Sky Bet League 1 > January 24th & 25th
AHughes replied to Aidymac's topic in Championship Predictions
Re: Sky Bet League 1 > January 24th & 25th Notts County look big at 11/5. Grealish and McGregor are back after returning to the club on loan spells. They have an outstanding understanding and Notts seem to play their best when both are on the pitch. 5 games unbeaten at home against a patchy Walsall side. -

Re: Sky Bet League 1 > October 4th & 5th Coventry at 23/20 at Stevenage with PP is one of the best value I have seen so far this season. Stevenage are awful conceding 10 goals in 3 games and Coventry have plenty of firepower in Leon Clarke and Calum Wilson should have well enough to overcome them

Arsenal v Stoke City > Sunday September 22nd

Re: Arsenal v Stoke City > Sunday September 22nd Mike Dean takes charge of this one. Arsenal have a 9% win percentage when he is officiating their games. There have also been 4 sendings off in Arsenal games refereed by Dean. Sending Off - 9/2 William Hill -
Re: League 1 > 10th - 11th August Putting this one up early Gillingham to beat Wolves - 4/1 Various I have just watched Wolves play Morecambe tonight. They have yet again failed to score and hit the target 3 times, against Preston they failed to hit the target in the 2nd half. Something is still not right at Molineaux it seems even though they seem to have a good squad. A lot is being relied upon a young midfield at the moment with them expected to create for the strikers and they just are not doing that at the moment resulting in long balls being played from the back. Gillingham played well in parts tonight despite losing 2-0 to Bristol City. Adebayo Akinfenwa missed numerous chances for his side to get them back in the game which in the end cost them dearly. Gillingham had a excellent away record last season in League 2 with them really excelling away from home as they often struggled infront of their own fans at times. They could count themselves unlucky to lose 1-0 against Colchester on opening day after conceding a 89th minute goal after Danny Kedwell had earlier hit the crossbar.

Re: UEFA championship U21 Spain u21 to win to nil - 7/4 Betway Spain have only conceded 1 goal in 9 games. That is an impressive record and they have a solid back 4 tonight with Bartra, Montoya, Alberto Moreno and Inigo Martinez with the latter really impressing for Real Sociedad this season. Russia are without Alan Dzagoev who is on senior duty and he will be a big miss for them as he is the best player in the squad easily, scoring 4 goals at Euro 2012.

Re: BBOTD Sat 1st June Van Percy Musselburgh 3.30 7/2 BetVictor Won last Saturday by a nose over 1m 3f to Blue Wave who also runs in the race. Was really impressive in the last furlong of that race as was denied a clear run for most of the race as the jockey could not get the horse out of conjestion and when she did it came on really strong in the last furlong. David Probert takes the reigns today instead and I expect it to well in a similar race to what it ran last week.

Re: Championship 2013/14 > Winner Bolton look a good price. Had a great end to the season and Dougie Freedman will want to build on that momentum. If they keep hold of players such as Lee and Holden they should be up there. They have been unlucky with injuries in the past 2 seasons and if they sign a recognised goalscorer I cant see why their price shouldn't be taken on.

Re: Next Everton Manager The market is all over the place. There seems to be so many In the know's on the subject with rumours going round everywhere. I also heard the Pereira rumour and that the job is his if he wants it and if he doesn't then Alan Stubbs (reserve manager) will take the realms. The market is crazy at the moment though with so many people seeming to think that they know something.

Re: Antepost > Championship 2013/14 > Winner Derby County look a decent enough shout at them odds if they can build from last season. If they can keep hold of and develop Will Hughes, Mason Bennett and Jeff Hendrick they have 3 very good youngsters there to build round. They have signed Chris Martin from Norwich and need to improve in that striking department as the defence is very solid. Well worth a look at them odds

Antepost > Premier League Relegation
AHughes replied to Aidymac's topic in Premier League Predictions
Re: Antepost > Premier League Relegation Agree with the early shouts for Fulham. After losing Dempsey and Dembele to Tottenham at the start of the 2012/13 season they looked really light in the midfield with not enough quality. Money is drying up with Al Fayed not as willing to put his hand in his pocket. They are an very ageing side with the likes of Schwarzer, Riise, Hangeland, Hughes, Duff, Karagounis and Berbatov all getting on they could really struggle if they do not inject some youth and pace into their side. Schwarzer really needs replacing this season as his form has dipped and he is really getting on now. Riise has not been as good as he was in his Liverpool days, struggling at times and yet to hit the net in the white of Fulham. Kieran Richardson proved to be a poor signing also with him not really impressing either since signing. Hangeland is not the player he was 2 seasons ago when linked with Arsenal and looks really slow and sluggish now with his partners in defence Hughes/Senderos not really that good either. Sascha Riether is however a good player and can be seen as possibly the best player in the defence. I really think that if they do not find an adequete replacement soon in central midfield they will really struggle as Karagounis is 35 and was seen as a short stop gap. Sidwell is not the player he promised to be in his early days at Reading, Enoh was on loan and struggled to make an impact anyway. As for the widemen, Kacaniklic did do well in parts of the season but was inconsistant and loaned out in the end during the season. Damien Duff had a decent enough season but for how long can he compete at this level now for his age? Dejagah was only on loan and didn't make any impact what so ever. Obviously Fulham are best in attack with Dimitar Berbatov and the forefront and Bryan Ruiz behind him. However, Berbatov has been incosistant at times this season and has looked lazy in games with an attitude. Ruiz in my eyes in not the player I thought he would be for Fulham as he has not hit the heights expected but has still performed to a decent level. Petric hit the ground running but the Bulgarian is now seen as back up and age is not on his side either with Rodallega eating up a bit wage packet with mediocre performances. And we have seen before with Yakubu at Blackburn and Johnson at Crystal Palace that just having a good goalscorer is not enough to keep you up. Fulham have been in decline since the Europa League Final in my eyes. Yes they have signed Derek Boateng already for next season and we will see how he does but Fulham have always had a notoriously poor away form in the Premier League and that will catch up with you eventually. They do not have enough pace and and freshness to really trouble teams from what I can see at the moment and I can really see them being down there. -
Re: BBOTD > Monday 20th May 5 10 Redcar Correggio 7/2 Remains a maiden despite winning last time out due to being demoted to 2nd place. The horse that won that race runs in the previous one before that - Toms Anna, so that could give us a good insight into what will happen with Correggio in this one. The extra furlong should help him in this one as he kept on well in his previous run and probably would of won had it been a furlong more which it is today. It is also trainer Nicky Hammond's only horse of the day so he will be certainly hoping that it can put in a decent performance here in what looks like a weak maiden which should not need much to win.
