Going well Harry. I guess the football bets are a pain if you're waiting to see if a player is starting or not.

Early thoughts are that Bournemouth could be worth backing on a +1.5 handicap. City should win but it might be tight, particularly if Bournemouth can score which wouldn't surprise me. Palace Swansea looks like a draw based on the poor start both teams have made to the season - one thing is certain and that's neither team will want to lose even at this early stage in the season. Huddersfield look a great price to continue their good run, particularly as Southampton haven't looked that convincing. West Ham could be worth a play away at Newcastle with the Geordies looking unsettled on and off the pitch and now that Chicarito has found his shooting boots. I'd say Watford are justified favourites at home to Brighton and they should be good for the win. The way that Man Utd are playing they'll beat Leicester, but even so I'd be tempted to back the Foxes on a plus. I certainly think they should be shorter than 10/1 based on how they've played so far.
As for Sunday's games, I expect Chelsea to kick on now after beating Spurs last time out. For all the talk of crisis, Burnley was just one game and despite that game and the criticism of the depth of Conte's squad I think it's worth remembering that they won the league last year despite using very few players. By comparision, Man City have a massive squad and an embarrassment of riches on their bench but that doesn't guarantee success. I think Chelsea will continue to be strong at home this season as they were last season, with Conte putting a premium on good defending and keeping things tight. That's always a platform for success no matter where you are in the league - just ask West Brom for example.
Talking of West Brom, I like their chances against Stoke. Despite the Potters win against Arsenal, I still think they are pretty toothless going forward and that's even more the case when they go away. West Brom are well organised, good defensively and always a threat from set pieces but at the same time not prolific so a 1-0 home win seems most likely to me. I have no idea who to back out of Liverpool Arsenal, but overs and/or BTTS seems a good play based on the defence and attack of both teams. Lastly, I think Tottenham will beat Burnley with something to spare so backing them to cover a handicap could be the way to go. This is an ideal opportunity for Spurs to start to put to bed the idea of a Wembley jinx against a Burnley side that are likely to continue to struggle on the road this season.

My next bet is two points on Rory McIlroy to win the USPGA Championship at 8.20 at Smarkets. He's won at this venue twice before and also holds the course record. His form is good with top five finishes in his last two starts so all things considered I'd say he's a justified favourite.

Probably need more than a hundred bets to see if this is working given the prices. As always best of luck.

Narrowly swerved what would have been a decent return from a couple of split stakes bets on the Celtic game yesterday, hopefully these two oblige to ensure I don't regret it.
Bets 11 and 12 are in the Women's Euros final. 1 point each on:
    >1.5 Holland women cards at 7/4 and >1.5 Denmark women cards at 17/20, both with 888
Having looked at this angle and all the various card markets for the game I've gone with these 2 on the basis that I can't see at least one team not earning the ref's disapproval on a couple of occasions. My starting point was 2-3 cards each at 17/10 and 5/4 with Hills. Obviously it's a no-brainer to favour 7/4 for >1.5 Dutch cards and I'll take the odds on price for the Danes to eliminate the small risk of them going >3. Honourable mention for 365's offering of 1.85 for >3 AH cards (a push if exactly 3). I considered including that in some way.

Wozniacki lost in the final. Carrying some sort of injury by all accounts but then so was her opponent. That's the trouble with longer-term bets in tennis - you can't legislate for injuries. Some work for me to do to get back into profit as I'm now 15 points down. At least it's going well for you Harry.

Great stuff Harry. I'm going to make my 'weekend' bet now and hope I don't tempt fate by saying it. I'm putting 10pts on Caroline Wozniacki to justify favouritism and win the WTA Tennis tournament in Bastad at 2.87 with Paddy Power. The Dane plays tomorrow in the quarter-final and is a strong favourite to win meaning that she should still be in the tournament come Saturday. It hasn't been an easy ride for her so far after two three-set victories, but she's generally quite reliable in minor tournaments like this and has won plenty of them in the past. She should make the final here at least where she will most likely face Garcia, a player who has never beaten her before although it's only fair to say they've never met on clay. I'd still back her to win though due to her greater experience of playing in finals and winning them.

Unlucky. I'm going early this week, with another of my split stakes attempts.
Bets 9 and 10 are 1 point each on England women to be shown the 1st card v Portugal at 4/1 and the last card at 16/5, both with either PP or BF
Going a full point each rather than split this time because I'm confident in the prices offering value. I'd make no card being shown around 13/1 which is broadly in line with the market. Portugal should clearly be favourites to receive the first, last or any given card, perhaps around an 8/11 shot. Skybet go just 1/2 which is too short for me but generous compared to Paddy's 1/6. For me, England should be 2/1 (each) at most to receive the first card or the last card so you can see why the above prices appeal (Skybet going just 13/8). Put another way, if you dutch the 2 prices you're getting odds against about something I think should be no more than 1/2.

Seriously though, 2017 has been sickening me over and over again. Look at Quiroz ffs - he was 7-6 2-0* up and had three break points to make it *3-0. And then he loses 7-6 3-6 1-6 and ruins the handicap bet. Too many of these freak occurrences this year.
@Waggy_2 As I've already stated, I think that there is, especially in live betting, which is what you should go for if your ambition is to make a living out of it (not my case). I still believe that this is just a long downswing with very little luck going my way, as that's what my experience tells me. I've had losing seasons before, I've had winning seasons before, you can't win them all. Are there better sports for betting if all you want is profit? Most likely. Is it possible to win money in tennis? Yes, but I don't believe that you should be trying to do so if you don't enjoy following the game.
