Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 Tomorrows bets: 3.10 Yarmouth Tell Halaf scores extremely highly in the consistency basis this year having scored at lingfield in May has since run some good solid placed efforts unfortunately handicapper not taking any chances with this progressive sort by putting him up 2lb straight away for latest 3rd at lingfield when getting an abmismal run through and no chance whatsoever this race is weak and certainly could go to this progressive useful sort. 1pt win tell halaf 3.00 Haydock This is a real hot race with several in form sorts in the race and several out of form sorts that are very well treated and could easily bounce back Northen Dare is the one that most interests me in that camp but I would have liked to see some recent form to go with his plummeting mark and first time blinkers and therefore im gonna side with an inform consistent sort in Legal Eagle who won his penultimate start off a 3lb lower mark and was a good second to the ever inconsistent but inform Cornus last time out with 3rd, 5th and 9th all winning since and that looks solid form and could be hard to beat off the same mark especially if getting to the front with spencer on board who has ridden some smart rides from the front recently! 0.5pt e/w legal eagle 3.30 Haydock Reel Buddy Star has to be taken on again today turning out 2days after latest win and runs under a 12lb penalty and is very unlikely to get an easy lead like he has got last twice with that and lot of racing in short spell leaves him vulnerable in my opinion, but the one that could benefit from the strong pace likely with ginger jack, leciele, edzeyaad and possible rumool all prominent runners along with reel buddy, which could set this up for a finisher and Follow The Flag has really been flying the flag for the Mccabe yard this season with a couple of valuable wins and places in valuable competitive handicaps, 2nd to arizona john last time out gets to run off same mark today and Cannon in the saddle again and gets on well with this sometime awkward ride! 0.5pt e/w follow the flag 8/1 bet365 5.00 Haydock Lady Eclair has showed a likeable attitude on her most recent starts and is only 5lb higher under a penalty off a revised mark for recent game win over 2m, she is worth more than the winning margin having got rather alone in front last time out but battled on well, step back in trip looks no issue and further progression more than likely to this lightly raced well bred filly. 1pt win lady eclair 8.10 Newbury Meehan's yard are starting to shape a little better recently with a couple of wins over the past few days and several placed efforts, he runs the unexposed island home, hard to assess his french form but his 5th off a 1lb higher mark was eye catching was short of room and perhaps cost some momentum and therefore could have finished closer to the winner and should come on for the run! 0.25pt e/w island home 7.25 Epsom Billy red went from strength to strength on the AW this winter and appeared to be coming to hand last time out after a flop on reappearance, handicapper giving him a massive chance at the weights now having won off a 7lb higher mark on the AW this winter, AW horses often do well at epsom and he has won on the turf before and could be a tad overpriced at 14/1 0.5pt e/w billy red 14/1 pp

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 Tomorrows bets: 2.20 Sandown Osiris Way was a good winner on first start of the season and nearly followed up next time out when 2nd over CD off a 3lb higher mark, up another 2lb but well handicapped on old form. He will appreciate the rain that has fallen at sandown and looks overpriced at 8/1. 0.5pt e/w osiris way 8/1 pp 4.35 Sandown Kaolak is a very tentative selection having been pulled up last time having lost his action, clearly ok as he lines up here today, he went with plenty of promise the time before and easily his best effort for some time without visor, visor back on today and Catlin back on board (he won on him 2 times last year) and now 6lb below last win, J Ryan finally off the cold list with a win couple days ago and a sign things are turnign for the yard who had a fantastic season last year. 0.25pt e/w kaolak 18/1 pp 5.05 Sandown We know very little about Swinging Hawk, but he appeared to a useful enough 3yr old in france and sent off outsider of 7 runners at pontefract a couple weeks ago and unlucky to finish second to the useful markington, he is due to go up 6lb on his next start so looks well treated having finished well clear of the rest of the field that were no mugs and aslong as their is more to come he could be very hard to beat. 1pt win swinging hawk 2.30 Doncaster Bollin Judith has to be of interest back against her own sex for all she is slightly frustrating, she has shaped good enough to land something last couple of starts and did appear to find 2mile to much last time out and could find this drop in trip in her favour could still be well treated if getting back to where she left off last year having finished 2nd off a 3lb higher mark last start last year. 0.5pt e/w bollin judith 3.35 Doncaster I recently read a Ruth Carr stable tour think it was in Raceform Update and she felt the Excuse Moi was more than capable of landing a big handicap sometime soon and I dont doubt her in the slightest, her string is in fine form this summer and he is a total pain in the arse at the stalls and can often be slow away (infact Ruth herself has to load him which has helped recently) but he finished like a train at the weekend behind the run away winner johnny mudball, he is dropping to a very attractable mark based on early efforts last year and even better if you look a couple years back and could be dangerous in this field. 0.5pt e/w excuse moi 8/1 bet365 7.55 Beverley General Tufto is an ultra tough consistent performer who loves it around here and southwell, he put a solid effort in last time out and is dropped another 1lb now just 2lb above last winning mark over CD and useful apprentice Mchugh takes the ride today and should go off at a nice EW price for a consistent sort. 0.5pt e/w general tufto

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 8.50 Haydock A lot of useful sorts at this level lineup here and Cool Baranca interests me the most at a decent price, she won a claimer in decent style last year and on unfavourable terms, shaped well in handicap after that 1lb higher now and again shaped well enough on reappearance and should be the one that appreciate the rain last night aslong as it all hasnt come out of the ground yet. She unexposed and open to more yet! 0.25pt e/w cool baranca 16/1 vcbet

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 Couple early ones for tomorrow: 2.35 Sandown A fantastic looking handicap, Coasting is of interest having come back from 1000+ day lay off to win a decent handicap over 7f on penultimate start that form is working out ok, and was better than the finishing postition suggests last time out off revised mark do a lot of late work when not getting clearest of runs so step up to mile should suit and remains on same mark and could be dangerous if gaps appear. The other I like is Collateral Damage ran his best race for a long time last time out when staying on late last time out actually runs off a 1lb lower mark today which now puts him back on hist last winning mark in the November handicap. 0.25pt e/w coasting 12/1 sj 0.25pt e/w collateral damage 20/1 sj 3.25 Haydock Submariner was held up for some reason last time out maybe because of his awful draw he got last time out, prior to that he was progressing very nicely and making up for lost time (only started his racing career 3 months ago) and I feel the handicapper has misread his form wrong dropping him 2lb straight away which is an unusual move against a progressive sort when not getting his own way in a big field and I feel is dangerous to ignore. 0.5pt e/w submariner 17/2 sj

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 5.10 Haydock Tyranosaurus Rex is dropping to a very good mark, now on same mark as his last win last year and this race is like to be run at a break neck pace with several confirmed front runners cutting each others fronts setting this up for a finisherand Hanagan riding out of his skin right now is a strong booking. 0.25pt e/w tyrannosauras rex 10/1 bet365 5.45 Haydock Ninth house must have a strong chance taking on several of his younger counterparts, he was extremely unlucky last time out when getting short of room when looking for a run and finished very strongly. Clearly in the right mood at the moment like most of Ruth Carr's runners, still handicapped to go well having won off this mark last season and off a 6lb higher mark on AW, Ahearn replaces an apprentice perhaps to do a slightly better job in the finish maybe! 1pt win ninth house 3/1 sj 3.50 Beverley Atlantic Story and Noodles Blue Boy met last time out there was a length and 1/4 between them and Noodles gets a 4lb turn around and he had a rather tardy start aswell and I see no reason for a reversal of that form especially with Noodles far more consistent and clearly in good form right now and is a horse that can string several good efforts together. 1pt win noodles blue boy 2/1 bet365 8.25 Carlisle Mr Rainbow was very well backed last time out and the gamble was landed quite well, still running very green hanging right but lightly raced and a lot more could still come up 5lb for that effort could still progress but concern has to prove he can handle faster ground and stay this longer trip but even so willing to take a risk at 7/1! 0.5pt e/w mr rainbow 7/1 sj 7.40 Nottingham Baby queen is a lightly raced 4yr old filly who won 2 handicaps last season and is now only 2lb higher than last win and clearly appreciated the run last time out when finishing second but was disqualified for the rider weighing in light, she is just a ball of speed and should appreciate this fast ground having won on firm ground last year and could still be open to more improvement. 0.5pt e/w baby queen 17/2 vcbet

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 Couple of quick ones from me today on what looks a poor day for flat fans!: 4.00 Brighton Lady florence won this race last year but off a 7lb lower mark and although shaped much better on last start on flat she was perhaps a little flattered by the opposition she opposed that day, not that todays is much better but there is presence of other front runners. Mr Harmoosh looks one of the more progressive ones in the field having won off a mark of 59 4 starts ago and been placed 2nd last 2 races of todays mark, making late headway but often far too late, Sanders loks a better booking today and hopefully more can be expected. 0.5pt win mr harmoosh 9/2 sj 4.30 Brighton Ocean Counttess and Patavium meet on same terms when they were a neck second and third, but that day Ocean counttess met a troubled passage and could find it quite easy to turn that form aroundif getting a clearer passage, has a fantastic record over CD and also under Cathy and I am unconvinced the handicapper has got her yet. 0.5pt win ocean counttess 4/1 sj 4.10 Ayr Hunters Belt was a horse I felt was well handicapped on the back of a couple of sound efforts in maidens, flopped on handicap debut but was much more promising last time out under a better ride and no reason to thnk he wont build on that again, very lightly raced for a 6yr old and this longer trip should suit having won a NHF race at the start of his career, the more rain that falls up at ayr the better chance he has. 1pt win hunters belt 10/3 sj

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 3.00 Bath Pinball has been a horse that has frustrated me for over a year now, he clearly has ability but doesnt always do himself favours often quite keen but he looked a reformed character on his seaosnal reappearance at beverley on fast ground, he clearly loves fast ground having won over this course over 6f on firm ground here last year off a 1lb higher mark so well handicapped and is only 2lb higher than win the other week, Catlin takes the ride which looks a strong booking against several veteran exposed runners. 0.5pt e/w pinball 8.50 Ripon Celtic Step is a lightly raced 6yr old and finally showed some worthwhile form for the first time since his 2yr old days on the Fibresand, he was well backed that day so any money today would probably be significant he was made to work hard by a very well treated low classed handicapper that day who failed to do the form any good which is a worry but a 3lb rise looks fair considering they pulled well clear of the rest of the field, I certainly feel Polish World is worth opposing on his search for a 4 timer tonight but he did appear to have much to spare last time out and runs off a 7lb higher mark tonight. 0.5pt e/w celtic step 7.40 Windsor Equuleus Pictor is very well handicapped, last win came off a 5lb higher mark, drawn well tonight to be given a more aggressive ride hopefully having been held up recently, perhaps would prefer some juice in the ground which is unlikely to get tonight but does have form on fast ground and some of his best form is around this CD. 0.5pt e/w equuleus pictor

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 Not feeling to sharp today infact off work so sorry this are brief! 3.00 Ponte Jackson might be a tad overpriced, Guest does well with these sort of runners coming from abroad, he was a classy horse in his younger days winning a grade 2 in brazil, was 2nd on last start in abu dubhai runs off 5lb lower mark today, its interesting they dont try AW with him again considering he is rated 20lb lower on the AW 0.25pt e/w jackson 18/1 vcbet 4.30 Ponte Several in form sorts and several speedy sorts who could set this up for a finisher BUT if Tangerine Trees can get to the front he could be hard to catch I still have him well handicapped as a progressive tough gelding at the age of 5. Up just 4lb for latest win and drawn well to make most of his speed. 0.5pt e/w tangerine trees 5/1 hills 3.15 Wolverhampton Go Dolphin dont have many 75 rated handicappers, hasnt progressed aswell as perhaps expected in 3 maidens but a rating off 75 looks a fair one on that form and he could be well treated for a handicap debut and also polytrack debut 1pt win reality show 7/2 bet365

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 3.10 Newmarket Strawberry Daiquiri will never owe me a penny, and was lucky enough to see her in the flesh and win at Newmarket on 1000 Guineas day overcoming a strong ground bias in real gritty fashion, she is a highly progressive filly with 6 wins from 8 runs at listed, g2 and g3 level! Hardest test to date today against some useful 3yr olds but clearly progressing as quickly as they are and is a top class filly that should fit in G1 company with fast ground to suit. 1pt win strawberry daiquiri 5/1 vcbet

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 3.10 Newmarket Gonna try my luck at group level again, Spanish moon was a horse I followed around on his globe trotting excursion over the past year or so simply because he was banned from racing in this country after trouble at the stalls, that trouble has failed to rear its ugly head again and he seems to be going from strength to strength and his 3rd at group 1 level on latest start at Meydan in the Sheema Classic looks the best form in this race and is the highest rated on OR in this race and aslong as he is wound upto go he should run a solid race. 2pt win spanish moon 15/8 hills 4.55 Newmarket Five Star Junior could well go off a false price after his lack lustre effort last time out at Newcastle, where apparently he got struck into and never looked to be travelling, Fallon gave him a great ride over this trip 3 starts ago to get up, up just 2lb for that effort and followed up with a solid 2nd and now reunited with Fallon maybe more can be expected. 0.5pt e/w five star junior

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 2.00 York Harlech Castle is nearly clear favourite for this race but Im not sure why yes is clearly going from strength to strength but all his turf form comes on Good/Soft ground and his improvement on the AW this wnter was round Southwell which usually favours soft ground horses he has also been off for 150 days aswell and has always run abmissmal fresh! Tiddliwinks must have a solid chance on his AW form, he is 10lb lighter on turf and he showed promise in 2 turf maidens in summer last year but did bomb out in turf handicaps but over the winter he really came to hand winning 5 times from 8 and could still beopen to more, he has been given a break which is a concern but Ryans yard is flying right now and I liked to see Spencer get leg up on Ryans horses they have a decent strike rate of 23% and a lsp +14.73! 0.5pt e/w tiddliwinks 9/1 sj 2.30 York Macs power has been impressive on his last 2 starts but 8lb rise could be a little harsh also have a niggling concern he finds a mile a little too far! Webbow looks a massive price considering his run at haydock on his penultimate start where he looked an all over winner when he was short of room, perhaps drawn on the wrong side at ascot but was a good second of that group this race looks easier and still looks well treated on what he has achieved this year! 0.5pt e/w webbow 7/1 totesport 3.05 York Emirates Champion looks overpriced for the boys in blue and I bet if Detori was up here riding he would be half the price, he won a decent handicap on the Tapeta surface in Dubai ths year, just as effective on turf having been a wide margin winner at Ayr last year, up just 5lb for that effort and could be a little more than a handicapper! 0.25pt e/w emirates champion 25/1 sj 2.45 Chester Inspirina was unusually held up last night round here, drops back 2f today which shouldnt cause a problem, has a much better record when making all and this course suits those sort of runners so would like them push on with him today he is clearly in good heart right now and a good second last night illustrates that only 4lb higher than last win. 0.5pt e/w inspirina 11/2 corals 4.40 Ascot Archers Road was kept very busy and held hot company most of his 2yr old campaign last year and was never disgraced and managed 3 wins, changed hands over the winter and got his head straight back in front again on his handicap debut and just held on, has been off again since for 80 days but hopefully has come on for that and a 1lb rise could be lenient if there is more to come, versatile as far as ground conditions go and although taking on his elders for the first time he has proved he is a tough sort! 0.5pt e/w archers road 7/1 vc 3.10 Nottingham Several frustrating sorts for me personally in this race, Lord Of The Reins is better on the AW but even then was frustrating but has a good record in small fields which is encouraging today, King of Swords is looking well treated at the moment and has been running respectably but without setting the world alight. But Baby Queen is the one that interests me the most she could get a soft lead in this, she ran a solid race on penultimate start (later disqualified for weighing in light) was pestered upfront last time where as this time she is the only front runner in the lineup other than her out of form/out of the handicap stable mate. She is now 1lb below last winning mark and the faster the ground the better for her! 0.5pt e/w baby queen 9/1 vc 8.25 Salisbury Chincoteague was very well backed last time out and is currently unexposed going handicapping, she showed some useful form in maidens to suggest this mark is more than workable, yard in banging form right now. 1pt win chincoteague 5/2 pp

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 Couple wee bets for tonight, must catchup on results in next couple days ;)!! 8.10 Windsor Red yarn has been running to a similar level on all starts this season and although still a maiden she will pop her head in front at some point she has the ability for all she has too many 2's sit in her formline, taking a step back in trip tonight and back racing against her own sex for the first time since blinkers have been fitted and should be in the thick of it. My best bet is one of the most exposed in the race but she stayed on very eye catchingly rather later on in an AW handicap 2 weeks ago behind clockmaker, races off a slightly lower turf mark tonight and could well be in the thick of it depending on how good some of her younger counter parts are. 0.25pt win my best bet 5/1 vc 0.25pt win red yarn 9/2 vc 8.50 Wolverhampton Black Dahlia must have a solid chance in this race, she is much better on the AW than she is on turf and she recently came back from a short break last time out on turf, when travelling well for a long way before looking to need the run. She ran really well in a couple of listed events in the winter which didnt do her handicap mark much good but on that form would have a solid chance off a mark of 90, Catlin gets on well with the horse, yard is going through a quiet spell perhaps missing tylicki a little bit so just small stakes for me! 0.25pt e/w black dahlia 8/1 tote

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 2.40 Brighton Piazza San Pietro runs without a penalty for latest win in app handicap, they are usually worth opposing 9 times out of 10 simply because of the weakness of the races sometimes although he is clearly in good form but he didnt appear to travel that well round here 3 starts ago which is also a concern. Forest dane doesnt get any younger but he is a bit of a course specialist with 3 wins from 9 runs round here and last time out was a decent winner and worth more than the winning margin considering the trouble he got into up only 2lb won off much higher marks in past could follow up. 0.5pt win forest dane 3.30 Beverley Tillietudlem is the one to beat he creeps into this off a featherweight this is a marked step up in class from apprentice handicaps but he has been winning with ease and also done well over hurdles recently and is clearly on the upgrade with trip and ground no problem. Markington might be a good saver at the prices is another that won in gritty fashion last time out, second place let the form down miserably recently but Theola boosted the form at the weekend though, 6lb higher is a little harsh but they were well clear of rest of field no worries of stamina with him! 1pt win tillitudlem 11/4 bet365 0.25pt win markington 5/1 bet365 8.00 Yarmouth Thoughtsofstardom has to be worthy of serious consideration with a decent jockey on board, has been ridden by mainly poor claimers recently and has shaped more than good enough under a stronger ride to win something again, he has been nothing but consistent since the winter on the AW and found himself shooting up the handicap after several brilliant wins on the AW over the winter. Last win came under detori over this trip at folkestone, only 2lb higher and bold bid looks likely. 0.5pt e/w thoughtsofstardom 8.50 Musselburgh Beat The Shower, doesnt wanna be missing the showers tomorrow he will want the showers to arrive at musselburgh because if they do he stands every chance of landing this. His best form comes with some cut in the ground last time out won over hurdles in a handicap off a mark of 107 could be well treated returning to the flat off a mark of 54 only 4lb higher than only win on flat, still relatively lightly raced and perhaps more can be eased out of him yet. 0.5pt win beat the shower Not likely to be about tomorrow so when that sticks out for me on Wednesday afternoon is this one on the AW card at lingfield; 4.30 Lingfield Clockmaker kinder surprised me a little bit last time out I wasnt convinced he was totally straightforward after a few costly defeats in maidens, but he ran away very comfortably with an all weather handicap last time out in a fair handicap for the grade and the 3rd boosted that form again on monday night with My best bet finish a good second, he was put up 7lb for that which puts him well in at these weights and is the least exposed of these runners and open to further improvement! 1pt win clockmaker

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 8.20 Kempton Shamir is one of only 2 3yr olds taking on elders tonight over the mile, drawn 1 again which is no good thing but did overcome that last time out but didnt really beat too much home which is a real worry in this strong looking field for this class 4 handicap and third place certainly didnt boost that form recently. Red Somerset is probably one of the most exposed runners in the lineup but ran a VERY solid race last time out when staying on far too late after the runaway unexposed useful looking clockmaker had flown the nest runs off the same mark tonight with Atzeni back in the saddle and has won off higher marks before. 0.5pt e/w red somerset 17/2 hills

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 6.20 Bath Baby Queen has been running quite well recently and has suggest she can score off her current mark, she is an out and out speed ball and will try and make all she won round here doing just that over CD in very similar conditions this time last year and is now 1lb below that winning mark Gulliambert is returned to the saddle and won on her twice last year! 0.5pt e/w baby queen 7.25 Bath Billy red went off like a scalding cat last time with We have a dream pushing him throughout, cant see anything likely to do that today as he is just a speed ball, perhaps better on AW but his handicap mark reflects that and has won on turf before and if he cant win he might just plug on for a place at a price round a course that suits a prominent runner! 0.25pt e/w billy red 7.15 Epsom Pentathlon makes a long overdue handicap debut, hasnt run for over 2 years but won very encouringangly on last start by 5 lengths admitly not beating a lot but interesting that a very shrewd trainer in Johnston brings him back into training as a 5yr old! Worth a small ew interest. 0.25pt e/w pentathlon 8.40 Doncaster Thatll Do Nicely looks a tasty price at 4/1 he is seeking the hatrick tonight and looks to have come back from his winter break better than ever, lightly raced for a 7yr old and may still be capable of more certainly scored with more up his sleeve last time and a 7lb rise looks fair and this looks a peach of an outside ride for Hanagan who is high in confidence right now! 1pt win thatll do nicely 4/1 bet365

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 4.55 Newbury Decent looking handicap Major Phil has progressed nicely this season as most Cumani's handicappers do but a concern is the extra 2f here today, breeding certainly doesnt suggest this is the right move and has shaped as if needing that much further and is up 4lb for not winning last time out which looks harsh. The 2 3yr old runners at the bottom of the weights are both of significant interest both from respectable stables but look priced correctly. The one that interests me at the current prices is Reve De Nuit, he has finally come to hand again after going wayward after a win at Southwell in January, he won at newmarket on penultimate start in eye catching fashion and ran a very solid race in the old newton cup runs off a 1lb lower mark today and interesting that yard have booked Probert which looks a strong booking. 0.5pt e/w reve de nuit 12/1 bet365 2.55 Haydock A real competitive handicap considering the grade, I am really sweet on Sir Geoffrey hasnt been used to his full effect last twice but did stay on well last time out behind the impressive Mey Blossom, if he is ridden with a little more zest like when making all at Ripon in April off a 5lb lower mark he could be hard to nail on the line, worry has to be the yards form although Black Dahlia suggested the other night they may just be turning the corner. 0.25pt e/w sir geoffrey 4.40 Haydock Chosen Forever ran one of his best races to date in defeat last time out when a neck second to Kindest in a much tougher race at York last time out, takes a drop down in class today and still potentially well treated on AW form from the winter when he was well known for running several races in a strong sequence and if back to that he could prove hard to beat. 0.5pt e/w chosen forever

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 2.45 Newbury Sarah park looks fairly treated on the pick of her form (2nd off a mark of 89 is most eye catching on the AW) rated 90 now and ran a respectable race on seasonal debut and in handicap off 92, faced tough tasks lately at listed and group level and has to be interest back in handicap company and with Meehan runners currently in good form. 0.25pt e/w sarah park 10/1 bet365 3.25 Ripon Templetuohy Max looks a tad overpriced if forgiving him a bad run last time out in what looked a muddling affair and several ran below form so if he bounce back to day he looks a danger to all, he ran out a good 2nd off this revised mark prior to that to suggest he can defy this mark and useful claimer takes off a very useful 3lb putting him just 1lb above last winning mark has gone on good ground before. 0.5pt e/w templetuohy max 16/1 pp 3.35 Market Rasen Unusual for me to have my best bet of the day going over the jumps but I am really struck on Brooklyn Brownies chance if able to defy a career high mark and also coping with the shorter trip for the first time in some time, he went up 5lb for a recent brilliant second to ouzbeck in the summer national and looked a real tough cookie prior to that he ran out a decisive winner of a valuable chase 14lengths clear of ollie magern who went and won in handicap since, hard to say whether a 11yr old is improving but he is certainly in fine fettle and should be right in the mix. 0.5pt e/w brooklyn mobile 16/1 sj 4.40 Newmarket Curaco must have a solid chance in this disappointing sized lineup, he is nothing but consistent and should appreciate the small amoutn of rain we have had down here, handicapper also giving him a chance dropping him a 1lb for latest efforts which puts him on a mark of his best run this seaosn when second to Just Rob at goodwood and only a 1lb above last mark, this affair could turn tactical and he is versatile and will take them along at a better tempo if My Mate Max sets a dawdle. 1pt win curaco 9/4 tote 5.15 Newmarket Several of my old favourites and it often pays to side with sprinters in form and that makes it hard to cross many of these out, five star junior bounced right back although its still debatable whether he is better over 6f, osiris and rocket rob have both run to the same level on recent starts at the prices Brandywell Boy looks the one to side with certainly not getting any younger but is in some brilliant form winning last 3 starts under this jockey 4lb higher for latest win and appear to win with plenty up his sleeve again but will need a career best today. 0.5pt e/w brandywell boy 6/1 sj

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 4.50 Redcar Rascal in the mix is in the form of her life right now and might prove hard to beat winning with plenty of authority last time out and a 4lb rise looks lenient especially now Amy Ryan can claim her 5lb in this race (she couldnt last time so effictively 1lb lighter today) fast ground to suit again and racing against her own sex again. 1pt win rascal in the mix 4.20 Redcar Sir nod is another in the form of his life right now and ran extremely well in defeat 2 weeks ago at catterick off this mark, Hanagan has an extremely good record with this horse: 11441712 and both horse and jockey continue in good form on favoured fast surface and although no chance of getting to the front with peter island in the field he is vunerable to anything that sits off him as he often goes off to fast for own good! 0.5pt e/w sir nod

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 4.00 Ffos Las Aeroplane was a horse I was always keen to take on on the AW towards the end but he has gone well fresh before an looks well handicapped on some old form, often travels strongly and certainly should offer a trade in running job, previous 2 turf wins have come on good ground in his younger days limited runs on turf since, but the booking of Hughes also looks eye catching. 0.5pt e/w aeroplane 12/1 bet365

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 Todays was a non runner, again just looked at the one race today for tomorrow: 3.40 Catterick Equuleus pictor is extremely well handicapped at the moment but is becoming frustrating, La Capriosa was in good form at start of year and should strip fitter but yard massively out of form, Hanagan is eye catching booking for Le Toreador but plenty of front runners in here in better form and is probably better on AW, Lucky Numbers is in fine form but probably just held by the handicapper right now. The 2 I am going to take to war is Mey Blossom who had nothing go right last time in search for a hatrick under a penalty, bit stumbling at start and not getting clear run at finish and could easily bounce back on 3lb better terms today under same jockey as the wins have come under good ground is also no problem. Mullglen is closely matched with Mey Blossom on his running in june at thirsk, and ran a good enough race last time to suggest that that form may well hold up and could fight it out these 2, he also has course form 1 from 1 and did win off a 1lb lower mark so handicap mark doesnt look harsh and potentially the softer it gets the better he will be. 0.5pt win mey blossom 5/1 bet365 0.5pt win mullglen 6/1 bet365

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 4.00 Ascot Pendragon is progressing at a rather rapid speed and his run behind Brushing in the Cumberland plate is very interesting considering he didnt look over suited to the step up in trip, dropped back a furlong last time out and romped home with a win winning a tad cosily up a further 6lb and he looks wells ahaead of his mark, should cope with foot conditions and his main danger could come from Which Doctor who is versitile as far as ground goes but goes better with some cut which he should get, been racing over an inadequate mile recently steps back up in trip and last win comes off a 2lb higher mark and could well bounce back and is well worth a saver! 0.75pt win pendragon 0.25pt win which doctor 4.35 Ascot Gonna take a risk with Quinsman again today, he showed up well for a long way back on the AW recently when clearly needing a run if coming on from that there is no reason he should be a 33/1 shot, he progressed nicely on the AW over the winter and although showed little on turf last year no reason to think that his improvement cant be transferred and a second off a mark of 77 on the AW reads well when running off 76 today on turf! 0.25pt e/w quinsman 33/1 sj 3.15 Pontefract A slight concern Northside Prince has been off for 66 days when running his best race this seaosn last time out on fibresand at southwell behind the progressive Speed Dating, 1lb lower today back on turf and showed a consistent level of form last season and aslong as all is well there is no reason to think he wont continue in the same form, Swinbank's horses continue in good form and has the extra power of Fallon as an interesting booking today! 0.5pt win northside prince

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 Cheers Steve nice to be back on the winning trail lets hope it continues! Gonna concentrate on Goodwood this week mainly! 2.10 Goodwood Submariner is a typical progressive sort from the Johnston yard, late starter in life but 3 times a winner at this trip this season, has ran just ok last twice when stepped up in trip and in hot handicaps and is easing back down the weights again now only 3lb higher than last winning mark and also steps back down in trip which looks a positive move, probably wouldnt want too much more rain. The other that I like the look of is Satwa Moon who is another lightly raced late starting progressive colt, who looked a handicap blot when dotting up in an apprentice handicap on the AW this spring but failed to build on that but came back last month and bounced right back to best and 3rd and 4th have since boosted that form and could still be well handicapped off a 5lb higher mark, clearly wants some cut and appears to go well fresh aswell. 0.25pt e/w satwa moon 9/1 sj 0.25pt e/w submariner 10/1 sj 2.45 Goodwood I have had a good word for Rebel Soldier from a good enough source, and he is a very lightly raced 3yr old colt who absolutely trounced a decent field in handicap company and although up against more savvy individuals now he is open to plenty of improvement and reports are he has been working well on the gallops. 1pt win rebel soldier 4/1 hills 3.25 Goodwood Balthazaars Gift looks a tad overpriced he was far from disgraced in 2 hotter races than this last twice and was a good 2nd in this race last year and for all he doesnt win much he is consistent and a place looks a solid chance in this field which should be run to suit with Dunelight in the race. 0.25pt e/w balthazaars gift 9/1 sj 4.35 Goodwood My Kingdom is not the easiest to win with, he needs to be produced super late which often gets him in a lot of trouble but did win extremely convincingly on penultimate start over this course but over 7f, was staying on strongly at epsom latest off new mark after getting into trouble, ran well enough to suggest this mark is beyond him and gets to run off the mark again today and certainly worth a try over this further trip with his running style and Hughes a strong booking. 0.5pt e/w my kingdom

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 2.10 Goodwood This will be Lady Eclairs first real test, she has made herself well known as a potentially useful sort that looks listed/group performer in the making, interesting that connections stick with her in handicaps she is up another 4lb for her latest win in her hatrick, the step up in trip is a slight concern as she is un tried but nonethless she looks an out and out stayer with real guts and could just be class above these even carrying topweight. Markington will be my other bet in the race for all he is a fairly tentative vote because his 1 run here last year was abmissmal when in good form which is a slight concern, but has gone from strenght to strength with age just recently and seeks the hatrick here after 2 fairly easy wins this year so far and 4lb rise looks fair enough, faster the ground the better really. 0.5pt e/w lady eclair 10/1 sj 0.25pt e/w markington 11/1 sj 3.25 Goodwood For all I would love to see Canford Cliffs trounce this field he takes on his elders for the first time today and this is no weak field. Rip Van Winkle should have come on for the run at Ascot and now O'briens horses are hitting form he can be trusted a bit more to produce what he is really capable of, the other interesting contender could be Premio Loco who has really improved this year and should the race fall apart a little bit it should be run at a strong pace with the pacemakers in the field for him to provide a smart finishing kick similar to Canford Cliffs who in my opinion is far too short at 4/6! 1pt win rip van winkle 5/2 vcbet 0.5pt win premio loco 8/1 lads 5.10 Goodwood Flapper is know no hoper, she gave a promising display on seasonal reappearance at kempton, failed to build on that next time out but if bouncing back this time she could get her own way upfront although Agony and Ecstasy does tend to make all but isnt out and out front runner like Flapper, also interesting Amy Scott takes the ride as she rode her to 2 victories last year and also takes off a useful 7lb! 0.5pt e/w flapper

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 2.10 Goodwood Real tough race to start the day full of improving sorts and inform aswell, but I was really taken back by London Stripe at Newmarket back on Guineas weekend, ran a blinder on faster ground when 3/4 length behind Dandino up 7lb for that effort, well clear of the rest of the field, steps down in trip again today but won over this trip at newmarket, still progressing and should go well! 0.5pt e/w London Stripe 5/1 bet365 2.45 Goodwood One of my old favourites goes today in Border Lescott nothing but consistent and gutsy, he has run 5 times here winnign once and never finished out the places the other 4 times and ran out a very good race and hell of a lot better than finishing place suggests runnign on far too late around the typical tough chester track, should go well under Fallon today every chance at the weights aswell! 0.5pt e/w Borderlescott 7/1 sj 4.00 Goodwood Flying Cloud represents a stable in good form right now and her run last time out just over a length behind Chinese White at curragh in group1 suggest he is as good as ever this year and the fashion in which she won the ribblesdale last year at ascot suggest she should stay this trip. 0.5pt win flying cloud 3/1 bet365 5.10 Goodwood Citrus star will certainly want some cut in the ground but he is going the right way to be something a little bit special, he was 3rd in a listed event on final start as 2yr old and then 3rd first time out this season in an average handicap but a much more promising 4th last time out at epsom when hampered at start but runnign on very strongly, runs off same mark today and can be expected to improve again and really looks to be going the right way! 1pt e/w Citrus Star 5.45 Goodwood This is a big ask for Matsunosuke to turn out 4 days after a real promising run at Ascot at the weekend in another hot handicap and that was a real promise to a return to form in which he was seen in at the start of the year, potentially very well treated on turf, won off 102 on AW rated just 87 now on turf but just as good on turf and should be in the thick of it if all is well!! 0.5pt e/w matsunosuke

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 2.10 Goodwood Really sweet on La De Two, clearly had his problems only making the racecourse 3 times but each run is more than noteworthy, completely trounced a handicap field at York recently and is completely unexposed and open to any amount of improvement, will need to improve again to stand a chance here but no reason to think he wont! 0.5pt e/w la de two 8/1 bet365 2.45 Goodwood A real competitive handicap to get stuck into several stand out but the one that I have been following since the winter AW runs is Tiddliwinks, he was given an awful ride by Spencer first time out on grass this season, but much more promise next time out with Holland on board just 1 1/4l behind hawkeye and looks as though he could be bang in form and Callan takes the ride and does well with Ryans runners and has won on him before. 0.5pt e/w tiddliwinks 12/1 sj 3.25 Goodwood Webbow is becoming extremely frustrating at the moment, is clearly handicapped to win races by the way he travels often finding trouble although no excuse last time out but is fitted with cheekpieces for the first time after hanging slightly last time out could just bring enough out, his only run here was a promising 4th last season in this race and gets in on a featherweight this time again. 0.5pt e/w webbow 12/1 sj 5.15 Goodwood This looks a super easy chance for Jacqueline Quest to get a long overdue victory this season, first past the post in the 1000 Guineas and proved that was no fluke when 3rd at royal ascot, takes a drop back from group1 company to group3 and this looks weak. 1pt win jacqueline quest

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 3.05 Goodwood Shame only 7 go to post so only 2 places available, but I am a real fan of Strawberrydaiquiri, Ive said it before and will say it again she will never owe me a penny she has won plenty for me, she is a real game filly who has won 6 of her 9 starts at listed and group level, will need to bounce back from a slightly disappointing effort last time out at HQ at group 1 level but she has long ran as if a step up in trip would suit. 0.5pt e/w strawberrydaiquiri 13/2 sj 3.40 Goodwood Its a shame the handicapper took such a harsh view on Johnny Mudballs romp home, he was finally allowed to make all like he did when winning a maiden in good style on the AW, had been held up all season for some reason, but was completely favoured by running against the rail and making all latest start at Newcastle to win by a large margin and a 9lb rise could be seen as harsh but he still cant be crossed out as he is clearly still improving and if he can get to the front today he should be there. Knot in wood heads the weights but comes into this in good heart having finished 4th in Wokingham off a 1lb higher mark, before being given an awful ride last time out in group level, tends to pick up places in these events more often than not and course record is worth noting all in this race being 363! 0.25pt e/w johnny mudball 12/1 lads 0.25pt e/w knot in wood 28/1 sj

Re: Chris34's Flat Thread 2010 3.50 Doncaster The Galloping Shoe looks a massive price, he ran a personal best last time out at newcastle when going against a strong front bias at newcastle, he was switched off at the back and came with a strong run and appeared to win with plenty in hand although handicapper thought the same putting him up 7lb, even so 7/1 looks huge! 0.5pt e/w the galloping shoe 7/1 bet365 5.05 Newmarket Peintre Dargent has been going from strength to strength this seaosn under this young rider and appeared to win in very good fashion and with something in hand last time out, 6lb rise in the weights looks fair enough and she appears to be improving now she has got the idea of the game! 1pt win peintre dargent 4/1
