Re: EW Fancies 29/08/07 It's a funny ol game this - my selection that came 5th the other day wins today - and my selection today shortens from 10/1 to 5/1 second fav and finishes dead last :(

Re: EW Fancies 29/08/07 Ayr 5:30 ... News of the Day (8/1) @ 1/4 odds Zain looks to be the choice pick but is suspect, and at 7/4 I'm taking him on. The selection won a race 3 classes higher than this the race before last, but subsequently disappointing LTO - if you forgive the last race the odds would be much lower and will be there or thereabouts on current conditions.

Chepstow 4:30 ... Pelham Crescent (10/1) at 1/4 odds Potentiale looks very consistant and should win this especially with Ryan Moore in the saddle but at 5/2 after a series of 2nd places - I think a safer bet is on the above selection to place for a similar payout and a nice bonus if winning. Last 2 runs have been on the AW producing a nice win and a disappointing 4th (when favourite) back on turf again where the Horse, Trainer and Jockey have nice % figures.

Re: E.W Fancies for Sunday 26/08/07 5:40 Goodwood ... Willofcourse (7/1 various) 3rd in a maiden handicap at Yarmouth over today's distance, ran to the same mark LTO over 5f when just touched off into 2nd, it's only a matter of time before he picks up a race such as this at these weights.

Re: E/W Fancies Saturday 25/08/07 Redcar 7:30 ... Sangfroid (6/1) at 1/4 odds. Trainers a master at this type of race - disappointing run LTO when sent off favourite so something probably amiss and can be forgiven. Improvement expected and cant see it being out of the frame for a "free one".

Edge of Gold (6/1) Won a race just like this in a maiden at Newbury end of June subsequently placed 2nd for interference (different jockey to recent) Won again LTO over 5f and on faster ground than today so a nice speed trial burn out. Conditions all suit for her today, ground, jockey, draw so expect a good run.

Antrim Rose (12/1) Previously run as a 2yo for the Gosden Yard with limited success - now a year older and running for the Vaughan Stable in handicaps, again limited success LTO but was held up last (indicating hope) and not an easy run. Counting the last run as a settler in the yard and a pipe clearer I'm expecting better things today in a race were nothing much stands out.

Re: Tuesdays E/W Fancies 21/08/07 Couldn't find anything yesterday after all the non-runners and abandoned meeting but today is different. I'm sticking with another Stoute runner today. 4:25 York ... Flawed Genius (15/2) 1/4 odds Just the sort of race that Stoutey loves to win - yard is in great form with high expectations from Notnowcato earlier in the day. Ryan Moore is again in the saddle on a horse that looks to be aimed at this race. Won a maiden over 7f - would have been closer over 6f last time out but for a troubled run and finished a close 4th Todays 6f over softer ground shouldnt be as much a problem for him as for the others and is certain to be thereabouts.

Honest Prospector (6/1) and 1/5th odds Sir M Stoute has just the one runner today and it's at Ponterfract, a track that he has a 32% overall strike rate at. Couldn't disagree more with RP comments - Won easily last time out over identical conditions at Thirsk 16 days ago in a very nice time (2nd horse ran a personal best (beaten 2.5 lengths) and the 3rd a further 7 lengths away) Royston Ffrench rides again, in a race a class higher than last victory.

Dhaular Dhar (20/1 various) In a wide open contest the selection is taken to place for a nice profit - has a terrific turn of foot (when in the mood) and 20/1 is a huge price in a close contest - with a promising claimer on board things look right for her to run well today.

Piper's Song (5/1) With a couple of leading contenders withdrawn from this race it looks good for the selection to take advantage of. 3rd last time out and looks to be running into form - stable are starting to fire ( despite RP comments ) and a capable jockey on board should do the business for us.

Re: Quick System I usualy double check against Racing Post , Sporting Life, Turftrax. Each gets it wrong occasionally but today Turftrax has it down correct.

Re: Quick System DP From what I can see Royal Approval won LTO at Downpatrick 3:25 on the 12th August and fits the bill. Lady Causeway was 7th LTO so doesnt fit. Beautiful Madness is a choice

Re: Help with horses that place? (Placepot Help!) The best pointers I can give are these :- 1) Find a horse that the conditions of the race suits - form figures i.e. 5306 may look bad and you would usually avoid, but you need to look at the race in which it placed and see if the conditions suit again. 2) Look for horses running into form some horses peak at certain times of the year rpr ratings and past form are good for this. 3) Look at significant jockey bookings i.e Mr Average has ridden for the last 4 races then Mr champion-contender gets a go (not being sexist) 4) Then market moves if a horse form looks a 16/1 chance and is sitting at 8/1 there's usually a good reason. I use a variety of sourses for this, it's not easy and the more time you put in the better the results - as Gary Player once answered to somebody who said he was lucky "the more I practise the luckier I get"

I've heard it said in the past that the Corals shop at Lambourne losses £1,000's in the year, but saves it £1,000's over the rest of it's organisation.I'm guessing that it may well serve Ladbrokes' purposes very well having a shop there. Wouldn't be at all suprised if bets placed in that shop by the right people had an influence on odds nationwide. :unsure -
Beverley 2:10 ... Dubai Time (8/1 various) 1/5th odds Don't usually like maidens and especially 2yo ones :eek Market is making a move for this, has a good draw and is well bred, in form trainer and strong jockey - what more can you say about a maiden :loon!! Reasoning is that it stands a good chance of winning, but should place for a slight profit at worst IMHO.

Re: Tuesday EW Fancies 7:00 Muss ... Drink To Me Only (to early to call estimate 8/1) and 1/4 odds to place. Inconsistent over the last 2 races but loves Musselborough - Had allsorts of different Jockeys ride him but Dale Gibson booked today who has won on him previously. Ground Fine, Distance Good, Weighted OK, Loves the Course and should go well today.

Consistent sort running 3 good races recently - sent off favourite at Brighton latest when flattered to deceive off a track that didn't suit - conditions all go for today and Bet365 go 11/2 with this one with others at 7's.
