I think the bigger problem is as on the flat which is all the good Horses in the hands of a few trainers If we look at the O'Brien operations for example they have that many that they can even distribute them amongst family, nepotism is huge in racing. The real reason we are in this situation now is basically that back in the day the Irish government supported their racing industry through lower VAT rates, tax exemptions whereas the British deliberately didn't. Why have a horse in Britain when you could have the same horse in Ireland at say 20% less tax/costs?

Personally I would only allow 1 entry per trainer for each race.
Its like entering 6 teams in the FA cup
And one horse per owner unlike Gigginstown & Magners who have zillions in some races in Ireland similar to A.P.O'Brien they hog the big races & prize monies by multiple entries lessening the chances for smaller yards / owners to have success .
