Re: Making Money - Anyone? Just looking at the PL site convinces me that it is possible to make money long term - but all the profitable strategies and systems require that age old quality discipline. A point here, a point there just for fun easily wipes out any profits of a good system. Money making at this game is hard work and really no different to a job in all respects, so it's no surprise that we have the urge to place fun bets. What I've found helpful is finding the fun in the selection process and then recording the results - and I'm grateful to all you guys for all the gems of help I've picked up along the way :ok

Re: Favourite Jockeys Have to agree with all the above but must make a mention of Neil Callan - great tactician and strong finisher.

Re: E/W Fancies Sunday 12/08/07 Thanks Guys, I try to pick horses that I think have a good chance of winning if not a very good chance of placing for no loss or a slight profit but they are doing the business great lately - I'm certain I wont be able to keep this level up but hopefully can tick among nicely :drums

Re: E/W Fancies Sunday 12/08/07 3:50 Leicester ... Ideally (10/1 various) Massive early price for a handicap combo of B Hills / M Hills. Dead Heat winner last time out after making all on slower ground - has been entered a class higher for this race where nothign else stands out. Price expected to shorten.

Re: Lingfield 11/08/08 Cut & Pasted from E/w fancies. 7:10 Lingfield ... Hansomelle (6/1 various) Consistent type - has won at the course and over the distance - ground is fine. Danger comes from Postmaster but should run a good race and at least place with the consistency.

Re: EW Fancies - Fri 10/08/07
Good call BH 2nd for another nice return :clap- think mine had a day off !!330 Sedgefield : Mister Fizzbomb (12/1) An absolutely wide open race on paper and a chance is taken with Mister Fizzbomb, high in the handicap at present but gets in this race on favourable terms compared to handicaps. A couple of very good runs in his form puts him in with every chance and the opposition are very moderate, paper fav has pulled out too which was the main danger. Not 100% relaible but at the price i'll take a risk. -
Re: Lingfield 10/08/07 Cut & pasted from E/W thread. 2:15 Lingfield ... Takes Tutu (11/2 Various) Short price but 1/4 odds for a small profit if it makes the frame - bet 365 go 5/1 for this. Won LTO over same class and distance a repeat performance will suffice - a certain Mr Spencer rides (which is significant in itself) and has a great record at Lingfield.

Well today is my Birthday - a spritely 41 - should have been born the day England won the World Cup but as usual I was late. :loon :rollin:loon 2:15 Lingfield ... Re: DannyCash & Aelara's Lay System Good Luck with this Both :ok Can you hint at the average amount of selection per day ?

Re: Thursday's Each Way Fancies
Not offended at all Fatz - I often get things backwards just ask the other half about mitred corners :loon Hopefully I'm going in the right direction now :okCertainly do remember it. Please don't be offended but I was backing your lays to win and most did. Your odds-lines seem rather good at highlighting which horses are fit and ready. ;) -
Re: Thursday's Each Way Fancies Thanks Guys !! As they say money talks - don't know if anybody remembers my value lay thread :loon

Re: Yarmouth 09/07/07 Cut & pasted from e/w fancies ... dont laught but I have gone for :drums 3:20 Yarmouth ... Wickedish (8/1 various) Form is nothing to write home about at all should be 16/1 on form - yet the market has this priced as a good place option 8/1 with various and interestingly BET365 has this marked up at 13/2. Progressive type and will improve on last run and with a good track jockey onboard I'm hopeful of a good run.

Re: Aelara's downfall?? You're still showing an ROI of 30% which is superb, and what you predicted at the start - all that's really happened is that your graph has returned to the median line :ok

Re: EW Fancies - Wed 08/08/07 6:50 Kempton ... Im ova ere dad (8/1 Various) Won 2 very similar races to this at the start of this season but has lost the plot a little lately - VERY interesting jockey booking indicates an expected turn around - Le chiffre may well win this but the selection looks a better bet to place at 1/4 odds. Wrote this before I saw BillyHills nap selection :notworthy still positive it will place though :ok

Re: Aelara's downfall?? Hope so too Aelara :hope Thanks for posting these - loads of cards to trawl through today :ok

Re: Longest Traveller 'System' Still watching mate - you're not alone - keep up the good work :ok

Re: Massey in August
Nice start DC :clap hoping for another couple to come in to turn things around.and an absolute shedload today !! Catterick 2.30 MYSTIFIED :hope -
Re: Tuesdays EW Fancies 07/08/07 5:15 Chepstow ... Milton's Keen (5/1 bet365) 2nd on each of last 3 runs on much slower ground and expected to go one better today. Short price at 5/1 but 1/4 odds for a tiny profit at worst.

Re: Mondays E/W Fancies. 6/08/07 Great tipping BH - Awesome Stuff !!

Re: Ripon 06/08 Cut & Pasted from E/W Fancies :- 2:50 Ripon ... Jojesse E/W (6/1 bet365) Last 3 runs have been dissappointing but he's now back down to a winning class and distance - The racing post says the draw is a disadvantage but looking at other sources I can't see a problem. Stable is in good form and does well in sellers. :hope

Re: Monday EW Fancies Not a great deal to choose from today so a cautious selection. Wolves 4:30 ... Josh You Are (5/1 various) 1/4 odds All previous wins have been on the A/W including last but one race when winning nicely - ran a creditable 3rd on turf LTO. Back on favourite surface over a favourable distance with familiar jockey.
