2017 Summer Transfer Window Chat

Recommended Posts

Right, at the request of @Pep004, here is a general discussion thread for this year's summer transfer window. We will be posting up individual threads in the various sections across the summer relating to odds on single player transfers. However, this place can be used for the more informal about rumoured moves across the globe over the coming months.

Looks that Waldemar Kita and Claudio Ranieri reached an agreement. Probably good for marketing, but bad for the young team... we were used to see an attacking football, with lots of short passes and most important high pressing but now... Well, we'll see.

Apparently, a silly French FA rule means Ranieri's appointment has been delayed. Probably just delaying the inevitable but it's a random turn of events!

Allegedly, managers over the age of 65 years old cannot be appointed in Ligue 1. Well, we learn something new every day. Seems a crazy rule to have though!

Everton doing some good business. I think £30 million for Pickford is a gamble but far from the worst buy of all-time. Signing Klaasen is also a great move. I think they just need a centre back to partner Williams, get a right back in to deputise for the injured Coleman, and then sign a striker to partner or cover Lukaku. Their squad will be starting to take a very good shape. Dark horses for top four next season?

They are good at the business aren't they? But they were disappointed by all accounts with Ashley Williams this season and they are gambling on some of the buys, so all in all if they've got the money to throw around to ensure at least half of their signings are decent, why not? But I don't think that ever helped a team hit top six.

Not huge news for non-Championship fans but Cardiff's obsession with signing just Scottish players or ex-Rotherham players continued today with the confirmation of Danny Ward for £1.6 million. Warnock had him purring at Rotherham so hopeful he can do the same for us.

Lacazette officially a Gunner.

Some other bigger L1 transfers: Tolisso from Lyon to Bayern; Gomis from Marseille (Swansea) to Galatasaray; Belhanda from Nice (Dynamo Kiev) to Galatasaray...

What is also interesting.. Bielsa is bringing young talents to Lille.. Araujo (Sao Paulo), Pepe (Angers), Koffi (ASEC), Chahreddine Boukholda and Kouadio-Yves Dabila (both Monaco), Edgar Ié (Belenenses), Ballo (PSG).. will be interesting to see what will his mastermind create...

Not yet conformed transfer of Dzeko to Everton might be a good move after Lukaku's move. Dzeko showed himself as strong and energetic footballer playing with Man City and it can be right action from Koeman's side.

This one has come out of nowhere! I've always rated Dzeko and thought with more backing and regular football he could have been a quality player in the Premier League. Not sure how he is now a few years on.
