Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th [h=1]Source : William Hill Stats Serie A Opta Facts| February 15-16[/h]

Atalanta v Parma Parma have won their last two Serie A meetings against Atalanta, scoring six goals overall. Parma have found the net in each of their last eight league games against Atalanta. However, Atalanta are unbeaten in their last eight games at home against Parma (W5 D3). The last time Parma scored more than a single goal at Atalanta's ground was in May 1997 (10 games ago). Atalanta haven't shared the points in their last seven league fixtures (W3 L4), however they've won their last three at home. Parma are unbeaten in their last 11 league fixtures (W5 D6) - this is their best run in the top-flight since going 12 games unbeaten in 1997-98. Parma have won their last two away games against Livorno and Chievo and are unbeaten on the road since October. Parma have shared five goalless draws so far in this campaign - the joint-most in the league. Germán Denis has netted two goals in his last three games against Parma in Serie A. Should he score in this game, he would reach double figure for goals for the third consecutive season in Serie A. Marco Parolo has scored three goals over his last two appearances against Atalanta, including a brace in the reverse fixture.

Calgiari v Livorno Livorno have beaten Cagliari only once in 11 Serie A meetings, with three wins for the Sardinians. The first four meetings at Cagliari's ground have ended as draws, before Cagliari's win in the last one. Cagliari have lost four of their last five league games, winning one against Fiorentina. Cagliari have scored exactly one goal in each of their last four home games, winning only once in the process (D2 L1). Cagliari have conceded 19 goals at home so far in this campaign, only Sassuolo have shipped more (25). Livorno have taken only five points from away games this term, better only than Catania and Atalanta. The Tuscans have the second-worst defence in this competition (41 goals conceded) - 20 of these goals have come in the last 30 minutes of play (the most of any club in Serie A). Livorno have also conceded the most goals from set-pieces (14, six from the penalty spot). Cagliari have conceded 10 headed goals - the most from team in Serie A this season. Cagliari's last eight goals have been scored by strikers, four by Marco Sau.

Catania v Lazio Lazio have won their last two league games against Catania - the Sicilians had won the previous two. Catania have scored in each of their last 10 league games against Lazio. In Sicily, Catania have had the better of their opponents on nine occasions. Lazio have won only twice, with three draws between them. Lazio have failed to score in four of their last six visits to Catania. Catania have won only one of their last 11 league fixtures and have drawn their last three games. In fact, Catania have shared the joint-most goalless draws in this campaign (five, like Parma). Lazio are unbeaten in the league since Edy Reja's appointment (W3 D3). Away from home, the Biancocelesti are unbeaten in their last three games - currently their best run of the season. Catania have the worst attack in the competition, with only 16 goals scored. Seven of Lazio's goals have been assisted by a cross; four of these were made by Antonio Candreva. Pablo Barrientos has scored two goals in his four appearances against Lazio in Serie A, including one in the reverse fixture.

Fiorentina v Inter Fiorentina have won only one of their last 15 games against Inter in Serie A, with 11 wins for the Nerazzurri. Fiorentina had the better of their opponents in their last home game against Inter; previously they had picked up only three points in six home games against the Nerazzurri. The Viola have scored 186 goals in Serie A against Inter - more than against any other opponent to date. Vincenzo Montella's side have won five of their last six home games, drawing the other. The Viola have scored in each home game so far in this campaign. Inter have won only one game in 2014 in all competitions (1-0 vs Sassuolo). The Nerazzurri have lost their last four Serie A games on the road. Inter have scored just three goals over their last six league fixtures, all courtesy of defenders. In their last game against Atalanta, the Viola didn't hold the majority of possession for the first time in a fixture in this campaign. Inter have scored eight goals following a corner - a league-high. Fiorentina have been awarded seven penalties while Inter haven't been given a single penalty so far this season. Hernanes marked his debut for Inter by making an assist for Samuel's winner against Sassuolo - that was his first assist since February 2013.

Genoa v Udinese Over the last seven meetings between these two sides, the same result has never repeated twice in a row - Udinese won 1-0 the reverse fixture. Genoa and Udinese have shared just one draw over their last 10 league meetings (0-0 in September 2012). Genoa have won seven of the last eight games played at home against Udinese. The Friulani have failed to score in six of their last nine visits to Genoa in Serie A. Before losing the derby against Sampdoria, Genoa had remained unbeaten for seven home games (W5 D2). Udinese have won their last two league games - this is the first time they have won back-to-back games in this campaign. Francesco Guidolin's side have also kept two clean sheets in a row for the first time since April. Genoa are the only side yet to score from open play from outside the box in this competition. Udinese are Alberto Gilardino's favourite target in Serie A (13 goals for him against the Friulani, including four goals when he was at Parma in May 2004). Antonio Di Natale has scored four goals over his last five appearances against Genoa in Serie A.

Juventus v Chievo Chievo have won only once in 21 meetings against Juventus in their history, with 14 wins for the Old Lady so far, including the 2-1 in the reverse fixture. The record in Turin sees the Bianconeri unbeaten in 10 games (W7 D3). These three draws have come all since 2009. Chievo have always conceded at Juventus' ground in their games in Serie A. Juventus have won 38 of their 49 home games under Antonio Conte in Serie A, including all 11 of this campaign. Juventus have conceded goals in each of their last five league fixtures. The last time they failed to keep a clean sheet for five games in a row was in March 2011, under Gigi Delneri. Chievo are winless in their last eight league games: three draws and five losses, including in each of the last two games. Chievo have picked up only 18 points so far - this is their worst ever record in Serie A after 23 matchdays. Against Verona last Sunday, Juventus conceded their first two headed goals of this campaign. Andrea Barzagli made his Serie A debut with Chievo in 2003-04 - he scored three times in 29 appearances during this campaign for the Veneti. Cyril Thereau has scored two goals in his last two appearances against Juventus, but he has failed to find the net in his last six Serie A games.

AC Milan v Bologna AC Milan are unbeaten in their last 10 Serie A games against Bologna (W6 D4). The record at the San Siro sees AC Milan leading by 37 wins to 12, and unbeaten in the last four meetings (W3 D1). Bologna have conceded 209 goals in 133 games against AC Milan, more than against any other Serie A opponent. The Rossoneri are unbeaten in their last five home games (W2 D3), and have always found the net in these games. Bologna got back to winning ways against Torino last weekend, after a run of seven winless games in the league. AC Milan faced 14 shots on target last weekend against Napoli - previously the Rossoneri had never conceded more than eight in a single game of this campaign. Bologna have made the fewest passes in this competition (7751). AC Milan have already lost four games from leading situations - no Serie A side has lost more so far this term. Giampaolo Pazzini has scored five goals in his last two appearances against Bologna. Jonathan Cristaldo scored a brace last weekend against Torino - his first ever goal in Serie A came against Milan in the reverse fixture.

Roma v Sampdoria Roma have won only two of their last eight league games against Sampdoria, with three wins for the Blucerchiati in the process. Samp have recorded 39 wins so far against Roma in Serie A, more than against any other side. However, Roma lead by 42 wins to eight at home against Sampdoria. Roma have failed to score only once over their last 14 Serie A home meetings against Sampdoria (0-0 in April 2006). Rudy Garcia's side are unbeaten at home in this campaign (W9 D2). The Giallorossi have conceded just two goals at home this season - fewer than any other side amongst the top five European leagues. Samp have collected 19 points in 11 games since appointment of Sinisa MIhajlovic - they had picked up just nine in the previous 12 games. Francesco Totti has scored 14 goals against Sampdoria in the league, only against Parma (18) he has bagged more so far. In the reverse fixture, Gervinho found his first ever goal in Serie A. Eder has found the net in two of his three previous visits to Roma's ground in Serie A

Sassuolo v Napoli The draw in the reverse fixture gave Sassuolo their first ever point in their Serie A history. Sassuolo have lost eight of their last nine league games, in between a 4-3 win over AC Milan. Napoli got back to winning ways last Saturday against AC Milan, after a run of three league games without a victory (D2 L1). Sassuolo have conceded goals in each of their last 10 league games, failing to score in six of them. Napoli have conceded goals in seven of their last eight away games in Serie A. Sassuolo have picked up just ten points from their home games so far, only Chievo (8) have accrued fewer. Sassuolo have conceded the most goals from outside the box in this Serie A (9), while only AC Milan (13) have scored more than Napoli (11) from long range. Former Napoli captain, Paolo Cannavaro collected 197 Serie A appearances for the Partenopei, before joining Sassuolo. Sergio Floccari has already scored 12 goals in Serie A against Napoli, his favourite target in the competition. Marek Hamsik has scored just one goal over his last nine Serie A appearances.

Verona v Torino Verona have beaten Torino only once over their last 11 Serie A meetings, with five wins for the Granata. Torino have won their last three games at Verona's ground in Serie A. Verona have scored just one goal over their last five home games against Torino, picking up just one point. Verona have conceded goals in their last seven Serie A fixtures, and in 12 of the last 13. Verona have taken four points from their last two games, after losing three games in a row. However, Andrea Mandorlini's side are winless at home in their last three games. Torino have failed to score only in one of their last 14 league games (0-0 vs Fiorentina). The Granata have dropped 20 points from leading situations -the joint-most in Serie A alongside AC Milan. Verona have conceded seven goals following corner situations, more than any other side in Serie A this season. Luca Toni has had the most headed shots (20) and scored the most headed goals (five, like Fernando Llorente) so far in this Serie A. Rômulo has already made eight assists this term, a Serie A record. Four of these assists helped Toni to score a goal. Ciro Immobile has scored seven goals over his last seven Serie A appearances.

Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th Fiorentina v Inter Fiorentina's last 5 home Serie A fixtures read 4-1-0. Inter's last 5 away fixtures are the exact reverse, being 0-1-4. With the last 4 all being losses. Guarin, Cambiasso and Hernanes have all been named in the squad. Mario Gomez is back in for Viola but will probably come on as a sub. Borja Valero is a big out for Fiorentina. The last time Inter won away was at Udinese on November 4th and the last time Fiorentina lost at home was even earlier on th 31st October. Obviously both teams are more comfortable playing at home which is where they take most of their points. Fiorentina are in a very good moment as a club, having just made the cup final and being only 3 points away from their fellow finalists Napoli in the last Champions League place. So all their energy from now on will be focused on running Napoli down and finally getting into the coveted UCL spot after they lost it on the last day of last season when Milan were given a last minute ghost penalty after the referee found a horses head in his change room at half time. Balotelli scored, Milan went to CL and that was that. Inter have had a season to forget and have many deficiencies in their team (and club). They have no chance for CL and not sure if they want Europa spot. Away they are awful and lack the know how of how to approach matches and handle themselves. With players like Cuadrado, Joaquin, Mario Gomez and Pizarro pulling the strings I think Fiorentina can definitely avoid defeat and with the crowd behind them can go on and win. Anderson may even inject and new point of attack for them and be better in this environment than he was at Manchester. Bet is Fiorentina +0 AH @ 1.50 to be safe in a double with another leg. Good luck :ok

Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th Fiorentina-Inter 1 @2,10 PP stake 6 Fiorentina has the fatigue problem as everyone is saying, but Inter IMO has the performance problem since a lot of time. I have watched them against Sassuolo at home, and if it was not for Hernanes, they seems so bad in managing attack, and as also some luck to win IMO. Fiorentina should have adrenalyne running trough theyr veins, now the third spot is theyr objective; on Thursday the El match is not so proibitive. Inter scares me for the fact that is the black beast of La Viola, but the stadium will be very hot tonight. Montella has decided to play without a real attacker, and probably he can upgrade his power upfront having Matri and Gomez on the bench, i think we should see the last one on the pitch at some time of the second half. Cuadrado Pizarro Aquilani Mati Ilicic Joaquin can make damages to the not so fast Inter defense, an Inter that will rely on counter Attacks, For me Fiorentina is the superior team in terms of tactical and quality, and even if they are coming from a very hard schedule, they want the win to put pressure to Napoli, that on paper has a very more light job Tomorrow to Sassuolo. Let's go Violets!!

Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th Cagliari V Livorno Livorno +1 @ 17/25 (Betdaq) > 2 Units Cagliari normally solid at home but they are on a bit of a slide in the second half of this campaign due to some high profile departures. Nainggolan will be almost impossible to replace in the centre of midfield while we see some defensive problems heading into the Livorno game with RB Pisano and key CB Astori out. CB Ariaudo is now at Sassuolo so Cagliari coach David Lopez maybe developing a headache over his backline selection for tommorows match. For me performances have improved at Livorno under new coach Domenico Di Carlo, the home defeat to Genoa last week was extremely harsh with the Amaranto deserving at least a point from that game. Livorno's away record has been poor thus far and punters maybe scratching their heads as to why I'm backing them tommorow but there is some potential tactical + in the Cagliari game. Cagliari like to play the offside trap which can leave them vulnerable to through ball attacks. With Paulinho and Emeghara, Livorno have 2 strikers which can play off the shoulder and cause Cagliari some problems, when you throw in Cagliari's defensive absences then we see even more weight being added to the equation. I also like the addition of Belfodil for Livorno who can add a little something extra for them going forward. For me Livorno can match Cagliari in the median so I don't see a big advantage for the home team there either. If Livorno can stay organised and keep Cagliari at bay, particularly at set-pieces where the home side will be a threat, then I think Di Carlo's side have a chance of picking up something from this game. It's not going to be easy as Cagliari can be very resolute on their own patch but Livorno shouldn't be such a big price here all things considered.

Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th I don't think the odds are set right in Genoa. Udine will always be a capable of delivering a surprise almost anywhere, but odds are suggesting they are favourites today by all numbers. Genoa + 0,25 AH is at 1,80. IMO these should be for Genoa + 0 AH. None of the teams ever had Euro ambitions, it was all about survival for both teams from the start, with the limited options they have. Staying in the league for both should be relatively easy too, but not because they produce some great games, rather the fact that at least 3 teams at the bottom look doomed. Udine's run in the Coppa is over and they will focus on safety in the league now, but that makes them no favourites today. Checked all the standard stats, checked last 10 games of each team, checked the Prediction Ratings - I see the home team taking at least a point today, and I see a game branded ''Under 2,5 Goals'' so I am not touching it.

Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th A double with Juve and Roma makes all the sense in the world, at 1,52, bet365. The home win for Roma is ''pumped up'' a bit because of that hard trip they had midweek to Napoli, but RG men already proved themselves solid in all lines, with enough options and good replacements. Might not be a walk in the park vs Samp, but Home Win looks solid. Looking for a third game to make it a treble, most likely Anderlecht, taking the odds up to 1,83.

Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th What do you guys think about Napoli in Sassuolo today? It seems to me they lost the path in the league the last few matches. But i would like to think that the firepower should be enough to win with a 2-or-more-goal-margin and that the setup with the clash for 2nd place drives them forward. Any thoughts?

I would say Sassuolo are running out of steam judging by the string of recent losses. Napoli frustrate me to no end as in matches like these where they are expected to comfortably collect 3 points, they somehow manage to screw up and usually Benitez's selections are at the heart of it. Napoli played and emotionally exhausting match vs Roma (if not physically) and coming down from that triumph and celebration in the city to beat lowly Sassuolo away from Napoli requires focus. Napoli don't have much depth but you would think all things being equal that they go there, Higuain knocks a couple simple goals in and they win. But for me it's a no bet because home side has been preparing all week, is desperate for points, Napoli are less fresh, Fiorentina lost so there is no pressure there and lastly I don't trust them to go away to minnows and dominate like Juve do. Expecting a Napoli win, but wouldn't be surprised - no bet.

Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th With Napoli its never about the players or firepower.. All I see is Benitez pushing his ideas through the wall, that is why they gave out loads of points in last few weeks. Again he is trying to close up the goal approaches instead of focusing on pressing the opposition hard in their half. Always when they seem to get a result, he starts waving hands to close it down, at times makes senseless substitutions, and thats what this team cant do. Today I believe they might go all out towards the goal, since cup run is secured they should go for all 3 points here. Knowing Benitez and Sassuolos craze when they play top tier team I am only willing to back napoli to win, wouldnt go for any kinds of handicaps, allthough they might end up thrashing the home side. And that is what I hate about a team, inconsitency and unpredictability. As Toto said (i love the nick :D) no bet, but should be a comfortable bet.

Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th catania won earlier today and surely that result will inspire sassualo to get a result as well against napoli since they are now last after catania's win. This is a very important game for them, more so now. They will be up for it and napoli usually has trouble against underdogs who are motivated especially when napoli play away. No bet game for me.

Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th ROMA v SAMPDORIA Roma have the best 2nd half defensive record in Europe. They have conceded just 1 second half goal at home in 11 games. Scored 15 and conceded just 1 , with 9 wins in 11 second halves. So second half they are dynamite. Overall Roma are undefeated at home with 9 wins and 2 draws in 11 games. They have scored 27 goals and conceded just 2. 4 bets I like Roma to win the 2nd half at odds of 1.67 paddypower Roma HT/FT is 1.92 betvictor Roma to win to NIL is 2.2 betway Roma -2 ASIAN handicap is 2.85 on bet365. Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th Verona with 3 clean sheets all season so far, on top of the Over 2,5 Goals stats in the league, with only the top 4 teams scoring more goals at home than these guys. Torino are completely different team from the boring side that was coming back from Serie B twice. They have attacking options to consider, and I also see gaps in the center of the defense ( the game vs Bologna at home ). Both teams are in the upper part of the table, relaxed and enjoying a good season. IMO none of them wants to get involved in a ''fight'' over 4-5th place for Europa League, an absolute distraction and a ''killer'' to Italian teams. It is exactly teams like this who might decide the faith of the Big Boys later in the season - Torino took points from Lazio, Roma, Fiore, Verona gave hard time to some Euro contenders. I see an open game tonight, a bit of a sparkle is needed and the game could go way above 3 goals. Goal/Goal is only at 1,66, so instead I took with bet365 : Over 2,5 Goals at 2,025 with 7,5 units Over 3,5 Goals at 3,20 with 1,5 units Correct score 1-1 at 6,00 with 1,5 units Clearly 2-0 will cost me a lot, but I am willing to stake medium to high on this game. GL all P.S. It looks like one of my biggest bets on a single game so far - added Verona Team Goals Over 1,5 at the incredible 2,20. Only failed to do it vs Chievo, Roma, Napoli - two top teams and the local rival.

Nice calls (game ended 3-0 and was 1-0 at HT) :ok I saw a lot of it and Roma were just so superior, despite some really sloppy attacking play when they missed a lot of good chances. Sampdoria were very poor in comparison.

Re: Serie A > february 14th - 17th Verona v Torino Verona have had three really tough home games in a row. Juventus, Roma, Napoli are the three best teams in the league. I think Verona have more than enough to win this game. They started off the season 8 wins in their first 9 games. In those first 9 home games they scored 2 or more goals in 8 of them. So goal scoring should not be a problem. Defensively they concede goals, giving up at least 1 goal in 10 of 12 home games. I like three bets here Verona to win it is 2.38 on coral BTTS is 1.75 ladbrokes over 2.5 goals is 2 on 32red
