I disagree. Its like a group of people sat around in the bookies having a civilised conversation about the bets they've had and the bets their going to have next and someone coming in with a megaphone and shouting over the top of them.
Negative to the forum? That's a "yes" from me. Nothing to offer? Clearly not the case, plenty of value in the actual race reading. Just needs to dial the ego down a notch or two.

I’m confused with this thread ,, Your selecting up to 4 horses a race ,most of the time making a loss ,,then saying “there’s another winner “ what’s the point

The point is simple. None of us are interested in how many winners anyone else has posted. Not as a bare metric devoid of any context.
It begs the obvious questions; from how many selections (strike rate) and what was the return (profit or loss).
Nobody’s obliged to keep those records but if you’re going to insist on quoting numbers then you’re going to get asked to quote the ones that matter, the ones that anyone gives a flying one about.
Otherwise it ends up becoming a source of friction, as we seem to be about to find out.

I'd rather have just 1 winner that makes a profit than 43 winners that made a loss

Anybody can select 42 winners in eleven days, just pick the favourite, there's been 123 of them that have won

Same as it was before I’m not claiming massive profits or wins at unobtainable odds. I’ve made it very clear I’m  operating at a loss. I’ll land  a tricast or a treble then start talking profits I’m ok with what I’m about. We are not all in the game to win. I believe I’ll get where I’m going and that’s good enough for me.
I give insights into racing and plenty of winners and at the moment that is what I’m about.

Interesting reading Sam, perhaps you could expand on the subject of free energy.
Hopefully you will soon transform winners into profits. If I could offer you some advice it would be.
    1. Take advantage of bookmakers offers, thousands can be made before you get shut down.
    2. Take the early prices of BOG bookmakers.
    3. If you bet at the off take BSP not ISP.
    Good luck !

Some horses can take more runs ....some all weather horses can run every 2 weeks and hold form quite well but the higher grade flat horses have tougher races so don't hold form past the point of the arc .....I've learnt by past mistake ..profits seem to tumble in Oct Nov because a lot of horses just won't run anywhere near their best .....some will of course ...probably the lighter raced ones as you say but unless a particular race grabs me it's time to start panning for gold in The all weather pit
I'm looking forward to the all weather season though  this year...more so than normal ... ....I've upgraded the ratings for all weather so it should provide an lot of fun now ......I'm really hoping a few good wins are forthcoming 😂......
Like ...destined ..today ....even if only 1 in 6 go on to win ...if you get 14/1 each time your gonna be laffin in the long run ...it just ramps up the excitement and makes me wanna try harder 😀

Lots of negatives for me continuous,
1 O'brien's record in the arc.
    2 hard race at donny
    3 price is shocking
4 wrong trip doesn't seem to have the speed to keep up with this lot.
5 15L to find with ace impact.
6 hasn't beaten anything of note.
7 supplementary entries are an after thought (O'Brien knows his horses he never thought it was good enough 3/6 months ago so why the change of mind?)

Nine races covered by ITV today and here’s my preview of the nine.   Ayr 1.15 Richard Spencer’s seven year old Revich has a good record in this race having won it in 2021 from a 3lb lower handicap and was third last year off of the same mark as he races off of today. He comes here in good form having run well at Chester earlier this month despite being drawn poorly. Hollie Doyle comes in for the ride in this ten runner 1M class handicap and looks poised to run a big race.   REVICH 1 point each way @ 11/2 William Hill 1/5th 123   Newbury 1.30 Just the five sprinters line up for this Group 3 Dubai International Airport World Trophy Stakes run over 5F. The current favourite is the William Haggas trained Sense Of Duty who is returning from an absence of 455 days and has never raced on ground this testing. He has to be taken on and maybe today’s the day for Andrew Balding’s Nymphadora who seems to relish the mud. Oisin Murphy is on board for his old guvnor and can take the opener at Newbury today.   NYMPHADORA 1 point win @ 5/1 William Hill   Ayr 1.50 With My Prospero an eleventh hour defection only seven line up for the Doonside Cup. Amy Murthy’s Pride Of America has conditions to suit and the genuine front runner can make all and see off his biggest danger in Royal Rhyme who like the selection will love the cut in the ground.   PRIDE OF AMERICA 1 point win @ 10/3 BetVictor 1/5th 123   Newbury 2.05 A tricky seven runner class 2 handicap which may fall to Ian Williams’s Oneforthegutter who put up a career best last week in the Mallard Handicap at Doncaster on the softest ground that he’s ever encountered when going down by a short head to Imaginary Day. This race looks no better and off of just a one pound higher mark can go one better under Richard Kingscote. Look for the firms who are paying three places.   ONEFORTHEGUTTER 1 point each way  @ 7/1 Coral 1/5th 123   Ayr 2.25 The first of the two big sprint handicaps is the Ayr Silver Cup run over 6F with a maximum field of 25. The two that stand out from a point of handicapping are Michael Herrington’s Rathbone and Iain Jardine’s Jump The Gun. They actually met in an apprentice handicap at Doncaster last week and with Conor Planas now able to claim his 3lb its the former that makes the most appeal and can be backed each way with additional places.   RATHBONE 1 point each way @ 15/2 Betfred 1/5th 123456   Newbury 2.40 The testing ground will be very much a factor here with the likes of Totnes and Le Mans unproven on such a slow surface. Balance Play may have found the fast ground at York against him and is worth another chance to bounce back to form on this much slower surface. Course winner Mustazeed can also run well and looks one of the dangers to the selection.   BALANCE PLAY 1 point win @ 7/2 BetVictor   Ayr 3.00 Nine have declared for the Group 3 Fifth Of Clyde Stakes for two year old fillies run over 6F and although short enough in the betting it’s hard to oppose the Owen Burrows trained Shadwell Stud owned Raqiya. She’s looked useful in winning at Salisbury and Haydock this autumn and can take this step up in class in her stride with the owners retained jockey Jim Crowley up here to ride.   RAQIYA 1 point win @ 11/8 William Hill   Newbury 3.15 Eight two year olds line up for the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes with the officially highest rated being George Scott’s Seven Questions who has already shown his liking for soft ground when winning at Ripon in August. Just touched off in the Sirenia Stakes at Kempton last time he can go one better now back on easy ground with Callum Shepherd doing the steering.   SEVEN QUESTIONS 1 point win @ 7/2 bet365   Ayr 3.35 The meeting’s feature race is the 6F Ayr Gold Cup run over 6F with a maximum field of 25. Julie Camacho has had a terrific season with her top sprinter Shaquille and appears to have a decent chance here with her five year old Significantly who went down in a bobbing finish by a short head to Annaf last Saturday at Doncaster in the Portland Handicap and reappears off of the same handicap mark. Drawn in the middle he will be ridden by Joe Fanning and a big run is expected in this famous old sprint handicap.   SIGNIFICANTLY 1 point each way @ 10/1 bet365 1/5th 123456

I would be nowhere near, i won last month and would have won July if i hadn't broken my own rule and gone ew on my 66/1 winner. which just shows we can all be dick heads now and again not learning my lesson i went ew on a 100/1 shot the other day but luckily for my peace of mind it was unplaced. just looked at most winner table and i would be close on that.

There is a mathematical edge with backing each way in extra place races. Also horses are priced on their win chances, some horses rarely win but are often placed.

In reality the edge of this bet is where the horse finishes 5th or 6th as normally this would result in a loss.
As an example my returns over the last 2 flat seasons in 6 place races is 101 points profit from 863 selections, a very healthy 12% return. There can be up to 21 selections in a race, although I would only back 6. Unfortunately for me most of these bets were with BET365 who I can no longer bet with.
The returns in 5 place races is lower with 45 points profit from 1,108 selections, a 4% return.
If I use a theoretical example of a 21 runner race where all the horses have an equal chance (20/1) then backing the winner will give a 0% return, standard EW (4 places) a loss of -0.5%, 5 places a profit of 2% and 6 places a profit of 4.5%.

Absolutely correct  @ in play race reader.
It is a lack of focus on my part and one which I hope to put right. It is better to have a 6/4 winner with the right money on than 12 losers or more and a couple of decent winners. It will pay much more. Fingers crossed selections in September will reflect that.
