Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08

Recommended Posts

Diriculous 4.30 Southwell (WIN) Formline reads 4-1-1-5-1-2 but bear in mind 4th was on its debut and 5th was when it dwelt and was hampered at the start and there is a look of consistency about it. Still looks quite progressive, was a course and distance winner in January and has raced prominently and also raced in midfield so race tactics shouldn't be a problem. Ran into an unexposed horse last week and was only 3/4 length second at Kempton in a class 4 race. Should be involved at the finish in this race and Jim Crowley has 1st and 2nd from his 2 rides on it and is on board today. 3 wins and a 2nd from 5 races over 6f so clearly gets the trip and the course win is very important as they don't all go on this surface.

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 4.20 Sedgefield Matmata De Tendron EW 6/1 Course specialist and distance winner in this test of stamina. Third LTO over 4m but should have recovered from that now. Back over hurdles and off a very appealing mark, should go close

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 Ling 2.40 Moski 1 pt win. Very difficult race to call with so many unexposed types in here, some making their debuts and improvement generally expected from virtually the whole field on paper at least. However, PCH's Moski went into the notebook last year when, in the Authorized colours after a big gamble into fav, on debut, it totally messed up the start to be a long way back only to make up some relatively eyecatching late ground over 6f and ended up sixth that day. The form of that race is not special at all, the winner was second in a class 3 event but generally the form has been a bit of a let down of the horses in front of it that day but Moski is naturally open to lots of improvement, steps up to a mile today which looks certain to suit and has an inform trainer who apart from one odds on reverse in Brave Prospector has started the season well, should go close.

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 350 Seg: Reasonably Sure EW Very consistant horse, had question marks over his enthusiasm in a finish in the past but won well enough last time after a break, hopefully doesnt bounce. The trainer does well with her limited stable and usually her horses keep their form for two or three runs so although would prefer it on the good side i reckon its good enough to get placed at least against some very moderate opposition.

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 Not often I venture my opinions in here, but I do like the look of Louisiade in the 4.00 Southwell (0.5pts E/W) This one is back with what seems to be his favourite partner, in M Coumbe, who takes 7lb off. With the favourite likely to go off a short price, a place is a minimum at what could be a nice price

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 Lay Sun Of The Sea 4.40pm Lingfield This horse is on a upward curve with last 3 races 122 but today the field holds a good few that will stop that curve in its tracks, cant see it winning to day. Good luck all and thanks Mod for hard work:ok

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 3-30 Southwell - Irish Conection - 1 point lay at 11/4 In a race where I'd have half a chance if I had four legs, this horse looks a bit dodgy. Over 6f here last time out, he looked as though he may not have liked the surface, but he's back here. At 5 years of age, this is only his third race. May have been rescued en route to the glue factory for a glittering career on the A.W. but hopefully, the favourite sets the mark, and he won't beat him. Apart from the lack of form, I don't like bad spelling, and connection has 2 'n' s. :loon Good luck to all :ok

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 2.40 lingfield 1m median auct stakes 5/5 were in the top 3 in the betting 5/5 were 3y-olds 5/5 had previous racecourse experience and had been placed between 2nd - 6th LTO. 4/5 won by colt/gelding 4/5 had ran at higher grade LTO 4/5 drawn in bottom 2/3rd's of draw Top 3 in Betfair market as i type are - SIR BILLY NICK MOKSI SPEYSIDE SIR BILLY NICK - Colt, ran once and placed 3rd, Drawn 8 , Ran CL 4 LTO . MOKSI - Colt, ran once placed 6th , drawn 10 , Ran Cl 5 LTO . SPEYSIDE - Colt , ran once placed 2nd , Drawn 1, Ran Cl 5 LTO . Taking a look into the form of the stables in the past fortnight and the CHAPPLE-HYAM inmates are firing . 3 WINS and four 2NDS from 11 in the past 14 days , and those 3 inners were racing after at least a 4 month break. A doubt about the draw but with the stable debtants running well it could pay to go with MOKSI.

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 4.40 Lingfield. King's Ransom. Lay. (Racing Post SP 5/2) In fine form recently, and should run his race again today to be fair. However! although that's the case, several others would appear better handicapped, plus there's enough pace in the race to worry in for the lead. So bearing that in mind the 5/2 sp looks quite short as he's going to need no less than his very best to be winning again, 'if' of course others run their races. A lay much more than a play at 5/2, and if he goes and wins, then I'll be the first to say well done!

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 my best bet of the day would be to lay high n dry 310 ling. poor effort last time and this trip would be too short than ideal for him. looks very vulnerable despite having the ability to go well.

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 LAWDY MISS CLAWDY 3.40 Lingfield. 0.5 points EW. Not an obvious choice, but consistent enough and the weights suggest she can go well if getting the race run to suit. I think she can get things go her way, therefore the price looks tasty. Chris Catlin doing the steering, so enough strength and tact in the saddle, so let's hope she does as I expect at nice odds.

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 3.10 Lingfield Oat Cuisine has been given a fair chance here. The handicapper has rated her 62 and she should pick up a race off that sort of mark. The oppo here aren't great and if right she would go close. I backed her on her maiden win and the way she won that day suggests that the drop back in trip to 7f will not be a problem. Her maiden has two ok yardsticks in 2nd and 3rd (69/70 rated) so her chance here is obvious. I'm worried about fitness and pace of race only. Oat Cuisine - win

Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Tuesday 08/04/08 Well done The Rat and Mowgli :ok S5.00 Ming Vase 0.5pt E/W Reunited with the same pilot who won on this on its penultimate start over course and distance. I've also drawn a line through a couple of the main rivals and will be laying those on the place market (Kentucky Bullet and Royal Audition).

Potentially on a very lenient mark after these 2 performances and 7lbs claimer will help. Definite chance againt this bunch!
