At least I won something. Pity that Bond Boy didn't win at my price of 13.0. My shortest priced selection won which yielded a net profit of 2.74. A bit like backing an odds on shot. Had Bond Boy won it would have been like backing an odds against selection. Ho, hum! My MTD now -35.89 and YTD is -147.96

I don't think I could have got this more wrong if I tried. I missed putting Faustus in as a 1 pt bet. It had drifted to 9/2 from 7/2 overnight which just goes to show that drifters do win. However, the market played its usual tricks and it ended up 3/1 joint favourite. I did not back Bless Him as its price was too short for me at less than 5/2. In future, I will not trade any race where I can't get at least 5/2 about the favourite. Lesson learned, money burned. Lost 14 points today so - 38.63 MTD and - 150.70 YTD

RESULTS UPDATE
Quite interesting day. Two winners meant my loss was restricted to 4.43 pts. The Seven Brothers bet was the result of the favourite defecting and the horse coming in range of 9/1 from the bookies. Wandrin Star ran well without winning. I missed out in that 3.55 at Ascot because Elegant Escape creeped into the bookie prices after 10 am showing up as 8/1 and 17/2. this beat Wandrin star by 1.5 lengths and its price was cropped to 4/1 SP. No selections in the Trixie won and I had a blank day on my outsider bets. My MTD is -24.63 & YTD is -136.70
It is quite exciting to watch a race when backing up to 4 selections. As I need to choose more open races I probably won't be able to maintain a high win rate by selecting those horses that have been quoted as 9/1 or less by the bookies either at night time or after 10 am in the morning. This is because price movements mean that whereas I may have started with four selections at quoted prices of 9/1 or less by the time all price movements play out I can end up with 6 or more selections that were originally 9/1 or less and and now I have to add 2 or more selections under the criteria. I can either choose not to place a bet or whittle down the 6 to 4 by checking to see which ones are a better bet and dismissing 2 from the list.

No luck with my Trixie but my multiple singles bets were OK. Not enough to make a profit with my other singles bets but promising nonetheless. The overall loss today was 4.03 points. My MTD is - 20.20 & YTD is - 132.27

RESULTS UPDATE
Geromino won (my nap) but Judex Lefouu ran a shocker with the trainer offering no explanation and the vet saying it suffered with atrial fibrillation. I can't say that my heart was beating any faster with that performance. My forecast bets did no good either, I even got it wrong with 3 runners! Luckily Pimlico Point won for me so my loss on the day was 3.25 points. MTD = 16.17 YTD - 128.24
I'm off to London again tomorrow to help my sister. She moved into a flat with no gas meter and I need to be there as I can't rely on my sister staying in. Apparently, a lot of people are now having their gas meters removed to avoid paying the "daily charge" by the energy suppliers. Whilst I recognise the plight of poor people I don't think that it should be allowed for people to have their gas meters removed. Better to scrap the daily charge and incorporate this into the unit charge I say.
My wife returns home from a care home on Tuesday. She broke her ankle in September and is still unable to walk. She will need 24/7 care when she comes home but I am hoping to make time for my horse racing hobby in between helping her with her care needs.
