BBOTD - Wed 28th April

Recommended Posts

3.55 Ascot ELECTROLYSER was handed a poor draw in the Cesarewitch on his final run in 2009 so I am willing to overlook his lowly placing that day at Newmarket. Quite often last season he shaped as if two miles may be his optimum trip and it was over this course and distance that he won in September. I think he can make the leap in class required here as Askar Tau, although the class act in the race, is vulnerable when fresh. 10/1 Bet 365 0.5 pt EW.

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April 3:20 Ascot - Cityscape If she runs like she did in the Spring Cup under top weight then she should take all the beating. Previously napped this one for the Spring Cup i think. Ryan Moore get the ride this time and should only increase Cityscapes chances of winning this. Charltons only runner at Ascot tomorrow so hopefully he's there to do a job. Has came 2nd in a Group Two before, Ran behind Sea The Stars in a Group One and pulled up sore after that, possible reason for the poor run that time. By far the class horse of the race and should be well able to beat these if on form.

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April 3.30 Pontefract Wisemans Diamond EW Last win was over todays course and distance on good to firm back in September. Went up 6lbs for that win and is 5lbs higher today but the last two runs have been on ground that does not suit. Gets the fast ground today and if showing any improvement at all could go close at a decent price.

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April 910kemp Arrivederla win 17/2 vc Unexposed 4yo filly last seen in June09; 2 wins from only 4 career runs. Something obviously went wrong but not sent to the paddocks and could be Listed class. Goes well fresh as third by 1.5L on debut on poly. Hughes 3 wins from 6 rides for Harry Dunlop in last year. Likely to be better over a mile nto but if trained on and fully wound up likely to be to good for these. Arrivederla is goodbye in Italian so lets hope she says this to the other horses and not to our money!

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April 550 Kelso: Al Qeddaaf (8/11 Bet 365, VCBet bog) Cant fancy anything at a price today so will go with Al Qeddaaff to get off the mark at Kelso in the novce hurdle, ran a blinder at Aintree behind Orsippus and before that the second to Bothy reads well in a race like this. Cant see any dangers as the market rival Saviero was well beaten in an easier race last time so the 8/11 looks value to me, should be 4/7 in my book.

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April 15:55 - Askar Tau @ 4/1 VCBet (bog) A winner of two group 2 races last season, two times a distance winner, has previously won on the going described as 'good' three times. Stable has started the season ok and are mob handed here, hopefully get's the race run to suit, he may gallop on the best.

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April 4.30 Ascot: Iver Bridge Lad 0.5pts e/w @ 11/1 Victor Chandler BOG Beaten a quarter of a length in the Cornwallis by today's fave Our Jonathon over 5f at this course in October. Followed that run up with a running on 4th over 7f in the Horris Hill at Newbury at end of October when not getting a clear run at a crucial stage of the race - was entitled to finish a lot closer. Ran as if in need of it on reappearance in April in a listed handicap when far too keen to do itself justice. If straight after that run, then entitled to get very close to the favourite Our Jonathon here on 4lbs better terms yet at 5 times the price - value!

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April Kempton 6:05. Athenian Garden 1 point LAY (5/4 Victor Chandler) This opener at Kempton, a 3-y-o Classified Stakes, is much more competitive than the market suggests. A number of these have shown some sort of form that they might improve on. The selection is well bred, and on her reappearance in a maiden showed some signs of improvement when taking the lead a furlong out, before weakening to finish 4th. That was over 1m, so the theory is that today's 7f should be ideal. Maybe. But it's equally possible she hasn't the heart for a battle We don't know for a fact that she'll take to the AW surface. And with some reasonably promosing opponents I feel there is value in taking her on at such a low price

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April Kempton 6 35pm Wajanaat 1pt lay Not a lot to go on in this race but 2 horses at good odds stand for me in a race of maybes ,the lay having only 1 run to date was that day backed in from 4/1 to 13/8 Jf before the off and the market really got behind this horse but only came 4th and imv was well beaten The market maybe sees a bit more in this horse today but imv will find things hard as at least 4 others have the beating of this lay and 2 of the 4 have a great chance to win this race at good odds, laying Goodluck Whatever You Bet

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April 2:10 Ascot - Zebedee - Back Market speaking strongly in his favour all morning. Won nicley enough on debut and looked like he'd come on a world for the run. Stable and jockey in oustanding form at the moment, and should be rather unbeatable here. Looks a penalty kick and fairly bombproof selection in my opinion, hence the price 1pt win @ 4/11 Victor Chandler BOG

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April 15:55 Ascot Askar Tau seems to be the class act of the race having won twice in Group 2 races as a 4 year old. Once at York over the distance and once at Doncaster over 2 furlongs further. Two runs in group 1 races at Longchamp since where he was well beat both times but back in the UK and back down to a group 3 race could see him back in the winners enclosure. Three make the step up to Group company for the first time today, they are Aajel, Yes Mr President and Electrolyser and to be honest it is hard to ingore any of these. Aajel is lightly raced so more can be expected from him on his reappearance, Yes Mr President bolted up in handicap company LTO and Electrolyser has won at Listed level and won over this course and distance. Akmal is another danger who has also won at group level (Group 3 race at Newmarket over the trip) so this potentially could be a cracking contest. Marcus Tregoning is in great form and he saddles three in the race but Askar Tau looks to be the first string judging by the market and with Ryan Moore on board who has won on the horse twice previously. The horse is conceeding weight to all the others but I feel his class can prevail here. Win Askar Tau @ 4/1 (Stan James - BOG)

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April Kempton 21.10 Gazboolou 1 pt W Blue Square 26.00 Bottom weight with big difference with the others, thanks to Kieren Fox's 5 lbs and 6 lbs raiting from the upper rated horse. Gazboolou showed not so bad form in last two starts, scoring a second place in Kempton with 9 more lbs. The horse is CD winner and had another nice wins and places in Kempton. GL

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April grenoli 305 south. needs to run his race but i think he will and the trip and grounds no problem. has a weight to go close off of and with others needing to answer a few questions, he looks solid to run a big race.

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April NASRI 3.20 Ascot. 1 point win. The outsider of 4, and on bare form alone, that's not a surprise. However, it's a small field and it could/should all come down to tactics. I feel we'll benefit from how the race will pan out and Jamie Spencer looks the right man for the job. Shouldn't be too far away.

Re: BBOTD - Wed 28th April 9.10 Kempton Jake the snake is in absolute sparkling form currently and could be hard to beat in his search for a hatrick, he never wins by too much and this helps protect his handicap mark up just 3lb for latest winner and certainly looks well in on that form although never won off a mark this high no reason to think he couldnt make another step forward aslong as gaps appear in this slightly bigger field. 1pt win jake the snake 13/2 vcbet bog
