Re: Carling Cup > Monday October 28th i think arsenal is a good price,i`ll be looking to take it while it`s @2.5 ... this game will be played on tuesday, arsenal will be coming after saturday`s away game, against c. palace and chelsea after sunday`s game with man c., maurinho allready winging that, it`s not fair and as a protest he will be putting out chelsea`s u - 21 :D even if maurinho gather`s up strong team, they do have a long bench, i still don`t see them winning at emirates, arsenal youngsters are on fire + in a month time arsenal will welcome back walcott, cazorla, rosicky, sonogo and lukas p might aim for this game to get a runner, but ox might be short.. still plenty of time, just some brainstorming :)

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October @chuda..chelsea squad depth is best in the league and chelsea has a good record against arsenal. Both teams are in great form and chelsea have beaten better teams in the past 2 games while arsenal have lost at home. I dont see chelsea losing this..no matter wat team arsene puts out chelsea team will be stronger. btts and overs are the obvious bets that come to mind.

Reading about the biggest storms today in UK' date=' I'm wondering if there will even be any games tomorrow.[/quote'] The UK isn't quite the apocalyptic wasteland the Daily Mail would have you believe ;)..should be no problem getting the games on.

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October mnjaaa... that was my thoughts month ago, everything is opposite now... arteta on red card, walcott got injury " extension" , flamini injured, rumors of poldi being back ... anyway, maybe next year :D even chelsea played one day earlier they second team is good, expecting something like : Schwarzer Bertrand Luiz Cahill Azpilicueta Essien Obi Mikel Willian Mata De Bruyne Ba/Eto ? Jenkinson Vermalen ? Monreal Wilshare ? Gnabry rosicky Cazorla Bentner something about Maurinho wants to win it more, no matter about what it is :D ... Wenger never make it strong early stages, unless it`s qters or semis, even you think he could easily take an advantage and play strong team, or bench at least, taking out contenders early stage out and still have 4 days till liverpool clash , but most likely not :D have to wait for line ups but for now chealsea @ 2.7 looks good ...

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October I also think Chelsea will not lose. Wenger really don't treat cup games like PL or CL, Mourinho will be full of confidence after win over Man C and will try to strike another win at Emirates. It's all to Wenger and how strong eleven he will start tomorrow. I do agree with Sm0k3rz that Chelsea have squad depth, but Arsenal have one of the best starting eleven in the PL atm. PS: Wenger said he'll play at least 2 subs (Gnabry for sure), but he'll not go crazy like against WBA when he started only Mertesacker from first eleven.

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October will pick one "not to loose" acca, will be hoping on no big surprises and play rest in play and depending on team sheets... man u @1.33 - you cannot tell anymore which is man u first team, what ever moyes picks it will be like first team :D, they should be stronger to see of norwich at trafford... spurs @1.36 - avb takes every cup pretty seriously, they are at home, they played them all ready, i don`t think hull, even they might looking for unfair revenge, will be strong enough with depleted squad trouble spurs... burnley +1 @1.40 - even though, burnley haven`t beat irons in their 10 cup meetings, this time burnley are in form, coming from 8 straight wins whereas west ham coming from game with swansea 48 hrs ago, neither table position flatters, so sam might be reserved here, anyway, don`t see westham winning here.... stoke +1 @1.25 - hughes said, to go as far as they can in cups is priority from start of the season alongside to do well in epl... that`s seems about it what stoke can achieve as well, so pretty strong outfit shouldn`t loose here.... chelsea + 1 @1.44 - both does well and have only guess what teams will be, but chelsea`s second team is strong enough not to loose against, most likely, arsenal`s mixture of youngsters and first teamers ...mighty be another penalty shootout here... this accumulator is @ 4.60 with paddypower, i am going for 5% of my betting fund... didn`t touch, in form, leicester game vs allways joel`s first xi in cup games, could go either way imo.. and will be interesting what team will bring out pellegrini, with tough game after so soon to bounce back, then things doesn`t go that well neither in defence , neither away from home vs pretty much very strong newcastle... the best in cups to play in play and i`ll be in london... ( i mean connected to ... :D )

You'd have to say Norwich look decent value to get something at Old Trafford. I wouldn't want to be on United odds on in the fourth priority cup competition with the way they're playing. I like the look of Birmingham over Stoke. Stoke probably aren't that interested in the league cup as they're already big relegation candidates and aren't great travelers. They look poor value as favorites away.

as a brum fan I wouldn't back us with my money,we are a poor side and will be missing our best and perhaps only creative player tomorrow chris burke, also jesse lingard cant play and our midfield enforcer tom adeyembi will be on the bench at best.stoke should have enough to win this even if they make wholesale changes as they do have more quality as we are basically a team of freebies and loanees

The UK isn't quite the apocalyptic wasteland the Daily Mail would have you believe ;)..should be no problem getting the games on.
:rollin:rollin:rollin Arsenal v Chelsea After this game gunners host Liverpool which is a much bigger game for them than Newcastle away is for Mourinho (he'll probably be confident of the result there). Taking into consideration also that Arsenal are top of the league and Arsene, because of squad depth and other various factors has largely been using the same players over and over again, I see this as the match where he is forced to rest the ones who have played x amount of games in a row. The situation is the opposite for Chelsea who have all these "big players" who have been warming the bench for most of the season. The key is that both will probably make a reasonable amount of changes here and you know that Arsenal will lose a lot more experience and quality with every change than Chelsea will. So we just have to wait and see how MANY changes Arsene makes as Mourinhos changes imho will not be that important, because he has players like Mata, Eto', Willian, Luiz, Schwarzer, Essien to throw at a Cup match. While Arsenal don't have these sort of players waiting in the wings. They have good technical youngsters which are in the Arsenal mold, but I don't think they are capable of beating Chelsea in 90mins so I'll echo the above sentiments. Bottom line, if Arsene makes alot of changes then back Chelsea + 0.5 AH. If he only changes 1 or 2 then disregard this bet. :ok

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October 3pts Arsenal to beat Chelsea 15/8 BetVictor The fact Arsenal are getting desperate for a trophy makes me think we might see a stronger side put out than usual from Arsene Wenger here. Jose Mourinho has committed to a lot of changes and given their scheduling I think he’ll be true to his word so Arsenal could actually be significantly stronger going into this match which makes a small bet on them worthwhile. Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October What are peoples thoughts on Man UTD V Norwich? Surely Moyes can do without an early cup exit, Norwich haven't been great either and could probably do with concentrating on the league rather than the cup. I am considering taking UTD on a -1 Handicap (9/10 with BetVictor). A few UTD players who want to prove their worth a starting place will get an outing, mainly Hernandez who will want to impress. Thoughts please?

icon1.png Re: Tottenham Hotspur v Hull City > Sunday October 27th

After a first look at the fixtures I thought this looked good for a Europa-leage inspired upset, but I think Hull will really struggle here. They have players missing all over the park, with MacGregor a big miss. Then there is chester from defence, which means 35-year old Faye is playing. From midfield Livermore is ineligible, and playmaker Brady has a hernia, and if he plays he probably wont be 100%. Up fromt 2 of the 3 strikers are out. Also, Bruce sets all his teams up to be ultra-defensive, especially away from home, so expect them to line up in a 9-0-1 formation and dont expect there to be a plan B. Yes spurs got creamed by West Ham after their last europe league away game, but that was after riding their luck through an hour´s worth of spurs pressure. I dont think Hull will manage to hold out, and I think spurs will learn from their experience with west ham. I have spurs to win to nil at 1.96 and spurs -1.5 on the AH at 2.2, both on
>Betfair
.

So I've pasted this post from the weekend's EPL fixture where they won from an 80th minute penalty and basically sat back for 90 mins and almost got their 0-0 result. The above sums up the current Hull situation really well and I can't imagine it would have improved much in a couple of days. That alone wouldn't inspire me to back Spurs but... all this will be compounded by the fact that Hull have a home game vs Sunderland at the weekend which surely they'll be targeting as an important fixture where points must be taken. They really don't need this competition as an ongoing distraction. All this equals Bruce mixing and matching an already depleted squad with Sunderland in mind and I'm predicting a weak line-up. To ram this one home, Spurs have that great squad depth we all mention and this will serve them well here with quality replacing quality. Spurs are also in the rhythm of playing midweek fixtures so this won't jade them whereas with Hull's problems and coming off a loss at the very same ground, they won't be wanting this... :ok PS Spurs have much more time between this and their next match than Hull.

maurinho allready winging that, it`s not fair and as a protest he will be putting out chelsea`s u - 21 :D
Mourinho revealed that he considered fielding a youth side against the Gunners, but opted against it. "It's not the plan," said the Portuguese. "We have to respect also our fans. "We discussed that in the club. (But) we have to protect our players. We are going to try to do our job and we will do our job the best we can."

If Chelsea really are fielding a weakened team' date=' should Arsenal's odds be as high as 3.25?[/quote'] Both sides will probably rotate heavily though. Goals would be the best option here IMO. Lots of changes, neither as defensively sound as they could be with still plenty if talent on show and nothing to lose. Should be an open game.

Norwich dissapionted me with Cardiff result(lost my money:sad) really thought win that game and with that mind can't see anything other than a loss, lost 4 last 6 prem and once score 1st last 7. Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October To me the value bet here Burnley to beat West Ham. Great win for Burnley over QPR on weekend, and they will really be up for this game. No Squad rotation or resting players. These guys will be at it 100%. West Ham have shown me nothing this season. They seem to have no creativity, and the 0-3 against Spurs will go down next to Villa's opening win over Arsenal as the 2 biggest fluke results of the season. Burnley to win at 6/4 bet365

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October Arsenal have serious injury woes. Yaya Sanogo, Abou Diaby, Lukas Podolski, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Mathieu Flamini. Also Giruoud will be rested and Arteta will be serving his suspension. While Chelsea also won't be fielding their 1st XI, their strength is in the depth of their squad, especially in an attacking sense, couple this with the lack of quality in Arsenals defensive replacements and I can see a Chelsea win here. 0-2 or 1-2 is my guess.

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October Like the look of the price available on Fulham and West Ham tonight. Up against both Burnley & Leicester who's priority has to be getting promotion to the Premier League. Both teams available at decent prices in my opinion. Burnley v West Ham - BACK West Ham @ 2/1 (Skybet) Leicester v Fulham - BACK Fulham @ 11/5 (Various)

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October Arsenal v Chelsea This will surely be a very open attack minded game and a chance for some of the fringe players to make an impression. Arsenal are scoring for fun at the moment, they have scored 8 goals in their last 4 games whilst Chelsea have scored 12 goals in their last 4 games.. Another reason for fancying the overs is Arsenal's defence, they have conceded in 3 of their last 4 games and an inexperienced team should be playing tonight. 9 of their last 11 head to head meetings have also gone Over 2.5! My only bet for tonight. Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.78 Betfair

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October Birmingham vs stoke fancy stoke to win here, birmingham few players out ,burke who seems one their key players( watching vs leeds couple week ago),in previous round vs Swansea, report suggest they should won or scored before Birmingham did, stoke I think need a win with 0 win 4 and 1 win 7,fail score 3 last 4 but can't see them not getting goals vs side kept 1 clean sheet 13, conceded 1st 4 last 5. stoke 0 win in 9 at st Andrews and fail score last 4 but prob due to score and win there. Bet: stoke win 21/20 William hill

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October It is clear that both teams are extremely tired and played in the European Cup and the championship and the cup still here. But both coaches have said that there will be rotation. However, the rotation of the rotation is different. Take Arsenal , Wenger said he would give space to young "gunners",resting its experienced players. Or rather of experienced today we should see striker Bendtner , Vermallen defender and the goalkeeper Fabianski. Overall, not bad , but wont be enough to beat Chelsea rotation structure , which according to preliminary apportionments should look something like this: Schwarzer - Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill, Bertrand - Essien, Obi Mikel, Willian, Mata - Eto'o - Ba Such a rotation! This can be in the Champions League and perform successfully in England for the first places. These players do not really get space in the first eleven, and therefore will be completely fresh. Oh, and Arsenal faces a lot of injuries: Theo Walcott (abdominal muscles) , Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Abou Diaby (both knee) , Lukas Podolski (hamstring) and Mathieu Flamini (groin). Last season Over 2,5 came in 6 of the 8 games , the average performance - 5 goals per game. Season before - 5 of 8 matches, the average performance 3.63 per game. Earlier - 5 of 8 and 3.60 per game. That is, even if you do not search deep into the archives and take only the last couple of seasons , it is obvious - Round 1/8 finals of the League Cup in England efficacious. And the matches , which met two top club (as here) , almost always with goals: Newcastle - Arsenal 0:4 ; Everton - Chelsea 1:2 ; Chelsea - Manchester United 5-4 ; Liverpool - Swansea 1:3. By the way , last season Arsenal at this stage played 5:7 with Reading :) Why are so efficacious these matches? The reasons are very simple , and I think they are relevant in this case. Because of the tight schedule of coaches top clubs in this games dont fiel regulars. They give space to reserves. Thus, on the face unbalanced compositions , and not played a ltos togheter since allowing more mistakes than usual. At the same time , the pressure for results is not as large as in the Champions League or Premier League , and hence - a bolder approach to the game , no one sits out pragmatically in defense, all play to win - sharp football. Arsenal - Chelsea just such a situation - because of the busy schedules of both coaches (and both have already voiced this at the press conferences) will not put basic team , but in the reserves and their star - class , for example at Chelsea at the heart of most just come out Eto'o , Mata , Willian - with great potential. And, importantly with a great desire to prove their capabilities to the coach. Well, H2H - in 5 of the last 6 derby between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates came Over 2,5. Tips: 1) Chelsea win at 2,30 Bet365 2) Chelsea Individual Total Over 1.5 2,0 Bet365 3) Over 2.5 1,65 Unibet

Re: Capital One Cup > 29th / 30th October Im waiting on team news for Stoke. I suspect Hughes will field a fairly string team with just 2-3 changes. I know he wants to have a good cup run so we should take this fairly seriously. Our big problem is scoring though and whilst I can't see us losing, I do worry about us not being able to get the goals we need. I expect Kenwyne Jones to start up front and hopefully it will give him the kick up the arse he needs. He did score a hatrick against Walsall in the earlier round after being left out so it might do the trick. Im tempted in backing Stoke but will wait for team news. It's the most important factor in these type of cup games.
