Yeah, there have been a few fans suggesting him but it's been greeted with the (outrageously and ill-formed) snobbery of other fans claiming "anyone can score goals in the Scottish Premiership!". I'm all for giving him a go. I felt we should have given others more of a chance in the past rather than persist with the likes of Simon Church and Tyler Roberts. Kieffer Moore has the number 9 role sewn up but we need more options up front. Usually, Wales are never short of attacking front-line talent and it's often our defence that is weak but we really could do with a natural goalscorer. He'd get so much supply from the likes of Gareth Bale, Harry Wilson, Aaron Ramsey, Tom Lawrence, and Daniel James.

If he keeps scoring goals at this rate, Giggs can't ignore him. He's one of those players that only seems to score scruffy goals, in and around the 6 yard box, has a knack of being in the right place at the right time, he's good in the air also. With the likes of Bale and Ramsey supplying, he'd score a few. He's decent, doesn't matter what league he plays in.

  2. Ross County v Kilmarnock.

I've been thinking about this all day and finally decided to pull the trigger.

I was impressed with Killie at Easter Road 10 days ago and they followed that up with a good display in a draw with Celtic, I think tonight they can get their first win of the season that their play deserves.

Ross Co have started well with narrow wins over Motherwell and Hamilton but I'm not sure that's all that impressive, there seems to be something wrong at Motherwell just now, possibly manager problems, and Hamilton are awful. Killie edge it here for me.

    Kilmarnock @ 2.40 - 1pt.

  3. Dundee Utd v Hibernian.

I'm liking the look of this Hibs team a lot, scoring 6 times in the first 2 games and still not conceding from open play (direct free kick v Killie, penalty v Livi). The exact same team as Saturday has been announced and a similar performance should see it 3 wins from 3.

Utd got a decent result at Motherwell at the weekend in a disciplined, functional performance but I thought Motherwell were poor for the second game in a row. I don't think Utd look great at the back and that could spell disaster against the Hibs attack.

Just like the Hibs team tonight, why change a winning formula, same bets as the weekend for me, with a change to the goalscorer bet.

    Hibs @ 2.30 - 2pts.

    Hibs Halftime @ 3.00 - 1pt.

    Kevin Nisbet First Goalscorer @ 5.50 - 0.5pt.

  4. Livingston v Hibernian.

As @StevieDay1983 points out, the artificial pitch gives Livingston a bit of an advantage at home (Tony Macaroni is a chain of Italian restaurants up here, the stadium's been nicknamed The Spaghettihad by fans). They have, however lost a couple of key men from last season and were very poor away to St Mirren last week, looking lethargic and not looking up to match speed yet.

Hibs have clearly got the better squad and started the season with a good win over Kilmarnock, going 2 nil up after 30 minutes in a decent first half display, I think they tired a little bit in the second half and sat in and defended their lead quite comfortably, the Hibs goalie not really having a save to make.

Hibs will play with a different formation than last week, Christian Doidge coming back in to be the central focus up front with Boyle back on the right wing. The frankly disgraceful pitch means you have to alter your style of play and Hibs have the players to do that when required, going long for Doidge to hold up or for Boyle to run onto could unlock the Livi back 4 and I've got a feeling the game could go the same way as last week with Hibs racing into an early lead. I think the bookies have overpriced the away win here, I'd have Hibs as favourites.

    Hibs @ 3.00 - 2pts.

    Hibs Half Time @ 3.60 - 1pt.

    Martin Boyle Anytime Scorer @ 3.25 - 0.5pt.

  5. Good start to the season but it wasn't a great performance from Hibs, there were long spells when Killie were on top but Hibs defended well and hung on for the win, Martin Boyle being the difference between the sides, plenty room for improvement though. Betting wise it's 1 win from 1 so can't complain too much.

Can only see a convincing Celtic win today, only question is by how many, as usual in Glasgow, if they score early it can get messy, so i've had a little punt on an early goal.

    Celtic winning at 15 minutes @ 3.00 - 0.5pt.

  6. Hibs go into the new season looking in better shape than a few other clubs, the new signings so far look like we've addressed the obvious weaknesses last season and with 1 or 2 more additions before the transfer window closes, a challenge for European places look on the cards.

For once, Hibs made their main signings early and have had the whole squad in training for quite a while now, reports are they've settled in well and everything seems positive ahead of the new season. Reports from Kilmarnock suggest the opposite, they lost a lot of players and were short of numbers a couple of weeks ago, they also have a couple of key players missing due to injuries.

I think a straightforward home win looks the outcome here in an empty Easter Road and there looks a little bit of value to be had.

    Hibernian @ 2.10 - 2pts.

    Manchester United vs Bournemouth

The Premier League is edging closer to its season end and as the games tick by the importance of games is growing for teams at the top and the bottom of the table. That's certainly the case in this game where Manchester United will look to give their Champions League qualification hopes a boost against a relegation-threatened Bournemouth side in this 3pm BST kick-off on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have been in fine form since the restart of the top flight of English football. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen his United side move to 5th in the table having gone 8 league games unbeaten and 15 games in all competitions. This has included back-to-back 3-0 wins against Sheffield United and Brighton. Influential central midfielder Bruno Fernandes is quickly proving his worth with a number of dazzling displays in the middle of the park. One of the most surprising statistics from this run has been the fact that the Red Devils have kept six clean sheets from those matches.

Bournemouth are in a dark place right now. I'm not sure what's gone wrong for Eddie Howe's side but this season has been a difficult one. The Cherries are down in 19th place and could potentially be 4 points adrift of safety if results go against them this weekend. The heady days of just 3 defeats from their opening 11 league games seem a world away. The team has drawn 1 and lost 6 of their last 7 league games having lost every game since the return from lockdown suspension. Just 2 goals scored and 9 goals conceded in their last 4 league games shows you that the problems are at both ends of the pitch and with just 6 league games to go that's a very worrying state of affairs.

Every single bit of information tells us that this could be a painful experience for Bournemouth against a Manchester United side that are really stretching their legs right now. You'd simply be a fool to bet against United right now to the same degree that you'd be foolish to consider backing the away side in their current plight. I think a clean sheet United win seems to best option for this one.

Man Utd ht/ft looks the bet of the day to me Stevie, clear improvement from them recently, Bournemouth look hopeless at the moment.

    Bayern Munich vs Eintracht Frankfurt

The evening kick-off in the Bundesliga today is a 5:30pm BST start when league leaders Bayern Munich welcome a struggling Eintracht Frankfurt to hell... I mean, the Allianz Arena. It won't take you long to guess that we're going to be backing a convincing home win in this one. Do the statistics suggest that we should be backing this game to end any other way?

Bayern Munich are sitting proudly top of the league with 58 points from their 26 league games so far. It's been far from a vintage season by Die Bayern but they've somehow pulled themselves back into the mix and are now situated 4 points clear of 2nd placed Borussia Dortmund. Manager Hans Dieter-Flick saw his side overcome a resilient Union Berlin with a 2-0 victory last week. That victory made it 11 wins and 1 draw from their last 12 league games. It was way back on 30th November, 2019 when this side last tasted defeat at home in the league.

Eintracht Frankfurt had been looking like they could take the next step in their modern day evolution to break into the Champions League spots but player sales have halted that progress. Adi Hutter's side are now wallowing down in 13th place and after their disappointing 3-1 loss at home to Borussia Monchengladbach last week only sit 5 points above the relegation play-off place. It's now 4 defeats in a row in the league with 13 goals conceded during that run. These are worrying times for fans of Die Adler.

It goes without saying that everyone is backing the home win here. It's simply more a question of by how many and how quickly will the Frankfurt defences crumble? Bayern are simply irresistible at home right now and are storming their way to another Bundesliga title. Only something special and miraculous can prevent a one-way affair in this game and I can't see it.

Nice one Stevie, followed you with both of these, 1pt on each, my only bets of the day :ok

    Chinandega FC vs Real Esteli

OK, didn't think I'd have time to fit in a preview for these evening matches but I've managed to get the kids off to bed early after a hectic Easter Sunday so I'll put something up last minute. First up, it's the 10pm BST kick-off between Chinandega FC and Real Esteli at the Estadio Efrain Tijerino. Can the Apertura champions keep the pressure up on the top two?

Chinandega FC head into this game in 7th place and 2 points behind the play-off pace. Reyna Espinoza knows a win will move his side into the top six but a draw or defeat could seriously harm their hopes of making the play-off quarter-finals with only a couple of league games remaining after today. A 3-0 loss to Diriangen in midweek ended a run of two victories in a row and put a halt on the club's play-off charge. Has that defeat knocked the wind out of the team's sails?

Real Esteli are still right in the mix to finish in the top two and qualify for the play-off semi-finals. The success of the Apertura phase counts for nothing. A win is needed to stay in touch with 2nd placed Diriangen but anything less and Holver Flores could be looking at leading his players into the play-offs at the quarter-final phase. It's now three league matches without a win and only 1 goal scored in those games. Something isn't right with the team and they need to correct it quickly.

To put it bluntly, this game is huge for both sides. Chinandega FC's play-off hopes could well be decided by what happens in this game. Win and their fate is in their own hands. Draw or lose and they need to rely on other results. Real Esteli simply need to win to keep up with the top two otherwise they're on the brink of missing out. Pressure is everywhere and I think the quality of Real Esteli might just see them through. I am far from confident though and knowing my luck a bore draw due to nerves and caution will be the end result. @allyhibs, what's your cat saying? :lol
