Re: Project WSOP 2007 - BELIEVE!!!!!

Thats a damn good question actually :ok Would be interested to hear if anyone knows the answer
the last few years the $1500 has been just before the main event(about 3or 4 days),as quite a few of us want to try to get in that as well it makes more sense as the $1000 has been nearer the start of the wsop. 3 weeks stay in vegas would easily cane the extra $500 unless you were really rolling on the tables, so it makes sense to go for the $1500 unless the games have moved round a bit:ok

Re: Project WSOP 2007 - BELIEVE!!!!! Great news!!! Cheers for this Hedonist. I was told they wouldn't be released until january time. Just need to know when the $1500 and $1000 are scheduled for now. If they are just a few days before the main Event then I've booked my holiday too early.....:unsure. I've booked the last two weeks in June so far, but may need to change/extend this now!!!

Re: Project WSOP 2007 - BELIEVE!!!!!

No more news on Event Schedules yet then guys....?
Sorry mate - think I missed this before :unsure Not many events ongoing yet ...... but popped in here for the Laddies one on Friday :ok (actually - will give it its own thread to make sure it's not missed) Other than that, just a league providing a chance ..... Hendon Mob - top 9 play an STT for a WSOP Main Event Package - halfway through we have 2 PL'rs in the top 9, and a whole bunch in the chasing pack - reckon we have about a 30% chance of a WSOP ME winner here :ok Thought there was another too :unsure but can't recall it off the top on my head.....

Re: Project WSOP 2007 - BELIEVE!!!!! Harrah's Releases World Series of Poker Schedule Schedule Includes 13 "Championship" Events, Including Main Event It didn’t seem like Harrah’s could pack any more tournaments into the month-and-a-half poker festival that is known as the World Series of Poker, but it managed nine more events than last year, which shattered all attendance records and had people waiting in lines outside the Rio’s Amazon room just to get a peek at the action. This year, 55 bracelets will be won and it would cost $214,500 to play in all the events, without any rebuys. The WSOP kicks off June 1, with a $5,000 mixed hold’em event, which features both limit and no-limit forms of the game. Also that day is the $500 casino employee’s event that, in recent years, started the whole celebration. With such an ambitious schedule, almost all the days between June 1 and July 6, which is the first day of the main event, have more than one tournament scheduled. Most days, either a $1,000 or $1,500 event is scheduled. On average, most of the tournaments cost less than $2,500 and most of the events are multi-day affairs. There are 18 events that cost $1,500, seven at $1,000, eight for $2,000 and four at $2,500, and all of these go longer than a day. Harrah’s says last year, more than 42,000 entrants from 56 countries played in the WSOP. Harrah’s also brought back many of the mixed tournaments that players asked for last year, including the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E, event (one of three H.O.R.S.E events), a S.H.O.E event, and two mixed hold’em events. The main event starts July 6 with the first flight. The schedule lists the number of players at 3,000 per each starting day, but more players could possible play. There will be three days of starting groups, and then a day off (last year, there were four starting days). “Day 2” actually starts on the fifth day of the main event, when the players play for six consecutive days. The day before the final table, which is scheduled to take place Monday, July 17, is another day off. Harrah’s was able to cut down on the starting days because it will be able to run up to 300 tables at a time. The Gaming Life Expo is scheduled to take place July at the Rio July 5-8. Last year, Harrah’s says more than 100,000 people visited the expo. Check back to CardPlayer.com for the complete schedule later today. Harrah’s is also spreading 13 “World Championship” events this year, including the main event. They are:

  • $5,000 mixed hold’em two day event, June 1
  • $5,000 seven-card stud event three-day event, June 6
  • $5,000 pot-limit hold’em three-day event, June 8
  • $1,000 no-limit hold’em ladies three-day event, June 10
  • $5,000 limit hold’em three-day event, June 10
  • $3,000 seven-card stud eight-or-better three-day event, June 14
  • $5,000 heads-up no-limit hold’em three-day event, June 19
  • $5,000 Omaha eight-or-better three-day event, June 21
  • $50,000 H.O.R.S.E five-day event, June 24
  • $1,000 seniors no-limit hold’em three-day event, June 25
  • $10,000 pot-limit Omaha two-day event, July 1
  • $5,000 no-limit 2-7 draw lowball with rebuys two-day event, July 4
  • $10,000 no-limit main event, July 6.

Re: Project WSOP 2007 - BELIEVE!!!!!

Gaz' date=' there are 6 $1500 No Limit events to choose from. Surely darts won't get in the way of all of them?[/quote'] I'll only get there around the 28th/29th ish of June, and the Darts is on the 1st-3rd of July (longer for those that qualify) so I'll have to miss out. I'm more bothered about the satellites anyway to be honest.

Re: Project WSOP 2007 - BELIEVE!!!!! Anyone thinking of going to vegas, suggest you sign up at www.playersclub.com (the official MGM members club) - They often offer rooms in MGM Grand for $60 per night. Everyone on the Wynn guest book mailing list was also recently offered a no strings attatched FREE room on 11th February (I think these offers are few and far between). The Venetian often sell off rooms at $99 on Priceline (for late bookings) - they are (at time I checked) the only 5 star hotel on the Strip on Priceline books - so you know which hotel it is. They do some strange things with bookings though (also on their site) - if you book a range of nights, it seems that they will charge every night at the same rate as the most expensive night - breaking bookings up into midweek and weekends can yield significant savings (though MAY result in having to move rooms mid stay). There's also a "$20 trick" that apparently works with about a 75% success rate - if you fold up a $20 note and put it under your credit card, whilst leaving it visible to the booking clerk and asking if they have and "complimentary upgrades" available (whilst checking the supervisor isn't around obviously ;) ), then the success rates sound impressive (and does not seem dependent on the "class" of establishment). If they cannot assist with a complimentary upgrade, they will usually give the $20 back. As you can tell, I have been doing some research into a trip to Vegas ;)

Re: Project WSOP 2007 - BELIEVE!!!!! I have made a provisional booking from 30th June - 6th July at the Gold Coast; next door to the Rio for £275 for 7 nights. It s a Coast Property - Barbary Coast, South Coast, etc. We just got back from a 4 night stay at the Barbary Coast and it was amazing, so I will recommend its sister hotel. For price and location it will be hard to beat that price.

Re: Project WSOP 2007 - BELIEVE!!!!! I stayed at the Stratosphere last year. While it's a bit away from the Rio etc, it's only 5 minutes walk from the monorail and its about as cheap as there is (certainly when booking last minute anyway).
