  1. Re: Weekly Nap Competition, Day 6, Friday 5th June 3.25 Catt - Medina Sidonia - win at 25/1 bog wm hill Middle distance maiden My horse has only ran twice.........the second occasion he went off favourite for a maiden race on soft ground but appeared not to handle it and was eased The eye-catching run was his first when beaten 10 lengths on his racecourse debut by Epicuris, a group one winner at 2 who lines up in the Derby tomorrow Give him a chance on decent ground to prove that he's better than his odds

  2. Re: WEEKLY NAP OF THE DAY COMPETITION, DAY 5 THURSDAY 4TH JUNE 3.00 Ham - Beach Action - win at 10/1 bog bet365 6f maiden race for older horses My selection is the top rated of these on OR now that Pomme de Terre is a NR(some haven't got ratings yet) and should be suited by the return to ground with a bit of cut after a couple of runs on good to firm Has the plum draw in 1 and the uphill finish here could bring stamina into play as he generally runs over 7 furlongs

  3. Re: Weekly Nap Competition Day 4 - Wednesday 3rd June 2.10 Font - Only Gorgeous - EW at 66/1 bog boyles Novice hurdle My horse was pretty poor in Points and didn't complete on his last 4 outings.......but then took a year out and reappeared three weeks ago in an Aintree bumper. Given that that was probably a better race than this he did OK to finish 9th, beaten 22 lengths Hopefully in his year off he's had jumping practise as that was usually his downfall in Points

  4. Re: Weekly Nap Competition - Day 3 Tuesday 2nd June 6.35 Sou - Cearys - EW at 80/1 bog bet365 Novice hurdle Going for one of the big outsiders here. Pulled Up on sole start to date on racecourse debut. But she had raced prominently for the first 6 obstacles before fading. With just the one run she's had less chance to blot her copybook than most of these who have already run enough times to afford proof that they're useless. My horse is still on trial and hasn't been convicted yet. The two at the head of the market look OK so it would be helpful if they could collide mid air at the first and both unseat their riders, obviously with no serious injuries incurred

  5. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread I think the fact that O'Brien was toying with running his Miler and/or one of his fillies suggests that he doesn't think any of his Derby colts are good enough I reckon the prize with be staying at home this year.......(probably go to France now!)

  6. Re: Weekly Nap Competition Day 2 - Monday 1st June Carl 7.10 - New Bidder - win at 16/1 bog skybet Sprint handicap My selection goes well in soft ground, has won a couple of times at tracks with uphill finishes, is well drawn, is below his last winning mark, drops into a 0-80 for the first time in a while and has Graham Lee booked He's been well beaten in his two runs this year but there's a chance he might bounce back with everything in his favour........the 'new' thing they're trying is bringing him out again quickly as he only ran a few days ago

  7. Re: Daily Nap Competition Day 1 31st May 2015 Nott 2.45 - Hallstatt - win at 10/1 bog bet365 Staying handicap My horse is a bit of an old timer at 9 years of age but goes well here with 4 wins at the track and he also won on his seasonal debut last year. Paul Mulrennan rides - he rode him to both his wins last season Only 1lb above last winning mark so must have a chance if age hasn't finally caught up with him

  8. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Some small print on the bookies T&Cs....... I backed a winner today and put the bet on a minute before the off. In that minute the horse drifted in the betting.........but I didn't get BOG Apparently you don't get BOG if you place the bet within 10 minutes of the off time.......that counts as 'Board Prices' for which BOG is not applicable (Stan James) I never knew that.........:cry anyone know the reason behind that ?

  9. Re: Daily nap competition day 7 30th may 2015 2.10 Newm - Lord Kelvin - win at 40/1 bog bet365 2yo maiden Taking a chance on one of the newcomers here......comes from a big yard who traditionally start their best juveniles at Newmarket. Quite expensive and value rose significantly on his second visit to the ring This looks a decent maiden with a couple of promising second time out runners and newcomers from Hannon and Godolphin and my selection will need to be good to win this on debut

  10. Re: Daily Nap Competition Day 6 29th May Newm 2.00 - Secret Insider - win at 12/1 bog wm hill 2yo maiden - the NR has reduced it to 7 runners otherwise I might have gone EW We have an odds on favourite, Blossomtime, who finished 2nd FTO here at HQ. With the Charlie Appleby juveniles improving for a run this season he looks the most likely winner but obviously no good for competition purposes The Hannon 2nd favourite doesn't look much kop and Gosden's two year olds haven't got going yet So there might be some value in another newcomer giving the favourite a race. My selection is a 150K purchase who's related to US grade 2 winners. The trainer has already had a first time out 2yo winner here this season

  11. Re: Flat Racing Friday 29th May Reminder........dual Arc heroine Treve makes her seasonal reappearance today in the 2.20 at Saint-Cloud, a group 2 race over an extended 10 furlongs She was narrowly beaten on her seasonal debut last year but faces nothing of the calibre of Cirrus des Aigles today and will be well odds-on the race should be on both racing channels

  12. Re: DAILY NAP COMPETITION - DAY 5 - 28TH MAY 2015 Hayd 2.20 - Pivotal Dream - ew at 66/1 bog wm hill 2yo maiden So far in this comp I've managed to get 15-20 points each week but that's obviously not enough so a rethink might be required ! I'm going to try bigger prices and EW........some people might shout 'pin job' but I'll try and seek out the value huge priced ones ! Today's runner is amongst the big outsiders. She's been beaten about 10 lengths in both her maidens to date but has shown some promise. First time she was never put in the race, dropped in at the back and given what might be referred to as an educational ride, passing a few horses towards the finish. Second time out she was ridden more prominently but ran a bit free and the jockey was pulling her back to get her to settle Here she's drawn in stall 1 which I'm hoping is against a rail.......I'd like to see her allowed to run without too much yanking around by the jockey. Let's see if she can use the benefit of two 'educational' outings to settle a bit better Sixth furlong should suit

    1st Western Hymn 2nd Arab Spring 3rd Eagle top 4th Tryster 5th Tullius 6th Niceofyoutotellme distance 1st-6th - 20 lengths good luck lads !
I knew Tullius would be a non runner ! I'll just move the last one up to 5th 1st Western Hymn 2nd Arab Spring 3rd Eagle top 4th Tryster 5th Niceofyoutotellme Dist 1st to 5th - 20 lengths
  14. Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Day 4 Wednesday 27th May 2015 Ham 2.10 - Livella Fella - win at 33/1 bog bet365 2yo maiden The ones at the head of the market will probably provide the winner - I like of the look of the favourite London Protocol who has a lot going for him But of the bigger priced ones my selection is a newcomer.......the angle being that the trainer saddled a newcomer to win this race two years ago. He also runs one with experience here but she's already shown herself to be not much good

  15. Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Tuesday 26th May 2.20 Red - Whispering Soul - win at 18/1 bog skybet 2yo maiden There's always the chance that one of the once raced horses will improve enough to win but none of them looked obvious maiden winners on debut so I'm going for one of the bigger priced newcomers My selection was the most expensive of these going through the sales. The yard of Ann Duffield can get first time out winners - she had 3 last season and this one is the biggest price of her two runners here despite being the most expensive and apparently having the stable's preferred jockey on

  16. Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May Leic 2.40 - Everywish - win at 25/1 bog PP Seller My selection has only had two runs in maidens and drops into a Seller The race she ran in last time looked OK......a Windsor maiden with runners from some big yards, Goldolphin, Balding, Stoute. She was a well beaten 6th but this should be easier and she might improve after only two visits to the track. The horse that finished immediately behind her has won a handicap

  17. Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Sunday 3.55 Curr - Kissed By Angels - win at 7/1 bog Ladbrokes No flat racing in the UK ! Going for the big race of the day in Ireland - the 1000 Gns On the face of it my selection is O'Brien's second string with Ryan on Found But Found was not very impressive on her seasonal debut raising a little doubt over how she has trained on My selection on the other hand was very impressive in winning the 1000 Gns Trial at Leopardstown with a couple of todays rivals well beaten Joseph on board........
