Bets like this do not come along that often. Top Look races prominently / tracks pace but his best run was 2nd in the King Ed with a slow pace. Centenial usually races somewhere near the pace but barely stays 1 1/2 miles. So it is unlikely to be that fast early. Meydan City is improving rapidly, not sure to stay a truly run race but on the other hand may have more speed than these. Same horse (unlucky last time in the Super Sprint as you said) and Classic Blade in the July Stakes the last couple I can think of. Don't know why it's suddently fashionable, probably because they see pictures Colleen Rooney at Chester in OK. I know it's nice to see sometimes, and when I'm on a rare jolly myself racing it's what you want. BUT, most of the time really annoy me. I honestly wouldn't go racing if I couldn't go in O&T's. Although from what you've said in the past Ginge you position yourself in a similar sensible position when at Goodwood. Was at GL the other day and I could think of nothing worse than getting lager spilt on me in the main bars and listening to idiots talking cobblers. You can tell I haven't had much sleep lately - what a miserable sod I am. :lol Nice winner earlier. I also backed Pipedreamer today (E/W) and had a small win bet on Phoenix Tower. Yet has improved on a firm surface. May be able to do even better now. Races prominently and has a good draw. The last sentance applies to Salient too (only Masai Moon on his inside now). Already won on the course. There are other horses who like to race with the pace but they are not as well drawn. Proven on a soft surface. Presumptive may come in to things if it is a truly run race (held up). Stable was not in great form earlier in the season yet ran well. Now Charlton is in good form he may be capable of better. Proven on good-soft, not softer. Commander Cave may do better dropped back to this trip but is priced up on what he could do anyway, rather than what he has done. Won a nursery at the Newmarket July meeting, staying on. Has course form and onmy working out has exactly the same chance as his stable companion Sohcahtoa (who is poor value). £10 @ 10/1 Doctor Crane (12.5% 7/1) £16 @ 9/2 Debaas (21% 4/1) Doctor Crane ran disappointingly last time but came out quickly and (ignoring that run) looked progressive. Stable in cracking form. Debaas won well at Ascot last time on second start. Stable takes it's time with 2yo's so encouraging and could improve quite a bit on that. I am not as consistent as I once was. Have looked at why this is. Possibly just a bad run, with the value horses not winning. Have spoken to other value bettors who have also gone through a rough patch. But I may be trying to work too long hours, making too many mistakes because of tiredness. (Seem to do better in the first two races I work out than the last two). I might be betting in too many races, trying to work too many races out. Possibly did not make enough allowance for draw advantage and trainers in form at Goodwood. Now I have a system that seems to do well in competitive races, I can concentrate my study on other races. If he runs as well on turf will be difficult to catch. Showed enough speed at 7f to suggest even this sharp 6f should be within his capabilities. My main worry though is whether Peter Island will take him on up front (drawn together). Patavium Prince is another rare progressive sort in this race. Consistent, if anything happens to the favourite he can mop up. 4:20 Goodwood £55 @ 6.8/1 Meydan City (18% 9/2) £25 @ 2.2/1 Many Volumes (34.5% 15/8) 1m2f looks too short for Purple Moon (reappearance) and Tranquil Tiger (who seems difficult to win with all of a sudden). Stable and owner companion Many Volumes is the obvious one. Below form last time on the all-weather. Is generally consistent and a battler. There may not be that much pace on here and it may suit his style (races prominently / tracks pace). Hearthstead Maison is the other prominent runner but he ran poorly abroad recently. Meydan City is the main bet, did not stay or get the run of the race last time. Seemingly going well before bumped and not knocked about by Frankie. But there is no doubt that on form his chance is much better than the betting suggests. Only just beaten by Henry at Goodwood and allowed him first run. Getting closer with every meeting. Cityscape did impress as a Group horse in the making, could even be a Racing Post Trophy winner. But I was hoping for a little bit bigger price. Might save later. On Our Way was beaten by Snoqalmie Girl on the opposite side of the track (possibly better ground) Henry Cecil's charge is a grand looker and the biggest two year old I've seen all year. The object is to use bookmakers odds compilers to find value bets from races featured on Pricewise pages of the Racing Post. The staking plan used is based on the table of odds and chances.
