Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July From the reports I've read it was all Shkendijas in the first leg, they've had the complete control of the match and unlucky not to win it at the end. You'll say they had the advantage of playing at home but actually it was neutral ground and it was the hot weather the helped Portadown players more judjing by the interviews. Tonights match will be only forth appearance in Europe for Shkendija and they are still winnless there (played Partizan last year in CL qualies). Portadown are more experienced when it comes to European competitions but their record is pretty bad. They have lost 22 of their 32 matches in the Euro Cups, winning 3 and drawing the other 7. Portadown are semi-profesionals and Shkendija coach is convinced they are the better team and they will make it to the next round. Also adds that atmosphere in the camp is great, players are very motivated to show what they know best and expects to justify the role of favs. Yes, they are favourites on the qualify market with some firms but I am surprised to see them as the underdogs on the outright market with most of the bookies and I feel there may be some value in that. Tempted to have a try on Shkendija but would like to know more on the situation in Portadown if some can provide.

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July Guys, anyone from Sweden with more in-depth info on Kalmar?! I was quite surprised they lost the first leg vs. Cliftonville. At first sight, it seems that they should destroy them in Sweden. However, I don't know much about their quality at the moment. Also some insight on Cliftonville will be appreciated.

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July Portadown defending pair O'Hara and Burns are set to return in the line-up after missing the first leg because of injury. Jamie Tomelty who was replaced around the half-hour mark due to a groin injury in the first match remains a doubt for tonight. Richard Clarke, popular midfielder of the Ports is diagnosed with testicular cancer and will miss the match. However, I believe Shkendija is the better team overall and the pressure now is on Portadown. 2 units on Shkendija @ 2,85 with bwin for me :hope

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July The first one that sticks out like a sore thumb is Liepajas Metalurgs (Latvia) v La Fiorita (San Marino), and the various Metalurgs clean sheet bets surrounding this game. You can currently get Metalurgs to keep a clean sheet 1.76 and both teams to score - no at 1.74 on betfair. As a mark of comparison boyles have both teams to score - no at 1.57, which is still too high in my eyes. Metalurgs won the first leg 2-0 and hardly looked like world beaters, their second goal only came in the 90th minute and was a goalkeeping disaster (check out the highlights on youtube) but we are talking about a side from San Marino here who have a terrible record away in Europe in general, I'm sure someone will provide details of their side's away goalscoring records in europe. Metalurgs are a decent home side well into their league season and had their match cancelled at the weekend so should be rested, 2-0 is a decent lead for us as well, not like they won 6-0 and will now rest everyone. I can't see why the odds are so high. Metalurg Clean Sheet - 1.77 - betfair - 5 points Both Teams to Score-No - 1.76 - betfair - 5 points

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July I think Cliftonville will go with 5 defenders and try to hold Kalmar to 0-0 up until half time!! Cliftonville play on an artificial pitch which may not suit Kalmar for the home game! Northern Irish teams dont normally do well in euro away games. Cliftonville have a decent forward who in Boyce who came on as a sub in the second half and got their goal, he was in Werder Bremen 2nd team last season, the rest of the players shouldnt be up to good standards. Kalmar are on a bit of a bad run in league, but think will take this 1-0 or 2-0

They almost beat us in NI(very difficult 2:1 win for us), but they were pretty sh*te in Sofia and got easily defeated in a training tempo. I don't expect them to have improved much, and Northern Irish teams away record is abysmal. Still Kalmar is a bit weaker than CSKA Sofia. I don't know if it's worth it at current price. Especially remembering how Irish Shamrock kicked Partizan out of Europe last year. I know ROI football is a bit better than Northern Irish, but still that game is like a warning sign (they did not do bad in the Europe League groups either).

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July Nõmme JK Kalju 2v2 FK Khazar Lenkoran Bit of an optimistic one Im going for on the home team at 3.20 Bet365 - Kaliju got a nice 2-2 away win in previous leg were Khazar were favorites. Kaliju are top of their league and seem too win a lot of their home games. Both teams have a few International players from home nation & i would say Estonia who made Euros(Poland/Ukraine) playoff are better than Azerbaijan as a nation team. Khazar need to go for it to get the away goal & i hope this will open them up for Kalju to counter.. But i have a gut feeling for another draw!! Home win for £20 with Linfield in Champions Qual for a Double!!

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July Floriana-Elfsborg Second leg home dogs in first rounds of 2009-11 were 14-6 beating a handicap of +2.5 goals, and all second leg home dogs in that time are 3-17 under 3.5 total goals. Generally speaking, the underdogs are a good play in these situations because they're at home and the tie is already secured, meaning many second-team players by the favored side and nobody wanting to get hurt in advance on the next round. The home teams, meanwhile, play their asses off in front of their home fans. Note what happened last year: Elfsborg 4-0 at home to Fola Esch in first round...a week later, Fola Esch 1, Elfsborg 1. The year before in the first round, Elfsborg won the first game at home 2-1 against a Moldovan team, Iskra-Stal, and then won away 1-0. In 2009, Elfsborg won at home 3-0 against Haladas, then drew 1-1 away in the second leg. In line with my reasoning, I put one unit on under 3.5 goals @ 1.97, and one unit on draw @ 8.75.

The standard of football in Northern Ireland is not great, if you look at past results by Swedish sides and Northern Irish sides in Europe, it looks like a straightforward home win. Cliftonville got a great result at home but away is a different matter, these sides tend to be much better at home. Kalmar will be motivated to win by more than one goal to avoid extra time and I fancy them to do it. I don't think the results of sides from Republic of Ireland are that relevant as they are significantly better than the sides north of the border.

This does indeed look a good bet. Sanmarinese sides have scored in only four of their last sixteen away games in Europe. And Metalurg have conceded the least goals of all teams in the Latvian Virsliga so far. Strange to see these odds on Betfair, as it's normally the bookies who get these games wrong. I can't really think of any inside knowledge anyone could have that would affect this market though (hope I'm right). I have taken this, also with 5 points, as well as putting 10 points on Metalurg -1EH @ 1.22 (Boylesports, Bwin).

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July Anybody clobber the Floriana/Elfsborg game today? Given that the first leg finished 8-0 there was always likely to be a hammering dished out in the second leg, surely someone must have hammered the handicap market and over 2.5 goals market on this one. Even a scorecast was easy predicatable tonight. Myself, I had a small accumalator which included Portadown who won 2-1 and Linfield in the Champions League drew 0-0, the other 2 were due to play tomorrow,KUPS and Zimbru Chisinau, all to no avail. The rogue draw rears its ugly head again!!!!

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July I watched Torpedo Kutaisi in 2 friendly games in Austria and they are very underish team with good defence and good lesson of counter attack. I don;t believe they will open the game soon despite only 1-1 on home ground. Under 2.5 @1.8 can be good choice for small bet if game is played fair!

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July UE Santa Coloma vs FC Twente Under 5.5 @ 1.9 (Bet365) 4/10 I think the line is so high here because of Twente's name and reputation, but conversely I find that it is often the smaller clubs with more of a point to prove who have the biggest desire to thrash teams in these situations. UE Santa Coloma will try and defend and keep the score down. I didn't watch the first game but from what I've read Twente played it like a practice game for much of the first half before clicking into gear. Although there is an immense quality difference between the two sides, Twente will find things harder in Andorra with the altitude and poor (normally plastic) surfaces, and without home fans to cheer them on I don't think they'll have too much incentive to treat the game as anything other than a friendly. I very much doubt the home side will score which helps this bet; Andorran sides very rarely score and they won't have much of the ball at all here. This bet would have only lost once in all of the home European ties of Andorran sides in the last five years, although there have been a few 0-5 scorelines. It's difficult to set this line right and I think Bet365 have overestimated the chances of 0-6, 0-7 and beyond. It may be worth covering the 0-6 scoreline though. As they 'only' scored 6 at home with their fans to please, I doubt they will go beyond that in Andorra.

'La Fiorita total goals 0' is now on Coral for 1.8! Whilst the Betfair one is trading around 1.55-1.59 at the moment. I've traded myself a guaranteed profit at Betfair and put my original stake on at Coral.

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July FK Senica - MTK Budapest Pick: FK Senica (7/10) 1,67 bet365 First match in Budapest finished 1-1. Senica will be stronger in the 2nd leg at home stadium, new players of Senica couldn't play in first match due to summer transfer period didn't officially started. Now is the situation different, specially best goalscorer of previous season Masaryk from Ruzomberok and Diarrasouba from Olympic Nimes are available now. Since MTK is famous club in Hungary, they are newcomer of highest league and playing Europa League because they are finalist of Hungarian cup. Senica is strong in the attack and I expect at least 1 goal difference win for them. I do not own this post.

Guests traveled more than 27 hours to get to Armenia. Daugava Daugavpils v Suduva Daugava Daugavpils: without very important midfielder Mamaev and striker Ghonghadze. Mura 05 v Baki Mura 05: huge financial problems in Mura. Before first match players had to contribute 60 euros each for visas. One of them said: "Nobody has told us anything. Shame, we collect the money. This is an organization of our club." Match will be played in Lendava, not in Murska Sobota. Hosts without Luk (left the club), Travner and Majer. Baki: guests arrived to Slovenia on Tuesday. IBV v St Patrick's IBV: without Olsen and Mawejje. St Patrick's: after resting five of his first team players for Sunday's draw in the Premier Division, St. Patrick's manager Buckley looks set to field his strongest side against IBV.

'La Fiorita total goals 0' is now on Coral for 1.8! Whilst the Betfair one is trading around 1.55-1.59 at the moment. I've traded myself a guaranteed profit at Betfair and put my original stake on at Coral.
Nice one, PG. Decided to put my faith in SK to keep a clean sheet and took the 1.80, and will make no loss if they do concede, after backing on Betfair. Was about to begin piling on as much as possible but just as I was about to deposit Coral have stopped taking bets on everything but the match outcome :lol

Yeah, they did pull it pretty quick! I stuck some more on at that price, don't see the logic in it personally. Bookies don't have a clue how to price up the games with the minnows involved. I was on the bet365 site when they marked up the under 5.0,5.5 (an inferior bet to the one pg described above) on the Twente game it was at 1.80 for two mins then they dropped it twice to 1.675 within 30 seconds then took it off totally! Now back up at 1.7. Been betting on FC Santa Coloma not to score against NK Osijek on panbet and they keep giving me restrictions on the usual clean sheet markets we all use, but if I log out and log in again the restrictions reset themselves! :lol..hopefully they will honour the bets and I won't get banned..

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July

FK Senica - MTK Budapest Pick: FK Senica (7/10) 1,67 bet365 First match in Budapest finished 1-1.
That's not true, Senica can't play with new players such as Krajčík, Masaryk.. They'll be playing in the same roster.

That's funny. Osijek are the other stand out, or rather the mugs they're up against. Had a go at a Gomel shut-out too. Vikingur Pub XI missed a pen in the 0-6 first leg, but otherwise, according to UEFA, didn't register another effort on or off target. Edit: The penalty was horrendous too :rollin

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July Metalurgi Rustavi -2.5 @ 2.85 bet365 MR won the first leg 3-0 away where they completely dominated the game, and the scoreline could have been greater given that they had 23 shots on goal compared to Teuta's 6. Now at home, expect them to finish them off Olimpija Ljubljana -1.5 @ 2.54 pinnacle Away side lad 3-0 from the first leg where they dominated the game, and looked a class above the team from Luxembourg. With reports that they have taken the same side to the second leg, and then like them to win this one well, as they showed in the first leg, where they scored 3 goals from 5 shots on target, that they can find the net. With 28 fouls and 3 yellow cards from the home side in the first leg, obviously they could not contain them, and hard to see them doing it here Rosenborg -3 (EH) @ 2.20 sportsbet Rosenborg lead 3-0 after the first leg, and once again should be anongst the goals in this game, as they are the better of the two sides. They are in the middle of their Norwegian season, so fitness is not a problem for them, and being on their home ground, where they have scored at least 3 goals in 4 of their last 8 home games, as well as not conceding in 4 of these 8 home games, but doubt that Crusaders will pose too many problems here, especially as they allowed 3 goals from 9 shots on target while they themselves could only have the one shot on target in the first leg

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July

UE Santa Coloma vs FC Twente Under 5.5 @ 1.9 (Bet365) 4/10 I think the line is so high here because of Twente's name and reputation, but conversely I find that it is often the smaller clubs with more of a point to prove who have the biggest desire to thrash teams in these situations.
Its a good call and you got an excellent price, I watched the entire first leg and placed a daft in-play bet on FC Twente -2AH first half handicap, I got my stake back after they scored two goals in a minute but it was a close run thing, at one point I was convinced it was going to lose. Santa Coloma were crap as you expect, Twente played at half pace and kicked on when the Andorran's tired in the second half. Below is Twente's squad for the game, the only missing from the first leg is the guy who scored two goals in the first half and looked pretty decent all round actually. Selectie FC Twente: Boschker, Fernandes, Bednarek, Breukers, Wisgerhof, Gortemaker, Röseler, Kuiper, Brama, Janssen, Promes, Hölscher, Plet, Born, John, Verhoek. I'm personally convinced the Andorrans won't score so I've taken under 5 goals at 1.8 with bet365, but I'll certainly be covering 5-0, 6-0 and 7-0, so I suppose this is a way of me playing Twente to keep a clean sheet as no bookie is brave enough to cover that market.

Alex, I also watched the game and just wanted to add that the Andorrans were playing pretty rude in defense and nearly injured some Twente player. If they do it again at home soil, I am confident Twente won't be risking some bad injuries just for the purpose of scoring 5 or 6 past them.

Re: First qualifying round, 2nd leg > 10-12 July Btw, anyone got the idea why betfair values Metalurgs clean-sheet vs. Fiorita at such price, since similar bets (Gomel and Osijek clean sheets) are priced much much lower - at 1.05. Is there something that we don't know about Metalurgs and Fiorita and somebody in the market is familiar with?!
