  1. I totally agree, it's an awful idea. Only 2 places to go up and the team that finishes 7th could possibly have one of them? And the way it works with the disadvantage to the team that finishes 2nd is ridiculous. If they are going to have it, it should be done so the 2nd place team is guaranteed to play the lowest placed winner from the 1st games, not set in stone that they place 4th or 7th. I'm very glad we're out of it!
  2. I think there will be a few goals tonight, and I can see Dagenham winning. So everyone should get their money on 1-0 Forest Green...
  3. For Tranmere to get promoted they will have to do something they haven't done all season, and that's beat one of the top 5 teams in the league. They have just 3 points out of 24 against those who came in the top five. I'll be backing Aldershot tomorrow night, and to qualify.
  4. I didn't go down there, but sounds like Maidstone could easily had 5 and Lincoln 10!
  5. Danny Cowley has confirmed today there will be changes for tomorrow night. Keeper Paul Farman and left back Sam Habergham are out for last two games. And the back ups for those have only played 1 trophy game each in the last 6 weeks and neither was great in either of those.
  6. Maidstone at 2/1 against us is a ridiculous price. We've got results despite the tiredness the last few games, and some of the players are definately in need of a rest. And I saw first hand on Saturday night that they weren't sat with their feet up preparing for yet another game! The job is done now, and I'm not sure how up for a trip all the way to Kent on a plastic pitch the Lincoln players are going to be. And that's before you even look at Maidstone current form. I'm shocked they're that big.
  7. I've never been happier to be wrong! It's ours to throw away now. I wouldn't fancy the play offs, especially psychologically having been top for pretty much the entire 2017, but after tonight you'd hope we don't throw this away.
  8. I really hope I'm wrong, but I think Tranmere at evens is a great price. They are in brilliant form, and even when they don't play great they get a massive slice of luck or late winner from somewhere. They must feel invincible at the moment. Forest Green just aren't at it, and I can't see Mark Cooper getting them up for anything at all.
  9. I can't say I'm feeling massively confident. We were poor on Tuesday at Boreham Wood, looked toothless, and one or two of the loan players looks like they didn't want to be there. We've got Harry Anderson back on loan from Peterborough for the rest of the season, which is a plus as he was a good player for us in the first half of the season. I'm hope he might spark a bit of life into our play going forward. Forest Green haven't impressed me at any point this season, and the fact that it's a massive game, and we've won almost all those we've had all season, so I'm hoping more than expecting tha
  10. Well the incident he mentioned was Jon Parkin flying in two footed, which thankfully he missed contact as if he did make contact there would have been one of the worst injuries I've ever seen on a football pitch. Both games we'd played them in the last month before today I'm baffled how he was still on the pitch. As for today, I'm so angry. The videos are there for everyone to see.
  11. Lincoln made 9 changes for the 1st leg against York on Tuesday night. And despite that we could have been 3 or 4 up at half time such was the dominance. Second half fair play to York, they came out for the first 30 minutes a different side, and although both goals had an element of luck, they could have had a couple more too. But Lincoln ended the game stronger and should have had a dead cert of a penalty, as well as having a few decent chances to level it up. The referee on Tuesday was extremely poor, and how York ended the game with 11 men, never mind just the 2 yellows they got, I have
  12. Yeah very pleased, and Tranmere losing was a bonus! Now we can enjoy Saturday!
  13. For me tomorrow night is the biggest night of the season so far for Lincoln's title hopes. It's a three horse race for the title now, and after tomorrow Lincoln and Tranmere could be level, or there could be a 6 point gap. Looking at Tranmere's upcoming fixtures, you can't really see where they are going to slip up anytime soon after the trip to Barrow is out of the way, so the pressure on Lincoln to win at Braintree before having 2 weeks without a League fixture is immense. Lincoln have won the last 10 meetings again Braintree, and Evens usually would definitely be getting some of my cas
  14. No, I assume Boreham Wood haven't agreed. Replay is the last thing we need, I'd rather us just kick it in our own net in injury time if needs must!
  15. We'll be making plenty of changes again at the weekend, but even with 6-7 changes in the Trophy so far we've looked good. I wouldn't tell you not to back us, but I wouldn't be taking it personally. We certainly won't be going there to draw with the horrendous amount of games we've now got to play in the next 2 months!
  16. Nah, no red cards, but as @Tiffy said, he gave the penalty away and got booked. And other than his header to set up their goal, was generally very poor!
  17. Glenn Murray didn't get sent off against Lincoln, he isn't suspended.
  18. Ha ha Lincoln are about all I know nowadays, out the loop with the darts and don't play that much now. Hope you're well!
  19. It's hard to know what Tuesday night will have took out of us, but another almost full ground will help. Put a gun to my head and I'll say we'll win, but how we cope after Tuesday, plus the fact that Dover seem to have our number and have won the last 3, I wouldn't be risking my money. The only bet I'd recommend is Sean Raggett at 33/1 first goalscorer, or 11/1 anytime goalscorer. Both with William Hill. He's got 6 goals from centre half already this season, and we signed him from Dover earlier in the season which they weren't too happy about. I'm sure he'd love a goal tonight...
  20. I'm a Lincoln fan. No we don't have a big squad, so leaving some key players at home as Cowley has said he's going to leave us very short. He hasn't said which players, but other than maybe 2 or 3 who haven't played quite as many games as the others, I can't see him risking many who will be starting against Ipswich on Tuesday, especially as there may be extra time too. Although looking at the weather, I'd be surprised if the game was even on.
  21. More for info than anything, but as Lincoln have 3 massive games in a short space of time after the weekend, they are making changes for the game at Gateshead. Will be mostly fringe or players who are cup tied for their FA Cup replay 3 days later, with a few youth team players also in the squad. Price for Gateshead has come in from 2/1 understandably, but 6/5 still might be slightly tempting for some I'm sure.
  22. Lincoln were excellent again last night. Yes North Ferriby aren't a great side at all, but Lincoln got off to an early start, and the red card was early but the incident was the penalty for the fourth goal, so the game was already over by that point. Two points regarding Lincoln. The first is that in all but one of their pre-season friendlies, they scored in the first 10 minutes. And again last night got 2 goals in the first 10 minutes. It's something that the Cowley brothers have mentioned they have drilled into the players to get off to fast starts, and is something that people may want
  23. Re: Mid week Non-League 3rd-5th November Lincoln sacked their manager Gary Simpson today, and have put director/coach Chris Moyses in charge (presumably/hopefully) temporarily, who's only management experience with with Lincoln Moorlands Railway in the Northern Counties League a few seasons ago. I wouldn't touch their game with Altrincham with anyones money.
