slapdash
Re: Slapdash systems 2006 4.10 Bath Gingko (16/1 Stan James) 10 points EW. Large handicap system. We're getting 5.00 for the place, compared to a Betfair lay price of 3.70. The Betfair win price is also 16/1. There's some danger that a non-runner may cut it down to 15 runners and only three places.

slapdash
Re: Slapdash systems 2006 3.10 Bath Emilion (10/1 Stan James) 10 points EW. Each way system. We're getting 3.00 for the place, compared to a lay price of 2.66 with Betfair, and the Betfair win price is just a touch higher at 11.50. Some other bookies are as low as 7/1, so I'll take the price.
slapdash
Re: Slapdash systems 2006 3.40 Bath Celtic Spirit (16/1 Stan James) 10 points EW. Each way system. We're getting 4.20 for the place, compared to a lay price of 3.50 at Betfair, and the Betfair win price is just a little higher at 18.00. All other bookies have shorter prices, so I'll take the 16/1. When I looked earlier they didn't qualify, as the lay prices on Betfair were too high, although I seem to remember that there was quite a large difference between the back and lay prices on several horses in that race, so it may just have been a matter of lack of liquidity. Wish I'd checked again later now!

Wish I'd checked again later now! I missed the prices I posted here so I waited till the rush time and took Haneen @8 and Follow The Colours @12 (Betfair prices were oscillating around these numbers and differences in place odds were reasonable). Small profit from these three horses after all.

I had a small bet 5minutes before the start on Teach To Preach @6 (2.0 for place) when the lay price on Betfair was 6 for win and 1.60 for place. At the best early price of 8/1, we'd get 2.60 for the place, compared to a lay price of 1.80 on Betfair. The Betfair win price is also 8/1. I'll guess to take SP, with no real conviction.
