Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 Derry City vs Bohemians 3-1-6 for Derry at home and for Bohs away so far, the Dubliners still have a three point lead. The Candystripes are more rested, but Gypsies are playing solid lately. Both sides have some absences, but several experienced starters returning to home team. Odds are set correctly, Derry is a slight favorite but I see a cautious play in the first half. 0:0 ht @2.50 Paddy Power low stake ------------- St Patricks Athletic vs Bray Wanderers The Saints are again turning to LoI games after the completed the Euro adventure. They won tough away game against Cork four days ago and and this is the new must-win game for them. Pats will have the support of fans and the opponent is weaker this time. Yes, the Seagulls have no problem with absences but obviously are in bad shape recently. Pats -1 @2.20 Bet365 low stake ------------- UCD vs Cork City The Students will once again be without the assistance of a few important players. Yet they will go to win, to be moved away from the bottom. Cork played a draw half of the games so far. Statistics suggests a low-scoring match here, but I expect offensive game from both sides. It's difficult to predict... ------------- Drogheda United vs Shamrock Rovers Shamrock haven't lost against Drogs in the last 19 mutual encounters. Both teams are in good shape, but it should be borne in mind that home side has a dream season. While this is a must win situation for the Hoops, I keep myself away from this match which will be on TV and which is the most interesting this round. ------------- Shelbourne vs Sligo Rovers This will be the fourth game for the leaders in the last two weeks. On the other hand, Shels have lost confidence in the previous round when they lost against last-placed team at home. Home team has no absences, while the guests arrive without long-injured top scorer, Danny North. This means there won't be easy task for Sligo at Tolka Park.

I think this is a great shout both teams will be very cautious and tight, im gonna go with the half time to be a draw @ 10/11 to be safer , large enough stake... The LOI lately is very tight in the first halfs recently, very few goals and plenty of stale-mates , Sligo are a second half team ive been to a few of their games this year and they look like a different team each second half with most of their goals coming the second half. also drogs shams fixture is a crunch game for both teams, they both will be extremely cautious and i feel this will be a cert half time draw 0-0 .. Saying that I think this is a cracking bet TREBLE Drogheda v Shams - Half time result DRAW @ 11/10 Shels v Sligo - Half time result DRAW @ 11/10 Derry v Bohs - Half time result DRAW @10/11 The treble pays 8.42 First half bets can be dodgey any dodgey goal in the 3 games cud ruin it so ill be just placing small amount on this treble

Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 I like your pick on the Derry -v- Bohs game too McNasara. Derry is a tough place for away teams to travel, while Derry are not so clinical up front anymore. I'm going with a UCD +0.5AH myself tonight. Available at around 1.8 odds in places, I believe UCD will play with confidence tonight after their away victory against Shelbourne last week. Cork are not very clinical up front either, and they have struggled to win games this season both home and away.

Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 Truly strange things are happening there recently... again both miss for me. Looks like I'm in a crisis after a couple of truly excellent rounds (during the Euro). Ever since I got interested in the Dutch Eredivisie, my success has been limited here. :$

Ever since I got interested in the Dutch Eredivisie' date=' my success has been limited here. :$[/quote'] With regard to the Derry -v- Bohs game, it took a goalkeeping error from a corner for Derry to score the first goal in the first half. So, don't be too hard on yourself - it could easily have won, had the keeper not messed up the corner. :ok

Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 Very boldly this time - taking the maximum stake for the first time this season, or going up or fall... Cork City vs Drogheda United Both teams have had disappointing defeats on Friday, and will be very motivated tonight. Regular defenders Dunleavy (Cork) and Prendergast (Drogheda) are out for this meeting. It is in favor of my opinion that game will be open at Turner’s Cross, also expect return of some offensive players in both teams after not playing the last game and odds are nice. over 2,5 @1.93 Pinnacle medium stake Dundalk vs St Patricks Athletic This will be the first game for Dundalk in the last 10 days, while the Saints have already played two matches in that period. Both teams are in a must win situation and will be without important defenders Burns (Dundalk) and Brown (Pats). Although it is expected return of Pats important midfielders (Russell and Forrester) the Lilywhites are more rested and encouraging with good news off the pitch. over 2 @1.63 Pinnacle max stake

Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 Bray Wanderers vs Derry City Both teams were successful on Friday. It should be noted that the Candystripes won their last three visits to Bray. The Seagulls have more problems before this match since topscorer Byrne is suspended and several other players are doubtful. I give a better chance for away side, but a draw is also possible, so... Derry DNB @1.62 bet365 high stake Sligo Rovers vs UCD Leader against yesterday's bottom side. I normally don't like games like that, not even this time I can't find value. Bohemians vs Shelbourne North Dublin derby (the oldest in LoI) at Dalymount Park between rivals who are in poor form recently. Really unpredictable for me.

Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 I think there is value in Bohemians DNB/+0AH tonight. Available @ 1.87 odds as a +0AH option with pinnacle. Available as 1.84 odds as a DNB option with Betfair. Bohemians play good football, and are better organised than Shels in my opinion. They have grown an awful lot under Callaghan, considering they are a young team, and have the better form going into this game. They also rested Owen Heary and Keith Ward on Friday, while Karl Moore is back from suspension. All are keey players. Dave Scully is out suspended still, but he is actually a liablity. Shels are dangerous, but with their poor form, I think they will not win this game. Good luck.

2-2 draw. Last minute penalty from Keith Ward to save the day and give a push. The goal was almost like a victory though, considering I had written this off as a loss. :nana

Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 Two early picks for the games this Friday: UCD -v- Bray Wanderers My pick: UCD +0AH @ 2.01 odds with 188bet (2/10 stakes) Bray travel around 10km to south Dublin to take on UCD in an important clash for both clubs in terms of avoiding relegation this season. UCD have improved their performances and results in recent games and having lost to Derry City at the weekend in the FAI cup, now only have the league to concentrate on. Both teams like to play football 'on the deck', and both teams have a young squad. They also have two very good coaches between them; Martin Russell of UCD and Pat Devlin of Bray. Both these managers have these squads of players performing above their respective levels and deserve credit. Going into this game, I think Bray are weakened with the suspension of Jason Byrne, who is the star of their team and top goalscorer. Without him they lack somebody in attack who can score goals. UCD know they need to start winning games to avoid relegation, and I think they will win this Friday. Therefore the +0 AH odds at evens are generous and a low stakes bet must be taken. Drogheda -v- Dundalk My Pick: Dundalk +1 AH @ 1.87 odds with 188bet (3/10 units) Here we have the Louth derby between Drogheda United and Dundalk. The game comes at an interesting time for both teams. Drogheda were only a few weeks ago a surprise package and genuinely in a race for the title, but have subsequently seen a poor run of results dent their chances. Dundalk have had terrible financial problems this season, which almost saw the club folding between June and July. However, their financial future has been solved due to a takeover, and this has given a renewed vigour to the team. Furthermore, their caretaker manager Darius Kierans has given them more motivation and their results have been very encouraging since his appointment. Under previous manager McCaffrey, who was struggling even to manage the club with illness, they were underperforming. Darius Kierans is also an interesting factor in this fixture, since he was manager at Drogheda for a while in 2010. Therefore it adds to Dundalk's favour in my opinion, that he comes up against his ex-club for the first time as manager of Dundalk. The reality is, fixtures between these two clubs are always close affairs. This handicap provides security if Drogheda win by a goal, and I cannot see them winning by more than one goal. Therefore I believe this is a good pick. Medium stakes. Good luck. :ok
cork-shamrock

What a bad thing to welcome Shamrock with long injuries list! one of the best striker is suspended: V.Sullivan with 9 goals and the other one with 9 goals also D.O`Neill is doubtful with a chest infection. The goalkeeper is suspended, Two regular defenders are out : J.Dunleavy and D.Murphy plus a C.Healy in midfield. Last saturday Cork travelled to Shamrock for the FAI cup for a 2-0 defeat. For the last home game Cork defeat Drogheda 3-2 but this day Drogheda was some important mising players. Cork at home are not very good even if they are difficult to beat(3-5-3). On 11 games played at home they conceded at least 1 goal 10 times and Shamrock with their powerful attack should find the net 1 or 2 times. Shamrock still on 3 consecutives wins, they also didn`t lost since 7 games. -CORK injured or others : C.Lordan, E.Murphy, J.Dunleavy, C.Healy, G.Buckley suspended : D.Murphy, M.McNuity, V.Sullivan doubtful : D.O`Neill -SHAMROCK injured or others : S.O`Donell, G.Gartland suspended : none doubtful : none

The home team is the last home win with a score of 3-2 against Drogheda United, while the visiting team is two wins in a row, both with a score of 2-0. The home team is having a bad season and is nine points away from the relegation zone while Shamrock is fighting for a place in the Europa League. Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 St Patrick's Ath v Derry City A very important match for both sides in order to ensure European place. The Candystripes are in better shape, without conceding goal in the last four games. But it should be noted that they played last three games away from home and this will be the fourth for them in the past two weeks. On the other hand, the Saints are more rested since have not played match last 10 days. Important midfielder Russell is still doubtful for home team, while away side coming without two the best strikers Patterson and McDaid. Odds are fairly well set and situation is such that Pats are in must win situation and have home advantage, while guests are tired and without top strikers. So I think Derry will be difficult to score at Richmond Park, expect a defensive strategy from them tomorrow night. Pats are closer to winning, and if Russell be ready I expect three points for them. Home win to nil is @3 at Paddy, but I'll risk it with the correct results. 1:0 @6.25 Unibet 2:0 @8.25 Unibet

I agree with McNasara aout the home win to nil option being very tasty. Correct score options are very strong possibilities too, considering St. Pats don't score too many too often (other than that freak demolishing of Shamrock Rovers at the beginning of the season). I have a pick for the other game. Sligo Rovers -v- Bohemians My Pick: Sligo -1.25AH @ 2.05 odds with bet365 (3/10 units) Sligo come into this game as by far the best team in the league this season. They play the best football, and have an incredible home record too this season, having not lost a single game all season in the league. In fact the last time they lost in the league was over a year ago, in the 2011 season, coincidentally enough against Bohemians. However, that was a very different Bohemians team, managed by Pat Fenlon (current manager of Hibs who went and drew at Celtic Park 2-2 at the weekend) and other than Owen Heary and Keith Buckley, the rest of that team have all left the club (due to financial issues). The current Bohemians team is largely made up of youth and is managed by Aaron Callaghan. They have done well this season, and if the club finish in mid-table it will be a success. Bohemians are in the quarter finals of the FAI Cup, and have a very realistic chance of making it to the semi-finals and I believe this will begin to become their priority for the rest of the season. They will take the league as seriously as possible, but the cup becomes their most important goal now. Travelling away to Sligo, who are now only a few wins away from the league title, is a daunting task. I think that Sligo's midfield and possession play will be much too good for Bohemians to deal with. I think they will win this game by two goals (most likely a 2-0 or 3-0 scoreline) and therefore I think these odds are great value. Sligo lost Danny North their prolific striker to injury for the rest of the season about a month and a half ago, and at first I believed this may halt their championship chances. However, they have coped very well without him and they have scored goals regardless. Mark Quigley has stepped up to the plate, and as an ex-Bohs player, I think he'll be in the mood tomorrow evening.

Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 Hi Guys I have just started to look more closely in the Irish league to try and find more value for my betting rather than the more exposed leagues like England, Scotland or Spain etc. I was wondering why the bookies would be setting Shels at 7s against Shamrock? Of course Shamrock are the better team on paper, have better recent form than their opponents but I am thinking 7s is possibly a tad long considering there are only a couple of places separating them?

Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 Difference between them is even 13 points, the Hoops are fighting for a European place, while Shels have no imperative to win because they're safe in mid-table. Home team is in better shape and won in the previous two mutual duels this season. Away side come without three suspended regulars. These are the reasons why Shamrock is set for a big favorite. However... Shels play better away (only one defeat in last five away games) while Rovers have drawn their last four home games. Shamrock won convincingly 4:0 in last meeting against Shels at Tallaght Stadium, but you should know that an early red card for Shelbourne is determined the winner. After all this is a Dublin derby, so this is a classic no bet for me.

Thanks for the info. Anything can happen in a derby game.

Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 Otherwise I'm in very luckless row recently, so I don't have strong prediction so far. Most reasonable advices at a glance are... Bohs v Pats - Pats Bray v Drogs - over Derry v Cork - draw Dundalk v UCD - UCD Shams v Shels - over ...and it would be my options for combining multiple tickets, if I find a decent value for a strong bet I'll publish it.

Re: Ireland > Airtricity Premier League > 2012 I'm glad I could help :ok

Otherwise I'm in very luckless row recently, so I don't have strong prediction so far. Most reasonable advices at a glance are... Bohs v Pats - Pats :) @2.00 Bray v Drogs - over :) @1.80 Derry v Cork - draw :( Dundalk v UCD - UCD :) @3.00 Shams v Shels - over :) @1.75 ...and it would be my options for combining multiple tickets, if I find a decent value for a strong bet I'll publish it.
and I hit two out of three combinations with fantastic odds :cigar
