Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July

Done. Just in case anyone's not aware, you can always click on an individual match to see the current odds displayed. :ok
Thanks, but I think this thread won't be very active. From the next round when better teams join the competition it will be more interesting.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Slask Wroclaw v Dundee United I really like the odds on the home win in this fixture which are still available at Evens with William Hill. I would expect this price to shorten by Thursday. Dundee United have lost some key players this summer. These include Craig Conway, Morgaro Gomis and Prince Buaben who made up their midfield. It looks like David Goodwille (key striker) is on his way so I am not sure if he will play. These key midfield players have not been replaced. I would consider also how bad Scottish teams (outside the Old Firm) have been in Europe for many years now. Only Hearts in 03/04 - 04/05 and Aberdeen 07/08 have made any progress in European Competitions in the last decade. So many times Scottish teams have been bombed at of Europe at the first hurdle and I can see the same happening here again. To be honest I dont know much about Slask Wroclaw but they finished 2nd in the Polish league last season ahead of Lech Poznan who did well in this competition last time. Home Win

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Glentoran v Vorskla There is no doubt that Vorskla will qualify to the next round but @1.66 away is way to short.Vorskla is not a good side away from home. Last season they lost away to Benfica 3-0 i think and then won at home 2-1.Glentoran is level bellow Vorskla and i wasn't impress with them in 1st round.I don't want to be involved in 3 way handicap but i think game will end up in low scoring draw.Vorskla very good at the back and i don't think Glentoran have enough fire power up front to explore that.Quality is on ukrainian side. Under 2.5 goals @1.80 bet365

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Rabotnicki -2 (EH) @ 2.5 (Paddy Power) Rabotnicki, who finished fourth in the Macedonian league, face Juvenes/Dogana, who won the Coppa Tittano in San Marino. The main reason for this bet is that sides from San Marino are amateur and struggle in Europe, especially with fitness. If you take games in the last 6 years, when a team from San Marino are at home in the first leg in European games, the opposition has beaten this handicap 4 out of 7 times. Recently, even Valletta from Malta beat Tre Fioi (champions of San Marino) 0-3 in San Marino. Last year Rudar Pljevlja won there 0-3. I rate Rabotnicki as being stronger than both those two teams. Rabotnicki, unlike their opponents, have a lot of European experience. They normally get through quite a few rounds and last year even got as far as playing Liverpool, losing each leg 0-2. They have been in Europe every year for the last six years. In 2007-08, they were beaten very narrowly by Bolton. Last year they beat Lusitanos, a side from Andorra, 5-0 and 6-0 in the Europa league. I rate the San Marino league to be worse than the Andorran one, looking at results in Europe. Rabotnicki were fourth highest scorers in the Macedonian league last season. The Macedonian league is on its break at the moment, but Rabotnicki have already played two games in the first qualifying round of the Europa League, beating Estonian side Narva Trans 7-1 on aggregate. Juvenes/Dogana were only average in their own league, finishing fourth, which is effectively 8th as there are two equivalent leagues with a playoff to decide the winner. Large stakes for me, in my experience the bookies often price the handicaps wrong in games involving the minnows of European football.

Just to back this one up a bit, from the local Courier..
Manager Peter Housten has finalised his plans for Thursday and it now looks like the Tangerines are set to take the field without their giant centre-half. Kenneth picked up a hamstring injury in the pre-season game in Ireland against Bohemians and has also felt pain in his knee. He has been having further treatment on the joint but the signs are not good. Houston said, "Garry is getting a scan to check the nerve behind his knee. To be honest, we have done our planning and done a lot of our work. We have worked on our formation and how we are going to play, so I would say he is very doubtful for the game." The likely absence of Kenneth will be compounded by not having fellow casualties Danny Swanson and Scott Robertson available. Despite being depleted, Houston insisted the Tangerines will still try to take the game to the Poles. "We are down to the bare bones numbers-wise," he said. "I have a set of experienced players who will all be involved but there will be a few kids on the bench who the fans won't even know." He added, "We do have a good side that we can put out on the park, though, and we are going there to look for a good result. The aim is to get something to bring back to Tannadice. "We won't be going there to camp on the edge of our box because you just invite trouble doing that. Of course when we lose the ball we will need to defend properly but we will go there looking to score goals." United will take just under 500 supporters — their full allocation — to Poland and Houston is banking on them giving his players a lift during the game. He said, "Our fans will be heard. Whether it was at Oban last week or over in Ireland earlier on in pre-season, they always created a good atmosphere and got behind the lads. "It is great they have sold out all the tickets and we are expecting great support from them on Thursday." The forecast for the match is for sunny spells and temperatures rising close to 30C. With the kick-off being 4.45pm local time (an hour earlier back home), the Tangerines could be sweltering during the game. Houston said, "If it is going to be hot then we will just have to make sure we are full of fluids and take care of that side of it."
Not sure if Goodwillie is playing or not? Rangers had a seven figure bid rejected, but if they are holding out for a higher fee they won't want him ineligable for Euro competition regardless. The weather could be an interesting factor also, but given it's pre-season for both teams I don't think it will be much of an issue, I have found it rarely is unless one side is semi-pro which few sides are in this comp..when a manager mentions 'bare-bones' though the ears do prick up..;) They are still available at a backable price for me.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Metalurg Skopje - Lokomotiv Sofia = 1X (1.93) Eurobet Preview: Lokomotiv Sofia: absent: Dafchev (midfielder 0 / 0); injured: Mesic (striker 0 / 0). The club Metalurg is the richest in the country and have made a very strong team and motivated. This summer they played three friendly matches, winning all three scoring 7 goals. The home team finished the season in second place in the house has a score of w10-d4-l3 goals scored 30 goals against 9. Lokomotiv have sold their best players - Asamoah and Genkov last winter, bought new less skilled and experienced players. They finished the season in 5 th place with 52 points with a score out of the house w6-d2-l7 goals scored 16 goals against 17. In the end I think the home team could get a positive result. :hope:hope:hope

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Glentoran - Vorskla = 2 (1.65) Totosì Preview: Glentoran: Suspended: Colin Nixon (defender 0 / 0), Johnny Taylor (defender 0 / 0), Elliot Morris (goalkeeper 0 / 0); absent: Sean Ward (defender 0 / 0), Richard Clarke (midfielder 0 / 0); injured Jimmy Callacher (midfielder 0 / 0), Ciaran Martyn (midfielder 0 / 0). Gletoran Northern Ireland team arrive to this match after you have eliminated the additional Renova had lost the first leg 2-1 at the back has won with the same result at 90 '. The team Vorskla Poltava Ukraine, which was ranked 6 th place in Ukrainian championship results and has important last season, just think of the 3-1 victory against Dynamo Kiev a 1-1 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk. The visiting team is stronger than the home team Glentoran includes many more absences in the end I think the Vorskla can win the game. :hope:hope:hope

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Good to have the football season back. I'm getting heavily involved in the match with a Scottish team in action tonight. Slask Wroclaw v Dundee United - Slask Wroclaw @ 1.893 with Pinnacle 9pts This going to be a big ask for Dundee United, to go to Poland and come away with anything. Slask are no mugs. They finished second in the Ekstraklasa last year and ran Wisla Krakow fairly close. They are one of the emerging clubs in Poland after a few years off the radar. In Sebastian Mila and Przemyslaw Kazmiercak, they have two extremely competent midfielders who should be able to boss the game. United are severely weakened in that department. Scott Robertson is injured, while Prince Buaben, Morgaro Gomis and David Robertson - all vital components of the team that finished last season 4th and won the Scottish Cup in 2009 - have all departed. Willo Flood and John Rankin have been signed to replace them. Flood's a creative player but is fragile - I can see him getting muscled out of possession by Wroclaw's three-man midfield. Rankin, who struggled to hold down a regular berth at Hibs, is a grafter, but not in the same league as some of his predecessors. I can't see them being able to get control of the ball for long periods from Wroclaw. United are also missing Gary Kenneth, the mainstay of their defence. Their backline will have a more makeshift look about it. Of course, David Goodwillie, their main striker, is always a threat, but I don't think he'll see much of the ball. Wroclaw normally play 4-5-1 and will suffocate any balls to him. United also don't have the wingers that caused teams so many problems last year. Danny Swanson is injured, and Craig Conway has left the club. Wroclaw have got goals - Johann Voskamp and Christian Diaz are both able forwards - and they will have home advantage - not just being at their own stadium, but conditions will be hot and sweaty, conditions that have seen many Scottish teams falter away from home in Europe. Slask are a decent side, and United are much weaker than the outfit we saw run AEK close last season in this very competition. I expect Slask will want a win to take to Dundee in the return leg, and their attacking mindset should be able to see them through in this match. :hope

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July i agree with the above said on Slusk - Dundee and Glentoran - Vorskla (just hoped odds for Vorskla would be higher considering criminal charges against Vorskla) i also added Llanelli - Dinamo Tbilisi (-1) @ 1.962 (pinnacle) despite troubles and hard times, georgians might be on the track to new success, at least at the local level. they were 2nd last 3 years in a row, signed a coach from barcelona and added several strong players Llanelli starts from the 2nd round, but i think they are weaker than previous opponent of Dinamo and of course Dinamo itself. i think we might see yesterday's string of events (i mean City vs HJK, when finns won because of their higher class). so i don't doubt Tbilisi will win and i hope the difference will be more than 1 goal (i remind that pinnacle has an option of a push and -1 really means -1, not -1,5)

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Shakhter Kargandy -v- St. Patricks Athletic I think this will be an extremely difficult trip for St. Patricks Athletic. They did brilliantly at home against IBV to win 2-0 and 2-1 on aggregate in the first qualifying round, but this game will be a road too far. They've had a grueling run of games in the last while. In the last two weeks they've played the two first round qualifiers, as well as two Sunday league games. The first of which was against Shamrock Rovers which they lost 1-0, and on Sunday just gone, they drew 2-2 at home to Dundalk, in a very open game. Today however, I believe the combination of the heat and the travelling will provide too much of a test for St. Pat's as they are undoubtedly suffering from a bit of fatigue at this stage. Kargandy on the other hand have had a weekend off from their own league fixture obligations, and beat Koper of Slovenia 2-1 at home in the first qualifying round. Finally, St. Pats are missing their top goalscorer Danny North to injury. He has not travelled for this game, and without his goals, they do struggle to score against teams who are good defensively. (He didn't play against Dundalk in that 2-2 draw either, but Dundalk are terrible defensively). So I would recommend Kargandy to win at evens (betfair)

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Sant Julia/Bnei Yehuda T Aviv - total Over 3 (+104) The Israelis have only once been involved in a high-scoring Europa League game, but Sant Julia is there for the taking, having lost 3, 4, and 5 to nil in all of their European competitions. As Bnei Yehuda have actually not shown a great ability to keep a clean sheet in their league games, I think the Andorrans will view this as their best chance ever to score in Europe, or even (who knows) to get a result. My recollection is that this field is terrible, too...lots of bad bounces can help.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July I'm taking crusaders at 1.7 for +2 AH We (Fulham) still have a poor away record and I can't see us winning by a decent margin. Im not confident enough to go for the draw @ 6.5 but I don't see Fulham winning by a considerable margin. Sorry I can't post a proper report - as the europa league progresses I will try to give a lot more info about Fulham. P.S. I took slask as well - best price is now 1.83 ... as low as 1.66 in some markets :( well done to those who took this early

Sport Football (Europa League)
Event VÃ¥lerenga - MIKA Ashtarak
Selection VÃ¥lerenga (Lay)
Strength 1/10
Date 14/07/2011
Bookmaker/Price Coral @ 1.31
Reasoning Europa League qualification round, Valerenga, a team much better rated that Mika, but for this tip of matches the odd isn't close from the difficulty of the match, even if Norway is in full season and Valerenga have more matches played I don't see why Mika can't product a surprise, an Armenian club that is coming with a lot of confidence here, not to lose is their major objective and for me is very possible, I never trust low odds from Europa League so I'm betting against favorite, my tip 1-1. Good luck!

Was looking at this myself. Crusaders play on a plastic pitch too, which will mean IMO Fulham taking it easy a bit. There's been a lot of talk about the potential for injuries, so I don't think they'll want to come away from this encounter with half their team on crutches.... I find it strange how much the odds favour Fulham in this tie. I'd have thought Crusaders are more of a match for Fulham than Runkavik were :unsure Crusaders + 1.75 @ 2 does it for me :ok Under 2.5 goals @ 2.35 appeals also. I'd expect Fulham to play this one easily safe in the knowledge they can get them back to Craven Cottage for the second leg. This is Crusaders biggest game since the 70s, and there's a bumper crowd expected after their ground had to be expanded by a couple of thousand. Can see them putting in a spirited performance. Both with BET365.

Jol is still getting to grip with the team as well - i'd imagine he will sub on some of the 'reserves' at some point - dalle valle (sic) came on for duff in the last home game i think and that was his debut for the club. missed an absolute sitter. I wanted to go to this game but needed an insane number of loyalty points to buy tickets :( I cant really say much about the goals market except that in the PL we usually do not concede that many - even away so seems alright - certainly value there. I would imagine that on the back of expecting a fulham win also expect a wide margin. :ok

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Another I'm taking is FC Midtjylland @ 1.53 - BET365. I'm taking this bet based purely on a class difference between the Danish and Welsh leagues. FC Midtjylland generally get through their first European ties, and from what I can tell they've won their last two friendlies. Including a 5-4 win over Bremen, although I'm not aware of the relative strengths of the sides put out. Last time Midtjylland came to Wales in 08/09 they hammered Bangor 6-1, in a 10-1 aggregate score. I think judging by the results of T.N.S. in Europe they usually produce better results against the more workmanlike Eastern European sides. We saw last night when Bangor were hammered 3-0 by HJK how class can tell at this level, even when the performance might not be that great. And I see FC Midtjylland as a fair bit stronger than HJK.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July One more for me - Glentoran V FC Vorskla Poltava UNDER 2.5 goals @ 1.85 - BET365. Glentoran got through by the skin of their teeth in the previous round after drawing 4-4 with FK Renova. They now face arguably tougher opponents from Ukraine. Obviously, Mahno or someone similar should be able to provide more detail on their strengths and weaknesses. But, from what I can tell Poltava don't score many and don't concede many either. Glentoran also don't appear to be the most adventurous side going forward. I think this contest will likely be a hard fought one, with a 1-0 to Poltava being a likely result.

I posted same bet on page number 1 Jase with some short info :ok But if you want more then: Glentoran is missing many players tonight:main keep, captain Nixson and defender Taylor are suspended.Midf Gallacher and Martyn are still inured or not 100% fit.M.Barrows won't play as he left club.r.Clarke who was one of the best against Renova got married and won't play,vise-captain S.Ward is on holiday(sorry for missspellings of surnames if i done any).So almost half squad is out. Vorskla comes full guns and 100% full squad.Yes,they lost in 1st game of the season but it was due to players thoughts about this match.Vorskla players stated that they only came for victory here. Vorsklas possible line up: ----------------Dolganskiy--------------- --Dallku---Chesnakov----Peskov----Selin-- --------Krasnapyorov---Markoski--------- ---Kryvoshenko----Bezus----Rebonok------ ----------------Yanuzi-------------------- Looks like Glentoran will play 4-3-3.Vorskla are very good on counterattacks. Taking to aacount missings form Glentoran i will monitor this match and place bet on Vorskla to win in play as soon as odds will rise.Something about @1.80 or @1.90 will be a good bet.i think they may even end up with 0-0 HT.So keep an eye on Vorskla-they should win GL :ok

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Info From Glentoran website: Glentoran will again have to contend without several key players as they prepare to continue their Europa League adventure tomorrow evening against FC Vorksla Poltova of the Ukraine. The main area of concern for manager Scott Young is the centre of his defence - skipper Colin Nixon is missing after being booked in both ties with Renova in the previous round and his natural replacement Johnny Taylor will also miss out after he too collected 2 yellows whilst filling in at right-back against the Macedonian‘s. To add to the headache, vice Captain Sean Ward is out of the country for the next couple of weeks so it is likely that midfielder David Howland - who performed so admirably as a makeshift central defender in last seasons County Antrim Shield final victory against Linfield - will again have to fill that role alongside highly rated youngster Calum Birney, who will make his first start for the Club if selected. Young is, however, boosted by the return of his first choice right back Jamie McGovern after suspension and he will definitely return to the side, with Aidan O’Kane again filling the left-back spot. Aaron Hogg will continue in goal after his penalty saving debut heroics last week and with Elliot Morris still missing after his red card in Skopje. In midfield, Richard Clarke will be missing as he is currently on honeymoon. Jimmy Callacher is still missing with the injury he picked up against Bangor, Ciaran Martyn is also a couple of weeks away from a possible return and, as mentioned, David Howland will be required in defence. It is likely that Jason Hill will again take up a role in central midfield - where he performed superbly for much of the Renova game last week - alongside Kyle Cherry and either Martin Murray or Stephen Carson will be introduced in the place of Clarke. Finally in the forward department, Young will select from Andy Waterworth, Darren Boyce and Richard Gibson after the announcement this week that Matty Burrows will be leaving the Club to start a new life in Spain. Supporters will however be given the opportunity to say goodbye to Matty tomorrow evening as a mark of gratitude for his contribution to the club over the last couple of years. Vorskla, who hail from the small city of Poltova in central Ukraine, will be a stronger opponent than Renova - having won their Domestic Cup competition as recently as 2 years ago (when they defeated Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0) and finishing in 6th place in the country’s 16 team Premier Division last term. The squad, managed by Mykola Pavlov since 2007 and captained by goalkeeper Serhiy Dolhansky, boasts full international’s from Albania and Serbia (in addition to those who have been selected for the Ukraine) and reached the play-off stage of the Europa League in 2009.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July Following up with my earlier LoI tip, I'll give you a much less confident tip for the other LoI team in action tonight: Olimpia Ljubljana -v- Bohemians I don't know anything about Ljubljana, but I do know a good bit about Bohs. Bohs have a very good experienced team, with many players who have played in European qualifiers for other Irish clubs. Furthermore, Bohemians' manager is Pat Fenlon, who as Shelbourne manager, got Shelbourne to the first round of the old UEFA Cup a few years ago (drawing 0-0 at home with Deportivo La Coruna in the third round of the Champions League qualfiers on the way). He is a proven brilliant Irish manager, and with Bohemians starting this league season with huge financial difficulty, there were grave concerns as to their ability to keep the team afloat and to get results with a bare thin squad. However, Pat Fenlon has made them into an extremely hard team to break down, and they've picked up some very impressive results over the course of the first half of the season and are in a good position in the league. Due to their experienced team, they are a brilliant defensive outfit and are averaging 1.8 goals a game in the league (that's goals scored and goals conceded combined). Due to Pat Fenlon's experience in European affairs, due to the team's ability to play out low scoring games, and also due to they only having one goalscorer worth mentioning (Chris Fagan) I believe a good tip for this game tonight is under 2.5 goals @ evens (betfair). However, I don't really know much about Ljubljana, and therefore I rate this as low strength, maybe 2/10. Definitely worth a bet though.

Re: UEFA Europa League > Thursday 14 July

Good luck!
1-0 final result, it was a hard match for Valerenga but they win with the goal of berre on 68 minute, I tryed...
