ColU_FC
Re: Punters Lounge World Tour of Poker I couldn't do York on 19th May but I'd seriously consider coming 'up north' for the Saturday night. PAULM03
Re: Punters Lounge World Tour of Poker I'd love to but the racemeet is the 18th and the nag is not going to be impressed with 2 weekends away when we have the nipper to look after. Definite no chance for me:sad Edit: missed the second page There was talk of staying in Leeds for the racemeet, maybe we could try and arrange something for there. Might be worth checking the casinos out before setting a date too as we were lucky to get this one.

slick mick
Re: Punters Lounge World Tour of Poker :loon Great News Just been on the phone with the manager at Bannatynes casino here in Newcastle and he's happy for us to have the pokerroom on Saturday 20th May. I've played there before and it's really nice with a capacity of 80. I'm looking at hotels now but I know there's a cheap one across the road from the casino so details on prices later. I need to firm up numbers as soon as possible so I can sort out if we can have dealers but it looks very promising.
DAC
Re: Punters Lounge World Tour of Poker I know there's a cheap one across the road from the casino so details on prices later. is that the premier travel lodge? I think it is and if so it's a cracking wee place to stay, clean and tidy with a nice little bar.

Had a quick look at some Airprts i could fly to "Ooop Norf" from Charles De Gaulle, so it looks possible and can someone post/PM the link to the details for the York meet so i can confirm there :ok Will go with the flow with regards the Saturday ;)

PAULM03
Re: Punters Lounge World Tour of Poker Just a thought - is there any reason why this can't be arranged for the Friday night, after the races? In the past it's been raceday followed by poker, and the only reason Sandown wasn't was because we couldn't find anywhere to play. I really want to come but haven't got a hope of getting 2 nights away, if it was all done on the Friday there'd be no problem at all. But I'd also like to play poker, it seems to make sense to get them both on the same day if possible. Then there's no need to choose. Its an hour on the train, which is £10 so theres plenty of time to get to newcastle and play , as the casinos are open all night, but i dunno what people would be like travelling after a day at the races...im kinda helping with the organisation at the mo, but i dont wanna make any decisions about this. Seems a lot more complicated than 1st thought. How do we sort this?

Seems a lot more complicated than 1st thought. How do we sort this? For the worcester meets we've had the day at the races then played poker close by to where we're staying, which has been about 1 hour from Worcester (Dudley or Birmingham). There are going to be people at the races who in all likelihood aren't going to be too fussed about the poker, but would still like a night out so we need to think about them too. The way to sort this IMO is to sort the races out first as the date and location are absolutely fixed, then work out what we're going to do with the poker. It might be that Newcastle on the saturday night is the only feasible option - and in that case it's my tough titty. But there might be an option that's suitable for everyone. In that case, as Paul Ross was stating that the prices for hotels in york that night were really high, this could help the situation if after the races, people who wanted to play poker and stay over night came up to newcastle and stayed here....cheaper hotels, 4 casinos to choose from, and cracking nightlife

rosco
Re: Punters Lounge World Tour of Poker Count me in too. Leeds would be a good option with being located near York, additionally to the hotels being a little cheaper. Will be up for either location. if you decide on the Leeds, I can help sort living so near, speak to the casino and hotels. Napoleans already have a rebuy but Gala could be ok.
