    1.10 Doncaster - 1pt e/w Dash of Spice @ 11/1
Was off a higher mark than this a few years ago and took a couple of runs to get going after two years off the track. Had excuses over 1m6f and then was too close to a hot pace behind Laafy at Ascot recently. Put in a poor run last time but is the type to bounce back and conditions suit so can see a good run today.
    2.05 Cheltenham - 1pt e/w Botox Has @ 13/2
Wasn't far behind Allmankind when they met here last season and there looks quite a lot of pace in here which can suit Botox Has who stays strongly and will relish a test today. Has form up there with the best here and at 13/2, so long as he's fit enough, really should make the frame and threaten the win.
    3.15 Cheltenham - 1pt e/w Minella Warrior @ 22/1
Hasn't worked out for him over fences - he's not the best jumper, quite slow and uses energy to get over his flights and I think it's the right move bringing him back to hurdles. Was in good form in staying hurdle races when last running in this sphere and it wouldn't surprise me to see a big improvement now with a stamina test to suit.
    3.35 Newbury - 1pt e/w Percy's Lad @ 14/1
Was impressive on debut given Eve Johnson-Haughton's runners typically come on plenty and there's substance to both that form and its win in a muddling affair last time, doing well to win from two solid yardsticks. Soft ground shouldn't inconvenience and a better gallop to aim at here (stays further) can see a big run.
    3.50 Cheltenham - 1pt win West Approach @ 7/1
Often saves his best for Cheltenham and also has a good record fresh which bodes well for today's reappearance. Had an off day when last seen, never really travelling, but is the type to bounce back with conditions to suit having been freshened up and has been rated higher in the past.
    4.05 Doncaster - 1pt e/w Firmament @ 16/1
Looks a big price to me as a flat track suits and is only a pound higher than when winning at York earlier in the season. Has been running okay lately but over a mile when 7f is his trip and the drop back to this distance today will definitely help. Can see him running his race and getting involved at the finish at a big price.

    12.40 Newbury - 1pt e/w Chipstead @ 10/1
Positive that there's been some money for this one already as Roger Teal wouldn't have many debutant winners but this one is nicely bred out of a 90-rated sprinter who won on debut and by Mayson who gets decent early horses and they tend to relish soft ground. With conditions likely to suit on debut and market support this morning, a good run could be on the cards.
    1.00 Doncaster - 1pt e/w Victim @ 11/1
Titian's mark still looks a bit high to me and the second favourite has to prove that give in the ground suits so I quite like Richard Fahey's runner at an each-way price. Showed promise on debut before doing well to get up over 7f last time out. Beat a couple of solid yardsticks that day who had the run of the race and definitely appears some scope off this mark going handicapping. The step up to a mile will suit and soft ground isn't a problem so looks to hold sound claims.
    1.30 Doncaster - 1pt e/w Rani of Jhansi @ 12/1
Was weakish in the market for its intended debut before being withdrawn but I still think there's some scope here for a big run. From a good middle distant family being out of Madame Chiang (who bolted up on debut) and a full sibling to Oriental Mystique. Will get further in time but this is a good starting point, any cut in the ground will suit and Simcock can get debut winners so will stick with this one today.
    1.50 Cheltenham - 2pts win Does He Know @ 7/1
I think Kim Bailey's runner is overpriced here as his second to House Island two starts back reads well with that one going on to be rated 140 and that length defeat came in a manner that suggested this one wants a stiffer track. Won easily from two solid types back at Ludlow last time and I think has an excellent chance today with a style that should suit this track and with as good a form as any other in the race.
    2.50 Newbury - 1pt e/w Arctic Victory @ 11/1
I think we can ignore this one's latest run at Chelmsford when running miles below par and it was likely just a blip. Was an impressive winner on debut at Windsor and nearly backed that up there next time out over further, racing keenly and only being grabbed late on by Urban Artist - a horse who has since gone on to be rated well into the 90s. The hood goes on today to try settle her down and preserve her energy and if going on the ground (was fine on good to soft) looks overpriced given the promise of her first two runs.
    3.00 Cheltenham - 1pt e/w Up The Straight @ 11/1
Can be expected to come on for its handicap debut last time when returning on soft ground and ran okay given he probably needed it. Looks more than fairly handicapped on the evidence of a staying on third to Shishkin before winning well from a horse who went on to be rated higher than what Up The Straight runs off today. Conditions suit and can go close with the benefit of a recent run.
    3.15 Doncaster - 1pt e/w Hochfeld @ 22/1
Has edged back down to a winnable mark and has a further 7lbs off his back today. Been a bit hit and miss since winning at Goodwood but has been running in good races and the combination of 2 miles and soft ground was his undoing last time out. This is a bit easier than some races he's been contesting and it wouldn't surprise me to see a big run from close to the pace this afternoon.

    2.00 Ludlow - 2pts win The Happy Chappy @ 9/2
Usually a consistent type so can give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll bounce back from a poor run last time. Was previously running well enough in staying chases and this is a weak enough race to think he can get his head in front. Can get outpaced so Nick Scholfield will have to be alert to keep him in contention but if he's close enough turning for home, he can outstay these.
    2.22 Lingfield - 1pt e/w Carlow Farmer @ 18/1
Winning Irish pointer who showed promise in a couple of starts on these shores before running flat when last seen. Has been off since March but ran in a hot novice hurdle two starts back which makes this mark look achievable going chasing and is also upped in trip which ought to suit on pedigree. Fitness taken on trust but quite a healthy price in any case.
    2.35 Ludlow - 1pt e/w Howdilyoudo @ 11/1
Definite each-way possibilities for Jamie Snowden's charge after showing promise in a bumper and a novice hurdle. Was a solid 4th on jumping debut despite coming back from a lengthy absence and those ahead of him are decent types. Ought to come on for that, good ground suits and the step up in trip looks a good move too. With a couple of these carrying a penalty, think this one has sound hopes.
    2.50 Carlisle - 1pt e/w Fin And Game @ 25/1
Competitive race but Donald McCain's runner looks overpriced for all he's probably handicapped about right. Was running in hot races last year and clearly was amiss when last seen but has good form when fresh, conditions suit and the yard are going well so with 7lbs taken off his back looks overpriced today assuming all is well again.
    4.20 Ludlow - 1pt e/w Chasamax @ 10/1
Nicky Henderson's runner looks to have a good chance here if conditions were against him the last twice. Was too keen and dropped out over 2m4f when last seen and ran on heavy ground two starts back but a return to the same conditions that saw him finish an excellent second to Tea Clipper three starts back ought to suit and on that evidence, this mark is far from beyond him.
    4.34 Carlisle - 1pt e/w Teme Spirit @ 33/1
Only shown bits and pieces of form but its best runs have come on good ground and I think the trip has stretched him the last twice. Promising runner up in a novice three starts back and a repeat of that would see him competitive off this mark. Conditions look ideal today so worth another chance at a big price.

    1.00 Newmarket - 2pts win Urban Violet @ 9/2
Slightly weak in the market but this one has run well on three starts to date, similar efforts on each occasion. Has been staying on late without threatening over 7f on sound surfaces but is bred to get further and the extra emphasis on stamina today should suit. There's soft ground horses on both sides of this one's pedigree too so all in all I'm quite sweet on her chances of getting off the mark in a winnable race.
    2.35 Fontwell - 1pt e/w Away for Slates @ 8/1
Definite scope off this mark for a win and this horse typically runs well at the track. Weakened late on here on seasonal reappearance which can be excused on bottomless ground and should strip fitter now. Competitive off this sort of mark earlier in the year around here and looks likely to run another big race.
    2.45 Newmarket - 1pt e/w Love is Golden @ 8/1
This one has a fantastic pedigree with 7 of its 8 half siblings receiving black type and there looks plenty more to come from this one now stepping up trip. Got the job done on soft ground over a mile and backed that up with a sound effort in a hot contest last time not beaten far. That said, looks certain to improve for the extra emphasis on stamina here, up 2f on ground it's already won on and looks a nice price here.
    3.35 Hereford - 1pt e/w Mustang Alpha @ 20/1
I think Jamie Snowden's runner has been a bit overlooked to be honest just because he's had one bad run. Was disappointing last time when upped in trip but that came quickly off the back of a seasonal reappearance and possible too soon. Has been given 42 days off since to freshen up and was sent off a 7/1 shot that day so not unfancied and had previously shown a good level of form in novice hurdles. Was a ready winner of a good ground point to point too and looks a big price with evidence to suggest he can bounce back here with conditions ideal.
    4.30 Newmarket - 1pt e/w Whiskey N Chips @ 16/1
Looks off a fair mark on this one's best run when beaten narrowly under similar conditions to those he faces today. Had excuses at Kempton next time out and ran okay in a decent race at Haydock last time when unable to get involved. However, I can see him going forward today back over 7f which suits at Newmarket and the softer conditions also look ideal so a good each-way price in my eyes.

    12.25 Yarmouth - 1pt e/w Diamond And Gold @ 9/1
Backed this one last time when running terribly at Doncaster but the fact he's been given time off since suggests he wasn't right that day. Promising debut over 7f in a hot race and has a nice pedigree too. The extra emphasis on stamina will suit and this one has a soft ground pedigree on his dam's side so that shouldn't inconvenience either. Couple of promising types at the top of the betting but 9/1 represents a good each-way price so long as last time was simply a blip.
    12.40 Exeter - 1pt e/w Sweeping Rock @ 10/1
Has bounced back to form the last twice under similar conditions and looks capable of going close again here. The stiff nature of the track will suit as he comes home strongly in his races and the climb to the line is of benefit here. Has an experienced jockey on board which can be crucial in these amateur races and looks a big price each-way in this contest.
    12.55 Yarmouth - 1pt e/w Enchanted Night @ 10/1
James Tate's runner has an appealing pedigree and makes each-way appeal on debut. Dam is an unraced daughter of a speedy 2 year old who regressed and is also related to some good sprinters. Both sides of its pedigree suggest she'll make a good 2yo and also that she'll relish soft conditions so at a double figure price, looks to hold sound claims with hopefully the market to move in our favour.
    1.40 Exeter - 1pt e/w Simple Words @ 20/1
Favourite will take a bit of beating but at an each way price, quite tempted by Jimmy Frost's hurdling debutant. Raced twice for Joseph O'Brien on the flat in Ireland - showing a modicum of ability without threatening but comes from a good family and both half siblings are good horses on the level. This one's dam enjoyed top of the ground which he didn't get in his career in Ireland and looks interesting on hurdling debut today if fit enough to do himself justice. There's jumps horses in his family and will stay okay so has hopes for a yard who had a winner yesterday.
    2.35 Yarmouth - 1pt e/w Enchantee @ 20/1
Not too concerned about the drift of this one as he's gone off at huge prices on all starts so far and shaped with promise the last twice over trips that have appeared insufficient. Gets an extra furlong and a half today having stayed on over a mile and 1m2f recently and that move looks to make sense, especially as a couple of this one's half siblings stay that far. Not a strong race and could get involved at a price again.
    2.50 Exeter - 1pt e/w Winter Getaway @ 10/1
Competitive little race but I think Richard Hobbs' runner represents a bit of value assuming his most recent outing was a blip. Never going with much fluency that day despite being sent off at 5/2 and it's possible it came too soon after his seasonal reappearance - which was a promising staying on third over 2m4f. Certainly wants a trip to the testing 3 miles here will help and has had three weeks off since to hopefully freshen him up and get him back on song. Has form in hurdles and points over three miles so conditions suit and if bouncing back to the form of his seasonal reappearance, has hopes if jumping holds up.
    5.40 Newcastle - 1pt e/w Magnificia @ 33/1
Looks a bit overpriced given it has form under these conditions and shaped better than the result here two starts back - never able to get involved from the rear despite moving well for a long way. Stays further so would like to see a handier ride today as was outspeeded there and actually ran better than the bare result on turf last time when racing in a small group. Big price if this race pans out better.

Another frustrating day with The Bravest beaten a short head, Peace Prevails also 2nd and Sin E Shekells travelling best of all to dispute 2f out yet finishing 4th at 16/1.
Wolverhampton fancies - all prices Bet365:
4.25 - 2pts win Pax Britannica @ 9/2 - dropped substantially in class from last time against horses in the 70s and still ran respectably despite being keen. The slightly easier track here will suit and down a couple of pounds in the handicap too.
5.00 - 1pt e/w Trusty Rusty @ 12/1 - agree with mase here and a horse who was chinned at big odds for me a couple of starts back. Ground an excuse last time, fair draw to bounce out from and track can suit those on the pace so looks to have solid each way hopes at a price.
5.30 - 2pts e/w Deftera Lad @ 9/2 - this looks an each-way bet to nothing as very difficult to see him out of the frame. Form figures at Wolverhampton read 434121352 so rarely runs a big race here and this isn't strong. Mark is fine too and drawn well so with a bit of luck, ought to go very close.
6.00 - 1pt e/w Heer We Go Again @ 8/1 - been running exclusively on the turf recently but form suggests he's best on the artificial surfaces and over 5f. Has had excuses with ground and trip recently but is drawn in stall 1 here so can bounce out under perfect conditions and hopefully be tough to pass.
6.30 - 1pt e/w Intimate Moment @ 25/1 - showed promise last year and whilst being a bit in and out since, has shown promise and enough to suggest she can win off this sort of mark. Ran better that the result suggests at Kempton last time over 6f, only fading late on and the drop to 5f is ideal around here. Well drawn and looks overpriced.

    1.00 Windsor - 1pt e/w Flip Mode @ 12/1 Bet365
Taken a while to get going but has shaped better the last twice and this free going sort looks ready for the drop back to the minimum trip. Needs a bit of luck in running but can be allowed to crack on a bit more today rather than be restrained and has been nibbled in the market already.
    1.15 Pontefract - 1pt e/w The Bravest @ 11/1 Bet365
Iain Jardine's runner has bags of stamina in his pedigree and he's shaped that way in two starts to date, failing to build on a promising debut 3rd behind two good horses when getting outpaced at Newcastle last time. Looks off a fair mark on that debut run and his excess stamina will help around Pontefract on soft ground. Would hope they ride him positively if he can get handy but this will likely be a slog late on and that will really help so definite claims.
    1.45 Pontefract - 2pts win Naamoos @ 9/2 Hills
Surprised at the price of Naamoos for all I suppose these conditions are somewhat new. Was a good 2nd on debut to a race experienced horse who is now rated in the 100s and then this one bolted up by 17 lengths next time out. The favourite here was impressive on debut but too little form to go off since to judge it and I think this second favourite is the bet.
    2.10 Plumpton - 1pt e/w Peace Prevails @ 22/1 Bet365
Shaped pretty well on hurdling debut in a decent race, ticking off rivals from the rear and staying on for 3rd. Only fairly moderate on the flat but ought to come on for that experience and has solid place claims again at a big price.
    2.50 Pontefract - 2pts win Awake My Soul @ 13/2 Bet365
Getting on a bit now but in good form and looks capable of scoring off this mark. Was denied a clear run a couple of starts back and ran a blinder when 2nd last time out. Stays this trip well, handles soft ground and was almost three lengths clear of the horse in 3rd last time which suggests this mark is by no means beyond him.
    3.50 Pontefract - 1pt e/w Sin E Shekells @ 14/1 Bet365
Was disappointing on his first start for the yard last time but he is a free going sort and was too keen over 7f on bottomless ground that day. Definitely has ability, as shown in Ireland and the drop back to a stiff 6f looks likely to suit this headstrong type. If he can conserve his energy, should be competitive at the finish.

    1.20 Ascot - 1pt e/w Fujaira Prince @ 11/1 Hills
Think the Ebor winner has sound each-way claims after a solid 2nd in the Irish St Leger to Search for A Song. That one is half the price of my selection but its best form has come on a sound surface whereas Fujaira Prince is at home on deep ground and comes from a family of soft ground horses. Ought to stay the extra couple of furlongs and has the class to make the frame.
    1.55 Ascot - 1pt win Starman @ 9/1 and 1pt e/w The Tin Man @ 40/1 Bet365
Couple against the field here - can't knock what Starman has achieved so far, putting some good horses in their place in three runs. Comfortably saw off the thriving Dakota Gold when last seen which puts him right into the picture here. Shapes as if a stronger gallop would suit him and soft ground shouldn't inconvenience on pedigree being by Dutch Art.
The Tin Man is a stalwart in these contests and is another who wants a fast pace on soft ground. Wasn't best positioned at Haydock and similarly behind Dakota Gold last time when giving far too much rope to that one. Could go well at a price with conditions suiting.
    2.30 Ascot - 2pts win Dame Malliot @ 9/2 Bet365
I think this one has the best form in the book and the return to soft ground will really suit. Ran a cracker when 3rd in Germany a couple of starts back, giving generously but just touched off. Had Barney Roy behind that day which is very good form and similarly ran well on good ground behind Tarnawa in France last time. Had Wonderful Tonight in behind who reopposes here but I fancy Dame Malliot to hold that form and those two could well fight out the finish.
    3.40 Ascot - 1pt e/w Pyledriver @ 18/1 PP
This is a belting race and I again think that Pyledriver is being overlooked. He's probably best at 1m4f but is very versatile and not short on speed. The Leger trip perhaps slightly stretched him last time but still ran a blinder and with a decent gallop on here, can go close. Soft ground no problem, has the speed and the stamina to be effective here and has course form from earlier in the year. Plenty of dangers but receiving the 3yo allowance, looks overpriced.
    3.45 Catterick - 1pt win Copper Knight @ 7/1 Bet365
Dropping down the weights and has run with promise in decent races the last twice - showing up for a very long way at Haydock two starts back and running okay at York since. Down to a mark of 90 and this track promises to suit. Speedy horses prosper around here and if Copper Knight gets into a rhythm and uses its momentum down the straight can take some pegging back.

    12.40 Haydock - 0.5pts e/w Red Walls @ 40/1 Bet365
Not shown a great deal so far but actually ran okay from a prominent sit at 500/1 last time out, fading late on to be a respectable 5th over 6f. Is bred to be speedy and showed some dash there so the drop to 5f should suit and soft ground doesn't look an inconvenience. Can offer excuses at Chester in both runs there so now going handicapping, worth chancing at big odds if building on last time out.
    1.45 Haydock - 1pt e/w Lincoln Park @ 11/1 Bet365
This one wants either a testing 6f or easy 7f and just did too much too soon over the latter at Chester last time out. Was rushed up to get handy but was pestered on the front end and faded late on. 6f on heavy ground here at Haydock will be ideal, has plenty of course form and holds each-way hopes.
    1.50 Uttoxeter - 1pt e/w Killer Clown @ 15/2 Bet365
Competitive novice chase but I like Emma Lavelle's charge on chasing debut having shaped well albeit looking like fences could be the making of him in novice hurdles. Back from a break but the yard is going okay and can ready them. This one won its only start in a point to point when 11 lengths ahead of a horse who is now rated 120 in the chasing sphere so this one looks set to be competitive off 124 today if fit enough to do himself justice.
    2.23 Uttoxeter - 1pt e/w Summer Name @ 14/1 Bet365
Rebecca Curtis' runner won after a mammoth absence last November in a novice event when pulling clear with a 130 rated rival and on that evidence, this mark shouldn't be beyond him. Didn't run as well in a hot novice won by Shishkin next time out but that was over 2 miles whereas its win came over 2m4f on soft ground. Despite racing on the flat, this one comes from a family of stout stayers (a couple of his half siblings stayed 2 miles/2m4f on the level) so the step up to 2m7f over hurdles should be okay and we know he can do the business fresh so with wind surgery since that latest run, could go well on its reappearance.
    2.35 Redcar - 0.5pts e/w Explain @ 33/1 Hills
Have to take a leap of faith with this one but once upon a time was a good type and has tumbled down the weights in recent times. Shaped okay two and three starts back, keeping on from the rear but was lifeless last time. Been given a break since, however, and is a heavy ground winner so soft conditions aren't a problem. Have to take fitness and wellbeing on trust but will presumably bounce back at some point so worth chancing at a big price.
    3.05 Redcar - 1pt e/w Martins Brig @ 8/1 Bet365
Has some decent form in the book and promisingly those runs suggest 7f on soft ground would be absolutely spot on for him. Well handicapped on a couple of those runs too having slipped down the weights for lesser shows in races where he's had excuses and couldn't get involved from the rear and a wide draw at Wolverhampton last time. Yard are going well, this track should help him get involved and can see a better run now.
    5.05 Redcar - 1pt e/w Thorntoun Care @ 10/1 Bet365
Conditions suit for this one who's down to a handy mark and whilst getting on a bit now, has shown enough to suggest he's capable of landing a race this season. Shaped well three starts ago over slightly further off a higher mark and was outstayed at Catterick two starts back. Couldn't reel in the leaders when last seen in a race dominated by those towards the front (the only horse who finished ahead of this one from a similarly held-up position bolted up next time out) and with a decent pace likely here, should be coming home well.

Strong finishing type who relishes this course and distance and only edges up the handicaps for its wins as only strikes the front late in the day. Consistent type who looks sure to be finishing well so long as it gets a clear passage so represents excellent each-way value here.
    1.52 Carlisle - 2pts win You Name Him @ 5/1 Bet365
Novicey so far over hurdles but has shown ability behind some decent types and this stiff track ought to suit. Would like to see more use of him today as typically gets behind and his jumping puts him on the back foot. Finishes well though and with a more positive ride could put it all together today.
    2.25 Lingfield - 2pts win Prince Rock @ 9/2 Bet365
Consistent type who's run well on all three starts this season when touched off here by a nose, a solid 3rd when too free at Chelmsford over 7f and then over a mile last time out when 7f suits better. An easy 7f around here is absolutely spot on, he's relatively high in the weights but can certainly win off this mark and should be bang there.
    2.45 Wincanton - 1pt e/w Punkawallah @ 28/1 Bet365
Has a bit to prove but has had excuses over fences and down in trip going chasing here I'd like to see him go forward and hopefully jump well. If doing so, could step up on recent efforts over trips too far.
    4.20 Lingfield - 1pt e/w Toolatetodelegate @ 15/2 Bet365
Yet another consistent type who is absolutely fine under these conditions and ran another sound race at Chelmsford last time - it's always tricky coming from off the pace at that venue and now back to Lingfield where he goes well off a lower mark, ought to be bang there at the finish.
    4.50 Lingfield - 1pt e/w Roundabout Magic @ 8/1 Bet365
