Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14

Recommended Posts

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 BTTS is an option in almost every Eredivisie match. But, the odds are very low (the odds for the GAE - Vitesse game for BTTS are currently around 1.35). So no value on that. Theo Janssen is indeed missing, he will be missed but is not irreplaceable againgst Go Ahead Agles.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 No thanks :) of course the results could have been different. PEC Zwolle were lucky to get a point against Groningen. GK Diederik Boer saved the day. The central defender, Darryl Lachman, played an outstanding game as well. Vitesse won their game pretty easily, but they got some help from the ref of course. GAE were pressing indeed, the penalty kick came at the right moment of course for Vitesse but the red card was very harsh. It killed the game, but I was fine with it. ;)

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 I was very curious to the odds of Feyenoord - PSV. PSV traditionally have a very hard time in De Kuip. Home advantage seems to be huge when these two teams meet. [TABLE=class: matches]

Both teams are extremely inconsistent and that scares me a little bit, but I do think Feyenoord can edge this. The PSV side is very young (if I remember correctly, the average age is about 21) and De Kuip is an intimidating venue to play. Will take a closer look at the other matches later on, but I think the 2.35 on Feyenoord represents some value.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14

Feyenoord represents some value.
I think they represent real value her but yes you never know with these Feyenoord bastards ;) What makes me hesitate the most is PSV's run of defeat's they have 4 defeats in a row in league away games now. AZ, Groningen AZ Roda and NAC. This run has got to come to an end at some point I think that is what the bookies are banking on. Cold stats analysis will tell you that Feyenoord have the best chances here. We just had the next major disaster against RKC away and the team had a big talk this weekend according to the press with lots of heated arguments. Apparently they are sick of the long balls on Pelle strategy and want to play in a more creative attack. If they are capable is a second. It reminds me of 2010 when there was this crisis after the big PSV defeat. There was a similar get together and it created a fighting spirit that took Feyenoord out of the crisis that year. I think this is a similar turning point. PSV also have more critical injuries; Willems,Matavz,Park and Wijnaldum. Rekik and Bruma, central defense duo of PSV, are former Feyenoord youth players who now play for PSV they will get the entire 45.000 public against them. It's like a sin of death at Feyenoord for players to transfer to PSV or Ajax they will be boo-ed untill infinity and the public will distract them as much as possible. It's hard to not make mistake and focus when 45.000 people are booing you at every move, plus they are young and young players are generally a bit impressed and overtaken by the Kuip, PSV have alot of youngsters with little experience in such stadiums. I think I will take the Feyenoord to win 2.35 odds @ Mybet. Another interesting bet is over 2.5 goals @ 1,64 Pinnacle. Because if we change our play style from long ball to creative attacking we will give away alot more space and I expect Maher or Toivonen definitely be able to score one goal as I do expect Pelle to at least make one or two goals against PSV's inexperienced defense. The odds are a bit low though so I am not to enthusiastic about the overs at the moment.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 So after tonight's defeat of PSV at Ludogorets in the Europa League, where PSV played with the strongest possible formation, confidence is nowhere to be found in Eindhoven. PSV played absolutely horrible.

So after tonight's defeat of PSV at Ludogorets in the Europa League' date=' where PSV played with the strongest possible formation, confidence is nowhere to be found in Eindhoven. PSV played absolutely horrible.[/quote'] Well Cocu said he will make changes and PSV will change some names and positions. Feyenoord will make changes too after their disaster. So the question is what will the changes be in PSVs case probably more defensively on the midfield. Both sides have a really low confidence which still makes this a tricky one. I think we should wait untill we know what changes PSV is going to make to the squad. Feyenoord is defintely going to ditch the kick and rush plan and play more oppertunistic Dutch style football which usually leads to more chances but also more chances for PSV. Lets see what PSV does to their squad and then I think we can make a final recommendation.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 Heerenveen - Go Ahead Eagles Some nice information for this match, all of Heerenveen's 3 central strikers are injured and will not be able to play in the match. That includes Finnbogason with his 11 matches played and 14 goals made. Finnbogason is the only reason Heerenveen are not in a relegation place at this moment. I find Heerenveen very weak even with the Icelandic wizard but he just keeps making the goals for them so they can get a decent few points. This is a good time to take a chance in the league of surprises. A chance is the right word because Go Ahead Eagles are nothing short of a terrible side as well. But you can see it as a fight between two relegation candidates without Finnbogason. They are actually only 3 points and 4 places apart. Go ahead hold place 13 and Heerenveen place 9. It definitely could go eitherway and Heerenveen can still beat this Go Ahead who have a very poor away record. They got smashed away against Ajax and NAC with respectively 6-0 and 5-0. But they are capable of winning and drawing here and there and are unbeaten at home for 4 games now. Now that Finnbogason is out the go ahead coach will them this is a once in a lifetime chance to get a point or 3 at Heerenveen. I think they will be motivated, ready and can grab a draw or win. I must say that this is very risky still. Go ahead are simply poor away but Heerenveen is now severely handicapped even thought they have a good record at home. I cannot really recommend this one as you have to be willing to take a substantial risk. I am placing a small stake on a straight Eagles win, feel the AH-x is not worth the risk of Heerenveen simply capping the Eagle's wings like NAC and Ajax did. It is about 2,00 @ various bookies but really that is not worth a medium stake. You can place a small stake on it but I rather take a long shot then for 6 times my stake. Good luck. 1 unit @ Eagles to win @ 6.00 Mybet

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 Ado Den Haag - Heerenveen Midweek game in the Eredivisie tonight. Ado away is for any club in the Eredivisie traditionally a tough game. Ado have beaten title contenders Twente and Vitesse at home just a few weeks back and got demolished 0-4 by Ajax past weekend. I have to say I really do not like ADO's squad and there was a lot of luck involved in their wins over Vitesse and Twente. In both games they won although the opposing side had the better of the play and the chances. Heerenveen have always struggled in Den Haag but for the past years ADO had some reasonable players. They play a very opportunistic 4-3-3 formation with only one defensive midfielder against every side at home and against Vitesse and Twente who lack a really good target man this bluff worked out but I rate both wins as rather lucky. Against Ajax they were smashed as they play way to attacking for their own capabiliy. It's a bluff game they play and I do not think this will work against Heerenveen who have one of the best offenses in the league. The good news for the Frisians is that Finnbogason is back and this is what is will make this game interesting. Heerenveen struggles to get points away from home but funnily enough if they win they can get to the 4th place. I cannot imagine a bigger motivation for them. I think the edge is with the Frisians. Ado's squad consists of inexperienced young players with some own youth and players that were not good enough for any decent Eredivisie side. They have 2 talented attackers none the less, van Duinen and Gehrt who proved they can score against the likes of Vitesse and Twente but they will be missing target man Kramer as he suspended for this game. So what to make out of this one well Heerenveen play this typical offensive Dutch football style 4-3-3 as well and both teams have a really poor defense. So this style goes hand in hand with an open game for both sides and lots of chances. Considering for both teams the goalscorers are on the field tonight there is a good chance it will be a game with a lot of goals. I expect Heerenveen to have the edge though they simply have the better squad now that Finnbogason is back. It will not be an easy matter though Heerenveen haven't won in Den Haag since 2008. But with the motivation to get 4th place and ADO still in shambles after Ajax walked over them, I think this is an excellent chance for Heerenveen to grab some points. I think this is a very tough game to recommend anything so if you do not feel like taking a risk just let it pass there will be better chances in the weekend. The over 3.5,Heerenveen to win and Finnbogason to score at any time offers some value in this game but the over 3.5 is rather short priced. Personally I think Heerenveen to win is a good offer but with the opportunistic style of both teams it will really depend on who get's the crucial 1-0 in. Perhaps it is better to watch it and see if ADO are still shaking from the Ajax defeat or ready for revenge. If Heerenveen have the better of the play in the first 20 minutes I think they are definitely worth a pun. Finnbogason is the Eredivisie's most talented striker and top scorer and he will get his chances tomorrow against one of the poorest defenses in the league with a total 34 goals conceded in 14th games. Bets to consider: Over 3.5 goals @ 2.30 Pinnacle Heerenveen to win @ 2.36 Pinnacle Finnbogason to score at anytime @ 2.10 Unibet In-Play Heerenveen to win.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 That was a terrible uninspiring performance from Heerenveen. If van Basten cannot motivate his team to win when there is a 4th place at stake then he lacks some essential coach´s quality. Heerenveen seem doomed to lose left right and center when they play away. They play like scared rabbits on unfamiliar ground, that game was a pain in the ass to watch. Somehow I keep believing in them but they can be a profitable bunch of scared rabbits when you lay them in away games. They have only won one away game so far I guess I should have believed in the stats and not in the players. Anyway on to the weekend there will be some good ones I will preview on friday or so.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 One game for tonight. I don´t have time for big previews but I will try to put the essentials in. Utrecht - NEC One of the best home turf defenders of the league, FC Utrecht, take on relegation candidate NEC tonight. I am quite surprised to see that I can still almost double my money ( best odd 1,96 ) when I would pick a straight Utrecht win. Utrecht on a current 9th place with 21 points with almost all of those points earned in their own stadium. In fact they are the 2nd strongest team at home, after Ajax, with an undefeated record at home and 5 wins and 2 draws out of 7 games. NEC is in last place with 12 points and the league weakest defense with 39 goals conceded so far. Both NEC and Utrecht are amongst the weakest teams when it comes to playing outside of their own ground. Utrecht however seems to regain some composure by winning away against Heracles Almelo last week who are really tough to tackle in their own stadium so give them credit for that. But we are playing this game in Utrecht tonight so the advantage is obvious. Utrecht knows this is probably a great chance to earn a relatively easy 3 points as next week PSV come to visit in the Galgenwaard and it will be not so easy to gain something from that game. So the pick is obvious but what makes these odd so high. Utrecht have a number of injuries but none of them absolutely critical to influence this game much. Key players and Topscorers, De ridder and Toornstra ( star player and was selected for Dutch national team ) are not injured, only the loss of Mulenga is a bit of a downer as he is a plague to any weak defense but with the current squad they should be able to do the job. Toornstra has a history of scoring against weak defenses when Utrecht plays at home. He did so against Roda, Heerenveen and Breda and I think he should be able to make a goal against NEC but this obviously a risky bet. NEC are free of injuries. So what do I make out of the teams. NEC is a fighting side, regardless of their poor record and lack of football quality they have recently managed a draw against Twente away ( 2-2 ) and Heracles (1-1) but lost away to promoted side Cambuur and Go Ahead Eagles who are amongst the poorest teams in the league. NEC play with a good attitude and with a fighting spirit but I have a high opinion of the Utrecht team and they themselves always put up a great fight and game in their own stadium. I don´t see what can influence the outcome of this game other than simply bad luck but I think Utrecht have proven they have the quality to defeat the number last in the league in their own Stadium. Bets to consider: Utrecht to win - 1,96 @ Pinnacle Toornstra to score anytime - 3,2 @ Unibet

Well that is if Heerenveen delivers at all. I have seen them play against ADO on wednesday and that was an absolutely dreadful performance by them, Finnbogason displayed absolutely nothing. The Feynoord defense is in much better shape than it was at the start of the season so the stats might be a little deceiving. However in the Media today there were reports that our most talented and current Dutch national team defender, De Vrij, might not play as he was sick in training today. Nothing is confirmed however. BTTS is interesting but I doubt the odds offer much value as this is to be expected. The odds on 2.5 look decent but after seeing Heerenveen play on wednesday and Feyenoord demolish PSV on Sunday I do fancy the straight Feyenoord win. I will look into it in the weekend.

I will look into it in the weekend.[/quote'] I second that, I think they had one shot on target all game!

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 RKC Waalwijk - SC Cambuur This Saturday RKC Waalwijk hosts a team from up north, SC Cambuur. For Dutch standards it's a pretty long trip from Cambuur to Waalwijk, Dutch teams travel by bus so that might be something worth noticing. I am still not convinced by Cambuur and slowly but surely they're dropping to the relegation places in the Eredivisie. Still waiting for their first away win; lost six, drew two. Only managed to score two goals in eight matches away from home. RKC on the other hand are on the beginning of some sort of mini revival. It is by far the most awful team to watch in the Eredivisie. They just sit back and wait, wait and wait for that one chance. It is truly disgraceful. But, they do get results: they lost only one of their last five matches, winning two of them. They managed to get a win against Feyenoord at home and drew away to PEC Zwolle 1-1, though they were very lucky. Especially in the first half they were massively outplayed by PEC. PEC hit the bar two times, and they hit the post one time. PEC managed to rest with a 1-0 lead, but just one chance gave RKC the 1-1 and they managed to hold on to that. You do not want to be a fan of that team for the style of play (no offence), but they are getting some results. Based on that, I'd say there is value on the home win. Cambuur dropping, RKC rising atm. RKC to win @ 2.25 (mybet) is decent in my opinion. Go Ahead Eagles - PEC Zwolle Sunday is the 'biggest' match in Holland, when PEC Zwolle crosses the IJssel, a local river, to meat their rivals from Deventer, Go Ahead Eagles. Go Ahead Eagles fans stole the plate that PEC Zwolle got for winning the Jupiler League, the Dutch First Division, two years ago. The rivalry is back on again and the players from both sides will be sharp and on the edge. PEC Zwolle has way more quality than GAE, but of course it's a derby and you never know. Plus, GAE are getting some decent results, although I still expect them to go down this season. GAE are missing their striker and captain Marnix Kolder. They really missed him against Heracles Almelo last Wednesday. He will be missed against PEC Zwolle too. At PEC Zwolle, there are some doubts about midfielder Mateusz Klich and their new revelation Ryan Thomas, who recently signed a new contract which will keep him at PEC Zwolle until 2018. If these two players will play, PEC Zwolle is my favorite for sure. I think they have a better player on every position, but it is a derby and anything can happen. Keep an eye on the injuries of Mateusz Klich and Ryan Thomas. If Klich plays, then the midfield Mokotjo - Klich - Drost will be too much for GAE to handle, I think. PEC Zwolle (DNB) @ 1.85 (Ladbrokes) FC Groningen - ADO Den Haag ADO Den Haag are never going to get more than a point at Groningen. Groningen seems unbeatable at home, while ADO Den Haag lost their last five matches away from home and conceded eleven goals in their last three matches away from home. They scored just once. Groningen on the other hand are still 'waiting' for their first home defeat. They drew against Ajax (1-1) and defeated PSV (1-0) and AZ Alkmaar (2-1). Especially beating AZ is a pretty good achievement. They already showed that they can play against the lower teams of the League, beating RKC Waalwijk 4-1. Groningen has some really, really good players upfront. Their striker Zivkovic is a remarkable talent and their winger Kostic is a hot prospect too. I expect nothing but a win for Groningen. Groningen -1 @ 2.70 (mybet)

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14

One game for tonight.
Pick won :cigar 2-0, Toornstra did not score but like I said in the preview that 2nd bet was risky.

I really like these bets too. RKC is on the move forward, and will only get stronger. Koeman is a good coach and with the return of Sno they got more quality in their team. Cambuur is a typical home team and away they suffered many losses. I think RKC has the better team and in the likes of Braber, Duits and Sno they have some decent experience. They are quite solid at home even won against feyenoord. It was lucky in the end but they played pretty good. I expect a strong performance and I will also back the home win with medium stakes! Groningen is a must bet for me. Not even because they are still unbeaten in the league and usually strong at home but more because Ado is so piss poor. I keep saying this every year, they really can't help it because there is absolutely no budget at the club or what so ever. But damn, they will struggle again against relegation and I watched the game on wednesday against Heerenveen. They scored a lucky goal because the goalie made a huge mistake otherwise they would never score a goal. Heerenveen did not play well at all and their defense looked shaky even against Ado. That's why I also fancy feyenoord to win though. Anyways, Groningen is pretty good this year and recent results were not that great but perfect match to boost their confidence with a great win over Ado. Recent H2H also favors them. Medium stakes home win and small stakes on the -1.5 handicap as well! I will not bet on this derby game between Go ahead vs Zwolle cause there are many other games with better odds imo but I also think that Zwolle will not loose here. They dropped some points lately, obviously they are not a top team and don't have such a wide squad or big budget. But they played really well so far and were unlucky last round. Ron Jans made them a decent side and they should have too much for Go ahead. Go ahead is a strange side, they can get results in the toughest fixtures but mostly because they were the dogs. Playing on the counter suits them and I think their home crowd will not give them the support to just sit back and relax. They are pretty fanatic and will scream the team forward. Zwolle is better in their positioning play and should find some space at the back. If I would make a bet in this game it would be over 2.5 goals and Zwolle to win. Heerenveen vs Feyenoord. Like I said, I watched the game against Ado a few days ago. Heerenveen played really bad, Their coach admitted that and said he was satisfied with a draw because of the late equaliser. Lol, against ado? With their squad and the return of Finbogasson they should have raped Ado without some important players. Finbogasson missed every single ball and played without any confidence. If he plays like that I will bet my house on feyenoord but we never know for sure. Their possesion play was terrible and they lost the ball more times than they completed a pass. Ado like always tried to counter attack and made the most out of it. Heerenveen at home is different than away, I agree. At home they usaually play pretty attacking football and score a lot of goals. But, because of their pressure in the early game they leave huge gaps at the back of their defense and with the speed Feyenoord has on the wings this could end bad for Heerenveen. If feyenoord scores an early goal I think they will win here quite comfortable. If not than I hope Pelle will be decisive again. He scored some goals lately [finally] and he should be eager to get on the scoresheet again. Last year Feyenoord lost this fixture because of the fact Pelle was missing. He is so important for their style of play and with Heerenveen's defense even long balls will cause damage. I expect Feyenoord to finally step up their game away from home cause damn, they have to deliver this year. I'm not even a Feyenoord fan but it would be great for such a big club with such loyal crowd to achieve something big. If de vrij is missing, I would only cheer. :D I dont rate this guy at all. Martins Indi will move to the center and I think Nelom will take his place. Anyways, feyenoord to win is my call here and if they loose than Heerenveen have to be 200% to beat them. Ajax hosting NAC. Ajax is on fire lately, getting some amazing results and their confidence grew every game. They finally reached their normal level and things can only get better if you ask me. They almost always loose their best players every year so they needed some time to adapt. Coach Frank de Boer always kept faith in his players and things are finally working out for him. He found his best 11, Bojan is fit again so that's also a big boost. This guy is pure quality, although he was not that good lately. He needs time ofcourse, different culture, country food etc. That's normal and I expect him to deliver well soon. He scored a goal last game so that's good for him and the team. Recent years ajax started to win games after the winter break but they already started now. I expect a strong performance before the Milan game. And there is no better feeling than winnings your last game comfortable at home and than to travel to Milan. They face a terrible away side in NAC. Typical home team and they fail miserable on the road game after game. Like they tell eachother in the bus, guys lets get this over with as fast as possbile. They look dreadfull on the pitch without their crowd behind them. They concede a lot of goals and will miss their topscorer Poepon for this game too. I don't think they can handle the possesion play of ajax well, and will have huge troubles to keep the ball in their possesion. It will be one way traffic and if ajax scores a early goal than this will get painfull for NAC without a doubt. Odds reflect this ofcourse, bookies expect a easy victory but no problem. Good for combo's and ajax -1.5 handicap still has some value for me. Goodluck all

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 Senk could you include odds if you recommend a bet? Only have time for short comments but I will give my opinion on todays matches. Ajax vs NAC. This game in which it looks so obvious to take a handicap, just like against Ajax - RKC ( 0-0 result ) is a game I will avoid. Youthful instability is what I expect and NAC is a very cheeky side that obviously do not have the quality to bet on but can with the right amount of luck score one or two goals and gone is the handicap. It is tricky Ajax are steamrolling but how many times through the years I have seen them do that for 2 or 3 games and then all of a sudden play 1-1 or 0-0 at home. I do not trust Ajax that much tonight and I am staying out of it but good luck with the AH. AZ Alkmaar vs Twente Now this was my favourite game to bet on, on AZ straight win as they have imo the best team in the eredivisie. But I found out AZ have two critical injuries on the midfield, Elm and Gudelj both are a huge factor on the stability and dominance of their team. I still expect Alkmaar to win this but I find it to risky with the hits they took on the midfield I cannot risk they simply get outplayed by Twente that dominates the midfield today due to the loss of controlling stability. So another stay away game for me but last minute weakness of mind might persue me to take AZ the AZ winn @ 3,0 Mybet find it very juicy. Waalwijk vs Cambuur Can't feel any enthusiasm on this one either Waalwijk are so instable. Yes they beat Feyenoord with the luckiest win of 2013 but also got beat by Go Ahead Eagles and Roda at home not too long ago and the latter defeats just counts toward great instability for me. Cambuur is very poor away but even a blind dog finds a bone every now and again. I expect them to fight today and find these teams more than capable to draw against eachother. PSV vs Vitesse Wow I do not remember the day I could get a 2,05 odd for a PSV home win against Vitesse! It's like seeing water burning and this odd is looking really juicy to me. Obviously the bookies have lost faith in PSV. But I haven't definitely not at home in the Philips stadium. They have 16 goals for and 3 goals against in 7 home games. It shows they are not that poor actually at home. Only Vitesse's wins against Ajax and Heerenveen stand out but these were incredibely lucky wins against an ajax that was not in shape and against a heerenveen that deserved to win. Vitesse have also drawn Roda, and lost to Ado and RKC away so I do believe PSV have every chance in this one. They do miss some critical players but have my favourit 4 attackers up front Locadia, Depay, Narsingh and Maher and each of them bring alot of speed and dynamism. Finally cocu plays with 2 real controlling midfielders, instead of 2 attacking and leaving me to believe he got wiser now and PSV will play alot more stable. Throwing out the poor in form Toivionen is also the best decision he could make now. All in all I expect PSV to win this one as in my opinion Vitesse are overvaluated at this moment. Taking PSV to win @ 2,05 Pinnacle

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 PEC Zwolle V Heerenveen + 0.25 @ 2.025 - bet365. Good draw cover here IMO and it might be a bit crazy to take Heerenveen right now after their last two performances but I feel this is the right time to be playing PEC Zwolle. They haven't won in five and are suffering a bit for form. Tonight they'll be without midfielder Mustafa Sayek as well as striker Guyon Fernandez (although he's been out since early November). I fancy Heerenveen to pick up at least a point here as they can't play as badly as they have done and PEC Zwolle aren't one of the better sides in this league, coming off a patch of poor form.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 I see ADO HW. In the last match they won in difficult terrain in Groningen. As hosts had tough opponents (Heerenven and Ajax). While Ajax lost deservedly, is to "hearts" lost goal in the final minutes. Today contender less demanding no respect in recent games some spektakuarnych results. I think the break the hosts and the win. Do you have any information about injuries, deficiencies?
