Late to the party this week, a couple of plays in the early games.

(Both bets 1 point stake in "old money"; 20 points reflect the staking plan for all bets that I'm using this year.

Met Office currently says 90% chance of heavy rain at Leicester during the match v Bath I can foresee plenty of Bath forward pressure near the Leicester line and perhaps a try or two from their forwards. Have gone with the obvious one and bought Zach Mercer try minutes at 10. The 9/1 and 10/1 about his fellow back row forwards, Sam Underhill and Toby Faletau, is tempting. Also considered hooker, Tom Dunn, but best priced 3/1 a bit skinny for my liking.

A bit of good fortune to start the New Year's fixed odds betting with 3 winners from 10 bets (Kane and Son assists at 13/5 each and 25/1 for the Saiss headed goal). The bet on Gross was void as he didn't feature; not sure how I managed to back him as the line ups had been announced when I placed the bets!

Always a risk you can follow some things over a cliff but I'm going to keep the faith a while longer!

I've also used a 1 point freebie that's about to expire on Kane 1st goal, last goal and assist at 66/1. Better than letting it go to waste!

As a former scrum half (for Milverton Street Infants XV?) may I suggest over 1.5 cards at 12/5 (Hills) in this evening's encounter between Cardiff Blues and Ospreys. The referee is Ben Whitehouse who does not  usually hesitate to adopt the letter of the law. The spread option with a buy of bookings at 15 (SX) also has some appeal.

At the moment, the year is ending as a summary for the entire past 12 months! Hopefully, Salah can come good in the final 20 minutes!

Well, my year end review suggests the one thing I should do is stop backing (lays, buys and sells were all profitable but fixed odds back bets lost money). That said, anytime goalscorer bets finished in profit despite a poor December.
Had the tenner Fred allow me on Salah at evens in tonight's game, think it's fair to say he's a genuine odds on shot to score against Newcastle. I also think Wilson to assist a goal is overpriced at 14/1 with PP. The mug/optimist in me can't resist a quid on 2+ assists at 200/1 with Sky Bet. 
Inclined to back Firmino but was hoping for a slightly better price, will take a look round.

Chelsea v Villa: On Hudson-Odoi to score at 5 on BF and Mount goal from outside the box at 16s (Hills, Paddy, 888) having not spotted the 18/1 with Skybet.

What a way to end the year. Worst week of 2020 - W0 L4 D1.

Hey @ProfessorMJ @PercyP @Valiant Thor et al I can't help thinking we've taken social isolation a little too far in here by all sticking to our individual threads. A bit late for this season but I think a weekly thread where anyone interested can see all our NFL picks in a "one stop shop" makes a bit of sense. If necessary we could maintain sperate threads for keeping tally etc. though I'd probably just do it in the weekly threads with the benefit of hindsight. It's probably off-putting for anyone just browsing to have to visit multiple threads. I'll have a go at collating something for the rest of this season, feel free to add your picks (or a link to your own thread). Happy Christmas from the forum's least expert NFL punter.
