StevieDay1983
Porto vs Tondela One game stands out as a potential one-sided affair this weekend and it's the 8:15pm GMT kick-off between Porto and Tondela on Monday night at the Estadio do Dragao. The home side desperately need to start picking up ground on league leaders Benfica otherwise the title will slip from their grasp again. Meanwhile, the away side also want to get a win to move up the table towards the European qualification spots. Porto come into this game in 2nd place but they are 7 points behind top spot. It's not like Sergio Conceicao's team have been playing poorly. An opening day defeat to Gil Vicente followed by draws later in the season to Maritimo and Belenenses have seen them lose ground on a Benfica team that have only dropped points on one game this season. Who were their opponents? Yes, Porto. The host side come into this game with a 100% record at home without conceding a single goal during those games. Amazing stuff. Tondela are punching above their expectations in 8th place and just 5 points off the European places. It's a vast improvement on their 15th placed finish last season but they're still a world away from Porto's standards with a whopping 14 points separating the two sides already. However, the visitors come into this game with the 2nd best away record in the division having suffered just 1 defeat on their travels in the league this season. A narrow home win is what sticks out for me the most here. There is no denying that Porto are exquisite on home turf and even the resilient nature of Natxo Gonzalez's side won't have enough in their locker to get the win in this one. The best bets for me are backing Porto to start fast and early with a high chance that they may go another game at home without conceding.
