    12.01 Southwell - 1pt e/w Navajo Dawn @ 8/1
All of its best form has come here with both career victories coming over course and distance and off higher marks than this. Was badly hampered at the start here on his last visit here which is always going to be tough to recover from at this venue, for all he stayed on to finish respectably. With more luck at the beginning of the contest, with him edging down the weights and those ahead of him that day sneaking up, I think he could go well at a decent price.
    12.25 Kelso - 1pt e/w Pass Rusher @ 12/1
Has bits and pieces of nice form including 2nd in a novice event when finishing a place ahead of a now 118-rated horse. A similar run here going handicapping off 105 would see him go close and his stamina has just been stretched over 2m4f the last twice, including on really testing ground at Hexham last time. The return to 2 miles will suit and I think he can outrun the odds if handling the conditions.
    12.31 Southwell - 1pt e/w Professor Galant @ 15/2
Looks ready for the return to the minimum trip here having pulled hard over 6f the last twice. Both efforts were decent however behind nice enough types and the saddle slipped last time as well. Definitely has the speed for 5f, has form around here and looks a big price now facing handicaps.
    1.46 Southwell - 1pt e/w Mister Freeze @ 12/1
Has been running okay lately including on turf where he's not as good and shaped with some credit at Lingfield last time, keeping on without threatening. His best form has come at Southwell however and is in decent enough heart to suggest he can threaten back at this venue. Was a c&d winner off 3lbs lower on his last visit and looks capable of getting involved at a double figure price.
    2.02 Kelso - 1pt e/w Morozov Cocktail @ 14/1
I think this one is interesting upped in trip today having shaped okay in a novice event last year and seemingly needing the run/finding the trip too sharp when returning over two miles when last seen. Has plenty of stamina in the pedigree to suggest this test will suit and still very unexposed.
    2.55 Southwell - 1pt e/w Milldean Felix @ 25/1
Hasn't run over a trip this short for a while but can race handy over 1m2f so I'm hoping the speedier test here won't completely ruin his chance. Usually runs a race from the front and his best form has come at this track. Understandably needed the run after over a year off last time out but still wasn't disgraced and at a big price now stripping fitter I'll chance it.

    All prices Bet365:
    11.45 Aintree - 1pt e/w Fugitif @ 20/1
Outsider of the party but interesting on its French form - especially its 3rd on his final start over there - the 1st and 2nd have also come over to be trained in the UK or Ireland with them rated 141 and 120 respectably so that's not bad form at all and he shaped well on his debut here over 2m4f, only fading late in the day. Should strip fitter now, down in trip and on ground which won't be an issue, looks capable of outrunning the odds.
    12.20 Aintree - 1pt e/w Looks Like Murt @ 7/1
Fairly consistent type who should be spot on for this after a couple of runs at Kelso this season. These conditions are absolutely spot on for him and he's off a winnable mark on form from last season. Shaped well last time and should get a nice pace to run at from off the pace today.
    12.55 Aintree - 1pt e/w Kateson @ 7/1
A combination of lacking match sharpness and the 3 mile trip looked to catch him out when last seen but those that prospered that day came from behind too and this one was up with the gallop throughout. Should be happier now with that under his belt and dropping back down to an ideal trip. Last time he ran under these conditions he was 2nd to Main Fact, who has since gone up the weights by more than 20lbs so that was a good run and can go well here.
    1.30 Aintree - 1pt e/w Joe Farrell @ 28/1
A lot of these look high in the weights to me and whilst this unique test could negate that as others may not be up to it, I think it's worth avoiding some of those off lofty marks. The favourite is a clear threat down the weights but I'm going to chance Joe Farrell at a big price. Was laboured last time and has his wellbeing to prove but didn't shape too badly on seasonal reappearance and he's down the weights as a result. I'm hoping this test fires him up a bit and that he can enjoy himself from a handy sit. He jumped soundly here in the Grand National a couple of years back before getting tired and he's a Scottish National winner so has experience in such races. If getting into a rhythm he could bounce back to form at a big price.
    3.15 Aintree - 1pt e/w Might Bite @ 12/1
Not as good as he used to be but ran some solid races last season and I thought he shaped well on seasonal reappearance when fading late on from the front. He often jumps left handed but I can see him going forward today, hopefully up the inside and I think he's more than capable still off this sort of mark.
    3.35 Sandown - 1pt e/w Galice Macalo @ 11/1
Favourite is the class act in here probably but isn't the easiest and if he pulls too hard on this ground he simply won't get home. I like the uncomplicated Galice Macalo who has done nothing wrong so far and is likely to bowl along handy here and try grind things out from the front. I think there's enough scope off this mark for another big run and at a double figure price I'll be surprised if not in contention towards the finish.

    12.00 Sedgefield - 1pt e/w Bollin Neil @ 10/1
Lowly on the flat but stays, should handle conditions no problem and ought to make a jumper (plenty of relatives have) so in a winnable race I thought he had sound place claims at the very least.
    12.35 Sedgefield - 1pt e/w Whiteoak Fleur @ 8/1
The favourite needs to progress again now climbing the weights quite quickly and I thought Whiteoak Fleur had a good chance here. Shaped well over 2m6f on seasonal reappearance when only fading late on and should strip fitter now with the drop back in trip a good move. Best form has come on decent enough ground so some of her runs last year weren't ideal and looks fairly handicapped.
    12.45 Sandown - 1pt e/w Call Me Vic @ 14/1
Market drift is a concern as he ran a cracker on seasonal reappearance at Cheltenham, travelling well before clouting 2 out. Was still only beaten 9 lengths and should come on for that with a breather in between that and this run helping recovery.
    12.55 Exeter - 1pt e/w Funky Sensation @ 16/1
Bred to be useful and won a point in good fashion when last seen. That was a long time ago now but Tom Symonds is going well and can ready them so still think this one is of plenty of interest at a healthy price.
    1.50 Sandown - 2pts win Alnadam @ 6/1
Ran well in hurdles races last year and ran a cracker on chasing debut at Carlisle when last seen. Was only narrowly denied by a thriving type who has bolted up again since and the pair were clear. Should come on for that too and I think he has a huge chance today.
    3.00 Sandown - 1pt e/w Farrants Way @ 8/1
Very unexposed and lightly raced but got the job done in good style when last seen over the extended 3 miles at Hereford. Stamina is his forte clearly and looks plenty more to come off a fair mark. Has an absence to overcome but I'm not too concerned about that, conditions will suit and he's related to some high quality types so keen on him today.

Stamina is his forte clearly and looks plenty more to come off a fair mark. Has an absence to overcome but I'm not too concerned about that, conditions will suit and he's related to some high quality types so keen on him today.

    12.45 Wincanton - 1pt e/w Cropley @ 14/1
Last couple of runs have been split by massive absences and showed less last time out than previously but after a huge absence of more than a year and over a trip of two miles, it was never likely to suit (stays 3m2f). Should be fitter now and is off a good mark going back up in trip to more suitable conditions. Has to prove his wellbeing but in an open race it's not impossible he can bounce back.
    1.22 Market Rasen - 1pt e/w Al Kherb @ 33/1
Market not sounding positive but this one has reasonable form in his back catalogue on both the flat and hurdles and conditions ought to suit today. Can be forgiven for his defeat after a lengthy absence last time and should strip fitter now. This isn't a strong race and even on its run at Newcastle last season on soft ground off 7lbs higher he'd have a chance so I'm chancing him today.
    1.37 Leicester - 1pt e/w Mill Race King @ 10/1
Winning pointer who quickly embarks on a chasing career having run in a handful of novice hurdles. Shaped with credit on all three starts with last time a pipe opener ahead of a chasing campaign. Ought to stay on his point win and pedigree and looks off a fair mark on novice hurdle form given he should be better over the larger obstacles.
    1.45 Wincanton - 1pt e/w Gulshanigans @ 25/1
Didn't learn much on seasonal reappearance after a long break last time on heavy ground - got tired but that's to be expected and should be happier now back on better ground and with the run under his belt. Typically consistent in previous years and well handicapped on that form so could make a better fist of things this afternoon.
    2.22 Market Rasen - 1pt e/w Linenhall @ 9/1
Jumping can sometimes let him down but he's right down the weights now and can be expected to improve from seasonal reappearance last time. Was running on bad ground at the back end of last season but his best form has come on a sound surface so now getting decent conditions and fitness back on side I think he can go well.
    2.37 Leicester - 1pt e/w Midnight Mary @ 20/1
Found things happening too quickly on hurdling debut over 2 miles around Fakenham last time but the front two are decent enough and this should be much more to her liking upped half a mile and on softer ground. Shaped as if stamina was her forte in bumpers and her dam stayed well over jumps so these conditions ought to bring out a bit more so well worth a go at a big price.
    3.37 Leicester - 1pt win Fleur De Seuil @ 7/1
Has been running well in all hurdle starts on these shores but has finished weakly on all starts. That said, they were all over further than this and the drop back in trip looks like a good move. Isn't bred to stay forever so down the weights and back down to the minimum distance looks a good move and soft ground ought to not inconvenience on its French form.

    2.00 Southwell - 1pt e/w George of Naunton @ 25/1
Shaped well on his debut in a bumper but was less good next time out. Was given time off afterwards however and resumed with a solid debut run over hurdles last time despite doing plenty wrong and looking in need of the outing. Should improve plenty now and at a big price I can see him outrunning his odds.
    2.10 Newcastle - 1pt e/w Karasheni @ 18/1
Is generally pretty poor but two best recent runs have come over c&d and is edging down the weights. Runs in a worse race too than last time and with 3 places on offer I think this one has a solid enough chance of making the frame.
    2.32 Southwell - 2pts win Brummie Boys @ 11/2
Looks very interesting upped to 3 miles here as I think there should be plenty more to come now his stamina is stretched further. Pedigree screams a stayer and has shaped that way so far when running sound races over shorter trips. On track evidence, the better ground can suit if anything and I think he's a huge player today.
    4.15 Newcastle - 1pt e/w Emulate Rose @ 11/1
Has been a bit in and out of form but won at Wolverhampton not too long back and also was a solid 3rd at Kempton off this mark recently. 7f on the all-weather suits and although not able to get involved at Wolverhampton last time, this straight track promises to suit and I think is interesting at an each-way price.
    4.45 Newcastle - 1pt e/w Dusk Art @ 18/1
Has run okay the last twice but doesn't stay 7f so I'm glad they return to 6f here as it was an unlucky runner up at Leicester when last seen over this trip. Looks a huge price back down in trip to me.
