Not run yet, suffered a cast in his box the other week just getting back to cantering. Due for renewal at 30th November so any relinquished shares would be available 5/6th December. Hoping for a run before then.

    1.10 Goodwood - 1pt win Chamade @ 16/1 Bet365
Clearly the favourite has a chance but to take horses at 11/8 I'd like a bit more of a guarantee on trip and conditions so I'll swerve. Ran very well at Ascot but was keen so going up an extra couple of furlongs poses some questions, for all he saw it out well over a mile and should stay on pedigree. Also has a high knee action which suits soft ground as it was that day and has yet to race on faster than good to soft, so with those two slight question marks I'm going to take on with Chamade. Still unexposed but looks reasonably progressive, running respectably in hot races so far this year. Weakened late on in the Berlin Tango race at Kempton which was the key to a lot of Royal Ascot form through the likes of Pyledriver and then ran even better at Newbury last time in a race that could barely have worked out better. Chamade was 3rd of 7 with the horses in and all of those who have run since going well to see them get ratings of 105, 103, 102 and 104. Chamade goes handicapping off 93 today and I think the track will suit and there's not too many who want to go forward today so I think is capable of a big run from close to the pace.
    1.45 Goodwood - 2pts win Smart Champion @ 8/1 Bet365
Obviously mentioned this one a few times this week already and got bigger prices yesterday - backed him at Ascot when running a huge race from behind under similar conditions to today, didn't back that up at Newcastle but that came quickly after a hard race at Ascot and he made a big move on the very wide outside turning in which used up any petrol he had. Expect much better today and we know he stays extremely well so represents a good bet.
    2.15 Goodwood - 1pt win Mambo Nights @ 9/1 Bet365
Competitive race but this one ran in good races as a 2yo and has progressed well at 3 upped to middle distances. Readily won first time up this season and then easily backed that up last time, giving plenty of weight away in a small field and making all to score. Had the run of the race there but on formlines would hold the shorter priced A Star Above if taking results literally and is well drawn to get out and a handy position - will enjoy the track and can continue his progression today.
    2.45 Goodwood - 2pts win Significantly @ 9/2 Bet365
Shaped very well on debut when touched off by Muker at Newcastle - that one franked that form at Royal Ascot and Significantly has twice gone well since, but has shaped both times like an easy 5f would suit this strong travelling type who just got chinned late on over 6f at Doncaster and then the stiff 5f at Sandown. The form reads well, conditions are spot on and should go well.
    3.15 Goodwood - 2pts win Mohaather @ 3/1 Bet365
I'm just not totally sold by the 3yos this year so I'm really keen on Mohaather who was seriously impressive last time after having a nightmare run at Royal Ascot. Obviously Circus Maximus technically holds him on that form but we'll never know what would have happened and it benefited to be on the front end in the Queen Anne. Pretty much all of Mohaather's other form makes him a strong candidate for this with the exception perhaps of one run on heavy but conditions suit and I think he can land this competitive renewal.
    4.20 Goodwood - 1pt win Verboten @ 10/1 Bet365
Flopped on soft ground at Ascot but I think you can forgive that and has some form in the book to give him a good chance here. Was a big eyecatcher at Lingfield two starts back, coming from a mile behind to stay on powerfully late on whilst still looking quite green. Should know more now and with conditions back in his favour and a strong pace to run at, should be able to put in a much better effort this afternoon.

Thanks, it sort of worked out exactly as I thought it might. Went out to 20/1 in running round the bottom bend, I thought I’d got it wrong at that point. Total novice at this really, normally don’t look at small fields like to back each way at longer odds. I looked at BHA website that morning to see there was an extra furlong to run than the stated distance, hadn’t realised it could go up that much. Anyway nice to get it right.

Thanks mate, appreciated, thought i'd blew it with a week to go.
Lucky i made De Bruyne captain on the last day, i knew he needed 1 assist to equal the record so was bound to play.
Gary was running the Fantasy thread but it fizzled out after the lockdown I think.
I'm usually crap at these things.
    Just for the record:

Not exactly researched this great and wasn’t going to bother but the 3.30 at MR piqued my interest anyway going with the Boola Bee taking on the odds on fav and Net Love. Not sure but the extra distance over and above the stated distance (rails moved) and the weather forecast means I would want one that stays the distance on the going (my assessment at off time) and enough doubt about Black Anthem over that criteria and Net Love brought down and going I Think is enough of a negative. So 1pt win Only 6 runners other wise would be each way. Currently 7/1 with b365

My Friend Stan ran a good race to finish 2nd, got 9 lengths closer than last week, but guess that means handicap mark will go up from 72 this week, does that mean he can’t take advantage unless he now gets a quick entry somewhere which probably won’t happen. Still like to see him in a proper 6f race. Does seem to lose it after the furlong to go pole, as most horses do who don’t win!!!

Alley Cat Glover reacted to Darran in National League Play-offs
The first weekend of action in the play-offs sees what the National League like to call the eliminators. The National League play-offs will be live on BT Sport whilst the North and South games will be on a pay per view stream should you wish to watch them.
Boreham Wood v Halifax (Friday night 7pm)
A couple of seasons ago Boreham Wood upset the odds by getting to the final of the play-offs and I have a feeling that they might be capable of doing it again. Tonight they announced their 20 man squad for the play-offs and there is plenty to like about it. All the players who played in their last league game feature and they look really strong up front. Luke Garrard has done a hell of job with them this season and they look a good side. Halifax only have 3 strikers coming into the play-offs and losing Devante Rodney was a huge blow to their chances. I think Halifax are probably slightly fortunate to be in the play-offs as well as they were losing their form and they certainly benefited from having an amazing start to the season. I obviously would carry more confidence if it was a normal play-offs, but the 11/10 with William Hill is an attractive price.
    Altrincham v Chester (Sunday 1.30pm)
Fair play to the Chester players who are playing for nothing to help the club afford to take part in the play-offs, but I think it could well be for nothing. They have suffered from losing players including their star striker who decided to go to Gloucester City instead! I was hoping that we should see odds against about Altrincham because they looked on paper to be the best bet of the first round of fixtures and low and behold we can get 13/10 with William Hill and as I write no one is odds against. Altrincham ended the season in good form and they have goals in them as well as being pretty solid at the back. On paper they are certainly the stronger team and hopefully they can prove it on the pitch.
    Slough v Dartford (Sunday 1.30pm)
Going to have to try and watch two games at the same time as both bets in the Step 2 play-offs frustratingly kick off at the same time. This one is pretty self explanatory given I think Dartford can win promotion. Slough were in pretty awful form when the league stopped and as I mention in my outright preview Dartford have been superb since Steve King took over and are value for more points than they ended with in my view. 12/5 with William Hill is way too big in my view.
Boreham Wood 1pt @ 11/10 with William Hill
    Altrincham 2pts @ 13/10 with William Hill
    Dartford 1pt @ 12/5 with William Hill

The Aussie action in Melbourne and Sydney this week comes from Caulfield and Rosehill respectively and I have bets in 3 races from each venue.
    Caulfield R4 (4.35am)
Ballet Master is the pick here as I like the form of his win at Randwick last time. The horse he beat Bandersnatch also runs tomorrow at Rosehill and I think he will win tomorrow although won't be tipping him up as he is too short a price. With more rain forecast if the track gets into the heavy range then we know that he handles it which would be a concern for some of his main rivals here.
Ballet Master @ 7/1 with Betfair
    Caulfield R7 (6.35am)
The feature race on the card and if it does get into the heavy range then Jungle Edge will be a big danger, but for me Viridine can beat him anyway. He finished 1 place in front of Jungle Edge in the June Stakes which was a strong race. He followed that up with a win at Randwick and looked good in doing so as well. That was in a Heavy 9 so really testing ground wont bother him. I think he will take a sit behind Jungle Edge and then pounce in the home straight.
    Viridine @ 6/4 with Bet365
    Caulfield R8 (7.10m)
Knowles looks over priced here at double figures. She ran really well last time at Moonee Valley against the track bias and she was still in last place at the 400m marker. Her final 200m was only beaten by the winner. She ran really well over course and distance back in April on a Heavy 8 as well and a repeat of either of those efforts will see her go close. The concern is the draw as she is in 16 and will likely be ridden for luck again. Still at the price I am happy to take a chance.
Knowles e/w @ 14/1 with William Hill (4 places only 3 places in Australia as it stands) N/R
    Rosehill R2 (3.10am)
Given I was going to put up New Arrangement last week when he was a non-runner you would think I would be putting it up here, but there are a couple I prefer. My Swashbuckler is another to come from Europe having been trained in France. I thought he ran a huge race on his 2nd start in Australia at Randwick last time. At the 400m he was in 12th and didn't get into the clear until 350m out. Once in the clear he finished off the race well to finish 3rd. That was over 1600m and he now goes up to 2000m which will be ideal. He looks to have a cracking chance. I am also going to back Korcho who was trained by Hughie Morrison and a year ago ran a really good 2nd at the July meeting over the same trip as today. He's had two starts in Australia and he was given a bit of a quiet ride first up before finding all sorts of trouble at Randwick last time. On his UK form I think he has a real chance in this and better ground is going to help as well.
Fulmina is a warm favourite after an impressive win last time and is clearly a danger, but for me the value is elsewhere.
My Swashbuckler @ 5/1 with everyone
    Korcho e/w @ 18/1 with Betfrred
    Rosehill R7 (6.15am)
I was on Trumbull last time when he finally decided to leave the stalls at the right time and he duly scored. If he starts like that again I think he has a good chance of following up because he is clearly in flying form this prep. The previous start he finished 2nd and Noble Boy was back in 3rd. I am adding him to the bets as well because he raced on the slower part of the track that day so you can upgrade his level of performance. Clearly on that effort those two aren't going to be far from each other.
    Trumbull @ 14/5 with Bet365
    Noble Boy @ 5/1 with Bet365
    Rosehill R8 (6.55am)
Kordia could be hard to beat here, but I think the value is elsewhere in the shape of Inanup. I really liked his 1st up run when he was 2nd to the very progressive Adelong. He came from the back that day and had to come the widest of all. He had good pieces of form last prep as well and with a better draw the hope is he can sit a bit closer to the pace than he was able to last time when he was drawn out wide. He should also come on for that run as well and he is at a price we can back him e/w.
Inanup e/w @ 7/1 with William Hill and Betfred

I would agree, broke from the stalls better and looked like jockey/horse was eager to get to the rail which might have been done a bit quick and then didn’t settle. Did look as though 7f would be his limit and 6f might be his distance in the future, might get dropped a bit with the distances which will help. Be interesting what is next. Trainer will be learning about him too. Should be about right next time I would have thought.

Firstly thank you to Billyhills for all the hard work running the competition. You are to blame for me even bothering to enter this competition. I was a bit of a gambler before joining this site. I like to think I have learnt from reading a lot of the various posts. I don’t do methods or ratings, I would not have the time or patience. There are so many really good people on here, read and analyse and anything is possible. I have really enjoyed this week before today!

1st winner was down to Cable Guy ( Owners Group horse I have a hair on - Billy your fault again) just joined Charlie Fellows this week, dropping in trip, had to have him. Now how did I pick a 150-1 winner! I just watched his first race back last night and thought he was a bit unlucky, got knocked about a bit by other horses, got tired possibly and given a good ride by the jockey, who was back on today. He was not meant to be 150-1, I think he was about 50-1 last night.

Apologies Rupert, I enjoy reading your posts and I have pinched a couple of winners off you this week along side those selected by Richard-Westwood who never fails to find value.
I suppose I will have to get ready for Goodwood now! I might even have to post myself now but be warned I’m no expert.

I suppose I will have to get ready for Goodwood now! I might even have to post myself now but be warned I’m no expert.
Once more thanks to everyone who took part and who contributes to this site.

Alley Cat Glover got a reaction from Bathtime For Rupert in Royal Ascot Competition - FINAL Leaderboard
