Re: GUKPT Coventry Unlucky Nade, well played to get so deep into Day 2 though. :clap Looks like my mobile broadband couldn't cope with my post at 3am this morning, but was basically saying this was such a great and fun experience. It was great to meet up with Runadrum/Avon/McG again and an honour to play alongside them. Also good to meet/chat to David Abrahams (one of the GCasino magicians that do so much for us alongside the likes of Mr Morls & Mr Ross from PL). He was telling Avon & myself some of his thoughts on the future of GUKPT and possible changes/additions to satellites into them. They're working on schedule for S6 now so should be released soon. Great venue, great tournament, great structure, fantastic experience. Looking forward to railing Hen and the October seat winner in future events :ok

Re: GUKPT Coventry Didn't know you were there Tom, shame we 3 missed you. Bart and I were sat at the same table all night. I was sat next to Micky Wernick for several hours and Bart was next to Sam Grafton, who seemed quite well known and was who eventually knocked me out. Have looked him up on HMDb since and he's previously cashed at GUKPT and WSOP, is still well stacked at Coventry at end of Day 2, and was clearly the man to be watched at the table. :ok Despite hanging in there until 2.30 am, about 25min from the end of Day 1, I don't think I ever got my chips back up to starting stack of 15k since I lost my first pot.:lol However the structure meant that I didn't start to feel really short of chips until the last couple of levels. Didn't really get my share of decent hands, aces once, jacks, 9s and a few smaller pairs, AK and AQ once I think, found a few spots to play less than premium hands ;) so was pretty happy with how I played what I got bearing in mind Grafton was 3-betting a lot of hands. My demise came when I finally dropped below 10k with blinds (800/400/50) on me I pushed all-in with A6o to Grafton's raise. He thought for quite a while before calling with K9. I hit 6 on flop, he hit K on turn. :( Funniest thing - being treat like a minor celebrity at the casino by several of the female staff, and a special mention from the Tower as he worked his way round the tables. :p Big thanks to Bart for giving me a lift back to the hotel as Duncan had been given leave to retire for the night several hours before (it definitely wasn't much of a spectator sport at that stage of the tournament) and to McG for keeping me company before the start and sharing my chips (eating variety) and both for your company throughout the evening. :ok Having seen me on a little of the D4 feed today, note to self not to sit so much with my elbows on the table propping my head up. :eyes

Not that keen on well stacked men myself Helen and not too sure Duncan would agree that would makes him "clearly the man to be watched at the table" Concentrate on the limping short stacks in future:ok

Re: GUKPT Coventry Back in hotel after playing the £110 Bounty side event (£75/£25+£10) as a finale to my weekend away. Had chipped up nicely picking good spots and was sitting with just over 20 big blinds with half of the field already gone when I got dealt the dreaded aces :unsure (copied from twitter for quickness) Utg raises, next up 3bets, third moves allin, i reshove aces to issolate & get 3 callers. 5-way to flop. :eyes Aa vs 77 vs aq vs aqs vs rags. 7 on the flop, q on the turn, suited aq hits his flush on the river to take us all. Nh gg gla. All good fun. Biggest winner was the dealer for not having to worry about the multiple side pots :lol Hats off again to GCasino Coventry & all the staff/dealers etc, great weekend. Hope to be home in time for the PL leagues tomorrow night, but apologies if sitting out at the start.
