Best bet of the day 12th april

Recommended Posts

4.20 musselburgh Gordonsville looks to have a great chance for a place here today if not the victory, yet to win on the turf but has some briliant efforts, best performances come on good and good/firm ground so ground set to suit today and yard in decent form. 0.5pt e/w gordonsville

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april 2.50 Muss Silvanus - only a couple of pounds higher than when chasing home Dvinsky and Godfrey Street on the all-weather and much better than the bare result suggested last time as he helped set a fast tempo and tired late on. Looks well drawn next to two likely leaders and placed at Yarmouth on fast ground last term so ground may suit. win

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april 3:40 Towcester. Team Chaser. 1 point LAY You can make a case for a few of his rivals today, and this ine seems to run a bit better with a bit of give underfoot. Put up in the weights for his last run (second) and I'm not sure that race was of as good quality as this. Worth opposing.

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april 2-40 towcester-jacardo-e/way pulledup 8 days ago at chepstow but does like this course, as won after a quick return to action and i think that he his worth the chance to put that last run behind him even though this is a better run should also be a good price so he will do e/way for me

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april 14:20 Muss - Keisha Kayleigh Looks very dangerous now down into selling company, intresting jockey booking in Neil Callen, he rode this horse three times in a month last year when she finished 2nd, 1st & 2nd. Ran ok lto at Doncaster and this looks much much easier and she could just get her first win for a while in this company. 1pt win

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april Barker 3.45 Fairyhouse Each Way Won its last 2 races under Ruby Walsh but he has got off the horse today and opted for Golden Silver and had the choice of 4 Mullins horses, i'm hoping he's chosen the wrong horse. Barker won the Pierse hurdle and then disappointed over jumps but they seem to have sorted out its jumping and it won convincingly for the last 2 races and looks like it will get this trip. It was a 17 length winner over 19f. Trafford Lad has obvious chances and form worked out well with Cooldine winning again but both Trafford Lad and Golden Silver possibly need softer ground and at 16's Barker looks decent value.

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april 3.45 Fairyhouse - Aran Concerto Big fan of the horse. Had a nice price for the RSA chase before he got his injury setback. Trainer said the horse is in top form now and the price looks just too big for me. Unexposed and potentially a star in the making.

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april 4.30 Plumpton. Dizzy Future. 1 pt win. This horse was off the track for 15 months before making it's reappearance in January, where it pulled up.On it's 2nd run back it hacked up in a class 4 novice chase at Taunton over 24 furlongs on firm ground, beating Run Of Kings by 16 lengths on April 2nd.It was last seen on the 8th April at Hereford where it contested a class 5 handicap hurdle over 26 furlongs on good ground beating Classic Quart by 6 lengths. It is obviously in good form as they have turned it out again today at Plumpton in a class 5 novices handicap chase over 26 furlongs.Lets hope it can complete a hat-trick :hope.

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april MUSSELBURGH The 2.50 looks a typical difficult sprint with at least 5 or 6 winners to come out of this race at some point over the season. Sandwith seems to bne a bit of musselburgh specialist with 3 wins over C/D however they were in stalls 4, 2 & 3. RussP invaluable draw information states that low draws used to be favoured however the majority of sprints last season went to mid to high draws. The horse is drawn in 12 today & ran a very creditable 2nd here LTO btn a hd 9 days ago out of stall 4. The winner was drawn 14 but the places went to stalls 4,1 & 2. Its an ew bet for me today - Sandwith 10/1 Betfred

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april Fair 3.45 Jayo 0.5 pts e.w Top race. Trafford Lad was a good sort as a novice hurdler and has run very well so far over fences with some top form at times with FPTP, Cooldine, Casey Jones. However Im not totally sure what his trip is and in time I cant help feel he will need a touch further and he could be vulnerable to one with a bit of pace here and as an upset it could be Jayo, worthy fav mind you. Jayo doesn’t appear to be first choice of the yard but the yards first choice Golden Silver may need it softer and Jayo has a couple of good wins to his name already over fences. He can be a bit hit and miss and has suffered from broken blood vessels in the past which partially explains that but on his day he is good. For example he won two novice chases this season in good style, in particular when beating a really solid yardstick in Made in Taipain who was solid at chelt/aint and Jayo thumped and it didn’t appear that MIT ran badly either. Jayo has won at this trip and at a price may have at the worst e.w prospects here.

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april 410 Towcester; Topflight Wildbird EW Looks a real tricky race on paper but very few have clear chances, saying that a rag will come out the pack and win hard held now! Anyway, been watching Topflight Wildbird this season and has ran some promising races and I think connections are unsure about the trip for this one, looks like it wants beyond 2 miles yet doesnt really stay 2m 4f by the looks of it. 2m around here could be ideal, its raining there too so will need to get home. Has dropped right down the handicap and is very capable of running a solid race in this grade.

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april 4.20 Musselburgh Chartist Win Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and having blown the cobwebs when 5th 10 days ago over this distance at Leicester after 6 month layoff, every reason to think this one will have come on and be a lot sharper today. Needs to settle better but still think this is the value of the race at current 7/1.

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april Muss 3.50 - Captain Macarry - win Has been progressing nicely since having a year off and coming back to action for the all weather season. Won his maiden at 2 then was highly tried in Class 2 and Listed races before his year off. Came back with more realistic targets and won a class 6 and a class 5 on the all weather. Ran in a decent race at Donny at the Lincoln Meeeting and ran OK, finished 6th but was on the wrong side, the first 3 being on the other side of the track Gradually improving type, this looks a decent opportunity to win a Class 4

Re: Best bet of the day 12th april P4.00 Hansomelle 0.5pt E/W This trainer (Sheena West) uses this jockey (M Goldstein) whenever she fancies the horses chances and the combo have a very good level stakes profit together. Interestingly the combo have only had 4 attempts at this track resulting in 2 winners at 16/1 and 6/1. The horse has also got some form at the course and looks a decent price at 14/1 in a very weak race.

2:50 Muss - Jaconet - Back I think 6/1 is humongous. Terrific strike rate, and has a huge chance here 1pt win
WW, well done, but i would guess this is on the verge of being not counted as we need more reasoning than that surely??? :ok

I take your point Bowles, it was a bit on the short side. But i did state that the srike-rate and the price were my reasons for nap, and I think that is sufficient. Hard luck with the 2nd by the way
