  1. 5.20 York Bosh one point win at 4/1 with Bet365
  2. Gone for fun bets at York. well done to anyone who makes money there today 1.50 El Astornaute (win it 2018) £1 win at 25/1 + 50p win on Hurricane Ivor (TM) at 15/2 2.25 Imperial Fighter (OM) £1 win at 15/2 3.00 Yibir (JD) £1 win at 17/2 3.35 Macswinney (KM) £1 win at 18/1 4.10 Bodyline (LM/SmP) 50p win at 10/1 + Nicholas T (BR one to be watched I believe) 50p win at 22/1 4.45 Atiyah (WB) Up 11lbs but running well £1 win at 14/1 5.20 Instinctive Move (HC/CC) £1 win at 25/1 £7.50 looks cheap for an afternoon's entertainment. Good luck to all PL members today at York, especially @TheBrigadierwho I'm sure will have some loyal followers
  3. Looks like Bet35 had the right price for Vitalline as it is now around 2/1 everywhere. I have invested in a Trixie £2 win Trixie = £8.00 based upon the above big 3 selections. 1.40 Bath Cherrish 2/1 3.35 York Mishriff 2/1 6.30 Worc Mr Tambourine Man 2/1 Possible return of £108.00 Single: 5.20 York Bosh £2 win at 5.2 = profit of £8.43 if it wins Not sure I would go for a recovery bet on the last leg if the first two fail in my Trixie, that would cost £4.00 at 2/1 and I may prefer to spend that on another £1 win Trixie/ Total stakes = £10.00 so far. Now to look at the more complicated task of the best jockey/apprentice bookings of the day Put off looking at the big guns jockeys/apprentices at York for now and will put up a few outsiders 4.35 Bath Disey's Edge (MP5) 50p win at 50/1 = £25.50 Return. I have already backed Mollie Philips on Cherrish in my Trixie. She's a diamond 18/96 19% and + £28.33 well worth a 50p investment 6.45 Km Almodovar Del Rio (SC3) un-raced so a speculative £1 win 12/1 7.45 Km Fred (BC/the canny Mark Johnston) could bounce back. £1 win at 16/1 8.15 Km Appellation (AK/RH) another that could bounce back £1 win at 14/1 Total stakes £13.50 so far. I guess I should look at York but there are so many of my top jockeys/apprentices riding there it looks a nightmare to find winner(s)
  4. THE SAME SELECTIONS OF THREE WELL KNOWN TIPSTERS 3.35 York Mishriff 13/8, 7/4 5.20 York Bosh 4/1, 9/2 2.05 Carl Perfect News Evens 3.15 Carl Goobinator 13/8 1.40 Bath Cherrish 15/8 2.15 Bath Kaboo 4/5 3.25 Bath Manor Park 2/1 5.00 Worc Beyond The Clouds 8/11 6.30 Worc Mr Tambourine Man 5/2 7.30 Worc Mulberry Hill 5/4, 11/8 6.15 Km Vitalline 6/4 (But Bet 365 offering 15/8) Perhaps they have been talking to @MCLARKEabout Hollie Doyle being aboard. 11 Selections from 5 meetings. I might try a trixie on the best priced ones; we''ll see. Good luck to York players today
  5. From my point of view a horse doesn't get to a race track without a trainer sending it there and it doesn't get around a the race track without a jockey riding it. I think that the the trainer and jockey element are a huge part of whether a horse will win a race on the day. Trainers confound ratings and statistics by getting up to all kinds of tricks by racing horses under unsuitable conditions before they go for the win. I don't know how one can build in these factors into ratings or statistics. When it comes to the jockey, the most important part for me is that the recently successful ones are sought after by trainers/owners when they feel that their horse is in a race with a good chance of winning it. Hence, it pays to look out for a successful top jockey or apprentice who is booked for a ride, especially when they do not usually ride them or have not been on the horse before.
  6. I couldn't have got it more wrong about Oisin Murphy's rides; should have backed the first three. Isn't hindsight wonderful All this put me off a bit I have had £1 to win on James Doyle's mount in the 5.25 at Leicester Girl In The Picture at 14/1 I also intended to do his other runner in the 5.55 Red Joan but the reports were so bad that I putt £2.30 on Tom Marquand's ride Adaay In Asia at 5.5 = £10.14 p if it wins with an insurance bet of £1 on Sows at 10/30 = £4.33 if it wins Tom Marquand has a lot of rides their today, many at short prices so I think I will skip them Hopefully La Pulga will win the 5.35 at Carlise so I can get my multiples money back RESULTS UPDATE Got my money back on my multiples as La Pulga was awarded the 5.35 race at Carlisle. I'm a first past the post man myself but I have to go along with the rules and sometimes I get a return. At least Tom obliged for me on Adaay In Asia so there was a net profit on the day of £6.79. This made my new balance £791.64 (Bank £1056.22). Oisin Murphy got the first three and my fancy came third. Two out of four for the big three tipsters but since those two were odds on these produced a small loss at £10 level stakes. Have to look at tomorrows cards now so let's hope that they throw up some interesting selections
  7. It depends who she is for me 🤣 Seriously though, so sorry you lost. I know you put your money where your mouth is.
  8. I was thinking of backing Rawyaan with Jim Crowley aboard but now I'm having second thoughts
  9. Hi Alex. If l state a bet then I have made a bet. I will tend to have a punt on the higher priced selections but I thought there was room for a values bet on these today. It should be interesting t to see how these selections fare over the coming days. You never know they may well do well at York 🤞
  10. THE SAME SELECTIONS OF THREE WELL KNOWN TIPSTERS Not many qualifiers today from 5 meetings including Ireland (A) 2.50 Ham Line Of Descent 10/11 (B) 3.25 Ham Legendary Day 2/1, 11/5 (C) 4.35 Ham Wots The Wifi 13/8 (D) 5.35 Carl La Pulga EV (B) (C) £5 win double = £42 poss return (A), (D) £2 win double = Poss Return £7.63 In bet Looks better value than a £1 win Yankee costing £11.00 Back a bit later with top jockey/apprentices selections ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not had much time to check out the jocks but just a few bets before I prepare lunch 1.30 Wolv Between The Sheets (WB) £1 win at 8/1 2.00 Wolv Adaaydreambeliver (DP) £1 win at 10/1 Oisin has 6 rides today, most at short prices, the best at 5/1 for good reason. Possibly his best value chance is Fantaope but I haven't backed it yet Time seems to disappear on me when I need it most for racing study
  11. I'm too tired to work through the matched selections of the same three tipsters right now. I will do so in the morning. Nighty night

Quite short prices available and I have only plumped for one so far. Looking at the top jockeys/apprentices I see that the big guns Oisin Murphy, Will Buick and Tom Marquand all vie with each other at Windsor tonight. This makes the selection process more problematic so as an early start I have decided to focus on James Doyle 31/151 = 21% -£58 om the All weather at Lingfield and Danny Tudhope 60/344 17% -£85.99 on turf at Catterick. Quite amazing to think that even with a 21% strike rate a jockey will only win about 1 in 5 of his races. James has 5 rides at Catterick so should at least get 1 winner, haha. His first ride is Scherazade in the 1.00 Disappointed at Windsor last time and now back on polytrack. I'll pass. He has Nepal in the 1.30 which seems to have plenty to prove. He has Smooth Spirit in the 2.40 that does look a lively contender. He has Algheed in the 3.15 and Timeform seem to have doubts about this one. Lastly he has Seneca Chief in the 3.50 which has the blessing of the big 3 and has 4lbs extra to carry. Danny Tudhope has now only 2 rides at Catterick but I think we can safely disregard Thesethings happen in the 4.05 at 66/1 and up against the 1/4 favourite Nadein. This leaves Oh So Woke in the 3.30 This is his best chance today. It has drifted a bit in the betting as the market has plumped for Mutaabeq with Ben Curtis aboard. I still thinks its worth taking a small punt on My Trixie today is therefore: 2.40 Ling Smooth Spirit (JD) 7/4 3.30 Catt Oh SO Woke (DT) 10/3 3.50 Ling Seneca Chief (JD) 11/8 £2 win Trixie = £8.00 poss return of £114.07 Had £2.20 win on Oh So Woke at 15/4 = £10.45 Return if it wins Total stakes so far = £10.20 Will now grapple with the Windsor contestants Results Update Got out of jail with The Princes Poet £2.50 win at 5.2 posted up on another page, therefore 9p profit on the day
  13. I have now bookmarked the word "chat" so as to find the post(s). I'm not a techie so I get thrown when I can't find the on going chat posts. Many thanks
  14. What did you call it? I always look under "Racing" if its not there I get confused
  15. Luckily for me I did not waste £10 on Seneca Chief at evens (I have to say that Cieron Fallon seems to be coming into his own now, well done to him) Instead I have gone on my stakes retrieval mission with £2.50 to win on The Princes Poet with Will Buick in the saddle in the 5.55 Windsor = £10.29 profit if it wins. On a lonely day here at PL I will sign off and go make my burgers Once again good luck to anyone punting on the forum Total stakes now £12.70. No disaster if my mission fails
  16. Looks like people are sleeping until the York Ebor meeting. My trixie selection got beaten a neck and the first big 3 selection that I didn't back won by a neck I will go and make some burgers now. If I get some time later I may look at Windsor but this looks like a nightmare when viewing from a jockey/apprentice angle. May be the top 3 tipsters have the answer with Rose Barton and Glen Esk. Good luck to any of the PL souls braving the racing elements today Haha, I see that James Doyle has just won on one I didn't back! Looks like one of those days

  18. RESULTS UPDATE HO,HO,HO the big 3/4 came across today tipping 4 out of 5 winners HE, HE, HE I Won £100.77 ON A £1 win trixie by backing three of them as I posted up last night. Upon reflection I think that I have been frustrated by the short priced losing favourites that these media tipsters have posted up recently. When I saw what looked to be a bit of value, luckily I had the good common sense to follow them. I will try and post these up nightly from now on and it's up to anyone looking at them to see if they feel that the selections are worth another look Of the Deauville selections I feel a little unlucky that Will Buick didn't win on Oneforthegutter, beaten a head. Tom Marquand did win on Splash Of Spice for me at 10/1, Apart from the jockey, which is why I backed it, the only clue I had was that it had come down 17lbs in the weights, the sort of thing that @TheBrigadierlikes. It is difficult for me to decide whether to back or not to back the outsiders of my favourite jockeys/apprentices as all seem so complicated. However, I have decided to work through the top ones downwards such as Oisin Murphy's rides and then move on to the next best e.g. Will Buick etc It is a bit more tricky with the apprentices because one can't expect them to be up in the 20%+ winners bracket but none the less the trainers engage them to take off valuable weight. My net win on the day is £97.07 which at least increases my balance to £784.76 (Bank £1056.22) I will look at tomorrows card later Have a good evening all. .
  19. Missed it completely, however, it would have been on my radar with Ray Dawson claiming 3lbs had I gone down the top jockey/apprentices food chain. Sorry you missed it
  20. 4.45 Chelm Doublethetrouble one point win at 4/1 with Betfair
  21. Hmm? I thought that that the shortest would be in your naps but this is 7/2 in the lucky last at Chelmsford . I wish you well with both; I haven't looked at your £20 challenge selection
  22. Other bets today: 4.45 Chelm Doublethetrouble (OM) £2.50 win at 4/1 = £12.50. Oisin has 3 rides today. He is odds on in the 1.50 and has Fury in the last. Neither of these horses look like trail blazers so I'll go with Doublethetrouble 2.35 Pont Dash of Spice (TM) £1 win at 10/1 3.45 Pont Ready to Venture (TM) £1.20 win at 7/2 = £5.40 Ins bet for above Trixie 4.20 Pont Chocolate Box (TM) £1 win at 15/2 = £8.50 poss return. None of Tom's rides inspire too much confidence today and I have left out Mishal Star in the 3.10 Had some speculative bets on Will Buick's rides at Deauville. 12.58 Oneforthegutter £1 w at 6/1, 2.50 Midtown £1 win at 16/1, 3.25 £1 win on Santorine 20/1 and 4.00 £1 win on Sayida at 11/1 Charlie Appleby's runner. Couldn't resist having £1 win on Latest Generation at 8/1 with James Doyle aboard in the 3.25 Got the best in the business riding for me today so I can't miss can I? Total stakes £14.70
  23. I was wondering where Will Buick was today. I have had a £1 win at 16/1 on Midtown. Will take a peak at his other rides too Had £1 win on all his other rides too. 12.58 Oneforthegutter 6/1, 3.25 Santorine 20/1 and 4.00 Sayida 11/1 this is a Charlie Appleby runner. £4 well spent I hope. Also had £1 win on Latest Genereation at 8/1 with James Doyle aboard. I don't usually bet in foreign races as I don't have access to the info that I use to make bets. However, I don't mind the occasional dabble. Thanks for highlighting Deauville today
