Wow, watched the United game and it was painful. For a second there I thought van Gaal was still in charge
You could see how badly he spent 200 million pounds, because not one player he bought had any impact on the game.
Energy - low, Pace - low, Speed -low,desire -low, intensity - low.
It took them into the 90th minute to have a shot on target. 1 SHOT ON GOAL IN 91 MINUTES. !!!
It also does not help when the Feynoord player was offside when getting the through ball.
    Glad I dodged this bullet

inter are going to get trashing by juventus and it's no wonder mancini left. they haven't signed players and are another italian giant sliding down to nothing more than mid table club. juventus are on another level anyway. i can't trust roma as they've gone back to being unreliable defensively. they could be 3-0 up and let it slip away. that's so frustrating. i thought udinese would struggle this season as they've been so over reliance on di natale but so far in good form and scoring. i fancy them for grab a home victory

    Hi there.
Stevie, don't forget that Lille was smatched by Monaco last week. They are weaker and weaker year after year. For this season, they lost Boufal who was their best weapon. Enyama is not in a great form, defense was the last quality of Lille, and now it's falling down. Obviously, Lorient is much more sexy with Moukandjo and Waris in front of attack. As conclusion, it's a no bet match.
How win money with Ligue 1 ?
Monaco is underfire, I can't see a team like Rennes which is still in construction for me, resist to a realistic team of Monaco. Gourcuff, dad and son, may make a good season but it's too early.
Bordeaux, with their new coach and the arrival of Menez is an interesting team to follow. At home, against a poor Angers for the moment, it's a victory.
Last choice for me is a result for Metz away from home. OK Dijon beat Lyon and what else ? We saw that Lyon is not ready (some disagreements between Aulas and Genesio for me).
Metz can run on their current form. Double chance for me and a fun with Erding scorer.

France Ligue2: Bourg - Le Havre

Bourg-en-Bresse are back to their free and easy ways, play a very open style, are comfortable on the ball when in possession, quite pleasing on the eye and look vulnerable when defending, in other words, they are fun to watch ! Last season their games produced an average 2.79 goals and only relegated Creteil conceded more. They met a pair of teams with a defend first, ask questions later approach in their two opening games and it took a while to return to normal service, but their last five starts have seen 20 goals with both scoring in each and any time they face a team who will not sit back, we should see goals and plenty of them. The two league meetings with Le Havre last season produced nine goals with eight for HAC and it is hard to see the visitors coming with just a point in mind. They have lost their way after a great start to their season and they are now five league and cup games without a win, through which they have conceded 10 goals in three home starts (!) and we are talking about the pre season promotion favourites here.

There is no doubt that Le Havre are the stronger squad, but BEBP probably have a little more confidence right now and do play with a bit of a swagger, both to score........1-3 feels about right, but best value has to be ........

    Odds provided by bet365.
One factor to remember when betting this week is not only did Italian sides play in Europe in mid-week but a full schedule of fixtures are lined up for mid-week this coming week so some sides might switch their squad up for this weekend's fixtures.
The one game I am drawn to is Inter Milan versus Juventus. Inter suffered a shock 2-0 defeat in the Europa League on Thursday night to Israeli side Hapoel Be'er Sheva. They will be keen to rectify that this weekend. Juventus have started positively with three wins though but it has been far from straight forward. I can see a draw here. I would also back both teams to score.

Football form is a true statistic. You can't switch it on and off. Man City have been excellent under Pep. Munchen Gladbach
have been really poor away from home.
Man City have won 6/6 games, and 5/6 have been won HT and FT. In 4 of 6 games Man City have scored 2 or more 1st half goals.
In the EPL no team has more than 2 HT wins in 4 games. City have 4/4.
For me the HT/FT Man CIty win/win is the way to go, at a seriously  nice priced 2 (bet 365).

A game I would be interested in, but not betting is SPurs v Monaco. SPurs to have a real battle here.

The purpose of this forum is to allow members to run Glory Hunts, there is no specific definition of what a Glory Hunt is, it is simply a betting system and how it works could be anything. The rules have been kept to an absolute minimum. In other Forums on Punters Lounge posters are required to give information such as reasoning behind a bet. Here you give as much or as little as you want as long as you stick to the rules.

    Glory Hunters Forum Rules.
    - Stick to a single thread per Glory Hunt. To keep the forum as a whole clear with distinct threads. No problem if someone runs multiple threads as long as the subject, hunt, for each thread is different. - In the top post give a description of your Glory Hunt with as much or as little detail as you are willing to give. If you don't want to give any details just say so. People do actually read your thread and will appreciate the info in the top post so they know what it's about. You may also use the top post to maintain a 'current result' status of the thread and update that, along with the thread title, - Absolutely NO EDITING of posts containing selections. Results (or correcting mistakes) are to be added in a new post quoting the post with selections. You can continuously edit the thread title or top post to show the current status of the hunt. Edits create doubt as it may appear bets have been changed afterwards, even when this is not the case at all. No editing means no hassle. - Keep a running account of the results and update regularly. There is no fixed format for this as long as the profit/loss can clearly be seen at the end of the thread. Absence of a running results account may result in the thread being closed. - Post regular bets BEFORE the event. - Post in-play bets AS SOON AS the bet has been made. Include all relevant information to each bet, minimal: date, event and time, selection, odds, stake. Here also there is no fixed format as long as it's clear what the bet is. ONLY post in-play bets if you are willing to provide a screenshot when requested. Requests for screenshots are made by moderators, not just anyone. If anyone has doubts about a bet and thinks a screenshot is in order he should contact a mod. ( if PM is not yet available to you use the email adress [email protected] ) Please note if you wish to run a "Consecutive winners" thread and be mentioned in the league table then your bets must also be numbered sequentially. Not required but highly recommended - In the top post give an indication when you will post your selections, it will be greatly appreciated by anyone who wants to follow your Hunt. - Post a clear aim or target for your hunt. We don't mind 'i'll see how far i get' threads but in our experience they simply aren't efficient. - Use a starting bank of 100 points, it is most common with betting systems and makes it easier for people to compare with other systems. It's fine if you want to use monetary stakes and bank. Please note we do expect you to use 'real' amounts and large stakes may prompt a moderator to ask for a screenshot, even for regular bets posted before the event. - Provide information. It is after all a Forum, the more info you provide the more feedback you will get. No after-eventing. We would like to remind you of the house rules where it is clearly stated:
The GH forum allows for an exception to the general rule of NO AFTER-EVENTING by allowing in-play bets to be used in a Glory Hunt. The condition is however that a moderator may ask for a screenshot of a bet. In fact it is recommended you provide a screenshot before being asked especially in cases where you have a big winner or a bet just before a goal is scored. Screenshots can be posted in the thread or if requested by a moderator by email to that moderator. Apart from that exception the no after-eventing rule also applies to the Glory Hunters forum. Do not talk about results unless the bets have been posted on Punters Lounge before the event. Moderation Posters of threads that don't comply with the above rules will be asked by the moderators to make adjustments. Please do not take that personally, our aim is simply to make the forum work well for everyone. People who repeatedly disregard any of these rules may find their thread getting closed and in extreme cases find themselves banned from use of the forum. If you wish to object to an action of one of the moderators then don't do so on the open forum. Contact Punters Lounge owner Paul Ross by email on [email protected] to discuss the matter. No commercial Tipsters/Websites/Services. This Forum is not intended for commercial Tipsters/Websites/Services/Etc... to post proofing threads or even to plainly advertise. ( either openly or covertly ) Any thread deemed to fall under this category will be remove and the poster banned at the sole discretion of the moderators team. Any exception to this rule needs to be requested beforehand by contacting PL's owner Paul Ross on [email protected]

Threads on trading and in-play strategies.
Throughout Punters Lounge we have a rule that says all bets need to be posted before the event starts. The "no after-eventing" rule. However in the case of trading or in-play betting it is not always possible to do this. In the S&S forum we will allow exeptions to the "no after-eventing" rule on an individual and thread by thread basis. You cannot simply start a thread containing "after-the-event" bets. You must contact one of the moderators first, explain what you'd like to do and make a suggestion on how you intend to make your "after-the-event" bets verifiable. In case of a "paper-trail" thread you need to provide proof that the odds of your bets where available at the time you say they where available.
In case of a "real-life" thread you need to provide proof that bets where actually placed when you say they where placed. Your request will be reviewed/discussed by the full moderators team and then an exception can be granted. Details of the conditions under which the exception is granted are then to appear in the top post of the thread. In general we will accept screen captures as proof. ( but again we will look at requests on a case by case basis )
You can post screen captures in public view but there is also a "proofing" forum for this. The forum is only visible to the moderators, those members running trading threads and possibly a small number of regular members. This is so screen captures can be posted as proof but at the same time the poster retains some privacy.
So a possible structure for a trading thread could be: ( but not limited to ) 1) post intended trades before the event 2) post bets as they are being placed as much as possible 3) post a summary of the result of intended trades 4a) post, in public view, a screenshot of market odds or placed bets 4b) post, visible to the mods team only, a screenshot of market odds or placed bets And as always keep a running account of the overall result of all bets in the thread.

The purpose of this forum is to discuss betting systems.
The rules are here to encourage people to provide information so discussions and cooperation is possible. If you want to post a system but are not willing to give information about it then check out the Glory Hunters Forum.

    Rules for posting betting systems.
Top post must contain following info:
    - A description of the betting system, bet selection process and staking plan.
Obviously we want as much details as possible but it is not required. A statement like "it's private, under wraps, secret" however is not sufficient. You must give a description of the bet selection process as well as the staking plan used sufficient for anyone else to get a clear idea of what's involved. The whole idea of this Forum is to share information about a chosen betting system or strategy. The more information you post the more chance you have of someone else making a contribution to your system.
    - Clearly state if the system is a 'real life' system or a 'paper trail' system. Real life means you think the system is ready to be used with real money, paper trail means you are still testing and proofing and you do not recommend putting money on the system yet.
    Other rules:
    - Stick to a single thread per Betting System.
    - Post bets before the event with all info related to the bet(s) ( what you bet on, price and bookmaker, stake size, etc... ) It will be much appreciated if the bet selections are posted sufficient time before the event to allow others to follow the system and place bets themselves.
    - Absolutely no editing of posts containing selections You can edit the thread title or top post to show the current status of the system. If you made a mistake add another post with the correction or ask one of the mods to do the edit for you.
    - Keep a running account of the results and update regularly. It will be most appreciated to provide an update of the systems results every time you post the results of placed bets, if this is not possible please state the frequency of the update, for example weekly, end of the weekend.
System result must contain as a minimal: Current bank , Profit (or Loss) , Yield
These results should be posted as a running overview of the system for as long as its been running.
It will be appreciated to write the system result with the full info : Starting bank Current bank Total staked Number of bets Winning bets Losing bets Strike rate Yield Profit (or Loss)
When calculating system results take into account costs like commission.
Results are calculated like this :
Strike rate = Winning bets / Total bets ( written as a percentage )
Yield = Profit (or Loss) / Total staked ( written as a percentage )
It is also recommended to use a 100 point starting bank. This is most easy to relate to for most people and allows better for comparisons to be made.
"nothing ventured, nothing gained"..... in this case, for the OVERS, 60 units ventured, nothing gained
As for the UNDERS - sinking without trace. In fact, if the next two are losers, the system is "bust" (zero bank)

Also taken PSG to win at 2.5 and a bigger bet DNB at 1.7-1.78 (betfair)..PSG have been very solid at home for years and Real haven't been playing well for a while, it looks 50/50 to me who wins that group but PSG are far stronger at home than away so will look to make this game count.
Regarding Madrid's injuries, Benzema and Modric might play - expect Ramos to start. Given that Benz and Mod have muscular injuries it would be a risk to start them but it wouldn't surprise me to see Benz start. Given the way they play James is a bigger miss than Bale. PSG rested a number of players at the weekend who were carrying knocks, expect Di Maria, Veratti, Matuidi and Motta to start.
Can't resist taking Sevilla DNB at 4.5 (betfair), City without Silva and Aguero are generally a different proposition in Europe, Aguero gets most of their goals and Bony tends to look clumsy against tactically astute sides. De Bruyne is a good player and will have to take most of the creative responsibility. I don't think Sevilla are any great shakes but they have picked up a bit in the league recently Gameiro is no Bacca but the price is good and with draw cover I'll give it a go as City rarely convince in Europe like they do in the Prem.

    Astana are resting players for the game against Atletico as they have an important league game at the weekend. This is from Marca;
"A visit to Calderón is never peaceful. Intensity combat Atletico played four days before a title is not the recommended recipe. Or at least, he must have thought Stanimir Stoilov, coach of Astana, aware that the Champions League is far from the war around. Given the position to prioritize, it is clear, the Kazakh league.

Therefore, both the squad and the eleven line up, there are several absences regarding the 12 players who faced Benfica and Galatasaray. Among them, Roger Canas, fixed to center field and scored on Saturday in the victory against Ordabasy. Even the added point before Turkish technician clouds intentions. "Our priority is the Kazakh League. They are nine hour flight to Madrid. I will put to rest four or five regulars," he warned.

Astana this weekend will face Kairat Almaty, leader of the League playoff decides, five points behind. Hence, the four remaining games are vital to try to reissue the title won last year for the first time in its history. "We send all our strength to win the Kairat. We are realistic and know that Atletico is better," he said."
Atletico handicap is pretty skinny at 1.425, wouldn't back them to win by 3 but -2.0AH might be playable..I expect them to win by at least two, Simeone wants to win the group and they have to win this if they are to achieve this.

    Georgia v Gibraltar
Gibraltar will lose this game, doubt if Georgia will score more than 4 though, defensive sides struggle to attack on masse but the Gibraltar defence - especially the goalkeeper - are of poor standard and the worst in this competition. They are decent going forward though and will attack at every opportunity - another reason they have conceded so many goals in this comp, they try to score unlike San Marino and Andorra (away at least) who just sit in and press in their defensive third. Gibraltar have scored against Scotland and Poland away and very nearly against Ireland away too so I don't think it is beyond them to score here, 4.0 looks too good to pass up.
    Over 2.5 Goals and BTS - 4.0 - bet365 - 2 Points
    Switzerland v San Marino
The banker of the round. No chance at all Switzerland won't score at least 3 with the players they have, San Marino haven't improved much. Only get nervous if they get a set piece in the Switzerland half which will happen probably 3 or 4 times, Switzerland haven't qualified yet so need to win the game.
    Over 2.5 Goals and BTS (No) - 1.30 - bet365 - 20 Points
    Croatia v Bulgaria
Bulgaria are fairly hopeless, already out of the competition they have rotated the squad quite a lot. 6 of the starters from the last match against Italy haven't been called up (1 is suspended) especially in defence they look light on experience. Popov their best attacking player has been declared fit to play which is a bonus but they have been really struggling to score goals. Croatia have to win this game - simple as that, in a right scrap to qualify. Mandzukic is injured so Kalinic will come in, he has been doing well for Fiorentina so that isn't much of a negative. Modric, Rakitic, Kovacic, Perisic will all start. Probably not worth it at current odds, best to look at it in-play.
    Croatia -1.0AH - 1.65 - bet365 - 4 Points

    Hi, Aidymac.
Thanks for all your efforts in starting these football threads, and posting the opening odds.
You used to post "decimal" odds - now I notice you are quoting "fractional" odds. This is not a criticism, but I think most football punters think in "decimals" - our (horse) racing colleagues are more familiar with "fractional" odds.
