Argentina > Primera Division > 2012

Recommended Posts

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 I agree, will publish a preview in a few minutes. I also agree to keep stakes low, because Boca has a looong squad, almost 2 teams of players that could be regular anywhere and Racing is not reliable, but this is a big derby and they just can't lose it at home.

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 Well, let's see if this week we have better luck with the free preview. You can download it here: http://goo.gl/ECafD or at my website as usual. The game is Argentinos Jrs - Banfield, and the bet i like is the home win. Odds on -0.75 above 2.05 look pretty good so i would take that with mid stakes. GL ! ;)

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 San Martin S.J - Newells Old Boys 16th June 2012 00:10 CET San Martin Suspended: Lucas Landa (five yellow cards accumulated) Doubtful: Injured/unavailable: Raul Quiroga (right knee ligaments); Luciano Pocrjnic (right hand) Newell's Old Boys Suspended: Doubtful: Mauricio Sperdutti (left ankle) Injured/unavailable: Alexis Machuca (right knee ligaments) San Martin's performance has not been good these last matches. They are struggling in the lower part of the table currently 15th. On the other hand Newell are still for the title race only two point behind the leader of the table, Boca Juniors. Also they have a very good away record when compared to the home record of San Martin. It's also worth considering that over their last six matches, both sides have identical records (three wins, one draw and two defeats). San Martin are really going to be feeling the pressure, though, given their place in the relegation struggle, and I think Newell's will be a little more relaxed and that should help them. I think that it is quite difficult for San Martin to beat Newell's at this stage so this is my pick: Newell's Old Boys DNB @ 1.85 bwin 5/10

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 Velez v Tigre Sunday 17th June 00.20 Velez in 5th place v Tigre in 2nd place. With one game to play after this one, both teams have a chance of winning the league. Velez are 3 points behind top-placed Boca. Tigre are 1 point behind with a slightly worse goal difference. So Tigre have a more realistic chance of winning the title. As MNC has pointed out, Tigre are also in the interesting position of trying to avoid relegation (calculated on averages over several seasons). Tigre are in better form than Velez over the last 5 matches. Velez's home record is about the same as Tigre's away record in the Clausura. Velez have a better head to head record, having won 5 out of the last 7 league games between them. http://uk.soccerway.com/national/argentina/primera-division/2011-2012/clausura/ Best current odds Velez 2.0 Draw 3.33 Tigre 4.2 Tigre are in better form and could be better motivated for this game as they have a better chance of winning the title. They also need points to avoid relegation. They look good value to me at odds of 4.2. A good value bet with a margin of safety is Tigre +0.5 which covers a Tigre win or draw - Tigre +0.5 1.91 BetVictor and 188Bet Strength (confidence I have in the value of the bet): 6/10 (Note: odds could improve between now and kick off)

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 Do you understand that Tigre's main goal is to avoid relegation, not to win the championship even if they are only 1 point behind Boca ? Also, goals difference doesn't make a difference, it doesn't count to win the championship. The bet is not a bad one although it's a difficult game and I would skip it, I just wanted to clarify this stuff.

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 Boca v Arsenal Sunday 17th June 23.15 Top placed Boca play 3rd placed Arsenal. There is one more game after this one. Arsenal are 1 point behind. Arsenal are in better recent form. Boca are in the Copa Libertadores and this could be a distraction for them. Boca's home form is better than Arsenal's away form. Boca have a better head to head record for games between the two teams. http://uk.soccerway.com/national/argentina/primera-division/2011-2012/clausura/ Best current odds: Boca 1.8 Draw 3.6 Arsenal 5.1 With better form and a greater need for the points, I think Arsenal are good value here at 5.1. The 'Arsenal or Draw' bet gives a margin of safety - Double Chance Arsenal or Draw 2.1 Paddy Power Strength (confidence I have in the value of the bet): 3/10 (Note: odds could improve between now and kick off)

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 Sorry, but again: goals difference doesn't matter ! How is Arsenal "in greater need for the points" ? If Boca wins they could be champions this weekend depending on other results !!! Good luck with your bet though (I'm not saying it's wrong, just too unpredictable), definitely a game to skip for me.

No - I didn't know either of those things MNC. Crazy different rules in Argentina. (Is there a English language website which shows the up to date relegation picture? I know it's calculated over several seasons ...)

Check the website in my signature, I wrote about it last week and also a couple of years ago I explained the relegation system. Be careful when you recommend bets or where you put your money !!! ;)

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 OK - so goal difference doesn't count if teams are level at the top - apparently the two teams have a playoff if they finish level. This means at this stage points are the only thing that matter, not goal difference. Tigre are in the interesting position of fighting to avoid relegation at the same time as going for the title! According to this table, Tigre are just ahead of San Martin in the relegation averages table - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011–12_Argentine_Primera_División_season#Relegation It seems that Tigre have extra motivation to win against Velez, so I won't change my recommendation here. I'll also keep my recommendation for Arsenal v Boca.

The way I see it, Arsenal are 1 point behind, so they need the points more from this game. A draw would suit Boca more than Arsenal, as Boca would still be ahead of Arsenal with one game to go. But with other teams in contention, both teams will probably go for the win. This makes me think there might be a lot of goals in this game - but Argentinian football tends to be defensive with low-scoring games. Thanks for your helpful comments MNC - your website is excellent. What are your thoughts about the title race at the moment?

What I think is that it's too dangerous to make a bet on this match this early. Boca played 12 hours ago, so their starting lineup won't be confirmed until tomorrow and also Boca's strategy will depend on other results because if other teams fail to win a draw would be perfect for them, but if others win (Tigre, Newell's) then they might need to win or they could lose the championship.

Result: San Martin 2 Newells 1 I saw a lot of this game. San Martin got an early goal, and didn't look back after that. Newells were always struggling even after getting a goal back in the first half. San Martin were the better side and Newells disappointing. It seemed that San Martin were more motivated to avoid relegation than Newells were to catch Boca at the top.

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 Atletico Rafaela-Racing : 1 @ 2,30 Hello my friends, I am quite interested and trying to study the situation in this game. Atletico needs the win if I am not wrong in order to be safe, but does Racing still save at all? I think yes because in their site I cannot see any document talking about decisive or must win game for them; while in the Atletico Rafaela side there is some statement and comments of fan saying that this is a crucial game for them. Can i trust this team at home? Will Racing give some extra fighting for some reason? Racing is also making a debut with a young talent, so I suppose they might be not very strong focused on any point at all. Thanx and GL !

Sorry but it is very hard to find info and motivation of teams involved for this championship, so I need some help from you ! Have nice bets!!

According to the 3-season relegation averages table on wikipedia, Rafaela are in 19th place, and Racing in 14th place, meaning Rafaela are in desparate need of points. I don't understand the points system, but it looks as though Rafaela should have more motivation in this game ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011–12_Argentine_Primera_División_season#Relegation

Match without importance for both sides: home team have played a bad season (mid table) and visitors were relegated to the second league long ago. So this is an event that will be most remembered for captain's last game in La Plata, a big "La Brujita" day there. I expect that Estudiantes going strong to win in front of their fans tonight. On the other hand and Olimpo have games with plenty of goals lately, since when they play without any pressure. So I guess that is over a much greater value than home win in this kind of encounter. Also, Zuccarelli (home coach) will perform formation 4-3-3, with Zapata, Gaston Fernandez and again fit, topscorer Boselli. Away team have lost several first team players, who didn't want to move to the second league. In addition, Musto and Diaz won't play tonight due to suspensions. As what I said, over is more likely to me, but only with low stake this time. Maybe MNC can add something else... Good luck with your choice fellas :beer over 2,5 @2.20 Stan James low stake

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 Ok thanks all of you, I will surf the web and also facebbook, in order to find some inspirations and maybe decide to go with quite important stake with the 1 at 2,30, huge value in my opionion give the circumstances!! What interest me is also to know if there are difference in the odds between the one i am using now (better.it) and the argentinian ones. Are there similar odd for the home win or maybe in the local argentinian side is the sign 1 already goes down, and it maybe takes a little more to be reflected to the european books. thanks

Good luck with your choice fellas :beer over 2,5 @2.20 Stan James low stake
only 1:0 :\

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 Atletico Rafaela-Racing Club Odds seems going a little down around the varoius book; on Bet365 for example i can find the sign 1 at 2,25 and i suppose it has started from 2,40. So people is going with the most motivated team, but this obviously does not mean it will be 1 or a not fighting racing side.Ahhh I am a lto attracted from this 1 !!!continuing searching info....

Re: Argentina > Primera Division > 2012 The info i find on the unofficial site of Racing, that half of the actual team will be dismantelde for next season. Also coach is stating that points are important to gain in order not to suffer on the next season, but some fans thinks that mind of palyers might be only focused on the final they will play on Copa Argentina against boca(do not know when , given the libertaodes involvement of Boca) . Other fans hopes to send Atletico in Serie B, but others simply state "do you believe that we are going to win a match at desperate Rafaela when a lot of players already know they will leave next season and their only main focus now is only the copa final?" so very hard to predict this match, but motivation must be a boost for the home team, so there is more possibility of the 1 sign and not the x nor 2 sign. Yes i do not have discover the hot water, we say in italy!! The bad news for the home team is the absence of their forward Gandin, 31 / 13 goal
