3.35 Southwell

Danish Duke looks to have a good chance having made debut on this surface last time out when 2nd behind the improving Tigers Home over this CD, first real good bit of form that and appeared to handle the surface well facing the kickback and travelling well. If backing that up could go well off the same mark.

Mambo Fever’s sole winner comes over this CD, she has run respectably most the summer until last time out which was below form. Off for 3 months and cheekpieces tried today on a return to this track not out of it if sparks a revival.

Munawiib was a good 4th last time out over this CD finishing well potentially looking in need of further and that may be a similar problem here again today. Has won here twice before.

Best Tamayuz has to be respected with this yard currently in good form and always do well here, not been in much form this summer but a return to surface may be key, may still be a tad high in the weights last win came off 65 running off 69.

Be Royale looks to be nap potential my only concern to stop it being a 5pt’er is the fact he is turned out just 3 days after an improved effort last time out at Chelmsford when rattling home from an unpromising position behind an improving and impressive sort. Runs off the same mark which is his last winning mark and has winning form around from a stable that does exceptionally well with its runners here, could prove hard to beat.

1pt win Be Royale 3/1 bet365

100 Newbury: Baby Shine 11/2 bet365/Coral

Decent mare at her best and has now dropped down to a mark of 129 (lowest since 2013).

Not disgraced last twice when 5th to Virak at Haydock and only 6 lengths behind Anay Turge at Sandown. That form gives her every chance here and the useful Amateur Gina Andrews rides.

2.45 Newbury - Double Shuffle @ 9/1 Boylesports

Only 5 and as a point to pointer expected to do better over fences. His two starts over fences have been two credible efforts behind Art Mauresque and More of That which have left him on a mark 4lbs below his hurdle mark. That's a generous mark I reckon and he looks a promising sort over fences.

Newb 3.15 - San Benedetto - win at 2/1 bog betvictor

Listed handicap hurdle

My selection represents the Nicholls yard and was an impressive winner last time at Wincanton

Has a 6lb penalty for that win but the assessor is putting him up 12lbs next week so he's well in on the figures. Goes well on soft ground and appears to handle any track.

6.10 Chelmsford: Class 6 Nursery, 1m 2f

Competitive affair and more open than the market suggests in my mind. The favourite has a big shout of an unchanged mark after an excellent performance lto but looks a skinny price nonetheless.

Goldenfield and Jassur both ran eye-catchingly in the same race last month, which looks strong form in my mind.

Goldenfield fared better, tracking the pace and just came up short. A 2lb hike in the mark is fair and he may improve again.

Jassur is more interesting though, given his big price tag. He set a suicidal pace the last time but was still there in the home straight; it was no surprise to see him fade badly eventually. The merit of the performance looks better than the bare result suggests

He won at Chelmsford over 10f before by a street and could easily have more to offer off his current mark, particularly with a different ride.

Jassur @ 10/1 Paddy Power

14:55 Taunton : Walter White @ 22/1 e/w thanks

Walter White......from Philip Hobbs yard the 5yo been off the track for over a year but came back in October this year at Exeter 2m 2f good when it fell 3 from home they followed that up here two weeks ago over today's distance where he finished 5th but lost 4th place in run in with signs that he is getting back to his best ,

He's been successful in two hurdle races at 2m 1f on good to firm and good ground, but last win was over two years ago, with those two runs and horse not getting much of a break could be worth a chance as its down in weights and runs off 107 down from 120 after his win two years ago when todays jockey Tom O'Brien was in saddle
