Ronnie could be starting to implode here, 🤦♂️ I hope I'm wrong but he hasn't been too interested in playing proper snooker this last couple of frames. 😐
-
Both Ronnie and Barry should have a century each by now but both screwed up with amateurish positional play 🤦♂️. Hawkins very lucky to be on level terms, Ronnie sometimes displaying his 'can't be bothered' attitude. Needs to get his head down and focus on winning this and stop fooling around.

I don't think I've seen Allen play this badly this decade and yet he's somehow ahead. Higgins must be wondering how he lost two of these last three frames when on the verge of winning both, particularly the fifth one when he rashly walloped the final brown into the pocket (thus missing it) instead of calmly finishing off the frame, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Does somebody want to say it?
That both players couldn't hit a barn door at ten yards? 😆 Bloody hell I thought the standard in Hawkins Robertson was poor but this one takes the cake! 🤣

Richard Mann must be smoking some pretty strong stuff, he was clearly watching a different match to myself! 🤣 Yes, Robertson produced a couple of quality frames but he was godawful for most of the others, as was Hawkins. A couple of big breaks isn't much good if you're making basic mistakes and missing straightforward pots the rest of the time. Equally for Hawkins. No idea how Richard Mann is coming to these conclusions.

I see that Hawkins has Ronnie up next. 🤣 If he(Hawkins) plays like yesterday, 'O Sullivan will wipe the floor with him. Will see what sort of odds the bookies are offering and see if there's any decent Ronnie related bets available. 👍
EDIT: Ronnie at 2/5 (with Paddy Power) to beat a player who struggled to beat the player who's barely won a match in six months? I'll have some of that! 😁

Solid streak of bad luck, let's hope it won't carry to the GS proper!
Yes, Nuria let us down, surprising result, I wonder was she perhaps fatigued after her win in Canberra a few days ago and she just ran out of steam? Am always a bit wary of betting on matches that happen when I'm asleep! 😆 Like you say, let's hope for better fortunes when the main action starts next week! 🙂

Well Hawkins got it done in the end but both players played appalling at times. Standard really was poor overall from the pair of them, with a few comically bad shots from Robertson particularly, interspersed with some superb long pots, but it couldn't make up for his overall level of inconsistency. Hawkins though wasn't much better, his potting left a lot to be desired, he'll need a big improvement if he's to go any further in this competition.

Stay away from what?
Staying away from betting for a few days probably. Can be tricky enough this time of year. We'll get a better idea of where players are at when the Aussie Open rolls along.

This is immense from Dobey, Cross not playing that badly but he's not getting a look in. Can Littler better him? Could be a classic if both players play to their potential. (assuming Dolan doesn't spoil the show, but I can't see it happening)
-
Yes indeed, looking forward to it!
Hurkacz plays today in the United Cup, he's 13/8 with Skybet to have the most aces in 2024, nearest challenger in the betting is Opelka, who has postponed his comeback again and looks unlikely to mount a challenge to the big Pole. Am happy to throw a few quid on Hubert considering his complete annihilation of the field last year, finishing over 500 aces ahead of his nearest challenger.

Looking at PP's odds to break the record 901 barrier for 180s. Last night was a blow to this bet after Smith and Bunting barely showed up but its still available at Evens to come in. 🤔
There's thirteen matches left, even with there being longer matches in the final stages, you would need something like 17 180s on average per match for this bet to win. I doubt that's going to happen 😕 but let's hope I'm wrong! 🙂

Damon Heta to Win v Berry van Peer & Raymond van Barneveld (+1.5 Sets) v Jim Williams at 10/11 with Paddy Power, seems like it has a decent chance of coming in.

Humphries will probably beat him. He looked quite vulnerable on the doubles, Cullen.
* Looks good for Chizzy though *
Of the three, Cullen is the only one playing well, Humphreys was very poor for over half that match and Chizzy wasn't much better. Cullen to win the quarter might be worth a look.

Campbell upped his game since and Littler's finishing deserted him. He probably should have had the match sewn up at this stage but I'd say this will act as a wake up call for Littler and I think he'll blitz through the next set to win 4-1.
-
This is very impressive from Littler so far. Will be surprised if Campbell wins a set at this rate. Total domination from the youngster at the moment. His finishing is top notch and almost every throw is 100+.

Glad to see Littler get through, albeit in a less impressive way than last time out. Gilding really should have taken another set, enjoyable match though. Wonder how the bookies will respond to this less stellar but effective nonetheless performance from the young lad.

not a bad debut was it? 16yrs old.
Outstanding debut for the young lad. Lashing in the 180s and his finishing was among the best we've seen so far. His odds have come in to 14/1 in places! Intrigued to see how far he gets though after such a blistering start.

yep. sounds about right. With nothing to lose.
I think Whitlock will do better in this one but I still think Anderson wins.
Phew! Anderson threw in two hundred plus finishes in the final set to take the full house but this wasn't a vintage Gary performance by any stretch of the imagination. He'll need to up his game if he's going to go deep in this tournament. Whitlock played very well I thought, deserved a set for sure, he almost took out 130 to make it 2 sets to 1, which would have made things very interesting, but it wasn't to be.

I have a few quid on Anderson for the full house at 2/1 (special) vs Whitlock with Paddy Power. Although it's limited to ten euro stake unfortunately. I don't rate the Aussie too highly these days.

this evenings Darts has so far made me hate the game. 2hours in and we're not even near the end of the 2nd match. This Rivera is boring the crap out of me. If Barry gets through this then he is the biggest lay of the season in the next round.
Think I need to hold off the bets until the decent players start playing. This is horrible.
* just checked and the winner plays MVG lol *
Aye Barry can be very hit and miss. Also plays well in spurts then falls off the wagon completely. Against MVG I wouldn't be surprised if he comes out all guns blazing and wins the first set, then gets destroyed for the remainder of the match! 😆

X post removed. You could try being at least semi-polite, as all the other posters are. I don't go around posting X links willy nilly on here, as you well know, and if I did post one or two before, it was quite some time ago. I remember posting one comment about the Aussie Open in another thread which wasn't specifically a thread for the Australian Open, but it was a general comment and absolutely nobody had an issue with it, except it seems, you. Seriously dude, let's just keep the talk to tennis (and other sports in the other sections) and be respectful to each other, and we'll all get along fine.
