BBOTD 24th March

Re: BBOTD 24th March 2:10 Chepstow - American Ladie - Back He has been very frustrating to follow but this finally looks like the gilt-edged opportunity that he's been waiting for to break his duck. Has been running some cracking races without quite being able to get his head in front, but he just looks to have been bumping into better horses rather than it being a question of his attitude. Today however, the ease in grade should prove crucial as this is the easiest task he's faced to date. He is comfortably the best horse in the race on ratings and I expect him to make that count and make an overdue visit to the winner's enclosure here 1pt win @ SP

Re: BBOTD 24th March The jolly in the 1st race at Carlisle will be hard to beat but i'll have a wee chance on a mare i,ve tipped a few times on the site. A winner just 7 days ago but she did go ever so well and can come home first again today ''if'' the fav should not run up to par, i do have a wee concern about the going as her last win was on heavy ground but she's had some fair efforts on much the same ground as today. Jockey and Trainer have had a few winners in the last couple of weeks and they could give the hot fav a race today. Carlisle 2:20 Lady Bluesky 1pt win @ SP Come on Jockeys form a line !

Re: BBOTD 24th March carlisle325 PATAVIUM 0.5pt ew 6/1 bet365 BPG a duel winner on the flat last year and made an encouraging seasonal debut over hurdles this year when 3rd at catterick. its run last time can be forgotten as the saddle slipped during the race and it was pulled up. quietly fancied to run a big race that day and could easily be well handicapped. could be the one that gives the favourite the most to do in this low grade event.

Re: BBOTD 24th March 230 Sth: Mud Monkey (5/2 Laddies) A rare look at a handicap chase for me, I like the way Mud Monkey attacked his fences last time and this better ground could see him stretch these from the front. The fav is up a lot in the weights after an easy win last time but he runs off 116 which is highest he has ran off for a couple of years. If the selection jumps well he will have this lot in trouble down the back straight.

Re: BBOTD 24th March drumbeater chepstow 4.25 1 point win 25/1 bet365 drumbeater carrying over a stone less than its rivals today should run a decent race over this 3 mile distance,a course and distance winner in the past and running ok last time out carrying 8lb more than todays weight,i feel the jockey could have done more last time out to get drumbeater into contention and the 25/1 about drumbeater looks tasty,8 runners perfect for e/w bets but for this comp 1 point win:hope

Re: BBOTD 24th March 3.15pm @ Chepstow 'Strongbows Legend' 5/2 (ladrokes) Unfortunately I doubt 'blind faith' would be a suitable reason for a BBOTD so regretfully I won't put up Mr Macattack, it will return to form someday, although 'blind faith' for 2 years now is costing the pocket substantially. So I'll go with ^ that chap. In decent placed form recently, until fell last time, was going ominously well though and although a few fences to go looked like a winner, so in my eyes a winner without a penalty. Tinkler up top again another positive for me. Vaughn's horse looks a danger but I don't think it'll stay well enough. 1 point win

Re: BBOTD 24th March 17:10 Carlisle SPIRIT CALLING - Done nothing since July 08. Raced prominentaly LTO jumping cleanly but tired to easy towards end pulling up. 14/1 ICE IMAGE - LTO was up 9lbs for win at Sedg led around was gutsy lead taken on last fence lost a few length and then found some more for good finish 3rd. Up another 1lb. 4/1 DAYTIME DREAMER - Was first go over the big fences LTO ran toward rear had hit the wall in running in back straight at last fence and pulled up. 14/1 BANOGE - All best runs at course a CD winner who ran CD LTO but yet to win for new trainer. Ran in midfield and finished strongly looked to have made the wrong choice in running towards the far rail in the run in. Looks a fair player 6/1 CONFLICTOFINTEREST - Last 3 races 44l 4/6, 33l 5/5 and 37l 7/10. 14/1 ALSO JO - Chase debut LTO making to many mistakes on the easier fences of Sedg. 16/1 WEE GEORGE - LTO 4 1/2l second to Flighty Mist who went up 7lb and went onto win the next by 2 1/2 length. Trainer has fair record here. 11/4 FRITH - On a good mark but 1/20 and unseated rider LTO. 11/1 TROODOS JET - Won race last year off 74. Jumped cleanly LTO and eased into 2nd place but did not want to dig in when asked once not in play eased home to finish 29l third. Losing 2lbs for that run and useful 7lb claimer with +£50 to the £1 stake onboard. 10/1. THE GREEN HAT - Yet to win out of 28 jumps. Tailed off LTO. 14/1 I therefore have it down to 4 and see Banoge as the value but such a bad record from me makes hope Troodos will dig in and give a good run with the chance of EW bet. 0.5EW 10/1 William Hill.

Re: BBOTD 24th March 3:00 Poppy Day @ Southwell - Can't see past this horse today in this race.Beaten favourite in both starts in the last year the most recent of which was at the beginning of last month when the jockey left too much to do.In the other race which was the first time it had ran in 564 days it was only beaten by a head in a class 4 race at Hexham. This is a class 6 and the same jockey as those runs claims 7lb. 1 pt Win bet @ 10/3 VCBet

Re: BBOTD 24th March 7.10 Kempton Kingaroo is far too short based on that all his form has come on the deep fibresand surface and yet to prove on polytrack although is 3lb well in here. Landesherr is an interesting runner, coming over from Germany having won a maiden over this trip on good ground, a mark of 65 could be a very lenient one on UK debut and the market support would suggest that aswell, yard not in bad form. Sunset Place appeared to step up markedly on anything he had shown upto last time out when when only found one too good in a maiden over this trip at lingfield, handicapper also saw that as a massive improvement upping his mark by 7lb but that could still be well within reach if repeating that form back in handicap company tonight. Camera Shy caught the eye last time outwhen having first run for well over a year and half staying on late in a race not run to suit very steady pace throughought, should see a truer test tonight and gets to run off the same mark tonight and could still have more to offer. 1pt win Landesherr 9/2 vc

Re: BBOTD 24th March Kempton 7:10 Lunar River 7-1 EW BET365(BOG) 1 point win Is a course specialist but generally over shorter distances than this, saying that looking through his history he has had some good finishes at 12f on other courses so the trip is not an issue. The claimer takes off 5lbs and had ridden him before to victory around here so that relationship looks solid enough, plus the 5lbs off put this in form hors eon an attractive mark. Its not that i think this horse is anything special its just there seems to big doubts about the rest and this price looks rather big to me. Kempton is a specialist course and this horse has more experience than most in the field.

Re: BBOTD 24th March KING CAINE 4.10 Southwell. 0.5 points each way. Finds it very hard to complete the course, but apparently a decent animal if he gets it right. Trip and ground shouldn't worry him and at double figure odds is worth the chance to stay on his feet or keep the jockey on board.

Re: BBOTD 24th March 5.40 Kempton: Captain Sharpe 1pt win @ 16/1 William Hill BOG Stable's small band of flat horses are in decent heart at the minute with a winner, a second and a no-placer from last three runners (this jockey aboard for win and 2nd). This horse is no forlorn hope on it's first run for the yard either, however fitness is taken on trust. Last time horse was seen was finishing 3rd in a decent maiden at brighton over 7f, the form of which, if taken literally, gives this horse a shout here at the weights. The 2nd home horse that day (half length in front) went on to give weight and a sound beating to Malice Or Mischief in a handicap from 71 in November and line through that horse gives Captain Sharpe claims. This is all taken on the assumption the horse is fit, but if ready, could go very close at a tasty price.

Re: BBOTD 24th March 5.30 Mike Towey 1pt win 11/2 bet365 Backed this last time and put it up here when narrowly denied by the well backed Sertao. Positively ridden by o'brien that day and was caught just at end. Given that was its first start In 10months was a great effort and should come on for that today. Stable 2-8 here and only dangers I can see is scudamores ride who won a ptp but not raced under rules as yet and Paul Nicholls trained Black thunder who is well bred but will probably need the run.

Re: BBOTD 24th March 7:10 KEMPTON - CAMERA SHY - 1 PT WIN BET365 Caught my eye earlier this month here at Kempton when making a belated return to racing. Held at the back that day before being given a run up the outside and making good headway finishing 3rd to Sir Boss and Lytham, beaten 5 lengths or so. All in all, a very encouraging run and the name went straight in my little black book as one to watch out for next time. Will undoubtedly strip a lot fitter for that run. Could well put in the kind of performance that took it to win back to back races on the green stuff back in June 2009.

Re: BBOTD 24th March 8.10 Kempton Tislaam was given a very poor ride lto by a jockey I have no time for and I think that run is best ignored as Winston tried to get him through a non exisitent gap. He's back at the scene of his last victory albeit over an extra furlong tonight and now with a very capable jockey up. With luck in running I fancy this horse to come form off the pace and win in the final strides. 1 Pt win 11/2 VCBet

Re: BBOTD 24th March 8.40 Kempton Final Tune 16/1 e/w William Hill This one has only had 2 runs since March 2008 and has obviously had problems but this has won off higher marks in the past. Off a lowly mark of 58 tonight, this horse should run well if building on his return from a 2 year break. The horse travelled well on his return and showed that some ability was still there. It is IF's with this horse tonight though and I can't be confident that the horse will build on his return but if doing so, he could go close here. The horse has won off 72 in the past so if running anywhere near that, he could take this.

Re: BBOTD 24th March Bets still to settle

Kempton 8.10 - I Confess 1 pts win @ 5/1 with Bet365 Reliable sort usually who has 3 wins from last 4 runs although the wins have come at a lower level but comes into this in good form and back handicapping still could have a say.

Re: BBOTD 24th March 8.10 Kempton - Tislaam 11/2 VC One that needs luck in running and got none of that last time out, still travelling well around the bend at Lingfield but was in no position to win, done to get as close as he did but showed to me he's still capable off this mark. Stronger race this but he's been progressing well in the past year, rarely running a bad race so in this smaller field should hopefully be finishing fast and late.
