Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament? Firstly can I just say I was gutted you never won the F1 championship this year :( Oh well always next year. The question depends on a couple of things Massa. How much cash are you going into the tourney with originally? - Obviously if you are going in with £1,000 as opposed to £100 you will be looking to make 10 x the amount you would with £100. How big the tourney is? - For many smaller tournaments you won't get matched for large amounts, especially just moments before the markets close. Bringing your income down. The delay difference - This maybe decided by the previous point on how large the tourney is, as to how well the media and BF manage to keep up with the live goings on. Obviously with a larger time slice available the amount you can win will go up ten-fold. It really depends how much you went into the tourney with tho mostly, as it would be still stupidly difficult achieving 50k in profit from an original stake of £10!! Scotty :ok

Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament? Frist thanks, but that sucker Hamilton got lucky. Well my question i mean maximum to make if you would do this professionally so bank size doesnt matter, most times you cant hoover 50k anyway so say with bank size 50k. What do you think you would expect to do say in one Masters series tournament. cheers.

Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament?

Sorry but what is courtsiding? Couldn't find it on the net.
I presume it means getting tickets for a live tennis match, taking a laptop with a 3G internet dongle and knowing the outcome of each point before people watching various live streams (which are delayed by 15-20 seconds usually) do, and then making optimal back/lay decisions with more advanced information than other people.

Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament? The 'faces' following the ATP around are finding it more and more difficult to get court side these days. They were taking action last month at the Madrid Masters - don't know what the situation is now. http://www.theage.com.au/news/sport/tennis/punters-face-an-atp-ban/2008/10/10/1223145637435.html

Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament? I have a new estimate and i think that at Australian open alone they will be doing propably about 500k to 1 million pound. Its so easy and so many people to stupid to pull their money out after points.

Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament? I thought this section of the Forum was for "systems" not "cheating". I'm all for reducing the bookmaker's edge, but I think you have to keep it clean..... but, if we're talking about 500k :loon:loon:loon.... anyone know where you can buy 3G internet dongles ?? :lol

Just look at the amounts matched at what prices by the courtsiders after each point and you know see its enourmous. You can basically become milllaire in one tournament.

You are quite right, Felipe.... you are not "cheating" the bookmakers (i.e. Betfair) who will take their 5% commission in any case.... but you are "cheating" the honest punter (like you and me).... which is probably even worse :\. Anyway, good luck to you if you decide to become a millionaire ;)

Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament? OK.... perhaps I've been a bit too moralistic with my previous comments about "cheating". But I still don't understand how the "system" can work... for example, you are sitting in the front row of the stadium... Federer is 40-30 up on his serve against Nadal. Federer serves an "ace" to win the game..... first you have to wait say 2 seconds to make sure there's no appeal by Nadal against the point.... then say another 2 to 3 seconds to place your bet (either back Federer, or lay Nadal, depending on the odds and the liquidity). Then, there is a waiting period imposed by Betfair of (say) 5 seconds. That means a total of (at least) 10 seconds between Federer serving the ace and Betfair accepting your bet. Surely Betfair's communication system is faster than 10 seconds, and the market will have been "suspended" ??? ...... or perhaps I'm missing some technological issue, and talking through my ar*e as usual.

Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament? This potentially intriguing thread has gone ominously quiet. Perhaps Mr. Massa is busy spending his first million :dude.... and perhaps the rest of us are frantically trying to set up our new 3G phones together with their dingle-dangle-dongles ;) One thing I couldn't understand was why Mr. Massa was willing to share with us his "method" (I am reluctant to call it a "system").... surely its success depends on as few punters as possible using it, otherwise Betfair's system will get clogged up with last-second bets.... and somebody at Betfair may get suspicious :unsure

Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament? Thanks, Serdar.... and :welcome to PL. "Glad that you are back" ??.... I never actually left ;). For Felipe..... yes, I have dabbled with Betfair, but never in a serious way.... no trading etc. Yes, I am aware of one-click betting software..... good luck to you :ok

Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament? My mate and me going to go courtsider next month. We expect to make about 300k we can share then over the course of the week. If we were to go to a Masters or Grandslam tournament I am sure there is more money t be made becasue of higher liquidity, but lets see how that goes first. I keep you up to date.

Re: How much money to make with courtsiding one tennis tournament?

I don`t get your jokes really' date=' somebody explain? I am not joking i am serious btw.
Well, aside from it being illegal (well....the tournament operators would have you believe it's illegal anyway...it's probably at least *minor* fraud)... So you'd be risking being banned for life, aswell as having all your laptop taken, betting accounts frozen and funds confiscated...and possibly a prison sentence too (and all the "fun" that goes along with prison...i'm sure you'll find out)... I'm sure you DO take this seriously, but for the risks involved - it's at least borderline amusing. I don't know about your sense of humour, but please picture this: unshaven man sitting "courtside" with his top of the range laptop, furiously typing away at Betfair...hardly concentrating on the match at all, all attention is going to laptop (why would this unshaven man go to a tennis game and then "play" on his laptop the whole game?.....security might wonder this, since they've been instructed to keep an eye on anyone with a laptop at a tennis match), he doesn't notice the security "team" approaching (by team, i mean the nastiest bunch you have ever seen, these guys were assembled to break the bones of people like you - and any resistance would just give them excuse to make their day) because he is so engrossed with his laptop....a few hours later, dishevelled, manhandled, and cavity searched, without any kind of electronic equipment (which means his phone, laptop, pda, ipod, watch, dildo are all gone) at all (all confiscated, "for use as evidence" they say)....this man is forced to cough up ALL betting account details, and subsequentially ALL winnings for the past few years have been removed from the account (because after all - he was probably involved in fraudulent activity, and each will need to inspected separately)...and money not in the betting account means that it is forcibly removed from his bank account. Forcibly removed? Yes, and since he put ALL his cash into this courtsiding idea, he has gone HUGELY overdrawn and now owes his bank thousands of pounds. When the security team finish through his laptop, they find illegal pornography (not at all far-fetched, this guy likes to live dangerously after all....just look here to see what happens http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/01/24/extreme_pron_law_live/) He is hit by The Pon Law, and prosecuted for fraud too.... He is locked away for a very long time. I find this funny... It tickles me deep down inside.... Because anyone who is willing to risk everything for this amount of money, well, it can go one of two ways - he gets caught and is plastered all over the news and called a fool, dies in prison (raped and all) after committing suicide being unabe to pay all the fines he owes.... ...or he's a hero - because he pulls it off....then it goes to his head, and he keeps doing it...then he's caught - see above for how that ends. Good Luck Mate - you will need it, i wish I had your courage, confidence, studpity... Best of luck, and I hope you keep us informed how your adventures pan out..... :ok :ok :ok
