ffs mate, I don't think anyone believes Scotland are going to win the world cup, merely enjoying a brief, long awaited moment of positivity, talk about pissing on the parade, maybe you should stop worrying about what  motherwell players are doing next summer, and go for a nice relaxing bath.

    Well said mate.

I'll just ignore the troll, he's got history of arguing for the sake of it, clueless.

This is the feeling I've had over this run but it feels like Steve Clarke is now starting to find a system that works well. I thought Scotland have played really efficiently in their past 4 matches. @allyhibs is no doubt on the biggest covid-19 secure piss-up since he was born but I'll be interested to hear how he feels after that win. Their next couple of UEFA Nations League games could really see them enter the 2020 European Championship in a very good place. It's going to be a very interesting 6 months or so for the Tartan Army. If they keep on improving then they could be the spanner in their group next summer.

Unfortunately I had to go to work this morning Steve so celebrations were muted but that was a very well deserved and hard earned result. It's true it took a while for me to be convinced by Steve Clarke, his squad selections and results were poor to start with but it's clear that he's found a system that works and solved a couple of problems on the way, the belief the players have in themselves is clear as day and that goes a long way in football.

Finding a way to fit Tierney and Robertson into the side, dropping McTominay deeper, bringing in Declan Gallacher and Lyndon Dykes are all pieces of good management, he's even managed to get Callum MacGregor to finally show his Celtic form for his country. ( Dykes especially has been very good since coming in, does the job he's being asked to do superbly well). There's some decent young talent emerging also and for the first time in a long, long time, I'm looking forward to what this group could be capable of, we're certainly moving in the right direction.

  3. Aberdeen v Hibernian.

Last weeks disappointment in the cup semi would be a hard one to take for the Hibs players and I think they'll be going into this game with a point to prove, we're due a win over Aberdeen and the odds on the away win are too tempting for me to ignore. Not hugely confident but worth a punt.

    Hibs @ 3.30 - 1pt.

    St Johnstone v Kilmarnock.

Kilmarnock look a huge price here and are more than capable of getting the win.

    Kilmarnock @ 4.20 - 1pt.

  4. Hearts v Hibernian.

With Hibs having played 12 competitive games so far this season, sitting 3rd in the Premiership and playing some decent football, they surely have an edge over Hearts, who have only just started their Championship campaign with 2 games played. Looking a both teams squads together, Hibs are clearly the better team at the moment and should cause the Hearts defence a lot of problems today. I know I wear my green tinted glasses always but I seriously feel if Hibs turn up today and play the way they're capable of then there is only going to be one winner. I think this could be a comfortable evening for Edinburghs good guys.

    Hibs @ 2.50 - 4pts.

    Kevin Nisbet Anytime Scorer @ 2.45 - 1pt.

    Penalty Taken Yes @ 3.25 - 0.5pt.

    Dunfermline v QOS.

Dunfermline really looking the part so far this season up against a struggling Queens, home win stroll.

    Dunfermline HT/ FT @ 2.50 - 1pt

    Dundee v Raith.

Raith have started the season superbly and simply have to backed at these ridiculous odds.

    Raith @ 3.70 - 0.5pt.

    Stranraer v Queens Park.

I've said it before, Queens Park are the team to beat in this league this season and I think should be odds on here.

    Queens Park @ 2.05 - 2pts.

    I don’t have a club side.

They’re two very different players to try and compare, but scoring goals for either half of the Old Firm, particularly Celtic, given their recent dominance, doesn’t really impress me.

I've never heard of a football fan who doesn't support a club!

He scored goals for fun in one of the poorest Hibs sides in my lifetime, very impressive.

Again, we’ll have to agree to disagree on that one, given that there’s no real way to prove it either way.

I assume that you’re referring to Oli McBurnie?

Two very different types of attackers you’re comparing, but I’d say there’s a reason, in terms of standard, that one of them plays every week, in the English Premier League, and the other one doesn’t.

Yeah, we'll agree to disagree, just a matter of opinion after all. Between McBurnie and Griifiths though, I know who I'd rather have in my team.

    Who's your team btw?

  7. 19 minutes ago, BrandNew said:

I totally disagree. I don’t think that there are many Scottish Premiership players who could play in the English Premier League, and Griffiths isn’t one of them. Made to look good by playing up front for Celtic, in my opinion.

In fact, I’ve just realised that I’m talking to a Hibs fan, so I assume that there is some degree of bias in your opinion of him. Perhaps in mine too, as a Scotland fan.

It's not bias, like I said, I think he's a bit of a dick, but as a Hibs fan I watched him playing every week for a few years and he was very good. If MacBurnie can make a living in the epl, then Griffiths could easily, a far, far better player.

  8. Got to agree with @willie82 above, Cove look a good thing today but at current odds of 1.50 I think it's one for the accumulators.

    Kilmarnock v Hibernian.

I'm still wondering how Hibs didn't win last week at Ross County, we played some very decent stuff at times and could easily have won by 4 or 5 goals, 26 shots on goal and not one hitting the net tells it's own story and I'm getting the feeling we're due to give someone a hammering soon. A performance anywhere like last week should see an away win here at what I think look decent odds.

    Hibs @ 2.40 - 1pt.

    Alloa v Dunfermline.

Dunfermline looked very good last week coming back from losing an early goal to run out 3-1 winners. Same again today means 3 points. NAP.

    Dunfermline @ 1.91 - 3pts.

    QOS - Raith.

I think QOS could struggle this year, up against a Raith side today who look in good shape and who won convincingly last week, the away win looks a nice price.

    Raith @ 2.65 - 1pt.

    Partick v Airdrie.

The odds on the away win look massive to me and just have to be backed.

    Airdrie @ 3.80 - 1pt.

@StevieDay1983 @allyhibs does anyone of you two have any clue or ideas about Glasgow Rangers tonight?

Rangers have been impressive this season, they're a very good side and could cause Standard a few problems, they'll certainly be in a very positive mood after just beating Celtic. With the news of players missing for the home side, backing Rangers looks tempting  but I think I'd be looking for better odds than the 2.05 that's widely available. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if they got a result though, as far as I can tell, they look like they're at full strength tonight.

  10. Dundee Utd v Aberdeen.

After a decent start to the season, Dundee Utd have fell away a bit, I've not been impressed at all by the new manager, far too defensive. Aberdeen are a far better side and should be odds on here.

    Aberdeen @ 2.10 - 2pts.

    Dunfermline v Inverness.

Dunfermline have had big financial investment over the summer and look like they've recruited well, they look a better side than Inverness and the odds for the home win look decent.

    Dunfermline @ 2.45 - 1pt.

    Ross County v Hibernian.

Straightforward away win on the cards here but I think the bookies have priced it about right so no value there.

    Stirling v Queens Park.

Queens park are another club who've had big financial investment over the summer and have signed a bunch of players who could easily play at a higher level. Very much the team to beat in this league. Away win odds look spot on again though so I've added Hibs for a double.

    Hibs, Queens Park Double @ 3.18 - 1pt.

  11. Scotland v Slovakia.

With Steve Clarke continuing to bore everyone to sleep, I can't quite believe Scotland are odds on to win this. Slovakia aren't exactly world beaters but they look overpriced to beat a side who played 120 minutes the other night and didn't get 1 shot on target against the might of Israel. I could never bet on my team to lose however, so my bet for this has to be the same as the Israel game, under goals.

    Under 1.5 goals @ 2.75 - 1pt.

    Israel v Czech Republic.

The Czech C team were impressive against Scotland and were unbelievably unlucky not to win the game, you have to think the A team are a much higher quality than Israel, the away win odds look overpriced to me. Max bet.

    Czech Republic @ 2.20 - 4pts.

    Clarke.

I don’t blame him, or whichever poor soul is unlucky enough to land the job, we just don’t have the defenders or attackers to compete at a level required to qualify for major tournaments.

I agree, I don't necessarily blame Clarke, it's a thankless task being Scotland manager, it's just his character is rather dour and negative, just like his football. In the Czech game, his experiment with McTominay at the back clearly failed, he is just not a defender, if he plays him there again tonight he loses my support. The group of players at the moment are strong in midfield, ridiculously strong at left back and that's about it, until we can find a striker and centre half then we just can't compete against the better countries. Who knows, maybe they're both at my team (Porteous and Nesbit).

It annoys me when the media/commentators/some fans throw around things like ‘3 wins in a row’ or ‘5 matches unbeaten,’ trying to claim we’re improving, when in reality that’s made up entirely of meaningless matches, lower ranked teams (including San Marino), and the Czech Republic’s makeshift team. Any decent opposition would still take us apart, like Belgium and Russia did, home and away.

Yeah, it's been really disappointing since Clark came in, we look terrible, the players don't look like they're buying into his methods. Still can't believe we got a result against the Czech C team, they were miles better than us.

Hibs were superb for 70 minutes on Friday night and could easily have been 5 or 6 up if it wasn't for the Hamilton goalie playing a blinder, we then got a bit sloppy, conceding a penalty then an own goal but it was far more comfortable than the scoreline suggests.

    St Johnstone v Celtic.

Obviously there's a gulf in quality between the two sides here, if Celtic turn up then there's only one outcome, I can't believe how big the odds are for Celtic beating the -1 handicap. Obvious value here.

    Celtic -1 @ 2.10 - 2pts.

    Never in doubt :loon
