for the remainder of the game, defending their penalty area with 10, or all 11 players most of the time, and used every possible opportunity to waste time (even in the first half!). A tired-looking and unmotivated Wigan dominated possession but could not find a way through a resolute and determined Millwall defence. This looked like a match that the Wigan players wished that they didn't have to play, ahead of the FA Cup semi-final with Arsenal. As with so many games at this time of year.........the more highly motivated team, that needed the points more......got the result.

I'm glad I've predicted this right but i had an accumulator ticket with this game, Derby +1 AH and Chelsea - PSG - BTTS & Over 2.5 goals and a scared Laurent Blanc ruined my profit :). Still, I'm not upset because I've taken Chelsea to qualify of a single ticket @ 3.75 so it was a good night for me. Hope you all made some nice profits last night! Now I'm preparing for saturdays round. Cheers
