Longchamp 4.20

Zillione Sun.  15/2   Hills 4places.

Slightly up in grade from its last run at St Cloud although near the bottom of this 15 runner Handicap. Barzalona(always useful in big field handicaps) up again and hopefully will get a better passage than last time, although in spite of that only just pipped in the last strides finishing 3rd.

==================================================================================================

Had to wait until the 8.00 chelm for a winner.  Returned £17.58 + £1.20 N/R = £18.78, therefore £8 profit on singles.  Bal c/fwd = £181.37 (Bank £400)

A loss of £4 on the multiples means a c/fwd balance of £634.69

Five UK meetings tomorrow so a lot to look at

More to follow but initially quite sweet on All Hail Caesar at 8/1 (Bet365) in the 12.20 at Carlisle. First run after a break but has gone well fresh before and I'm sure has races in him off this mark. Won an all-weather bumper when last seen and has decent form on this sort of ground too. Can hit a flat spot in races which is some concern with an inexperienced jockey on board but this stiff track can help in that regard and think he goes close.

1.30 Lingfield - 1pt e/w Accomplice @ 13/2 Bet365

Strong finishing type who relishes this course and distance and only edges up the handicaps for its wins as only strikes the front late in the day. Consistent type who looks sure to be finishing well so long as it gets a clear passage so represents excellent each-way value here.

1.52 Carlisle - 2pts win You Name Him @ 5/1 Bet365

Novicey so far over hurdles but has shown ability behind some decent types and this stiff track ought to suit. Would like to see more use of him today as typically gets behind and his jumping puts him on the back foot. Finishes well though and with a more positive ride could put it all together today.

2.25 Lingfield - 2pts win Prince Rock @ 9/2 Bet365

Consistent type who's run well on all three starts this season when touched off here by a nose, a solid 3rd when too free at Chelmsford over 7f and then over a mile last time out when 7f suits better. An easy 7f around here is absolutely spot on, he's relatively high in the weights but can certainly win off this mark and should be bang there.

2.45 Wincanton - 1pt e/w Punkawallah @ 28/1 Bet365

Has a bit to prove but has had excuses over fences and down in trip going chasing here I'd like to see him go forward and hopefully jump well. If doing so, could step up on recent efforts over trips too far.

4.20 Lingfield - 1pt e/w Toolatetodelegate @ 15/2 Bet365

Yet another consistent type who is absolutely fine under these conditions and ran another sound race at Chelmsford last time - it's always tricky coming from off the pace at that venue and now back to Lingfield where he goes well off a lower mark, ought to be bang there at the finish.

4.50 Lingfield - 1pt e/w Roundabout Magic @ 8/1 Bet365

Loves these conditions and another prime candidate to make the first 3 here. Needs a bit of luck in running but if getting it, usually comes home powerfully and still has a bit of scope off this mark.

Also done e/w fivefold on the 5 shorter prices and thrown Punkawallah in to an optimistic e/w sixfold!

The opener at Wincanton looks weak, Deer Hunter wouldn't have to be very good on hurdles debut to win. Stable are in very decent form and although the 2 bumper runs aren't much to go on, looks worth a small interest. Was 10/3 last night and 5/2 now is pretty skinny but I just don't like many of the others. Songo could improve if settling, and I tried to make a case for Le Crunch who had a decent bumper effort and was too keen at Uttoxetter in a better looking race, but neither are that convincing.

Always outpaced ?
