madnesstiger
MADNESS DAILY 3 ...THE RESURRECTION __________________________________________________ MadnessDaily 2 made it's exit after the Champions League Final when Manchester United failed to win in 90minutes, and Wayne Rooney failed to get mardy enough to receive a card from the referee! Behind the scenes, £50 went into Betfair and was split into 2 lots of £25. A series of short-priced bets followed in an attempt to make £50 to start a new thread. The first 2 bets won, and then the strategy went downhill and I had just £14.40 to play with. The target, of course, was £100. Then this happened... ABERDEEN to beat RANGERS @ 8.2 STAKE: £14.40 *** FT ABERDEEN 2:0 RANGERS :) RETURNS (AFTER COMMISSION): £113.00 (I can provide proof, but I am hoping you will trust me on this one!) BANKED: £50.00 PROFIT: £63.00 *** And from there I had no choice but to restart what I set out to do with MadnessDaily 2. The rules for this attempt are still being finalised, but will probably run along the same lines as the previous thread. The starting bank will again be: £50.00 Unless... Remember I had £63.00, well the remaining £13.00 has gone onto tonights Copa Libertadores match between LDU Quito and San Lorenzo. I am not expecting a win by any means, but should one of the following bets win, the majority of the returns will probably help increase the starting bank for this attempt. So, what am I hoping for? BET 1: LDU / DRAW (HT/FT) @ 17.5 STAKE: £6.50 BET 2: SAN LORENZO / DRAW (HT/FT) @ 16.5 STAKE: £6.50 :hope:hope As usual, if anyone has any ideas on how to improve the system, factors to consider etc., please don't be shy, don't raise your hand before speaking, just fire the opinions in this direction! madnesstiger
Re: MadnessDaily 3 - The Resurrection After last night's 7/1 & 8/1 (combined) winners, I have been able to withdraw the original £50 deposit and produce a profit of £158.81. *** As it stands, I will start this thread 'proper' with £100. £50 will be put aside for a different thread. Which leaves £8.81 available for a few 'novelty' bets!.. This money has been split into 4 'correct score' bets on todays U20 Toulon Tournament match between Ivory Coast & USA. Here's the bets: IVORY COAST U20 vs USA U20 EITHER TEAM TO SCORE MORE THAN 3. £4.60 @ 11.5 IVORY COAST 0:3 USA. £1.30 @ 60 IVORY COAST 1:3 USA. £1.61 @ 34 IVORY COAST 3:3 USA. £1.30 @ 95 As with last night's bet, I know the outcomes are very unlikely, and am therefore not going to be disappointed should they not win. The aim of the bets is to provide target returns of £50 form the £8.81 total stake. The IVORY COAST are apparently a fairly 'physical' side who lost 0-2 to ITALY on Wednesday, and are up against a weak USA side who were defeated 2-3 by TURKEY the other day. With the contrasting styles of teams on display today, I can see there being a handful of goals, so have basically gone for the high-scoring selections with the longest odds! Also, I will be able to enjoy this match live on EuroSport with a Whisky and a cigar! :hope MT :ok
DJ
Re: MadnessDaily 3 - The Resurrection After your prediction about the goals going in on this game, I backed over 2.5 goals at around 2.2. Any idea where I can find the latest score? Want to come back every now and again and check how it's going. Best of luck with this one! madnesstiger
Re: MadnessDaily 3 - The Resurrection I haven't forgotten to actually start this thread properly, I've just been playing with the 'overspill' money. After a few 'behind the scenes' bets, the bank has risen to £200.80! :) The 80p will go on something really daft, which leaves me with 2x £100 starting banks! More details to follow I'm sure. I know I'm not going to risk anymore large bets with the profits I've gained, that would just be greedy. However... the 80p... mmm... SAN MARTIN vs TIGRE (KICKS-OFF IN 30 MINS) CORRECT SCORE: 0:3 @ 50. STAKE: £0.80 :hope:lol MT :ok
madnesstiger
Re: MadnessDaily 3 - The Resurrection To summarize so far... £50 deposit into Betfair Series of long-odds winners produced a £250 bankroll Initial £50 withdrawn from account Remaining £200 split into 2 £100 kept aside for another thread £100 starting bank for this one! About time to get the ball rolling then. For various reasons, my dream figure would be £70k. I have tinkered around with the forecast sheet on my spreadsheet, and worked out that it would take: 693 winners @ 1.01 (Lays @ 101), starting with £100 348 winners @ 1.02 (Lays @ 51), starting with £100 233 winners @ 1.03 (Lays @ 34), starting with £100 176 winners @ 1.04 (Lays @ 26), starting with £100 141 winners @ 1.05 (Lays @ 21), starting with £100 (These figures are approximate, and take into account 5% commission) Judging by the numbers above, I can tell this isn't gonna be easy at all. Although I know currently that Scotty-XS has managed almost 120 winners at approx 1.01/1.02, this is still some way short of the amount required form the above table. So, what I plan to do is this. All bets will be 100% stakes (that is, staking all of the bank on each bet) at backing odds of no higher than 1.03 (laying odds of no lower than 34.0). However, every now and then I will spot something at longer odds which I feel deserve to be much lower. I WILL KEEP THESE TO A MINIMUM, and will only place these bets if I am 100% confident that they will win. Just 1 winner from a 'long-shot' bet of 1.30 could cover upto 9 regular winners at 1.03 (if that makes sense!). I think the hardest part of this system will be the first 30-40 bets, as the bankroll will not seem to rise much after each winner, and temptation will be rearing it's ugly head in an effort to raise the bank quicker. Hopefully though, this will not be the case, and I can keep to the discipline side of things quite nicely. Anyway, enough of the drivel, the first bet will be posted soon! madnesstiger
Re: MadnessDaily 3 - The Resurrection FT I.ANDREEV wins 3rd set 6-4 :) Watched the match on BetfairVideo, and saw Andreev takes the final game 'to love'. Maybe the odds I took the bet at were a little low, looking back at it, and can see why a few of you mentioned that it was a little risky. I had Andreev mentally down for a win over the 33-year-old from the start having read through a few stats, and some 'specialist' tennis forums. However, this bet in particular has backed-up the fact that a player should really be in a better position than Igor was today in order to place bets at odds that short. Still, a win's a win.. and that's all that counts in this thread! MT :ok

madnesstiger
Re: MadnessDaily 3 - The Resurrection HT RANGERS 2:0 QUEEN OF THE SOUTH :) *** I'm watching this match live on BBC Scotland, and cannot see this game resulting in anything other than a Rangers win. The 2 late(ish) goals in the first half, I think, means that this game is all about Queen Of The South keeping their heads together and not conceding too many more in the 2nd half. QoS have not really had a shot at goal and I just can't see them scoring 2 in the 2nd half, and keeping a clean sheet for the next 45 minutes. So, onto the next bet then... [004] RANGERS vs QUEEN OF THE SOUTH LAY DRAW (IN-PLAY, 2:0 HT) @ 46.0 LIABILITY £100.31 :hope (This is where the 'spare' £100 comes into play, as BET 3 hasn't been settled yet!) ;) MT :ok
