ivans82
Just a note on yesterdays racing . Watch the replay of M Barzalona on Mr Moliere in the 1450 at Deauville . Clearly on the best horse but decided to go for an impossible "gap" on the rails .It seemed he went flat out to go through a non existant gap , made contact with at least one horse infront , lucky not to injure the horses or jockeys in front of him , and was forced to just about pull his horse up . In my mind he gave no thought to the other jockeys or horses in the race . Downfight reckless and dangerous , any body know of any bans handed out ? Sporting Sam
Cork 2pm Lucky storm Rebel treaty both each way now Sam Ewing has got the monkey off his back he can start getting placed again on his Gordon Elliott rides. This runner is the stable second string but jack Kennedy’s mount has been withdrawn. Rebel treaty drops in trip sharply as a three mile point to point winner. They should all be playing for places behind the Willie Mullins horse though. Naas 2:15 launch win only one of the top three proven over track trip and going. Bofa win questions about this small field outsider who drops from a mile. sire had a nice winner over the minimum trip in similar circumstances last week. Unlikely to figure but may do better than expected….. Edited August 7, 2023 by Sporting Sam yossa6133

Sporting Sam
Ripon 2:45 nighteyes win its pretty hard to evaluate nighteyes other than through Darnation who handed out a ten lengths beating last time. but there was a lot to like about the battling performance and the head to head running a furlong out before the winner put the race to bed. previous form of this horse was a good third to expensive queen who went on to compete in listed class soon after. Ok to assume darnation will reach that level and by association nighteyes can go on again in this company. Vulnerable to a good newcomer but aren’t we all?! Nass 2:50 ZAGHRAF GIDWA BOTH EACH WAY Draw bias in the mud can swing all over the place at Naas and these two high draws could feature or be out with the washing. Sporting Sam
3:20 ripon hollies only ride of the day and while it is on a newcomer, she could have spent the day resting after getting a good run in third in the group race in France yesterday. JURI win looks to be a smart newcomer and whilst maybe needing the run, she is obviously eager to ride and it’s her only mount of the day. Maybe she just wants to be on at the start, but she could have done that on the gallops…. Full sister to Gimcrack winner AJAYA and if they’ve worked together then likely hard to beat in headgear on belated debut…….. yossa6133
Quite a drift on Juri, Bet365 opened 5/6 now 5/1. The Spinmeister having a good tour of Ripon racecourse after escaping the stalls. Edited August 7, 2023 by yossa6133
Sporting Sam
Difficult decisions I know, but with 125/1 the spinmeister reluctant to load he really could have pulled with the entire field in all. Instead the load and he bolts under the stall risking injury and the race has to wait and all coming out again. In Hong Kong it’s red flag you’re not running. Sporting Sam
Cork next race peter Faheys suprise package win is weighted to do well on his return to hurdling, faces two Mullins runners but won the imperial cup last year at sandown and has the class to win here. Two good flat outings may well have readied him enough. The Equaliser and yossa6133 1
Sporting Sam
Naas 4:35 valliant king win without VAUBAN @ 10/11 layfayette each way this 1 mile 3 furlongs looks plenty sharp enough at the price for VAUBAN. He could yet win well but both vallant king and course winner Lafayette should at least follow him home…. layfayette also has the distance and comes here in good order. Sporting Sam
Windsor 8:30 Lawn ranger win Four times course and distance and confirmed mud lover. going off short for those reasons. A class three winner at his best at goodwood in 2019. those days are behind him and vulnerable to a good progressive young horse. But these conditions are different and no questions to answer and he could have most of these struggling in the final two furlongs if he retains ability and as his last run was in April under these conditions and ran well here recently in third may be ok.
