The Equaliser
Late to the plate today again 6.30 Sou Van Dijk £5.94 win at 3.15 = poss profit of £9.0. and False ID £3.56 at 5.6 = poss profit of £10.23 (got better odds on this one) Van Dijk has proved itself twice over this CD recently and although the RP Spotlight says that Susie Javea could improve for the second attempt on Fibresand I would rather go with proven form. I have chosen False ID as my second choice because I'm led to believe that the horse holds its form when it comes into form ? Don't know what to make of the 7.00 Sou Loads of money has been piled on to San Juan to make it a best price of around 5/2. There is nothing in the form book to support this so this is not for me. Amazing Amaya looks tempting and did well to get 2nd at Wolverhampton recently at 25/1. Who knows if this was just a flash in the pan. Although 7/2 seems a fair price I don't think that it is worth taking the chance so I'll leave the race alone

He tipped it at 4/1 and it was 7/2 about an hour ago. His other selection won at Southwell 6.00 but that horse halved in value from Hughs price of 11/4. RP have also napped Amazing Amaya . Just checked and it’s 11/4 now. Edited January 20, 2021 by Villa Chris Wildgarden

I failed in my bid in the 6.30 as Van Dijk did its usual and went to sleep for a lot of the race which was my worry anyway. In the end it only lost by half a length. Looks like Spotlight was right after all ?. I am annoyed with myself for swallowing RP comments about False ID being reliable when it hits form. Didn’t have it mate, I don’t bet on the AW, but I like to look at Hugh Taylor’s tips from time to time to see how he’s doing. They usually slash in price quickly but this one was still 7/2 an hour before the off, and with RP napping it, it was of interest . I feared that Van Dijk would be slow away and was worried it wouldn't quite get there. Susie Javea was the one that beat it by half a length. £9.50 loss for the day. My new balance is now £521.52 (Bank £500). Just to think on the 15th January my balance was £570.38 almost £50 down! just goes to show that even betting on graded races only it is still very tricky to make a regular profit. Let's hope I can find at least a winner tomorrow MCLARKE and LEE-GRAYS
