I watch a lot of racing i also watch a lot of the betting movements and it is my opinion that the sp is 99% of the time less than the last show (sometimes many points shorter). this is what happens when there are no on course bookies. the offline firms (all accountants not bookies) can pretty much do as they like. A further observation is that more often than not half the field is shortened up either just before the off or after it, I bet lots of FC and TC and the returns are getting murdered, 10+ horse being shortened up when only one can win is not a level playing field. The worse thing about it is we can do nothing about it.

Just looking at this 1:45 at ponty and doing the speed figures (dodgy this time of year) and for info purposes only i have it between roseabad 12/1 and pythagoras 13/2 and mystery angel 7/1 in that order so i recon the fav isn't that strong prob make a prat of myself but numbers are numbers.

Yes i always do All ways fc and always tc when i go to the trouble of doing the speed figures, pity roseabad was slowly away but that's life.

With all due respect it's only the winning bets that need to be double checked and of those only the ones that have retracted in price so in reality not many . 
I'm sure there are members who would be prepared to help out at this difficult time and take on the task of updating the league until a suitable replacement has been found. 
As a footnote I'm keen to see it done properly so everyone can see zilzalian's achievement , certainly worthy of a mention and with 13 days left  could be close to beating the record this month

Hi Fader. Firstly, thanks for taking over running the Naps Comp and Sir Puntalot KO Cup in this time of mourning. I'm sure it's the last thing you want to be doing at this moment in time. Also, i'm sure i speak for a lot of the Punters Lounge family when i say, that trying to carry on picking out naps for the comp and general picks in the daily thread as well as the £20 challenge, has been difficult. I was going to take a break from it all and reflect, but comments about how he would of wanted us to carry on has encouraged me to keep on going. We all know that Graham has left some HUGE boots for someone to try and fill and from comments it would appear he did far more than any one knew,so again i thank you for stepping in. 
My second point is my nap for yesterday came 4th and did not win.

I don't know what to say. Absolutely devastating news ? From the first day I registered here to the present day I have been taken aback by the dedication and work of Graham and despite never meeting him, am absolutely gutted about this.
RIP Graham - sincere condolences to Suzy and the rest of his family and friends. 
 

This is absolutely devastating news...i'm in total shock. I have never met Graham but we have messaged each other on a few occasions and he has always been so nice and helpful. He always had time with any questions i had, even though he had so much on his plate with all he does on Punters Lounge. He also,with his wife Suzy, ran a dog charity, homing stray dogs from Romania. I still can't quite believe it, first Paul Ross and now Graham Sarson. I have only been a member a short while, but to me Graham (Billy Hills) was Punters Lounge and he will be missed by all of us very much.
My thoughts go out to Suzy and his family and friends and co-workers at Punters Lounge. 
I'll miss you buddy....RIP.......

Persian King - from A Fabre yard the 4yo has never been the distance but it will be heavy going so anything can happen, With the Gosden two look good so hope for a big price place in my pick, He's only been out of first two once a 4th place at Deauville 1m heavy beaten 8.5 lengths but has won at this track three times and further distance 1m 2.5f but is still learning and improving with Pierre-Charles Boudot in saddle.
