  1. 3.40 Donny - sheikhzayedroad - win at 6/1 bog wm hill

    Doncaster cup

With the likely favourite a non runner this looks wide open

My horse is 7yo but pretty unexposed over staying trips having stuck to middle distances for most of his career

Won at Meydan and finished 3rd in both the Ascot gold Cup and Goodwood Cup. Was staying on at the finish in both those races so an extra few furlongs today could suit and has form on all ground

  2. 5.55 Kemp - Varun's Bride - win at 8/1 bog wm hill

    2yo nursery

my selection ran in Newmarket and Newbury maidens which suggests they thought she was OK

finished 3rd at Brighton last time beaten about 5 lengths.......doesn't look great on paper but the two in front of her have provan to be above average

most of the fancied ones tonight are drawn high so there must be a chance for something outside the top 3 in the betting

  3. 2.30 Leic - Ornate - win at 10/3 bog betvictor

    Conditions race over 5F

My horse is best in at the weights and is a 5F specialist whereas a couple of the others might be better over 6F

He was a decent juvenile, finishing 2nd in the Flying Childers but has struggled a bit this year. He's too high in the weights for handicaps but not good enough for group races. So these kind of conditions races below listed level offer his best opportunity

Pinning my hopes a bit on first time tongue tie.......

  4. 2.00 Bri - Dynamic Girl - win at 5/2 bog bet365

    6F fillies hcap

With the ground turning softer there's a lot of non runners here but my horse has won on soft ground so hopefully she'll take her chance

Won last time out on g/f but won her maiden on soft. Won at Chepstoe so this undulating track shouldn't bother her.

Up 6lbs but appeared to have something in hand last time and this looks a fairly weak affair

The Haggas filly has been disappointing and Dance Band won a poor looking maiden on the AW

  5. York 3.40 - Kodicat - ew at 16/1 bog bet365

    2yo maiden

My horse ran OK on debut but then was well beaten last time at Haydock. However that turned out t be a good race with the first 3 all winning in group/listed company since.. My horse travelled well but appeared not to see out the race, as indeed she had on debut

Had 3 months off since then so I'm hoping she's strengthened up and is now ready to show her true colours

K Ryan often runs his better 2yos at York

  6. 4.05 Strat - Dothraki Raider - EW at 40/1 bog bet365

    Novice hurdle

Looking for one that might be better than he's shown so far

My horse is lightly raced and was still running green when last seen back in April. Has a hood on today which might help him settle.

Only 4 career runs and has been well beaten in soft or heavy ground on two of those.........his two runs on better ground have shown promise in bumpers

Hurdle debut and gets 7lbs from 3 of the ones at the top of the market.

  7. Kem 7.30 - Syndicate - win at 15/8 bog bet365

    7F conditions race

My horse finished 2nd in a Newbury maiden that is working out well......the 5th, 6th and 7th have al won next time out and none of the first 4 have run since

There's some previous winners in the line up but they both carry a penalty for winning 3 runs ago and have slightly disappointed since

I'm wary of Balding's newcomer, Highland Pass (currently 10/1) - he often sends his decent horses to Kempton and I reckon she's got a good EW chance but will have to be smart to beat these first time out

Sou 1.50 - Minella Forfitness - win at

    3m handicap chase

To date my horse has been effective at around 20F but looks well handicapped if he gets the longer trip. He tried it last time out

    Premature submission.......:loon

    Sou 1.50 - Minella Forfitness - win at 14/1 bog bet365

    3m handicap chase

To date my horse has been effective at around 20F but looks well handicapped if he gets the longer trip. He tried it last time out and was still there with 2F to go before fading. However that was a better race and I'll give him another chance against this lot

I don't think Southwell puts any particular emphasis on stamina

  9. 3.15 Epsom - King Crimson - win at 12/1 bog bet365

5f dash downhill at Epsom........should be good fun !

My horse is a speedy front runner who hasn't run here before but could well be suited by the track. In good nick having won last time. That win puts him on a career high mark but they use a 7lb claimer to offset that

Usually wins in lower grades than this and wins at Brighton so there are doubts........I'm a bit undecided like some kind of 21st century schizoid man........:loon

  10. 3.20 Good - Shady McCoy - win at 11/1 bog wm hill

    7f handicap

My selection appears to be on the upgrade after winning a class 3 handicap over CD off an 11lb higher mark than his previous winning mark. Up another 3lbs today but that doesn't look excessive

Has a high draw today which is considered 'bad' but he was in 10 last time and horses in 12, 11 and 17 were also in the first 5 home so maybe the effect of the draw is over-estimated although helping to get better odds !

  11. 4.05 Thirsk - Escalating - win at 12/1 bog wm hill

    6f handicap

The ground has come up soft at Thirsk which should suit my selection down to the ground and might not suit some of the others

He's still fairly lightly raced with just 15 career runs. Seven pounds higher than last winning mark but he won that handicap by over 4 lengths and has had excuses for his two runs since....

  12. 1.40 Ling - Madam Prancealot - win at 7/1 bog wm hill

    7f nursery

my selection didn't do too much in maidens but ran well on nursery debut last time when stepped up to 7F

Although beaten 5 lengths that was a higher grade and the winner has gone in again since and she's been dropped a couple of pounds

Man of the moment Jim Crowley takes over riding duties.......which is a good sign on the day that his agent says he's going for the Jockey's championship. He wouldn't want t be riding no hopers !
