Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Its always worth waiting for squad news, but a couple of matches stand out here; Vaslui vs Inter - Inter took a strong squad to Split for there away leg in the previous round and I would expect something similar. If they did then a comprehensive victory seems likely. I'm pretty sure that they will want a good margin to take into the second leg, as that game comes before a match against Roma and I'm sure they would want to rest a few players with that game in mind. Given the size of the squad Inter have and the opportunity it gives Stramaccioni to blood some of the youngster that brought him success as a youth team manager, I expect that Inter will be wanting to have a good run in this competition and so reaching the group stages is important to ensure thats possible. Whilst I await squad news the 1.75 for an Inter win looks nice and it may be worth looking at the handicap market as well. Vaslui have had a stuttering start to their league campaign and were dumped out of the CL 5-2 on aggregate to Fenerbahce. Atromitos vs Newcastle - it would be good to hear Newcastle fans views on how seriously they will be taking this Europa League campaign, but similar to Inter I think they should have enough depth to give a good account of themselves even if a few players are rested. There are plenty of experienced players like Ryan Taylor, Gosling, Anita, Obertan, and Williamson etc that can come in and do well enough to at least be beating a team at the level of Atromitos. Also with the injury doubts upfront I would expect to see atleast one of Ba or Cisse starting in this first leg. Newcastle are currently at 2.25 to win this one.

Hi, -About Inter: they will miss key goalie Handanovic (the back-up is unexperienced Belec who has played only in serie B so far ). Inter won 3-0 in Split but ignominiously lost 0-2 at home in the return leg and Vaslui is much better than Hajduk. Last year Lazio didn't win there in Europa League. No value on away win at those odds to me. Inter is still a work in progress and very far from the European powerhouse they were during Mourinho's reign. -About Newcastle: at first sight juicy odds on Newcastle, a team traditionally very serious in European competitions. Then, I made some research on Atromitos, who got a surprise 3rd place in last year greek league. They lost 2 regular defenders but signed 5: Brazilian Chumbinho(9 goals@Levadiakos), veteran DF Tavlaridis, Aris regular DF Lazaridis, Finnish striker Kuqi (10 goals @Panionios) and DF Giannoulis is back after 1 year at Koln. On paper they look improved. The team is based on Greek players, they have a goalkeeper from Cameroon, a German midfielder, a Brazilian and a couple of Argentineans (but only one is a regular). New coach is well known Dusan Bajevic (he achived great success as AEK and Olympiakos coach). If Newcastle goes understrength/unmotivated they will have problems for sure. Everything depends on that.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 May be worth opposing Ath Bilbao in some form. Llorente & Martinez have been branded as traitors by Bielsa, and exluded from the squad. They conceded in both legs against Slaven Koprivnica in the last round, and now face HKJ. Also, they were 3-0 down at home to Real Betis at HT - have just pulled it back to 3-1 as I type. HKJ ain't great but did score away at Celtic in the CL. BTTS @2.3 with William Hill appeals, as does 2.0 HJK +2AH with Bet365. Will wait to see how the 2nd half plays out, but all does not appear right at Bilbao.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23

Alan Pardew has said Newcastle won't be taking many of the first 11 as they play away at Chelsea 48 hours later.
good information Gaz. A bit more detail here http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/european/alan-pardew-set-to-rest-star-newcastle-united-players-for-greece-europa-league-trip-8053914.html Looks like it will be pretty much 11 changes from the tottenham game. Newcastle have reasonable 2nd string players but it is never the same when players havnt played together before. Another major factor is it is going to be very hot 30 degrees even in the evening. The game kicks off at 8pm local time. I dont know much about Atromitos but to finish 4th in the Greek league they must be reasonable. They have a few players with caps for Greece and for the u21s and a current finnish international. They sold there top scorer from last season but have replaced him with a player from panninios.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 important info Red Star Belgrade vs Bordeaux Red Star lost their coach, Robert Prosinecki resigned a half hour ago and it will be a big blow for young team. In doing so home team will be without suspended Kasalica (key fw) and it seems that there is no real replacement for him. It is true during the game will be hot (about 30 degrees) and will be about 50 thousand crazy fans. But Bordeaux is a much better team that started well with two wins in two Ligue1 games. So I think @2.50 (Victor, Stan James, Marathon) for away win is a very nice value. Expect big odds falling, I believe it will be around evens on Thursday...

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Dnipro @3,2 ?! Are they kidding?! Dnipro is a class over Liberec, full of extra players for this level of Europe. They didn't do well last season as time was needed to click together. This season that time has came, they play better in their league which is trice stronger than the Czech one. Liberec is solid team, but not more than that. They lost to CFR Cluj at home, so I cannot see how they can beat Dnipro. Dnipro X2 @1,6 is a must, I will also try straight win for small amount of money. Another thing that I am sure is that my team Zvezda and our enemies Partizan don't have a chance to win. Years of stealling from the club, years of bad work in the youth squads, bad atmosphere and worse quality than Tromso and Bordeaux. One of them might play a draw, but no way they can beat these more serious teams. Bordeaux X2 @1,35 Tromso 1X @1,35 straight wins also very possible. I am also leaning towards Vaslui 1X since they will play with their 110% abilities and Inter as usual could produce a bad game at the start of the season. Also there is the second leg where they can fix things if they go wrong. Vaslui is a better team than Hajduk which beat Inter at Meazza. I don't know about Stuttgart, they should win, but Dynamo has some very dangerous players.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 I like the look of Molde at home to Heerenven. The Dutch side have lost their 3 main attacking outlets this summer in Assaidi (Liverpool) Luciano Narsingh (PSV) and Bas Dost (Wolfsburg). This type of quality that was at the club is hard to replace straight away and is already evidently sorely missed as they lie 3rd from bottom in the Eredivisie after losing to NEC and drawing with Feyenoord. They did qualify by defeating Dinamo Bucharest in the last round however were defeted 1-0 in Romania. Molde are the current holders of the Elitseran and currently sit 2nd in this years edition. Solsjkaer is a highly rated manager and has been linked with jobs across europe of late. His side have lost once at home out of 9 so far winning the other 8. They were unlucky to go out against Basel losing 2-1 on aggregate with the winning goal for the opposition coming in the last 15 minutes. Molde to Win - 2.3 BetVictor

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 AZ is next to Elm, Holman and Poulsen (all key players), sold and Moisander (key df) to Ajax today. Although they are a solid team, here are waiting for a quality "foreign legion" (Samba, Boussoufa, Etoo) led by experienced coach Hiddink, who knows Dutch football. AZ played well in the first two rounds, but it seems Anzhi are better prepared because they already played five league rounds and four EL games (4 wins without conceded goal). Heerenveen is terribly weakened from last season. They lost their first Eredivisie match after goals from set pieces, as they looked a lot better in the second match when they won a point in a difficult away game in Rotterdam. I really know little about the Norwegians, except for the fact that their coach was good striker, the same goes for Heerenveen. PSV is two classes above Zeta, but they will certainly rest some key players. In fact, Advocaat has 7 or 8 players who played three games in 10 days, so waiting for team news before placing bets. Feyenoord is another team that is weaker than last season, but they will have great support from the fans out there, that's for sure. Unfortunately I have no idea what kind of situation is in the Czech club. Twente's (with PSV) only one who looks a little better than last season. They have seven wins and draw so far, with only two conceded goals. Bursa have played only three matches (even lost in Finland) and it can be a problem for them. That was only briefly about Dutch clubs, and thus without team news I thought Anzhi -1AH (@2.80) and Twente (@2.55) at Pinnacle might have value.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Well... Moscow Dynamo is this years Russian premiere league ''surprise''.... in bad meaning of course. There could very well be written pages about their problems, starting with pre-season problems between the players and the managing board and ending with the situation where they are now. Nevertheless, situation with the club right now is in total **** and I don't see that it willl change anytime soon. They signed last week Petrescu as the head coach (which was good signing btw) and a lot of people preddicted that Dynamo will be finally out of the funk but in reality it looks like it will take a lot more than Petrescu to change things here. He is a good coach and nice motivator but the problem with this team is not only in players heads but also at their physical condition. I haven't seen any other team in Premier league in such badly physical shape like Dynamo, and it's not only my opinion but also other people who are close to russian football league. In the first 4 games they were simply ''static'' on the field.... there was no movement without the ball , there was no fighting spirit. In the last game against Terek they looked a bit better, but also only for the 50-60 minutes, after that they were just out of the gas. And what shocked me the most is that when they were losing in the last minutes of the game, there were actually no urgency signs from the players and they looked like everything is ok, and another loss is a normal thing for them. Dmitrij Hohlov (who was replacement for the head coach until Petrescu can offically start the job) was short and precise after this game: ''Team has problems. Very big problems. Phychological, emotional, I don't know how to even call them'' Now they have only few days to relax as they have to play against Shtuttgart away on Wednesday. With all due respect to Petrsescu ability's to manage the team, I doubt that he will be able to completely makeover this team in 3 days. Odds on Shtuttgart after Sundays game dropped rapidly and aren't so tasty anymore. Anyway Shtuttgart -0.75 @ 1.75 Pinnacle would be my choice here. P.S. What worries me a bit, is that Dynamo is at the lowest point right now... it couldn't get any worse for them, so at some point they will start to play better.... just hopefully not this time

My first post on this forums, and I've chosen this pick. I am big fan of Zvezda, spent most of my life on north stand of stadium, nearly 20 years now. What is currently happening with club is just heartbreaking. Prosinecki left the club with tears in his eyes, and left most of the supporters with tears in theirs. Atmosphere amongst fans is depressive, around the club same. After so much happening in club, we are yet to see president Lukic to stand in front of camera and say few words, why is this happening. Evandro, most influential midfielder in team, left the team today, and Zvezda have only 3 (three) midfielders available, Mijailovic (18years, plays more in defense), Milivojevic (19years, also more defensive) and Dimitrijevic (27years, also defensive). Most of them play safely, without any creativity. Kasalicas absence is real blow, as he was first option as the forward. Other attackers in team are Milunovic (19years) who have been playing as left winger, as incompetent chairman failed to buy one during the transfer period, Asamoah (19years) and Babalj (19years) who is doubtful to have paperwork done for this game. There is no substitutes for a midfielders, except few youngsters that could make a debut. New coach is Jankovic, current U21 national team coach. Although he already had been coach, still don't know what to expect from him. Anyway, currently, away win on Bordeaux is 2 at local bookeys, and I wont miss it. I will go to the stadium, my whole heart will beat for victory, but loss is just inevitable against such a class team like Bordeaux.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 What an odd for Genk to win @ 3.15 :loon I saw 1 match of Luzern and they were quite awfull. They are penultimate in the Swiss competition with 3/18 I feel Genk is getting better better, so 3.15 is way to high Genk to win @ 3.15 with Betfair medium stakes [TABLE=class: result-item]

According to the Liverpool Echo, the following haven't travelled in the Liverpool squad: Jose Enrique Steven Gerrard Martin Skrtel Luis Suarez Glen Johson Given the performance Liverpool served up away at Gomel, where they could and should of been beaten, then the 1.5 on them winning in Edinburgh makes no appeal. Also, when they did take the lead away at Gomel, they were more than content to sit on that. So Hearts +1.25 AH @1.8 could be a decent play.

Atromitos v Newcastle under 2.5 goals @ 1.66 - StanJames. Hearts v liverpool under 2.5 goals @ 1.8 - StanJames. Motherwell v levante @ 2 - StanJames. Both Liverpool and Newcastle are set to make changes. As this is a two legged affair I would expect both to be able to get past hearts and atromitos respectively across the two ties. (although I think the odds on Liverpool are stupidly short, given the changes being made, and the fact they are playing away). I think Liverpool will offer very little going forward, and we saw how poor they were In front of goal at the weekend. Suarez not taking part just weakens them further for me, so I think under Rodgers they will hold about 60% + possession, and look to take a slender lead back to anfield, or a draw. Atromitos have only gone over in three home games last season, two of which only finished 2-1. They are very much an under'ish side. Newcastle will go to Greece resting several key players, and there may be about three players making their debuts. Because of the changes in personnel, and the fact atromitos are a fairly tight side, I fancy this to go under 2.5 goals. Newcastle will be happy to get them back home, where they should be able to easily dispose of them. Levante - I just think this is a step too far for well. Scottish sides are notoriously poor in Europe anyway, and I don't think they will be able to offer too much against a technical side from Spain. Levante, although they've lost a couple of players, are probably a rising Spanish side. And as panathinaikos took Motherwell apart in the champions league qualifiers, I don't expect much from the home side.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Atromitos-Newcastle over 2 @1.86 4/10 pinnacle Atromitos will have to give all they have in their home tie as I cannot see them getting anything our of Newcastle's home stadium. A 0-0 or 1-1 won't help them much. Newcastle left Coloccini, Tiote, Ba, Shola Ameobi, Ferguson and Vuckic at home. Here is their travelling squad: Tim Krul Steve Harper James Perch Davide Santon Danny Simpson James Tavernier Ryan Taylor Steven Taylor Mike Williamson Romain Amalfitano Vurnon Anita Gael Bigirimana Yohan Cabaye Dan Gosling Jonas Gutierrez Sylvain Marveaux Gabriel Obertan Papiss Cisse Adam Campbell Looks good to me. They will probably score at least once. Minimum 1-1 for me here which would result in a void. So a small-medium for me on over 2.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 As I expected the Inter squad is a strong one, they have a couple of new injuries with Chivu and Handanovic out but its only really the GK thats a loss. Goalkeepers: 12 Castellazzi, 27 Belec, 32 Cincilla; Defenders: 4 Zanetti, 6 Silvestre, 13 Maicon, 23 Ranocchia, 25 Samuel, 40 Juan Jesus, 42 Jonathan, 44 Bianchetti, 55 Nagatomo; Midfielders: 10 Sneijder, 14 Guarin, 16 Mudingayi, 19 Cambiasso; Forwards: 7 Coutinho, 8 Palacio, 22 Milito, 88 Livaja. From this I would expect a line up similar to this; Castellazzi, Zannetti or Maicon - Samuel - Silvestre or Ranocchia - Nagatomo Guarin - Cambiasso - Mudingayi or Zannetti Sneijder Palacio - Milito That will be pretty similar to the one that won 3-0 in Split, and would give them a couple of decent options on the bench if things weren't going there way. However I don't expect that to happen, Inter I feel will do a professional job here, get as comfortable of a scoreline as possible which will give them a little bit of lee-way to rotate in the second leg, prior to that Roma game. Vaslui, were well beaten at home (4-1) to Fenerbache in the return leg of there Champions League tie, and that result combined with a sluggish start to the season for them doesn't suggest that they'll be able to match Inter in this one. Inter to win 1.80 at Stan James ( 4.5 / 10 units)

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Lazio caught my eye straight away, I was always going to be interested in whoever Mura played in this round. I watched both of Mura's games against Arsenal Kyiv and they were absolutely sh*t. They only went through because of of Arsenal fielding an illegible player in the first leg so the game was awarded as 3-0 to Mura despite Arsenal winning 3-0. In the 2nd leg Arsenal went down to 10 men for the majority of the game but still battered Mura, somehow only winning 2-0 (and therefore Mura qualifying) I fancy Lazio to clear the -1 handicap, maybe more. I would like to see the team news before piling on though. 4/6 readily available for -1.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Players Lazio will use in this match (from their official site): Portieri: Marchetti, Bizzarri, Berardi; Difensori: Biava, Cavanda, Dias, Konko, Scaloni; Centrocampisti: Cana, Ledesma, Onazi, Mauri, Candreva, Lulic, Hernanes; Attaccanti: Floccari, Kozak, Rocchi, Zarate, Klose. Looks like very strong squad. Anyone with more knowledge about Lazio would be welcome. Mura has many financial problems and aren't capable of UEFA group competition. They have lost last league match at home 1:3 against very low quality team. They will try to play 11 man in front of goal and only real question is if Lazio is capable to end at least 1 goal. Or will they be motivated to score in away match.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Vaslui - Inter Pick: Inter (-0.5) Stake: 7/10 Odds: 1.76 Bookmaker: PINNACLE This is one of my favourite bet for Europe League play-offs. I watched Vaslui 2 games in CL qualification against Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce played really bad and won 4-1 on Vaslui's pitch. Their attack, defence, midfield are not good enough to compete with Inter. There is really a huge gap between these two teams. Maybe Inter's last season is not good enough. However, a lost against a team like Vaslui will be very surprised for me. I expect a away win and at home a relax game for Inter. Bursaspor - Twente Pick: Twente (+0) Result: Pending Stake: 4/10 Odds: 1.90 Bookmaker: PINNACLE Bursaspor has average players I think. The squad is maybe fine for the Turkish League but in Europe things are changed. I don't really trust Bursaspor's attack power. They are limited. It is hard to score for them to good teams. On the other hand, Twente's offence is good enough to push Bursaspor's defence. Despite, lack of good attacking player Luuk De Jong Twente find another ways and players to score. The odds for away team are tempting. In my opinion, it should be tried. Trabzon - Videoton Pick: Trabzon (-1) Result: Pending Stake: 5/10 Odds: 1.67 Bookmaker: PINNACLE Trabzonspor lost its best striker Burak Yılmaz (32 goal last season). It is a big miss but this rival is poor for Trabzonspor. Henrique, Vittek, Alanzinho, Volkan Sen, Colman are quality players for offence power to beat the Videoton. Videoton's victories against Gent is look good but Gent is not an equal team with Trabzonspor. They lost their good players and a new team. At home Trabzon must easily win this match with their hot supporters.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 CL has been very poor in terms of betting opportunities this week, but in contrast, League Europe looks very tempting and exciting. I agree with some of the suggestions, so I won't repeat them, and just share my other picks for today: 1. Harts - Liverpool Liverpool Goals: Under 1.5 @ 2.00 (bet365) Liverpool are resting they key players in view of the derby with City. Even with all their star-players, Liverpool would have difficulties scoring twice against the fighting Scotsmen. The team has been a disaster in both their official away games - vs. Gomel and WBA. I am confident that Liverpool will be more than happy to score once and won't discard even a goal-less draw. Hearts will also be quite happy not conceding and I don't expect them to open up a lot. 2. Anji - AZ Anzie Clean Sheet @ 2.62 (Bet365) Unbelievable odds against a team which did not concede in any of their four European games so far and a team which is famous for playing very tight at home and achieving many home clean sheets in Russian premier league. I agree that AZ are dangerous and they have quality in the attack, but 2.62 is ridiculously high. There's at least 50% chance that Anzie do not concede (and I think it is actually higher chance) and 2.62 is not representative. 3. PAOK - Rapid PAOK @ 1.72 I know that it is a bit tricky because the odds are below evens and PAOK, unlike Rapid, haven't started their league yet. But I feel that the Greeks are very strong favorite here, at least stronger than 1.72 suggests. PAOK rarely gets the chance to try for CL, but they play regularly and successfully in EL. They are particularly famous for their home performance at their fortress - Toumba Stadium, in front of their fanatic crowd. They smashed with ease last round strong Israeli Bnei Jehuda - a team which in my opinion is not weaker than Rapid. The weather is going to be very hot in Solun and this won't favor the Austrians. Rapid, as most Austrian teams in recent years, are very vulnerable in Europe and rarely impress. Last round they were beaten away by very mediocre Serbian Vojvodina by 2:0. PAOK is several classes above Vojvodina in terms of quality, finance, league, euro experience and fans. I really see Rapid losing by several goal margin here, but think 1.72 for clear PAOK's win is good enough. 4. Vaslui - Inter Vaslui or Draw @ 2.00 I would disagree with the opinion of the fellow-punter above. I see no point of comparison between this game and the one in Split against Hajduk. Vaslui is currently stronger team than Hajduk and has much better European record. I don't think also that Inter were pushing very much in Split for the victory, they just outsmarted their unexperienced opposition. I would definitely not support an Italian team like Inter to win a first-leg away game in preliminary round of second-class tournament, especially given that Inter had just played two matches. It is very likely that Inter won't put much effort, be happy with the draw, and have some motivational issues. On the other hand, for Vaslui this is going to be a BIG game and I am confident that their motivation will be sky-high. The team is good quality and the score in the second-leg against Fenerbahce is a little misleading. Vaslui also knows how to defend well, especially at home, as is not new to playing against such big names. 5. AIK - CSKA Moscow Goal/Goal @ 2.00 This bet is based mainly on my observation of CSKA. They score a lot and I am confident they won't miss to nick at least one goal in Sweden. But on the other hand, their defense has been a real mess this summer. They concede a lot and make plenty of easy and uncalled for mistakes. My worry here is that AIK tend to play tight and "under" at home. However, I don't see them withholding clean-sheet against the powerful Moscow attack. Hence, they will have to attack themselves in front of their own fans, I see them manage to exploit CSKA's defensive weaknesses. 6. Dinamo Bucuresti - Metalist Kharkiv Metalist @ 2.50 I am not so confident about this one, but I fancy the Ukrainians to steal the victory at this attractive price. I like the Ukrainian league and I have observed that Metalist, while being a bit behind dominant Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar, are probably the team which plays the most attractive football in the whole league. Their core is composed of Brazilian players and they really play some eye-catching, fast and very technical football. Especially 24-year old Brazilian attacker Taison who is simply incredible player, who I am confident will join some of the big European teams very soon. They have also other very gifted players who know how to put a game in their control - Clayton, Cristaldo, Willian, experienced Vorobey etc. Metalist were incredible last year in Europa League. And pay attention - they were simply rocking in their away games: 4:1 at Malmo, 4:0 at Sochaux, 4:0 at Salzburg, 2:1 at Olympiacos... - a very impressive list of scores. Metalist also performs very well away in their local league. They tend to be enjoying a lot playing with counter-attacks in open spaces, which away games often allow them. I admit I don't know much about Dinamo, but they definitely are on down-ward trend in the last years. They've done nothing special in Europe and now they are not quite competitive even in their local league where they have been consistently lagging behind teams like Cluj, Vaslui and their arch-rival Steaua. 7. Atletik Bilbao - HJK HJK +2 (Asian) @ 1.925 and HJK to score @ 2.10 Bilbao have been terrible against poor Slaven Koprivnica. They conceded goals in both games, lost the away tie and let their mid-table Croatian opponent have too many good scoring chances. It is clear that some negative processes are taking place in the Basque team. There are both some motivational issues and personal problems in the dressing room. A team of this class and quality cannot play like that against Slaven. They have also been terrible against Betis. Of course, there is always a chance that they might bounce back and crush HJK, but i think it is less likely. I wathced HJK in Glasgow and liked the brave Finns. They are good and tight in defense, and they did not hesitate to attack every time they could. They play very simple but efficient football. They pass quick and try to reach the opponents penalty area with few qiuick passes. HJK are, as expected, dangerous with headers and from set-pieces. 8. Slask - Hannover Hannover -1 (Asian) @ 2.05 Slask is simply a very poor Polish side who were extremely lucky to win the championship last season. They have absolutely nothing to offer and were easily humiliated in almost all their European games this summer. They only managed to eliminate very poor outsiders from Montenegran Buducnost, but they lost against them at home. Actually, Slask lost all three of their home European games this summer, two of which by more than one goal margin. Hannover is a class above the Poles, there's no doubt about it. My only worry is about their lack of competitive football and possible motivational issues they might face. But in the end, I think they will get the victory in Wroclaw even without giving their best effort.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Newcastle boss Alan Pardew will be without a series of key players for the match in Greece. France international Hatem Ben Arfa is suspended after being sent off in his final European game for Marseille in March 2010, while Fabricio Coloccini, Cheick Tiote, Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi all stayed behind with minor injuries, although they are expected to be fit for Saturday's Barclays Premier League trip to Chelsea.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Just a word on Lazio, the starting line up is likely to be a reasonably attacking 4-3-3 for tonights match, something that the new manager Petkovic has been working on in pre season. Klose should start, flanked by Mauri and apparently Candreva. The also have the creative Hernandes and the set piece ablity of Ledesma likely to start in midfield. Whilst i'm not convinced that Candreva should be playing as wide as seems likely, its still a good bunch of players and should they click together then goals will come. The only problem is that so far in pre-season, in all but the last friendly game vs Malmo they have struggled to score when faced with better quality opposition. They haven't scored (and lost) against Siena, Torino, Galatasary or Getafe. Its hard to gage that much from friendly matches, but it does seem that things are understandably still a work in progress under the new manager, and for me at these odds its not worth taking the risk, especially on the handicap. I think there are better options in other matches tonight. Defensivly i've never rated Lazio either, and whilst i'm not sure Mura will test them that much, the likes of Dias do have mistakes in them, and on top of this we are likely to see a couple of youngsters starting. Cavanda at left back will make only his 5th appearance for the club and the midfielder Onazi likely to make his starting debut.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Slask Wroclaw - Hannover 96 The situation at Slask hasn't changed by much since I last wrote about them - when they were competing with Helsingborgs in CL qualifiers http://forum.punterslounge.com/threads/131911-Third-qualifying-round-2nd-leg-gt-7-8-August they lost 3-0 at home and 3-1 away, and were lucky not to concede more in the latter game This time they face Hannover 96, a solid German team maybe lacking individual stars, but presenting a very good football. Hannover arrived in Wroclaw nearly at their full strength - he only doubt is Mame Diouf, and apart from that head coach Mirko Slomka can use all of his players. Yesterday a press conference was held and the visitors' coach praised the home side, but I guess that was just courtesy. In fact - and that is being written in German media - they came here to settle the tie in the first leg. As for the home side - there are rumours that the team is playing against its coach, Orest Lenczyk, whom they want out of the club. Forward Cristian Diaz was banned from the team for insulting the coach in a dressing room after one of the games, and in front of other players. Last weeknd Slask played against a make-shift Widzew Lodz team (that lost most of their regular players in the summer due to financial issues), and still lost with a 2-1 scoreline. A scorer on that day for Widzew was Sebastian Dudek, a former Slask midfielder, who stated that he wasn't respected at Slask by the head coach. And that may be the problem there, and that is why Slask is performing so poorly now - it is obvious that football skills are key to win, but psychological aspects and morale also play their role. And the truth is that Slask lacks both at the moment. The other factor is the home ground - brand new football venue built for Euro2012 purpose, where Slask moved from their old stadium in the autumn last year. But somehow they struggle there - I have no time to check the stats but they are performing much worse at the new stadium, than they did on the old one. So home advantage is questionable here - vide Slask results in CL qualification this year (0-1 against Podgorica, 0-3 against Helsingborg) I'll be backing Hannover strongly here. Hannover (-1ah) @ 1.93 (took earlier in the week for 2.15) 10 pts Hannover to score >2.5 goals @3.4 10 pts Hannover to score >3.5 goals @8 3pts Hannover to score >4.5 goals @19 0.5 pts all at bet365

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Some great posts above, need time to do my little research. So far I only took with a small stake Ekranas + 1,5 AH at 1,90 with bet365...The Romanians on a good day can destroy a team a class below, but I expect a tough and tight game in Estonia...The odds for Steaua - 1,5 AH were the same, but I also expect the favourites to underestimate Ekranas slightly in the first leg - so typical with this kind of clashes...

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Slask Wroclaw - Hannover Over2.5 @1.93 SBO Love the bet and the odds here. We all know that Hannover is a great team especially at home is if Slask doesnt take a win today they are almost done already after first game. So they cant be defensive, simply cant no matter who much respect they have for opponents. Its not an issue here who is fav and very likely winner of the duel but I doubt Slask will attemp the game just not to loose to high. They are poor champion, I know that, form is very low but they cant let go just like that. Yet their defensive line is a pure joke. Seriously I cant believe how this formation can be settled with such low quality players. Pawelec imo is a number 1 for me misunderstanding, I would not use this guy even in 1st division team. Kowalczyk was just a sub last season in Zaglebie Lubin. Grodziki was ok in Ruch but there was specific climate, I dont think he will perform well in Slask. Just in Jodlowiec I can have some hope but only when gets his form back. Socha, Spahic, Mraz, this is just terrible formation. Hannover might not even want to score to many but they will create chances and will score some. Slask has to score on their own, they will approach the game very motivated, imo even better than Hannover as I believe they understand this duel is their last appereance in euro cups. Hannover has Schalke game ahead and 2nd leg at home, not sure they would want to win to high. Definitely prefer the over. Great price, definitely more appealing to me that away win. Will go myself with Over3.5 as well.

Re: Europa League Qualifying > August 22-23 Huge gulf in class between Celtic and Motherwell, Celtic playing teams in my opinion weaker than Levante (helsinki and helsingburg) and struggled to get a flattering 2-0 win away on tuesday. Levante play in a far superior league to the SPL and should have a lot more class than Motherwell. Was expecting a price of about 1/2 for Levante, so anything @ evens or above is huge value. Like panathanaikos took motherwell apart levante should do the same and i expect a comfortable win. No need to be greedy with handicaps with a great price for the away win. So Motherwell @ 10/11 (better available) 10/10 Might take Liverpool aswell as a double, should also have to much quality for hearts. No other reasoning than big gulf in class between the 2 leagues again @4/9 w/ Ladbrokes :cigar
