Three Italian clubs have reached this stage for the first time in donkey's years and we still have the usual big guns of Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid still in the competition. Nevertheless, the Eagles are comfortable on the top of the Primeira Liga table, and this match is much more important for them. Benfica has been on a persistent run of goalscoring form, finding the back of the net every time they've gone out to play in their last six games. They've hit an aggregate of 17 during that period while also conceding a total of 4. They have been quite dominant this season, and Benfica eyes the next round in the top European cup. However, Mihailo Ristić (Hamstring Injury), Gonçalo Guedes (Meniscal Injury), and Julian Draxler (Ankle Surgery) won't be available for Benfica coach Roger Schmidt. Last time out, Inter drew 1-1 in the Serie A tie with Salernitana. It was the Nerazzurri's sixth straight game without winning, and they go to this one in poor form. It has become apparent that Inter has suffered from a shortage of goals in their past six games, netting a disappointing return of just 3. In those fixtures, Nerazzurri have also seen the overall goal tally of opposing teams equal 6. That kind of pattern isn't assured to be sustained into this next game, though. They need to do much better in Lisbon if they want to secure a positive result from the first leg. Inter manager Simone Inzaghi has not got a full squad to pick from. Milan Skriniar (Back trouble), Dalbert (Cruciate Ligament Injury), and Hakan Calhanoglu (groin strain) won't be making appearances. We see them as favorites in this encounter and believe the Eagles will win in their backyard. The Citizens have been in excellent form, and they head to this match full of confidence. Manchester City hasn't had any problems with scoring, finding the back of the net every time they've gone out to play in their last six matches. They've hit an aggregate of 24 during that period while seeing the number of goals scored against them stand at 2. Putting that aside, time will tell if the trend will be replicated in this next game. The Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will be grateful to have no fitness concerns whatsoever before this match with a completely injury-free group available to select from. Bayern Munich comes into this encounter after a 1-0 Bundesliga win in the defeat of Freiburg in their most recent match. They preserved the top spot in the German top flight, and a huge challenge is ahead of them in this game. In their last six outings, Bayern Munich has bagged a tally of 14 goals. Bayern Munich has also scored on each one of those occasions. In that time, they have had nine goals go into their net. Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has some current player fitness concerns. Mathys Tel (Torn Muscle Fibre), Paul Wanner (Adductor problems), Arijon Ibrahimovic (Virus Infection), Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (Knee Problems), Lucas Hernández (Cruciate Ligament Rupture), and Manuel Neuer (Fracture of the lower leg) won't be making appearances. Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction This game is quite tough for prediction since it could easily go either way. However, Manchester City has been much more convincing lately, and we think they could go to Munich with an advantage in their bags. Goals Market Prediction Both sides have significant attacking potential, and we should see an exciting and high-scoring match. Although many expected them to pick up where they left off after beating Napoli 4-0, Rossoneri continued spilling points. They slipped to 4th place, having just one point more than their fierce rival, Inter. In their last six fixtures, Stefano Pioli's Milan has hit the target a combined total of 7 times which gives them an average number of goals per match of 1.17. They need to be much more consistent against powerful Napooli to progress to the next stage in this competition. Zlatan Ibrahimović (Muscular problems) and Pierre Kalulu (Calf Injury) won’t be able to feature for Milan coach Stefano Pioli. Napoli comes into this encounter after a 2-1 Serie A win in the defeat of Lecce in their previous outing. They bounced back after losing to Milan and stayed comfortable on the top of the table. A tendency of at least one team not managing to score in games involving Napoli has been fairly consistent recently. A glance at their last six games reveals that it’s occurred five times. During those clashes, opposing sides have hit a goal total of 6, while Napoli has scored 11. That aside, we will just have to wait and see if such a trend might persist in this game or not. Owing to an otherwise available squad, there is just the sole fitness issue for the Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti to contend with. Benzema has 5 goals against Chelsea and you would have to fancy Real to get many chances in that defense without the likes of Silva, Azpilicueta and potentially Mount also out for any kind of creativity in the middle. I do hear that Kante is back though. Final bet in the game is Benzema 2+ shots on target and 2+ fouls from Havertz at 5/2. In terms of the other match, I think Napoli will win it and I saw with Skybet they are offering 25/1 for Napoli and Real both to win and BTTS. Over in the Bet Builder thread I've gone for Real Madrid to win, >1 goal, Benzema to score and >2 cards shown at 12/5 with 365. You can bet up to £20 on that and get a 25% bonus if it wins. (While I'm allowed less than a fiver and don't get the bonus!) Over at Hills (where I would at least get an odds boost) I like 3.04 for Madrid win/>1.5 goals/Benzema >1.5 SoT.
