Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 My picks for tomorrow: SC Cambuur Leeuwarden - AFC Ajax With the current Ajax form and their level of play I think Ajax is the favorite here. However I like the odds on Cambuur alot. Ajax have had a really tough and mentally exhausting Champions league game against Milan this week and after such a game I believe there is a possibility that they will under perform. For the past years every year around this time before the winter break ajax have dropped points to make their infamous comeback for the title. Both Cambuur and Ajax have no critical injuries altough Ajax have Siem de Jong injured which is a loss for them as he is in the top 3 of goalscorers but they have a good enough bench to replace him. Obviously Ajax is the favorite but I think it is advisable to more often than not seek the value in this league as every week there seem to be alot of suprises. Cambuur at home are simply a challenge for any team in the eredivisie. They play opportunistic fighting football and with the right amount of luck they can get a result against Ajax. They have won at home against Groningen, Utrecht and Heracles which is quite impressive for a promoted side. They barely lost against Twente ( 0-1 ). I will take either the Cambuur DNB @ 4,7 Unibet or the Cambuur EH+1 @ 2,6 Bet365. Feyenoord - FC Groningen Feyenoord is finally back in shape and found their feet in the past 2 games by defeating Heerenveen away, which is together with Ajax away one of the hardest games for my Team, and PSV at home. I expect them to continue this success tomorrow as they have really build up their confidence level. Groningen is quite a decent team that should not be underestimated and the price on the 1x2 odds are quite short on Feyenoord. Groningen have one important midfielder injured but he is of no decisive quality to the team and Feyenoord are at full strength. I expect a Feyenoord team that finally realizes it has got real title chances this year. So a very aggressive and attacking approach must be expected. Historically this is one of the easier fixtures for us when we have a quality team which is the case at the moment. I expect Groningen to crumble under the pressure of the Kuip crowd and Feyenoord's attacking pressure. The average age of their defenders is around 22/23 which is perfect for Feyenoord as these young players are more often that not really prone to mistakes under the crowd pressure and it is helpful when there are no real experienced defenders. I expect there will be a red card for one of the younger defenders. In a similar game against Twente in which Groningen got trashed 5-0 they took a red card. I am taking Feyenoord-1 EH @ 1,91 and perhaps Feyenoord -2 EH @ 3,30 both at Paddypower. Other possible bets are red card or a penalty given. I have yet to look up these odds I will try to add them later. Jean-Peal Boëtius and Graziano Pellé are the two attacking players in form and I expect a goal of both and will probably take Boëtius to score at anytime too. Heracles Almelo - AZ Alkmaar I fancy the odds on AZ here they are quite good for a Heracles that is not performing good at all this year at home. AZ have one of the best teams in the league but suffer from two important injuries Elm and Gudelj are huge misses on the midfield and if they were playing I would take this bet straight away. However in the game against Twente which they lost in the 90th minute or so at home last week it showed just how important these two are for the balance on their midfield. However Heracles is extremely weak at home this season with only 1 win so far and losses against alot of teams which have less quality players than AZ. In fact Heracles is the weakest team at home in the eredivisie with only 1 win in 7 game in their stadium. I do think AZ can still win without the 2 players mentioned but it will be alot tougher and Heracles will certainly get their chances. The attack and defense of AZ are however still of very good quality for eredivisie standards and much better than Heracles'. I think this will give the edge to AZ and therefore I will take: AZ to win AH+0,5@ 2,20 Pinnacle. Vitesse Arnhem - NAC Breda Well here is an interesting match up with one of the best home teams vs one of the worst away teams. Obviously Vitesse are favorites for this match and any EH or AH will be a logical pick for this match. However there is one catch in my opinion and that is NAC's 4-0 defeat in Amsterdam last week. I expect them not to make the same mistake twice and that is to try anything remotely in terms of attacking football against Vitesse. I think they will simply try to hold their ground as much as possible and try to prevent Vitesse from scoring goals. NAC is not all that bad as they get good results at home but away they forget they are better of playing anti football instead of trying to play pressure as they do not have the quality for that. I think Vitesse will have a tough opponent in a very defensive NAC that will try antyhing to prevent another humiliation. NAC have their two top strikers Poepon and Verbeek injured Vitesse are at full strength minus Theo Janssen who is still the best midfielder and their free kick specialist. My feeling strangely enough is to take a +1 EH on NAC at around 4,00 @ Mybet. However this is quite an insane thing to do however what is logical in this league anway? Surprises happen every week. I think it is objectively much better to take Vitesse on a handicap but the odds are so short I don't think it is worth the money. I think NAC will do everything in their power to prevent Vitesse from scoring and perhaps with a bit of luck get a result. I think I will skip it but if I have that strong feeling still tomorrow I might give it a long shot. Utrecht - PSV The current road to financial independence in the Eredivisie seems to be to lay PSV at every possible chance. It might be counter intuitive as last week I still backed them only to see them give away a shocking 3 goals in the space of 5 minutes when the scoreboard said 2-3 to Vitesse and closed with 2-6 to Vitesse, a game so bad I have never seen such a thing from PSV in my life. It was this display and the loss against a mediocre Ukrainian team in the UEFA league this week that makes me not bet on this team again. Their attack is not delivering anything in the past weeks and their defense is getting worse by the match. Utrecht are the 2nd strongest teams in the eredivisie when it comes to home matches having won 6 of their last 8 games at home and draw 2. The Odds are quite good on Utrecht. I will take the 3,2 @ Paddypower for a straight Utrecht win. I am still considering a handicap either in favour of Utrecht of PSV it will depend for me at the line-up and the possible changes Cocu will make to his team. There is a draw risk as important defender Bruma returns and PSV wil have slightly more defensive stability. Park returns but Schaars is now injured so on the midfield they will struggle even more to keep the balance as they have way too many attacking players. Their best attacking players Matavz and Wijnaldum are still injured. Depay,Locadia and Narsingh are not delivering at all. Utrecht have quite some injuries but none of them to a critical defender or attacker. Their best players are able to play tomorrow. Objectively there is no reason to even consider a draw anymore but still PSV remains a bit dangerous with Park and Bruma back in the line up. I think it's safe to say PSV will not win at Utrecht and I think I am best off taking a straight Utrecht win at the previous mentioned odd. If the line up tomorrow holds any surprises I might consider a last minute draw possibility.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 That was a disastrous day I think I will leave this league for now it's really difficult to get anything here on a steady basis. Teams are just too instable. I will focus my attention on the 2nd league which seems full of logical results.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14

How is it unstable 4 of the 5 favorites won and Heracles weren't a massive underdog!
You want to be smart now? If the favorite PSV last week loses 2-6 at home to the underdog then wins the next away game 1-5 against the best performing home team of the league then you tell me a similar league where this sort of nonsense happens? Utrecht did not lose a home game in 8 matches suddenly loses with shocking numbers to a team that themselves have not won a game in 2 months. Heracles is the worst performing home team in the league before this game they had 1 win in 8 matches at home yet they beat AZ which is one of our best teams and together with Ajax the only team left in Europe. If you win only 1 of your 8 home games and you face one of the strongest teams in the league you are the massive underdog. Then Ajax plays their worst away game to date according the coach and gets a 93rd minute totally undeserved win against Cambuur. Nac gives Vitesse a match and barely loses by one goal. Feyenoord,AZ and Cambuur all have the better chances and fail to deliver the goals, it was an unlucky day for me and you come tell me aftewards that it was perfectly logical, very impressive.

I agree this league is very unstable at the minute.... Not that I know too much! It just seems lots of teams are in transition and Vitesse have capitalized on that. They seem to be playing with confidence and have some good players. Cambuur didn't look that bad to me though when they played Vitesse, so maybe its no surprise NAC got a couple of goals today as all they needed was the rub of the green. PSV have been poor for a while, clearly in transition.

Who knows what will happen next week it seems teams make a 180 performance turn each week. Ajax played fantastic last week, terrible today and deserved nothing. PSV played their worst match in ages last week and their best match in about a year today, they could have won 0-10 against Utrecht who had not even lost a match at home this season. NAC deserved a draw today and AZ had plenty more chances than Heracles but get a very unlucky goal right at the start of the match then they dominate the game but fail to score. Then a late goal in the 95th minute when they play all or nothing and it seems Heracles deserved it but that is total nonsense. I take my hands off it untill it stabilizes a bit because no team performs steadily at all at the moment. But I invite Themanwithtestats to predict the correct outcomes of the matches next weekend as he clearly saw this coming and after all the games could tell exactly that this was a perfectly expected outcome as his favourits won. That is so impressive too bad he did not tell us beforehand!

I was just pissed off that 3 of my bets with value got so close and have the better of the chances but don´t make the necessary goals ;) Maybe an objective Punter new to this league could probably make a better tipster than someone who is been following it all his life. Some foundations of this league are being shook with PSV being the biggest pain in the ass at the oment. I think anyone from this country yesterday would have told you to lay psv and most would have layed heracles as well due to their record but the suprises keep happening every week I guess that is the only stable factor in this league. I am having a small go at the Jupiler today and if that fails too just ban me :clap

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 Yeah well it's not that Cambuur created much chances. The win of Ajax is totally undeserved, but it happens. Vitesse just has too much quality and their win wasn't undeserved at all. PSV is an unexperienced team, but I believe their squad definitely has the most talent of the whole Eredivisie. They just lack the experience. Then you get results like these. Let me remind you of one of your sentences: 'However this is quite an insane thing to do however what is logical in this league anway? Surprises happen every week.' Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

This is just quite easy to say after the games are concluded and the result is known. But join in next time before the games start I think you can give some good advice :ok

It was already known before the crisis hit PSV. PSV had quite a flawless start of the season. But there is a reason why I don't put my views on that often... ;) Eredivisie is a pain to analyze, maybe not even worth analyzing at all.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 RKC Waalwijk V FC Twente Both to score = YES @ 1.72 - bet365. The both to score odds here appeal as the market expects Twente to win three or four nil. RKC Waalwijk have not failed to score at home this season so far against some good opponents. They've scored against Feyenoord, AZ and Vitesse so far at home. Twente too have an impressive record away from home, having only failed to score once, versus Vitesse (who we all know have been very impressive this season, and currently lead the table). Twente have also conceded at least once in all but two of their away fixtures this season, and four out of their last five away league fixtures have resulted in both sides scoring.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 This is an absolute beauty of a game for me. I am strongly leaning towards RKC getting a result out of this one, thats why I will definetly back them to score @ 1.57 (bet365) and BTTS as you suggested. Otherwise I will also take a smaller punt of 4 units on RKC or DRAW @ 2.8 (bet365). Now this is ridding on a gut feeling, especially backed by my experience from dutch football. (So do not go over the top on it) The value is there, and RKC have proved to be a tough nut to crack, now being on an unbeaten streak. Twente are running hot, but they had a couple of tough away matches in previous weeks, i am not implying they will be tired, but such games take a toll on the team, and especialy ridding into a "must win" game adds some pressure after good shows. RKC on the other hand are temping their form to avoid relegation, and they realised home ground is the place to secure their spot in next seasons top division. Im backing them purely on value and their ability to upset at home ground. Twente will most likely score, but there are goals in RKC as well.

1-1 FT. bet won :ok credit allthethings as RKC were tough but I've no idea how that game didn't go over....

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 MASSIVE value on NAC Breda tonight when they face Cambuur Leeuwarden at home. They are currently 2.36 on Betfair and that's an absolute bet for me. I think the odd is high because NAC is on a losing streak (three defeats in four matches). But those three games were away matches against Twente, Ajax and Vitesse. Not the easiest opponents of course. At home NAC is undefeated for six matches in a row now, winning four of the last five at home. They already defeated AZ (3-0) and PSV (2-1), but defeated Go Ahead Eagles too (5-0). I think Go Ahead Eagles is around the same level as Cambuur Leeuwarden, though Eagles may have a bit more attacking opportunities. Cambuur rely heavily on their striker Michiel Hemmen who's scored seven or eight already if I remember correctly (to lazy to look it up haha). Cambuur played really well at home against Ajax and really deserved a point, but Ajax scored an ugly goal in the 92nd minute. But, that was at home where Cambuur plays on artificial grass which might be in their advantage. They also played a midweek cup match against Utrecht at home, which they lost 0-2. Slowly but surely they're going down towards the 18th place. They still haven't won an away game this year, losing four of the last five. Their last away game was at RKC Waalwijk, where they managed to get a 2-2 draw. Breda is pretty far away from Leeuwarden, so they have to travel a long way. On top of that they played a match 72 hours before this one. The only thing that worries me is that three of their four defenders are not available against NAC Breda due to injury and/or suspension. These players are Kenny van der Weg, Henrico Drost and Sepp de Roover. They will be missed, but I think Cambuur doesn't have enough to cause NAC big problems. Cambuur scored four goals in nine away matches, not hitting the net in six of those. Maybe BTTS is an option as well, but I believe NAC Breda will outscore them eventually.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 NAC Breda V Cambuur + 0.25 @ 1.925 - bet365. Was literally just going to put this up as I saw the above, which worries me, and I'm sure this tentative subject will split the market (us punters). However I don't think NAC are a top Eredivisie side, and although they've been superb at home, the absences for me significantly weaken them. Taking that into account, and the fact Cambuur are only four points off them I fancy the away side to nick something here. I watched Cambuur at Vitesse a few weeks ago and they didn't look too bad. It was just a case that they went behind and then fell away. Fair enough they are one of the bottom sides in this league but you still wouldn't expect them to lose all their away games, and equally NAC shouldn't be expected to win all their home fixtures, and I think it's their recent home form that makes them feel like world beaters. This for me is a relegation scrap, and if NAC had a fully fit side I'd say they were worth a go, definitely at over evens. However unless I'm mistaken they only have six defenders on their books? Which means they're likely going to have to one, either switch formations, two play a player out of position, or three bring in a youth player (should they have any available!). I personally think this is as good a time as any to get something away at NAC.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 I already wrote this preview yesterday on another forum but I share it here too after reading the topic. At first sight I was on NAC hosting cambuur on a saturday night but I changed my mind. NAC will miss almost all their regular defenders in the likes of De roover, van der weg and Drost. Schwerts is a doubt. Their important midfielder J.suk is suspended and both their attackers Poepon and Verbeek are both doubtfull but they madr the squad. poepon probably will startbut not verbeek. They missed last week games also. With all these missings Nac is vulnerable and cambuur is a tough team to beat although they lost many games away from home. Last game for the winterbreak and they really want to bounce back after their cup game. Hemmen is back which is really important. Only miss is ritzmaier but his replacement is quite good. Their coach said the players are fresh and eager to win this game. Normally I would never go against nac they are pretty good at home on a saturday night but especially if their attackers are out too they look depleted. Value is on the away side and since this competition is pretty close odds above 3.00 are great. Cambuur +0.5 medium stakes and small stakes on the away win for me.

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 Well, I follow this league very closely and watch many games live, 1 bet stands out for me and that is Vitesse away against PEC Zwolle. odds already dropped and we have to be quick cause in a few weeks odds for Vitesse are like 1,50 in these kind of games. Again, they brought in some talented/great players to strengthen their squad in the likes of Traore loan from chelsea, Labyad fast winger from Sporting Lissabon and now today they've signed one of Zwolles best players Achenteh. This will be a blow for Zwolle ofcourse. I already fancied Vitesse to win here because of their great run also against some bundesliga clubs [HSV 0-0 score and Wolfsburg 2-3 win which is quite good]. They showed some great signs and nothing is more clear here than that Vitesse is really aiming for the title this year. They can't hide anymore from their ambition and will only get better in the second half of the season. FC zwolle is still without Lachman their best defender by far. Now they lost Achenteh left back to Vitesse which is another blow. I'm not sure if Lachman will be fit again but he did not play against Ajax cape town 1-2 win, and FC stuttgart 1-4 loss. This is their line-up against Stuttgart pretty much their best team atm. PEC Zwolle: Boer, Van Polen (77. Pereira), Broerse, Van der Werff, Van Hintum (65. Labylle), Mokotjo (79. Patricio), Klich, Nijland (75. Karagounis), Thomas (46.Achenteh), Fernandez (46.Benson) en Hiwat (46.Gravenbeek). Maybe one or 2 changes but not much. Before the break they were on a bad streak. 3 losses and 2 draws in their last 5 games while they've only scored 3 goals and conceded 10. I backed Feyenoord with high stakes against Zwolle that was he first game Lachman missed and you could see that it was very important. He is a strong, big guy with great passing. Anyways, If he's still out I'm going big on Vitesse and I expect him to miss out again. Vitesse are on a great run in the league. Won 4 of their last 5 games including a Historical 2-6 away win at PSV. They've scored 15 goals while only conceded 6. They suffered a cup loss against Roda jc though and that was a wake-up call for them. P.Bosz their coach was really mad about that result and that shows he is really ambitious to get Vitesse back on track. I have no doubts they will come out gun blazing this weekend against Zwolle. Both play attacking football which suits Vitesse more because they can also play perfectly on the counter with fast wingers especially with Labyad now too. They have the same amount of points as Ajax 37 and that's huge for the club. Their stands are getting more and more filled every weekand this will give their team a boost ofcourse. Everyone smells the title is close this year if they can keep up this form. Havenaar is still suspended for Vitesse, that's a shame cause he did a good job lately. Not a real striker joined vitesse these days so they will play another style in this game but it does not matter that much for this game. Normally I would be cautious backing Vitesse without Havenaar cause he is a great target men and important for Vitesse's gameplay but since Zwolle plays attacking football especially at home Vitesse will play through their wings and in Piazon they have a great finisher aswell. All in all, I expect an away win and nothing else. Zwolle is even weaker than before and without these 2 important defenders they will suffer atleast 2 goals. They lack a real goalscorer and Vitesse's defense is good enough to keep things tight. Odds are around 1.80 while posting this but I expect them to drop cause of this transfer also. We gotta act quickly to get max value on Vitesse while we still can. High stakes on the away win for me. Medium stakes Vitesse to score 2 or more goals. low stakes Vitesse to cover the -1.5 handicap and small stakes on L.Piazon anytime goalscorer! This guy also takes their penalties. Good luck all!

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 New year new chances, Ill be punting a mixture of long shots and favorites with decent value. First one on Friday. FC Twente vs Heracles Almelo This match is a derby, called the Derby of Twente. With twente representing the city of Enschede and Heracles the city of Almelo, only a few miles separated from each other. It´s one of the biggest regional derbies in the Netherlands and naturally this means that it is a must win for both teams. However the odds make up is really strange in this one. If we look at records so far this season Heracles is the fifth best away team in the Dutch league, that means they are a force to be reckoned with. Twente is the 7th best home team in the league. So just judging from simple form we would say that if Heracles visit your stadium it is not so easy to win at all. Notably they have beat Feyenoord in the Kuip stadium, Heerenveen in the Heerenveen Stadium and also Roda on the road. These 3 considered to be some of the hardest away fixtures for any team, especially Feyenoord and Heerenveen. Twente drew some really worse sides than Heracles like 0-0 in their stadium vs RKC and NEC. Now the odds of this match reflect something completly different. It portrays Heracles as a limped underdog with absolutely zero chance to ever get a result in Enschede. Momentarily the odds for a Twente win are 1,29 at various bookies and Heracles win ranges from 10,5 to 11,43. Wtf? This is not like we are talking about a really shitty team in the league here these odds are really weird. In fact in the last two seasons Heracles beat Twente in Enschede 2-3 and barely lost once 3-2. Obviously Twente are the big favorits here but 1,29 really? And 11,43 @ Pinnacle for such a decent away team? As for the injuries Heracles has 2 notable ones Koenders, defender and Amoaha, reserve striker, but they haven't been of any decisive impact, Veldman and Schenkeveld are fine enough replacements in the defence. On Twente's end there are no important injuries. Because it's a derby its a match that stands on its own, there are many things that can happen. I expect Heracles to put up a real fight and with some luck they might come out with a win or draw like they did against previously mentioned teams, with some luck a draw is a real possibility. If however they concede an early goal against they might collapse under the pressure of the derby and be outplayed by Twente. All I know is that Heracles can put up a fight and have proved they are more than capable of that. Twente has not been the killer team it once was so I simply do not agree with the odds. It will be my first long shot of the year 2014 in football. Haven't made my mind up in what form yet will do that tomorrow morning but it will probably be either one of these two. Heracles +0,5 @ 4,50 Bet365 or Double chance Heracles X2 @ 3,75 Bet365

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 bet365 offers 1.72 for Heracles to score, which IMO provides very decent value, given all the facts stated above, and Twentes tendency to concede at home pitch. The guests are a goal threat in every away game, especialy against "top tier" teams.

Obviously, Heracles +0.5 is much better odds :) I noticed it's a derby, but Twente have won four of the last five at home to Heracles (the other result being a Heracles win)

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 Yes, I also fancy them to score tonight. They are doing well especially in away games. They won at the Kuip [Feyenoord] which is the hardest place to visit for away teams. Win against Roda jc, AZ and a draw against Vitesse. Great results. Game of the year for Heracles against their biggest rivals, many away fans will attend. Upset is possible yes, last few years this affair is pretty tight except for the start of this season 0-3 Twente. Heracles +1.5 is a great bet if u ask me. A draw or a marginal loss is likely for me!

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 TBH I think we are missing something here. The odds are 1.35 initially on twente and they have shortened to 1.25 now. Dont forget, last time we got caught as well if I remember correctly. The match was between PSV and cant remember which team but people on the dutch forums were betting against us and they were right. Just wanted to point this out as I was looking to go big on this as well but then saw the historic odds

Re: Netherlands > Eredivisie > 2013/14 FT 3-1 Twente. Late penalty crushed my bet but I have no regrets backing Heracles +1.5 with small stakes. Game was pretty equal although Twente scored 2 goals. Same amount of attacking threat, chances till the red card in the 57th minute. Ofcourse Twente had the better chances after that moment but Heracles even scored with 10 men on the pitch and a late penalty still ruined my main bet. Goal bet came in as we expected. Unlucky for us 2-1 would have been a fair result. Anyways, Vitesse to win tomorrow is the bet of this round for me! More previews will come later on the night. Cheers all
